Raw Rant for April 22, 2002
Coming off of a sub-par PPV Raw is set to begin.
Brock Lesnar is on his way to the ring to start off Raw. For a debut last night he was terrible, not a good way to debut him. So what he destroyed a LHW in Jeff Hardy.......Big Deal!
Brock Lesnar vs Matt Hardy
Matt comes out through the crowd. Spinebuster by Brock. Backbreaker by Brock followed by a very weird looking bearhug. Brock throws Matt into the corner and runs into the ringpost. A stupid move without a name by Matt and two leg drops from the top. Attempted Twist of Fate but Brock turns it into his finisher that has yet to be named, so we will just call it "look at that" Spinning powerbomb and the ref stops the match. Didn't the exact same thing happen against Jeff last night at the PPV? If they want to build this guy as a monster they have to give him more of a moveset and definetly get him out of feuding with the Hardyz. DUD
Taker and Flair meet up backstage and Taker thanks him for last night. Taker makes his way to the ring to publicly thank Flair. Spews a buncha garbage about how he would have won regardless who the referee was. Starts talking about his match with Hogan. Triple H is shown backstage but he is only supposed to be on Smackdown. Taker is scared! HHH attacks Taker. They take it to the outside. Hey the mats are still shiney!
Well I have to go out and do a car rental right now as I am on call so my rant will re-start once I return.
Well I am back, I bet I didn't miss too much anyway!
Booker & Goldust vs Bubba & Spike
Chops on GD by Bubba. Boot to the face by GD. Bubba with a suplex. Missed splash by Bubba. Elbow to the head by Bubba. Tag to Spike. Stomp by Spike. Flying forearm gets two. Rollup by Spike. Clothesline by GD. Booker works on Spike on the outside. Butt stomp by GD. Tag to Booker. Kick in the corner on Spike. Back kick and a flapjack by Booker. Tag to GD. Sunset flip by Spike for 2. Elbow drop by GD. Sleeper by GD. Facedrop by Spike. Tag to Bubba. Sidewalk slam on Booker. Elbow drop by Bubba. Tag to Spike. All four men in the ring. GD and Booker thrown to the outside, and Spike tells Bubba to get the tables! Back in the ring Booker delivers a scissors kick on Spike for the win. Wow for a former 5 time WCW champion they are really burying Booker T. 1 *. Steven Richards comes out and tries to pin Bubba but only gets 2 and gets put through a table for his troubles. Bubba retains the Hardcore title.
Stasiak is backstage with Dreamer and talks about a whole bunch of garbage. Regal comes in and buries him, thus setting up the ever popular match between Stasiak and Regal.
Regal vs "Planet" Stasiak
So is Stasiak a face now? Master of the heart punch? Regal nails Stasiak with brass knucks before the bell and gets the win within 5 seconds. Ah good, a very short match with these two, just the way I like it!
Bradshaw is shown backstage on the ground unconscience and being taken to the hospital. Super sleuth Flair says he thinks he knows he did it. Flir questions the nWo when Kevin Nash with his long beautiful hair walks in, but Flair kicks him out due to his suspension. Wow that downside guarantee on his contract must be bothering him. He already made a television appearance one week after his "suspension" Flair says he will find a new opponent for the nWo to team with Austin. Flair leaves the room and walks in literally 2 seconds later and says he has found an opponent in the Big Show. Wow that was fast!
Holy Hogan Flashbacks Batman! Out comes Hogan with his little boy belt. To much Hogan nostalgia for my liking. He praises HHH for last night and talks about 18 years ago...blah blah blah.
Hey that Jason X movie looks pretty entertaining to watch next to this stuff right now!
Show & Austin vs nWo
Well for those of you that don't see it coming, Show is going to join the nWo, I just have this feeling! Show and X-Pac start. JR says that Big Show gets bigger by the minute? What??? Show throws X-Pac. Tag to Hall, show throws Hall, tag to Austin. Kicks and punches to Hall. Kneelift by Hall, tag to X-Pac. Spinebuster by Austin on both X-Pac and Hall. Mudhole stomping on Hall. Chops to X-Pac. Clothesline by X-Pac to Austin. Tag to Hall. Fallaway slam by Hall to Austin. Tornado punch by Hall, tag to X-Pac. Kick by X-Pac. Tag to Hall. Lou Thesz press by Austin followed by the badass elbow. Hall kicks away in the corner on Austin. Abdominal stretch by Hall but Austin reverses it with a hip toss. Slothesline by Hall, and a tag to X-Pac. Double leg takedown by Austin. Spinning roundhouse by X-Pac. Tag to Hall. Running clothesline by Hall. Sleeper by Austin which is immediately reversed by Hall. Jawbreaker by Austin which JR calls a modified Stunner. Remember back in the day when that just used to be called a jawbreaker? Tag to X-Pac, Tag to Show! Show turns on Austin and chokeslams him and joins the nWo. Wow I really never saw that one coming at all. Match ends without a finish. 1/2 *
When is the WWF going to learn? Show joining the nWo in WCW never worked, why do they think it will work here, and does that actually mean we will see Show main eventing again? Can't wait for that! With the portions of Raw that I saw there was not one match above 1 *. The WWF has to freshen up their ideas because they have become way to predictable. I know it is far fetched but maybe next week Raw will be alot better! Where is Chris Benoit??????????
Until next time......This is the Net Detective
