The Sturgeon View By: Benzilla

Well due to the friggin snow that just won't go away, and some other components, I missed the begining of the show...so I have no idea what happened. That and I have a very short memory, so we'll just kick things off from what I do remember.

Unfortuently my mom who usually gives her uniform criques in the column decided that the snow was too much of risk and bowed out from going...as did alot of the people I had invited. So from the pool of almost 15 people, Sturgeon Bay ended up having only 6 people, with only 3 of them being "new" to ACW-NWA. Well one thing I remember for sure oddly enough is Zack Mercury...damn, he's built and has a good look about him too. Jason sure hit the nail on the head, as no body knew who he was. But all is not lost as I think he won over the crowd as he got a decent round of applause from the crowd. I'd really like to see him stick around in ACW-NWA...but with something I and everyone can chant to. All we could come up with is a parody of the "Wrestling...Yaaay!" chant, that being "Canada...eh?". That and I was already disapointed to not have Horace there...no douche chanting. However, I think the question of "Why doesn't Jason Jerry become the mouthpiece of ACW?" was answered by his whole "I'm a cheap jew, I just want what makes me money". Perhaps its those Wendsday nights at Hanarans that makes it that much funny. And it gave a chance to chant "Go Jew Boy"...it was that or singing the Dradle Song. And during intermission, I think he was even nice enough to dedicate a song to the Sturgeon Bay Boys...Dan mentioned it, someone was talking to me...either way, it made me all congested...talk amongst yourselfs for a moment...here's a subject: Jelly, if its a gel how come its not spelt Gelly....okay, I'm alright now. Another guy I'd like to see stick around in ACW-NWA also is Steve Stone. I wanted to see him back since the Cecil show, he's impressed me and the crowd sure didn't mind giving him hell. I also enjoyed the live interview segments during the show, it provided nice little breaks and gave the show overall a better feel I think. Josie did well for the interviewer, minus the use of some wrestling terms...Granted most probably know the terms she used. And one of the best things to come out of these interview segments, Kamikaze Ken's Arnold impression. Funny stuff indeed. I'm still not getting the whole comming out to "Pour Some Sugar On Me" song thing, but hey whatever floats your boat. The newbies I brought along with me, and some of the other fans around me seemed to be getting tired of Weasel always being ring side for almost every match, but atleast he did come out in a new shirt almost everytime...that serves no relevance, I know. I was glad to see some time being given to the Hills/Norwood feud, even if it still leaves me hanging..perhaps that's the plan. That whole segment went a little too fast for me, but then again alot of things go too fast for me. On the subject of Hills, I don't believe I scored anything that would redeem myself, so Hills still leads 1-0.

Wrestling wise, it was good to see some more top rope action then just technical and brawling moves. And that submission move XXplicit Content did was just flickin awesome. The shattering chair spot was making me want to chant Holy Shit, but cleanlyness is happieness. And speaking of chair shots, the wrestlers sure has some obsession about tossing there oponent into rows of chairs...and walls, and basketball hoops...and rows of chairs...I was really hoping for Jordan to try the ring post figure four, just because I haven't really seen it used much since the days of Bret Hart. I'm smelling a tag match from the Dys/Jordan and Anderson/Quinn matches, which is more then welcomed by me. But that may not happen for while, because the next show (April 17th) will have the return of SPANISH STEW(!) who will be fighting Kamikaze Ken and Adrian Serrano in the NWA:WI Tag Team title Tourney. I'll be glad to see Serrano come back, he's grown on me...and I haven't been able to yell "How you like that?!" as of late. The actual wrestling ring sure sounded stiff, Dan informs me it's because of the lack of an apron...either way, I think it made the matches seem better.

It was good to have the crowd willing to be more voicefull, unlike Vendetta where you could hear how much change was in a guys pocket on the other side of the ring. So as I said, a good show but I felt lacked something...other then Spanish Stew of course. Maybe it was the weather, or something else but I just had this feeling something was lacking. In my eyes, the Cecil Show seemed like the best show I've been too since we've started going.

Finally, I'd like it to be known that Ref Kyle, the President of F.O.R.K. has gone NWA? What kinda crap is that? But atleast Kyle got me, and a bunch of other people there FORK shirts, Kyle you be the man.

I believe that's all I have for this edition of the Sturgeon View, its short and probably not all that good but that's the way it is. Muchas gracias for reading...that means much thanks in spanish, just incase you didn't know. lol...its an inside joke.
