[Scene: We open up this promo within the confines of a very familiar place, mainly the gym down the street from Blind Willie's Bar. The place is filled with the usual suspects, huge muscled men and women getting in their daily workout. Clanking machinery is heard all over as metal hits metal. Sweat drips like rivers and sports drinks are consumed. Amongst all this, we find Chris Cortez and his ever faithful companion Syd in the corner of the metal jungle. Hidden in the corner as Chris Cortez is benching and Syd sits next to him counting and egging him on]

Syd: C'mon, 98...99...

[Chris Cortez strains to lift the last one]

Syd: C'mon! Your pathetic! Your worthless! Your-

[A look of anger goes across the face of Chris Cortez]

Chris Cortez: IM THE TRUE TALENTED SUPER MEGA STAR!

[With his yelling, a burst of energy follows as he lifts it up one more time and then puts it down. He falls back, sweaty and tired, as he gasps for breath]

Syd: 100. Good, now take a rest.

Chris Cortez: Way ahead of you.

[Chris Cortez just lays there as he grabs a bottle of water and chugs it down]

Syd: So, you hear the latest words from your opponent on Tuesday?

[Chris Cortez chuckles a little]

Chris Cortez: Sure did. That Sadslum, he just doesn't get it, does he?

Syd: What do you mean?

Chris Cortez: I mean the fact that he says that I cannot call myself the TRUE TALENTED SUPER MEGA STAR or a TRUE LEGEND, all because I lost to Killjoy! PAH-LEASE! I am still a TRUE LEGEND, I am still the TRUE TALENTED SUPER MEGA STAR! No one will ever take that away from me, especially not the fake-Legend Killjoy or Sadslum Suplex.

[Chris Cortez takes another sip of his water]

Chris Cortez: You see, the reason why I lost isn't because Killjoy is better than me, no of course not! The reason why I lost isn't because Killjoy is more talented than me, of course not! The reason why I lost isn't because Killjoy is more of a legend then me, oh no, of course not!

Syd: Then what is the reason?

Chris Cortez: Im getting to that! Jeesh!

Syd: Ok, sorry, continue.

Chris Cortez: Thank You. Anywhom, as I was saying. The reason why I lost the match against Killjoy isn't thanks to his hands. No. The reason why I lost is all thanks to the Almighty Dollar.

Syd: The Almighty Dollar?

Chris Cortez: Yes. The Almighty Dollar, or, as some call it, Money. Money is the very essence, the very stuff, that corrupts people. Makes them do whatever it takes to get it, to own it, to have it all. Money has toppled companies, has destroyed countries, started wars and is the reason for the death of millions. Money, is the root of all evil. The evil in this picture I am painting is Killjoy and the LSW Management.

Syd: Haven't we heard this explanation before?

Chris Cortez: Will you shutup! Im trying to make a point! Now, as Ive said, Killjoy is their cash cow. He brings the fans, they bring the money. To keep the fans coming and to keep their money rolling in, they let Killjoy do what he wants and in doing so, let him run wild. They let him make stipulations, cross them out, make matches, you name it, he has that power. The LSW Management and Killjoy knew that he would lose badly to me in our match, so instead of having Killjoy lose everything, they had me lose everything!

[Chris Cortez drinks more of his water]

Chris Cortez: Was it just to keep Killjoy in his spot, to keep their money rolling in? Or was it also a threat? Was I an example to everyone in the LSW? That if you try and steal Killjoy's spot, if you try to go up against him and in doing so, against the LSW Management, you will get knocked back down to square one? Is that the lesson in all of this?

Syd: I don't know.

Chris Cortez: Niether do I. However, whatever the case, I will not just sit back and let all this happen. I will not let the cycle keep on turning, I will break it and when it comes my turn, I certainly will not give in to the power of the Almighty Dollar! I will not give in so easily to the power of it, or the power of the LSW Management like Killjoy has, or even Vertigo.

Syd: What are you talking about?

