What Kerry meant to me
It's hard to say in a few words what Kerry and the Von Erich family meant to me. My mother sure thought the sun would rise and set in Kevin, while Kerry was my hero. Some of the best times I ever had, were watching wccw on Saturday night with my mom. When I was 18 years old, we raked and scraped every dime we could get our hands on, drove 18 hours straight from Kentucky to Ft. Worth, Texas just to see the wrestling. It was right after Kerry's motorcycle accident, so he was not there. Talk about broken hearted!!!! We stood in line , what seemed like forever and got to meet Kevin & Mike. They were so nice to us, Kevin could not believe that we had come that far. To this day I still have their pictures & autographs. A couple of years after that, Kerry came to Louisville, Ky. for a match. Let me tell ya, this girl was in Heaven, my dream had come true. I got to see Kerry in person. My mother passed away July 10th, 1991 and I kind of got away from wrestling, but I never forgot the Von Erich's. I cried each time I heard of one of them passing, it felt like I had lost a member of my family. My heart goes out to Miss Doris and Kevin, I can't even imagine the pain you felt and still do. As they say life goes on, I married my husband Steve in '93 and in '94 our son Steven was born. On October 3th, 1995, my second son came into this world, Chad Christian Kerry Abner. Life does go on, but we can never forget. Thank you to all of the Von Erich's, for giving us so many years of good memories, and thank you to them good ole Adkisson boys, for sharing a big part of your life with us. You are in my heart forever.
