Rules

Welcome to the EWF!
Congratulations! You have just taken your first step into a much larger world. You are joining the E-Wrestling Federation; the greatest web-based Fantasy Wrestling League designed for “The Arm-Chair Promoter”. In the EWF you create your own imaginary wrestler and manage his career. You tell us everything about him, and then enter him into battle against other wrestlers created by other players. Although we use a computer to determine the wins and losses, you are not playing against a computer-you are actually competing against other players! You can form alliances and stables, enter into grudge matches, the possibilities are endless.

This handbook is designed to acquaint you with all the different aspects of the EWF, which combine to make it so enjoyable. Please read it thoroughly before you begin competing in the EWF and never hesitate to email questions or rule clarifications. Congratulations again on joining the best wrestling game anywhere. We’re working hard to make sure you’re not disappointed.

Hold Values
When you fill out the Official Sign-up Sheet, you will be asked to choose ten (10) Wear-down holds and five (5) Set-up holds from our list of 90. For every match session, or “card” the EWF will assign each hold or maneuver a point value, which determines how effective it will be for that card.

For the 60 Wear-down holds the values range from 1-30 points so that two holds are each worth 1 point, two are worth 2 points, up to a value of 30 points. For the 30 Set-up holds the values range from 31-45 points so that two moves are worth 31 points, two moves are worth 32 points, etc.

** There is no formula for determining the hold values so that no one can gain an unfair advantage; therefore, no set of holds will ever be the same value two cards in a row! **

Matches
You the manager create the EWF matches. You pick your opponents or partners from the list of wrestlers on the EWF roster; you can choose anyone you want. The EWF will help initiating feuds to get you started and make any card changes as necessary. You can compete in any kind of known match: Singles, Tag-Team, Six-Man, 3-Way Dance or Handicapped. You can also choose any type of Specialty match imaginable: Steel Cage, First Blood, Table, Survivor Series, etc. Note: The type of match has no bearing on the outcome, it just adds to the fun. To compete in a specialty match just write the type of match you want to be in along with your wrestler’s name and his opponent’s name.

How Matches Are Won
When you challenge another wrestler to a match, the value of your first hold is compared to the value of your opponent’s first hold. If your hold is valued higher, your wrestler is awarded the difference in points. If your opponent’s hold is valued higher, then they are awarded the difference in points. Next the second holds are compared in the same way, etc., until a winner is declared. Note: If a wrestler loses six straight holds or “falls” the match is stopped; this is known as a “Squash”.

A match can go through all 15 moves in which case the wrestler with the most accumulated points will win. Example: at the end of the 15 hold match, wrestler A finishes with 23 points and wrestler B finishes with 18 points; Wrestler A would be declared the winner by a 5-point margin. This margin of victory will be listed on the Match Summary Sheet, which will be posted on the EWF Report that will be available to all managers after the matches on the EWF Website. The Match Summary Sheet will list all of that show’s matches and the point totals for each wrestler or team. Whichever move the match ends on will be listed as the Finisher. If the match ends after all 15 moves have been compared, then the wrestler’s “Finisher” will be listed. If both wrestlers end up with an equal number of points after all 15 holds have been compared, the match will be declared a Draw and will automatically have a rematch signed for the next card. A wrestler can win with a zero-point margin if he wins six straight holds over his opponent and they both end up with the same number of points at that hold; this is not a draw, it is still a squash. In a tag match the highest value of each hold for each team is compared to the highest value of the opponents holds in the same way as a singles match. Example: Tag team A’s first move’s values are 4 and 8; their first hold value is 8. Team B’s first moves are 9 and 2; their first hold value is 9. Team B wins the first hold 9 to 8 for a +1 score.

Win-Loss Records
Wrestlers’ records are listed as wins-losses-ties. A record of 22-8-4 means that wrestler has won 22 matches, lost 8, and had 4 draws.

Only Singles matches count against your record, as it would be unfair to give you a loss for another opponent getting squashed in a Triple-threat match. For this reason, all managers involved must agree upon their matches before the show. The EWF reserves the right to change or alter matches, or set up feuds based upon results of Triple-threat or other Specialty matches. *The EWF wants to have fun by creating a “real” wrestling promotion and discourages seeing the same wrestlers fighting each other show after show; we’re fans just like you and want to have an enjoyable wrestling experience. Note: A wrestler can “drop” his record (have it reset to 0-0-0) in order to improve his ranking at any time by notifying the EWF before a scheduled match.

EWF Report
Federation Reports are a listing of all federation activity, which will be periodically posted on the EWF website. The report will contain among other things, the most current roster, Federation champions, Standings and Records, and Card results. The match results show the winner, loser, winning hold, total points, and margin of victory. Rankings will be created based upon win-loss record and overall match performance. Example, a wrestler who does not win a series of Triple-threat matches can still be ranked higher than a wrestler who has a better win-loss record. These reports will contain many features that are random and only add to color and realism to the results. These features include: Cities and attendance of shows, comments and challenges made to wrestlers, and any other relative information.

