Out of Character Thoughts
I have a feeling people hate me at the moment. I hope no one does. I dont want to have any real life fueds between any of you. What I say and what I do in my RPs are just that: RPs. They are fake, they are simply views of a character I portray. I am not some big jerky egotist in real life, I just play one on TV. So please, dont hate me, the creator, Travis, hate Chris Cortez, the creation. He might say what I tell him to say, and he might do what I tell him to do. But, that dosent mean I agree with any of it. Hope some of you can understand that I mean no harm, its all fun and games, right? I hope.
Role Play Information

Characters Mentioned: Vertigo, Killjoy, the Beast, Allen Rage and Morgan Blackthrone
Characters Used: Syd and Cameraman
Date: 10-28-02
Location: Colonial Stadium

[Scene: We open up in an empty arena, not just any empty arena, but the very arena that will be the host of LSW action come Tuesday, which is that of Colonial Stadium. The camera looks around at all the empty seats, not a soul in sight, or a lost soul, however you want to look about it. Well, this fact, isn't totally that, a fact, for there are but two bodies, minus the cameraman, which currently inhabit the arena. Those bodies belonging to that of the LSW World Heavyweight Champion and "One Man Boyband", Chris Cortez. The other, along with him as always, is his faithful manager Syd.

Chris Cortez works out in the ring and does drills and practices as his LSW World Heavyweight Title just sits on the ropes, watching on. The cameraman is in the turnbuckle, as he watches Chris Cortez work and Syd cheer him on. This goes on for a few good minutes as the cameraman sighs and checks his watch. Syd seeing this, rolls his eyes and tells Chris to take a rest and do his thing. Chris Cortez stops and looks a bit mad at the cameraman as Syd throws him a bottle of water, drinking it down, as he begins to speak his mind]

Chris Cortez: Look at this. Look at all that is around us. Look at all those empty seats. Empty seats that come tomorrow will be occupied by the butts of all those paying ticket-holders. Of course, there WILL be those who wont pay, simply sneaking in, there's always one or two dozen of them. Nonetheless, all those who come will witness the end of an era.

[Chris Cortez looks around the place as he just takes a bit whiff of the air and smiles as he breaths out]

Chris Cortez: Can you smell it? Can you feel it? Can you feel the countdown clock reaching its climactic end? Indeed, the end is coming. The end of an era, the end of the past, it all will end tomorrow night. Tomorrow night. Tomorrow night. What a night it will be. Tomorrow night be history in the making, for it will BE history, it will be the official beginning of a new chapter in LSW History. A whole new chapter, a whole new slate, a whole new beginning. Of course, for every new beginning, its a whole other end. That end, as Ive said, is the end of the past, the end of all that is wrong with LSW, which we all know is that of Vertigo and Killjoy.

[Chris Cortez just looks around the arena once more, but then looks down at the mat]

Chris Cortez: Tomorrow night, a war will ravage this ring, a war like no other. Tomorrow night, the likes of Killjoy and Vertigo, much like those tyrants of the past, will meet their end. Tomorrow night, Vertigo and Killjoy will come to their Waterloo. Their last stand. Their last ditch effort.

[Chris Cortez just stands there, looking at the mat, as he collects his thoughts]

Chris Cortez: Now, I have heard the words of them, and I have also heard the words that Killjoy's opponent, the Beast, speaks. He speaks of not being my pal, my friend. This is quite true. We are not friends, we are not buddies or pals, no, we are simply two guys aligned under the same common goal. Sound familiar? Yeah. I thought so. Its the same deal with Vertigo and Killjoy. They are not buddies or pals, they are simply enemies aligned for one purpose: to defeat those who endanger their positions of power within the LSW. Me and the Beast? We are aligned for the reverse purpose: to see them out of said power and to see them gone, FOR GOOD.

[Chris Cortez looks around again at the empty arena, just looking around, as he soaks it all in]

Chris Cortez: Tomorrow night, we will do just that. Him to Killjoy. Me to Vertigo. A group effort. Even if we done like each other, agree with each other, It doesn't matter. What matters is that we take out the old and bring in the new. THAT is all that matters. Now, as for the Beast, Morgan and the likes of Allen Rage wanting a shot at me and my title.

