even had a few matches for the promotion. She soon left the AWA and began wrestling in the NWF,where she quickly became the Woman's champion. Despite a successful first encounter with Leilani Kai her stint there quickly went nowhere.She was teamed with another former WWF women's champion Rockin Robin and they made an unsuccessful attempt at taking the tag team titles from Kai and Martin,in a double disqualification match.Richter was noticeably absent from the promotion's first and only pay per view event.The LPWA folded shortly thereafter. Wendi's last matches were for a European tour against Lexie Fyfe in 2000.She has since left the business.Although some fans dismiss her contributions to the sport,Wendi Richter was undeniably a major force in women's wrestling.She was one of the first wrestlers in the country to break into more mainstream
media,appearing on MTV,a Cindy Lauper video,and a cartoon.This was fifteen years before women like Sable and Joanie Lauren.
Once her time in the NWF was up Wendi emerged in the LPWA.The promotion was a serious,all women's wrestling promotion with
many stars like Terri Power,Misty Blue Simms,Dangerous Denise Storm,Rusty Thomas,Bad Girl,Black Venus,Reggie Bennett,and Magnificent Mimi.Although seeing Wendi in the ring with these wrestlers would've been interesting,sadly she
was stuck in matches against Lei Lani Kai and Judy Martin,whom she already faced in the WWF.