Choosing Opponents
Each week, you will need to submit an Official Signup Sheet by email. This form is used to list all of your wrestler’s holds. Along with this form you will need to include in your email your chosen opponent and match type. Check the Message Board of the EWF website to see who is challenging you. Start a feud by “calling out” another wrestler; have fun with it, the more trash-talking the better. Remember, only call out other wrestlers, do not get personal and talk about other managers, we want everyone to have an enjoyable experience so Keep It Clean. Once we have received a match request and both managers have agreed upon, the match will be “booked” for the next card. Have fun with it; include any special plans for the match in your email. Are you gonna swerve your partner by signing up for a tag match, then walk out on him putting him into a handicap match? Are you going to form a stable at the next card to set up a new feud? Are you going to request a Guest Referee so that you can “accidentally” jump him and get a title shot? Mix it up, just tell us about it and we’ll post the mayhem in the next EWF Report.

Federation Champions
The first champion will be crowned after the first card. The wrestler who has the highest point total will be awarded the title. After the champion has been declared all contenders will be determined by their overall rankings. Only the top five (5) contenders can challenge for the Champion’s title. Again, all matches must be agreed upon by both managers and can be altered by the EWF to create new “storylines”. Example, the champion does not believe the challenger is worthy of a title shot; the EWF can book a 3-Way Dance to determine the number one contender for the next card.

The number of champions will be voted on and determined by all members of the Federation. We will begin with only a Federation Champion until the roster has grown enough to warrant more champions. We can have a U.S. Champ, an Intercontinental Champ, or a TV Champion. Tag Team rankings can be created in order to have a Tag Team title, or a Six-Man Tag, it’s up to the members of the league.

Manager Options
A manager can create or retire wrestlers at any time. Please allow at least one card for any changes to take affect. Inform the EWF that you are adding to the roster by submitting a new Sign-up Sheet. A master list of all managers’ wrestlers and their email addresses will be kept by the EWF for the purpose of contacting each other. A manager may add as many wrestlers as they want, but it is their responsibility to keep track of each wrestler’s match request and strategy. If you have two wrestlers but only send a Sign-up sheet for one of them, the wrestler without a move list will not compete on that card and their ranking could suffer.
No manager can take control of another manager’s wrestler, even if that wrestler has been retired. You cannot “share” a wrestler with another manager. You also may not submit match requests or moves for another manager or wrestler you do not own. Any manager that is unable to submit a match request for their wrestler will not compete on that card. Note: Just because you have two wrestlers doesn’t mean they should always team together, don’t be afraid to form new friendships with other managers. Play both sides of the fence, create a “Face” wrestler and form an alliance with another Hero. Then create a “Heel” and form a stable (don’t think your wrestlers can always fight against each other either). A manager can also choose to bring their wrestler “out of retirement” for special occasions, but his record will be reset (0-0-0) each time.

Cheating
The EWF has gone to great length to ensure that no manager gains an unfair advantage over another. Hold values are randomly determined before each card and are kept completely hidden until it becomes time for scoring the matches. This makes it possible for us, the creators of the EWF to also be managers of wrestlers and assure everyone that even we don’t have an advantage. The EWF will confirm matches and holds to ensure wrestlers’ are only being represented by their own manager.

Any manager found attempting to cheat in any way, will be expelled from the EWF. We intend to keep the EWF fair and fun for all of our players.

Winning Tips
The key to success in the EWF is to change your strategy often. The point value of each hold is constantly changing; therefore, what works for you in this match may not be good enough the next. Remember that your hold order is very important, put your strongest holds at the 5th and 10th position of your strategy. That way, no one can defeat you 6 holds in a row for a Squash win.

In tag matches, alternate your best Set-up holds for each wrestler. Use one wrestler’s strongest moves earlier in your strategy and later for the other wrestler so that you’re always assured of having the best possible point value for each move.

***Amendments***

**Triple Threat and Fatal Fourway Matches DO count against your overall record. The winner will receive the victory and all other competitors pick up a loss.

**Managers will use the Web board on the EWF Website in order to issue challenges and set up matches. A match will be officially booked after the challenge is accepted or EWF Management sanctions the match.

**Mike Guns has officially been promoted to Sgt. Of Arms and is an Officer of EWF Management.

**A wrestler cannot hold more than one major singles title at any one time. Titles considered being major singles titles: EWF World and North American Championships. The wrestler holding two major singles titles will be given the choice of which title they choose to defend; the other title will be stripped and declared Vacant until a new champion can be crowned.

**The EWF Hardcore Championship is added to allow all EWF wrestlers an opportunity to compete for a title. The Hardcore title is not considered a major singles title and may be held along with another title. Unlike other titles, the champion does not have to accept the challenge or be notified of his opponent. Any active EWF wrestler may submit a challenge to the EWF Office and challenge for the Hardcore Title. If more than one wrestler submits a request for a given week then multiple matches can be sanctioned.
