As the commercial break ends, we go backstage to see Rey Mysterio talking on his cell phone.
Mysterio: Yeah, things are getting pretty crazy around here. I could really use a little backup, just incase. Tell you what, I'll pay for your ticket if you come with me next week. (pauses) Alright man, I'll talk to you later. I have to get out to the ring for my match. See ya.
"Better Version" hits the speakers, and Jack Thomas steps out onto the entryway. He raises his arms, walks down the aisle, and slides into the ring. The arena goes dark, and "619" begins to play. Rey Mysterio leaps up from beneath the platform and through a shower of sparks as the lights come back on. He runs down to the ring and dives in. He hops on the turnbuckle and signals to God.
Thomas runs over to hit Mysterio, but Mysterio is expecting it. He jumps off the turnbuckle and hits a Huricanrana. He gets up, springboards off the middle rope, and hits a cross-body. Pin 1... 2... Kick out. They both get up, and Mysterio snapmares him over and dropkicks the back of his head. He hops onto the top turnbuckle and hits a Guillotine Legdrop. Pin 1... 2... Kick out. Mysterio then goes for a Lionsualt, but Thomas gets his knees up. He gets up and suplexes Mysterio. He tries to apply an Armbar, but Mysterio spins out, gets behind him, and hits a German Suplex. Mysterio then applies his own Armbar. Thomas barely reaches the ropes, and Mysterio breaks the hold. Thomas tries to spear him, but Mysterio jumps over and pulls him through with a Sunset Flip. Pin 1... 2... Kick out. Both men stand up and turn around. Thomas hits a quick kick to Mysterio's head, and Mysterio drops to one knee. Thomas grabs him from behind and puts him in the Dragon Sleeper. Mysterio manages to stand up, still in the hold. He back flips over Thomas' shoulder and hits a Rear Naked Choke Drop.
JA: That was an incredible maneuver by Mysterio. He truly is an innovative wrestler.
BH: Let me guess, 'I wish I could do that.' Forget it kid. You suck in the ring, plain and simple. Some people are born talented, like myself, and some are born losers, like you.
JA: That was uncalled-for.
BH: Quit cryin' you wuss.
Mysterio stomps Thomas a few times and then hits a Flip Splash. He quickly follows it up with a Standing Moonsault. Pin 1... 2... Kick out. He punches Thomas in the head a few times and runs across the ring. Thomas stands up as Mysterio rebounds off the ropes. Thomas catches him with a powerslam. Pin 1... 2... Kick out. He applies a Side Headlock and pulls Mysterio to his feet. Mysterio pushes him into the ropes. Thomas bounces off the ropes and hits a Flying Forearm. Mysterio lands on the middle rope, and Thomas decides to try the 619! Mysterio dodges it and hops onto Thomas' shoulders for a Hurricanrana. Thomas catches him and tosses him to the ropes. Mysterio plants his feet on the top rope and springboards back into a West Coast Pop! Pin 1... 2... 3!
JA: Mysterio wins it with another incredible move. Thomas never even saw it coming. Mysterio is moving on to the second round of the Gauntlet.
BH: That was a cheap surprise attack. Mysterio doesn't deserve to move on.
Mysterio celebrates with the fans on his way back to the locker room. Thomas gets up in the ring and get extremely angry. He flips out and starts kicking the turnbuckles. He rolls outside and knocks over the steps. He then grabs Jack Wilson and punches him in the head. Thomas grabs Wilson's chair and whacks a nearby cameraman, then members of the ring crew that were standing around the ring. He throws the chair at a fan and walks up the aisle.
JA: Oh my. He's really upset about that loss. I don't think the other Pure Bloods will be happy either.
BH: Well, they shouldn't be. They just got screwed.