[Chris Cortez looks over at his LSW World Heavyweight Title, as it just hands there on the turnbuckle]

Chris Cortez: Well, in my eyes you are all members of the new generation that will be ushered in come tomorrow night, as the old garbage will finally be taken out. Such matches of Me vs. the likes of any of you, will be just what this federation needs. FRESH faces. FRESH matches. FRESH ideas. Not the same old Vertigo and Killjoy crap. Not the same old Vertigo vs. Killjoy or Killjoy vs. ????? or Vertigo vs. ?????. Not the same old shtick from them, the same old moves and gimmicks. No.

[Chris Cortez just stares at the belt, thinking, as he nods his head, an idea in his head]

Chris Cortez: No. Not the same old crap. Not at all, In fact, I have a FRESH idea. Now, sense all three of you have recently put your names in the hat of those after my belt, I have a bit of an idea, or should I say, a compromise. How about, after the PPV, you three duke it out in a triple threat match? Winner becomes the No.1 Contender for MY title? How does that sound? I think that sounds nice. I also think it would be nice if all three off you we're to win your matches at the PPV. Such proven worth would be good to prove you worthy of being entered into such a match in the first place. Nonetheless, hopefully this idea will reach those who need to be reached, and you will all get your chance. Because, everyone deserves a chance.

[Chris Cortez looks away from the belt, and back around the arena, and then back at the mat again]

Chris Cortez: However, there ARE of course those who DO NOT deserve a chance. Those who are the true scum of the earth, who walk around with their noses in the air, misusing their backstage pull, and snuffing out those who they feel are "not worthy" or "up to their standards". These are the one's who do not deserve a chance. Do you require an example of such a person? Well, lets take my opponent tomorrow, Vertigo, as an example.

[Chris Cortez struts around the ring, with his nose held high as he speaks in a very nerdy voice]

Chris Cortez: I be-wait, I forgot to speak in THIRD PERSON! AHEM! VERTIGO BE MAD! VERTIGO FEEL HE DESERVE BETTER! VERTIGO AM BETTER. VERTIGO ARE BETTER CUZ VERTIGO IS LEGEND. VERTIGO YOUR GOD BE I AM! VERTIGO NEED NOT POWER, VERTIGO AM ANGRY MAN! VERTIGO BASH, VERTIGO SMASH! VERTIGO DEFEAT PUNY MORTAL CUZ VERTIGO GOT THE POWER TA DO!

[Chris Cortez stops as he just smiles and shakes his head]

Chris Cortez: Man, Vertigo talks about how what I say is a complete waste of time? Man, If I had to sit through another "VERTIGO = GOOD" speech one more time, I think Id kill myself out of sheer boredom. Thank god I wont have to after tomorrow night. No more will I have to listen to Vertigo's pathetic words, his LOOOOONG BOOOOORRRRRINNNG WWWOOORRRRDDSSS. No more will I have to sit back and watch his pathetic has-been body try to carry itself from room to room doing interviews. No more. For Vertigo will be no more.

[Chris Cortez shakes his head]

Chris Cortez: No. No more Vertigo. So, so, so sad, isn't it? I mean, who will we turn to when we need a rambling old man to remind us of past events none of us even give a damn about? Who will we turn to when we need another has-been to wrestle another match? Well, I suppose there is always those other has-beens from the past like Ash and company. Now hey, there's an idea! What would be better for you Vertigo, to just relax, in your retirement home and whenever the LSW actually NEEDS you, you could conveniently show up and lose to someone. Yeah, I mean, hey, just come on and join your LSW past brethren. Join Ash, been losing and not showing up for months! Hey now, lets not forget Dissident, man, all that talking, but none of the walking against Vega! The list goes on my friend, and look for your name to be upon it, as that is where you are headed.

[Chris Cortez smiles and nods his head in agreement to his own statement]

Chris Cortez: Indeed. Sadly, for you, that is where you are headed. You know that as well. You know that in a few weeks, your'll be just like people like Ash or Dissident. Pathetic reminders of LSW's past and what it USED to be, if anything. Your'll go out every so often against some new blood, lose, collect your money and go waste it on more beer and drugs as you waste your pathetic life away. You know that is your future. You know it. You know it and it scares you. Your scared about going from such a legendary warrior to a humble and forgetful foot solider. I guess you could simple say, your scared of change.

