This match is for the title, as Hardy did make the weight limit. Matt Hardy powerslams Billy Kidman, but no control is given. Hardy continues his attack and all of the sudden has the control and gets a one count. Kidman is on the ground, as Hardy continues with a scoop slam and a right hand. Hardy continues on with several covers, but none are good enough. Kidman starts to counter, surprising Matt Hardy. However, Hardy counters again and gets a two count. Kidman shows signs of coming back, but it is all Hardy as he hooks a weak submission hold. Bill Kidman gets up and gets a sleeper, but Hardy counters again. Kidman hits the mat hard and it is all Hardy! Kidman and Hardy start to exchange clotheslines. Kidman tries to get control by throwing Hardy into the ropes. Hardy is standing, looking down at Kidman, but Kidman counter with a standing drop kick. The fight goes to the outside. Kidman rolls Hardy back into the ring and then goes to the top. Shannon Moore tries to interfere for Hardy, but Kidman takes care of him. Hardy gets a big two count on Kidman, when his attention is drawn. Kidman positions Hardy for his signature move, but he misses. Hardy connects with a huge move and gets Kidman for a two count. Hardy and Kidman are both at the top, Hardy goes off with the control and wins the match with the three count! Winner: Matt Hardy (New Champion) Credit to RajahWWF.com Top November 12, 2001 Title Won: WWF Tag Team Championship Won From: Booker T & Test Location: Boston, MA Held until: November 18, 2001 Lost To: The Dudley Boyz Summary: As the Hardy Boyz slide into the ring Test and Booker starts kicking them. Booker throws Matt to the outside of the ring and Test and Booker start double teaming Jeff. Booker with a suplex to Jeff and a very early cover. Booker with a kick to the side of Jeff's head and he tags in Test for some more double teaming. Test throws Jeff into the corner and delivers a series of rights and elbows. Jeff fights back with some rights of his own but Test knees him in the midsection. Test with a power bomb and a cover but Jeff kicks out at the 2 count. Test attempts the big boot but Jeff ducks and hits Test with a jawbreaker. Both men are down and the ref starts the 10 count. They both get up and Jeff tries to get to Matt for the tag but Test pulls him back to the center of the ring. Jeff hits Test with a reverse mule kick. Matt and Booker are both tagged in. Matt with a right to Booker and a nice take down! Test comes in and Matt executes a beautiful tornado DDT on him. Matt goes back to Booker and hits him with another elbow and a kick to his face. Matt goes to the second turnbuckle and does his double leg drop. Matt with a cover but Test breaks it up at the 2 count. Test and Booker try to double team Matt but Jeff pulls Test's leg, taking him down. Matt with a Twist of Fate and Jeff goes to the top rope...Swanton Bomb! As Jeff turns around Test hits him with a big boot. Test tries to throw Matt to the outside but he goes out instead. Test pulls Matt off of the apron and they start fighting. While in the ring, Booker has Jeff covered. The ref is not paying attention to Jeff and Booker, he is looking at Matt and Test on the outside. Booker gets up form his cover of Jeff and Lita hits him with her Litacanrana. Jeff is quick to roll up Booker...1...2...3! Eventually the ref seperates them and Test hits a tilt-a-whirl slam on Matt. Tag to Booker. Flying forearm by Booker 1-2-shoulder up. Tag to Test. Test throws elbows in the corner and then kicks away. Back elbow by Matt, who goes second rope for a Tornado DDT, but he can't capitalize. They crawl to their corners. Tag to Booker and Jeff. Flying forearm by Jeff and a front dropkick. Double legdrop to Booker 1-2-broken by Test. Matt and Test battle outside, while Booker ducks a clothesline and hits the Book End on Jeff. While the ref seperates Test and Matt, Lita hits the Hurricanlita on Booker. Matt hits the Twist of Fate on Booker, but Test takes him down with a hard clothesline. Test rears back for a boot, but LIta holds his leg down. Test backs Lita to the barrier, but Matt nails him from behind. Meanwhile, in the ring, Booker sets Jeff for the scissor kick when the Undertaker runs down and hits