Thanks to the vicious attack from buff Bagwell, Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett, also known as the In-Humane society, the Heartbreak kid was hospitalized and told he can not wrestle and defend his world title this Sunday Night at Final encounter, thus nEw Owner Eric Bischoff stripped Michaels of the title and made Jeff Jarrett, the assassin himself, face the number one contender, Rob Van Dam at final Encounter.