[Chris Cortez just smiles and nods]

Chris Cortez: I know you are. Its been said before, but until it finally sinks into your brain and the brains of those who are doubtful, I will continue to say it. For you can go on forever doubting my words, not believing them, but deep down, no matter how much you try not to come to terms with them, in the end, you know deep down that they are indeed true. You know that indeed, you are scared. Scared of this change. Scared of no longer being on top, with your old beaten down has-been body replaced by fresher and more better blood. Your afraid of becoming nothing, which is in your future, while I will become something, in my future.

[Chris Cortez has a weird look to him, as he continues]

Chris Cortez: You know this. It is this which eats you up inside. Its this which makes you run around like a chicken with its head cut off, knowing its only a matter of time till you will stop running around. To keep the time on the clock, to stay at the top, you buy yourself time. Buy time from only that which could save such a pathetic has-been career such as yours. That supplier being of course: Management. Ohhhh, Vertigo, such a legendary warrior, stooping to such lowly levels. What kind of example are you setting for our children? Tsk. Tsk.

[Chris Cortez smiles as he continues]

Chris Cortez: Such a bad example. I mean, what ever happened to working the hard way? Working day by day and putting your all into it, so that you could get much more out of it? What happened to that? Could you just not handle it? Could you just not hold on to the ladder? Of course not. So, what did you do? Why, you asked for a little boost up that ladder, and this help? Why, management of course!

[Chris Cortez shakes his head in disappointment]

Chris Cortez: Vertigo. You say I lie. That I have none of the facts. Well, FACT: Vertigo is a washed up has-been. FACT: Vertigo's legacy is tainted by corporate blood. FACT: Vertigo never did much on his own, he always relied on help from someone, wither it be a stable, manager, or of course, management. FACT: Vertigo is apart of the LSW's horrible past. FACT: The past of LSW is nothing anymore, it means nothing and it will forever mean nothing to anyone. FACT: Therefore, Vertigo means nothing and will forever mean nothing. Hell, I could go on and on, could even write a book, a college thesis on the comparison between Vertigo and the past and how he is nothing but a pathetic has-been. I really could, but, I don't want to waste anyone times.

[Chris Cortez lets out a mere chuckle]

Chris Cortez: Now, on the subject of wasting people's time, I think that great honor would go to Vertigo. For, just sticking around, and stinking up the place with his presence, he is just wasting all of our time. While younger blood could be getting their times to shine in the spotlight, we've instead got grumpy old men like Vertigo who feel that they still deserve it. When, we all know, they don't. They don't deserve it. Like the old farts they are, they continue to hang around, stinking up the place like old garbage. Tomorrow night, it will be time for ME to take out the trash. oh, gee, sorry for all the analogies again, I know your old weak mind has no such concept of them. Try to make the connection though.

[Chris Cortez looks around the arena again]

Chris Cortez: For, in the end, the connection will indeed be made. The connection that all I have said is true. The past is dead. The past is nothing. Much like you Vertigo, who is stuck in the past. You are dead. You are nothing. Yet, no matter how much time goes by, and no matter how much you keep on stinking up the place, you still cant make the connection. Maybe the connection of a little Mic Check will help. As my foot connects with your chin. Or, maybe the connection of your head hitting the mat. Maybe that will help make the connection. Or, maybe, the real connection will come as you lay there, on the mat, beaten, as the 1, 2, 3 is counted.

[Chris Cortez looks a bit seriously at the camera]

Chris Cortez: Maybe it will be then, when you have lost and proven for what you really are is when you will make the connection. At that moment, you will know. You will know that you are nothing. You are a has-been. You, much like the past, are dead. And much like the past, you will fade into nothing. Nothing but a mere memory. A mere page or two in a history book. Indeed, Vertigo, your end, much like the end of the past of LSW, will come tomorrow night. Yes, the countdown still ticks. It ticks down. Ticking down to the end, the end of it all. Tick, Tock Vertigo. Tick, Tock.

[Chris Cortez evilly smiles as he picks up his LSW World Heavyweight Title. Syd opens the ropes for him as he heads to the outside, Syd following him all the while. As they head to the back, the same countdown clock we've seen for bout a week now appears on the Huge Screen O' LSW, continuing its countdown...]
