A tribute to the late Kerry VonErich
-Kerry Gene Adkisson-
February 3, 1960- February 18, 1993

An unfamiliar rock beat floats through
the television speakers. Two pairs of
young, curious eyes focus on the screen.
A whirlwind of curly brown hair and
white fringes explode from behind the
fans on the TV screen. "That's Kerry Von
Erich!!" Jenny cries increduously. "Kerry
who?" I'm clueless. I have NO idea who
this is. "Kerry Von Erich... Chris's big
brother,"
Chris's big brother with his dreamy eyes
and wide smile has a permenant place in
my heart. At the age of 14 the only
thing I cared about was long hair, sexy
eyes and a nice posterior end. I was a
typical teen age girl... I can admit it.
Adolescence took its toll and I grew up.
I also got away from wrestling and
Kerry. Almost 9 years later at the age
of 22 I still appreciate a nice body but
I see more in Kerry.
I see a man who loved his children.
I see a man who longed to be on top and
please his father.
I see a man who left screaming girls
with tears in their eyes everywhere he
went.
I see a man who never realized how great
he really was.
I see a man who took a piece of the
wrestling world with him on February 18,
1993.
I see a man who has taught me to laugh
at myself and enjoy life to the fullest
because you don't get a second chance.
I can't explain how or why the pictures
and video clips have touched me the way
they do. Kerry touched a lot of people
in a lot of different ways when he was a
live. I go in to chat and listen to all
the stories about Kerry and read what
other people have to say about him and I
find it absolutely amazing the effect he
still has almost 7 years after the world
lost another hero.
