An article on Tazz for a website may not seem sensical but I feel Tazz is totally misused in the WWF. Tazz began his career in ECW as The Tazmaniac. I can honestly admit I did not like that gimmick and nor did I like his wrestling style, but that all changed when he became Taz.
Taz was a powerhouse in ECW and won numerous titles. He held the World Title on 3 seperate occasions, as well as the Tag Titles on 2 occasions and the ECW Television title on 2 occasions. Taz made his jump to the WWF where he had his highly anticiapted debut against Kurt Angle who was currently undefeated at the time and he did go on to defeat Angle with his patent move the Tazmission. After his feud with Angle, Tazz did not go to high up the preverbial WWF ladder. Tazz then entered the Hardcore invitational at Wrestlemania and won the Hardcore title 3 times but did not leave Wrestlemania with that title. Tazz was then set to have a feud with Chris Benoit over the Intercontinental title until he tore his bicep and was forced to be off WWF television for a few months. Tazz returned only to have feuds with Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty. Tazz was totally getting buried.
Right now Tazz sits as the commentator for WWF Smackdown! For a wrestler who was a big signing for the WWF they are totally misusing him. Maybe he is a crybaby backstage or has an ego but that can be fixed. You can talk about how small Tazz is and how he can't be a champion because of his size but if you look at champions such as Spike Dudley then you really can't knock Tazz's size. Maybe I do mark out for Tazz because I was a big fan of him in his ECW days but now I do not care about Tazz as he never has an on air role in the WWF except for commentating. I know he won't drive ratings through the roof but if the WWF is really hurting for talent after this split then adding Tazz into there cannot be that bad.
Tazz always had a saying in the WWF, well actually there were two of them, one being "The Mood is About to Change," and the second one being "Thug Life Born, Thug Life Bred, Thug Life Dead".......Well Tazz you hit the nail on the head because right now your career is Thug Life Dead!