the Last Ride on Booker. Swanton by Jeff as the ref rushes back in 1-2-3! The Hardys win the WCW Tag Belts! Credit to RajahWWF.com Top April 24, 2001 Title Won: WWF European Championship Won From: Eddie Guerrero Location: Denver, CO Held until: August 27, 2001 Lost To: The Hurricane Summary: Eddie Guerrero defended the European Championship against Matt Hardy on the April 24, 2001 edition of SmackDown! With the referee distracted, Lita went up to the top rope and nailed Eddie with a hurricanrana. A Twist of Fate later, Matt Hardy scored the pin to win the European Championship! Held until: March 19, 2001 Lost To: Edge & Christian Summary: The Hardy Boyz won their fourth World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship after defeating the Dudley Boyz with help from two men from which they'd least expect it - Edge & Christian, who were still sore about losing the belts to the Dudleys at the 2001 Royal Rumble. When D-Von when to get the table, Christian chaired him in the back. When Bubba Ray went to chase Christian, D-Von took the Twist of Fate from Matt Hardy and was pinned to crown the Hardy Tag Team Champions. WWFTitleHistory.com Top October 24, 2000 Title Won: WWF Tag Team Championship Won From: Edge & Christian Location: Hartford, CT Held until: November 7, 2000 Lost To: Bull Buchanan & Goodfather Summary: The Hardy Boyz pulled a fast one on Edge & Christian to become three-time World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions. Edge & Christian were totally confident they would defeat Los Conquistadors to become tag champions. But just before the match, Edge found Christian laying on a broken table. In agony, Christian said he was attacked by the Dudley Boyz and that he hurt his shoulder. Edge then proclaimed that he would take on Los Conquistadors alone. But the men in gold looked eerily like the Hardys, and Edge was suddenly pinned after a Swanton Bomb! The Conquistadors then revealed themselves to be Matt and Jeff Hardy after Christian came out to ask what was going on. Amidst the confusion, Commissioner Mick Foley revealed "double secret footage" of Edge & Christian conspiring with two strangers. Foley then told E & C that they defied his mandate at No Mercy that said they were no longer to receive a title shot against the Hardys. Since Foley admired their creativity, he allowed E & C's title win over the Hardys at No Mercy to stand. However, he also allowed the Los Conquista-Hardys' victory to stand. WWFTitleHistory.com Top September 24, 2000 Title Won: WWF Tag Team Championship Won From: Edge & Christian Location: Philadelphia, PA Held until: October 23, 2000 Lost To: Edge & Christian Summary: The epic rivalry between the Hardy Boyz and Edge & Christian continued at Unforgiven 2000, where Matt and Jeff Hardy won their second World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship in a Steel Cage Tag Team Match. Late in the contest, Jeff threw a ladder at Christian to knock him off the cage, and climbed the ladder to execute a corkscrew moonsault from off the top of the cage on Edge and Matt! Lita then took Christian out of the picture with a low blow and a head scissor takeover off the ladder. Edge tried to escape, but the Hardys sandwiched two chairs around Edge's head, and Edge fell back first from the top of the cage to the mat. This allowed the Hardys to escape and leave Philadelphia with the Tag Team Titles. Held until: April 27, 2000 Lost To: Crash Summary: On the April 24, 2000, episode of SmackDown!, Matt Hardy defeated Crash to win the Hardcore Championship in front of his hometown fans of North Carolina! Held until: July 25, 1999 Lost To: The Acolytes Summary: The night before the Acolytes' World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship defense against the Hardy Boyz, Bradshaw was the victim of a Tombstone Piledriver on top of steel steps. It would play a factor in Matt and Jeff winning their first Tag Team Championship. While Faarooq dealt with Michael Hayes' distraction on the ringside apron, Jeff Hardy hit Bradshaw over the head with Hayes' cane. Matt Hardy followed up with a Tornado DDT to pin Bradshaw to win the tag titles in Fayetteville, N.C., not far from the Hardys' hometown of Cameron, N.C.