Chris Cortez: Don't you see? Its like a cycle. A never ending cycle. A person become champ and lets his ego and the money cloud his vision. He uses this new acquired power to get what he wants and make sure he always has what he wants. Its a never ending cycle. Back when Vertigo held the title, Killjoy was the main man after his title. Killjoy, who had a taste of the power, who had once aligned himself with LSW Management, wanted that power back. Vertigo, who now had it, used his power and the power of the LSW Management to keep Killjoy at bay.

[Chris Cortez nods his head]

Chris Cortez: Yet, Killjoy found a way. He found a way through their power wall and broke though, now he is the champ. Now, he is the power hungry champion who has the LSW Management in his pocket. Thus, the cycle continues. For, I am now just like Killjoy was, trying to topple the power and become the top spot of this federation. Unlike him, Vertigo, and all those who came before them, I will not let the Almighty Dollar consume me, I will not give in to the power!

[Syd just rolls his eyes, not believing him]

Syd: Yeah, of course you wont. Its not like you want all that power for yourself or nothing.

Chris Cortez: No, of course not! Now, enough of Killjoy, lets talk about Sadslum some more. He said that a TRUE LEGEND like me isn't a TRUE TALENTED SUPER MEGA STAR because I lost to Killjoy? PAH-LEASE! The Almighty Dollar can swallow even the mightiest of Legends whole, even me. Even a big and dumb tough guy like Sadslum cant overcome its power. You have to have that special something like Killjoy did, to find the crack in the wall and get past it. To overcome it and take it down. I have that special quality, for I am a TRUE LEGEND and a TRUE TALENTED MEGA STAR!

[Chris Cortez gets up and does some stretches]

Chris Cortez: Its just sad that Sadslum Suplex cant see that. His vision is clouded of the truth because he lives in this fantasy world we're he is the best and everyone is nothing. He needs to understand that muscles arint everything, you need brains too, something he doesn't have. Come TRTN, It'll be like Brains against Brawn. Who will win? You do the math. Its so easy, Im surprised Sadslum hasn't figure it out yet.

[Chris Cortez continues to stretch]

Chris Cortez: Then again, Sadslum Suplex is so childish. He's like the big bully on the playground. He's got so many emotional problems and the brain the size of a peanut, that he uses this as an inferiority complex. He gets mad at people who are better than him. He's getting mad at me, because he knows, like I know, like everyone knows, that I am better than him. Its sad he needs to resort to this childish name calling he's been doing as of late, just to make himself feel better. I mean, I cant help it If Im better than him, I just am!

[Chris Cortez, done with his stretch, lays back down ready to do some benching]

Chris Cortez: But, sense his pea sized brain just cant figure that out he, as Ive said, resorts to his childish name calling. Calling me Chipmunk instead of Chris Cortez. All just because he found some CD with my music in the voice of that like Alvin and the Chipmunks? PAH-LEASE. At least he could TRY to come up with something, you know, ORIGINAL. Such an insult is pathetic. Hardly am I insulted. Hey, for every CD that sells, for every song that's played, I get paid. So, hey, whatever!

[Syd gets up and is ready to spot Chris Cortez]

Chris Cortez: But, you know, since he does want to be so childish over all this, and resort to name calling, fine. Call me a chipmunk. Call me, Mr.Cheeks. Say I got a mouth full of nuts. Har Har. Funny. No, really, it is. Why? Because if there is anyone who's got more nuts in their mouth its him. Always sucking off of his tag team partner and all. Plus, we all know how he likes to take a beating from a lineup of men. I mean, there's no need for him to cover it up with a fake girlfriend story or whatever other piece of sh*t he's going to pull out of his ass next.

[Chris Cortez lifts up the barbell as he starts going up and down with it]

Chris Cortez: Come TRTN, Ill finally show him that I am everything I say I am, and much much more! Not even that power hungry referee called Killjoy can stop me from proving my point. Cuz, after Im done with Sadslum, Killjoy will be the next point to prove, he will be the exclamation mark. As I proclaim my rightful spot, his spot, and finally prove to all these skeptics, without a shadow of a doubt, I am, have always been and always will be, a TRUE TALENTED SUPER MEGA STAR LEGEND!
