[Scene: Morning. In the distance the sun rises over the horizon. No one on the streets yet, they are home in their beds about to get awoken by their annoying alarm clocks. Nope, no one on the streets. Well, almost no one. In the distance, over a hill we hear the sound of shoes hitting the pavement and a that of a bicycle wheel turning. The sound gets closer and closer as finally what's making the noise comes up above the hill to show its Chris Cortez and Syd. Chris Cortez runs along side Syd who is riding the bicycle cheering him on. The cameraman jogs along side them to see if he can get their comments or anything]
Syd: C'mon! C'mon! Pump those legs! Let's go!
Chris Cortez: Can we please take a break? Im f*cking tired!
Syd: Oh' c'mon! You think Killjoy will give you a break in the ring!? Move it!
[Chris Cortez keeps running as Syd keeps on peddling along side him]
Chris Cortez: I dont know how long I can do this. I feel like my chest is on fire.
Syd: That's good, that's good. Feel that pain, let it consume you. What you feel right now will be ten times worse in the ring. You need to learn to suck it up and take it and get right back up with no worry. So, c'mon! Let's get to it! Suck it up and keep on running!
[Chris Cortez keeps on running as he holds on to his side]
Chris Cortez: How many miles do I got left?
[Syd looks off into the distance]
Syd: Ohhh, Id say about a good 25 more miles.
[Chris Cortez looks at him shocked]
Chris Cortez: 25 more miles?! Time Out! Time Out!
[Chris Cortez stops and rests on a park bench, gasping for air, as Syd turns around on the bicycle and parks it next to the bench. He looks down at Chris Cortez, gasping wildly like a fish out of water.]
Syd: If you want to beat Killjoy, your going to have to be a lot tougher than this.
[Chris Cortez still trying to catch his breath just looks up at Syd]
Chris Cortez: Well, when you said we we're going to train last night, I didn't think you ment full force! What if the sparring partners, the punching bag, all the exercise, streches and what not! Then, after only about a couple hours of sleep, you wake me up to go out for a frigging jog! This is just too much!
[Syd angrily grabs Chris Cortez's face and puts it up to his]
Syd: Look. Look at me. You asked for this training, you are getting it. All of this, will prepare you for what you will have to endure. You think this training is tough? Wait till the real thing. This training, all it will do is help prepare you, you have to take it to the next level. You have to apply everything you have learned from all of this and use it in the match. If you don't, things wont be looking so hot. So, If I we're you I would be a man and suck it up. It only gets worse from here.
Chris Cortez: Yeah, but-
Syd: But what? Is this all too tough for you? Can you not handle it? If so, then just leave. Just pack up your bags and leave. Leave it all behind. The title, the glory, ANGEL, leave her and everything behind. Let Bishop Brother Blood's name go in vain. Let Killjoy win, that is what you are doing by not taking any of this seriously or learning from it. If you done want it, than done waste my f*cking time. Im starting to think that believing in you was a stupid move on my point, you are pathetic.
[Syd looks at Chris Cortez for a minute and than turns his bike around riding back the way they came. Chris Cortez watches him leave and sighs, as he suddenly closes his eyes. His body begins to tremble as his hands turn into tight closed fists. He jumps up and runs towards Syd which he grabs and throws to the ground. Standing above him, Chris Cortez looks down at him and points a finger at him]
Chris Cortez: No, done you leave! Done you turn your back on me! Done stop believing in me because I still believe in you! I still believe that you can train and help me and Im acting foolish by not letting you. I want this. I want the titles, I want the glory, and I want Angel back. I also done want having turned my back on my word to a dying man on my conscious for the rest of my life. I want this and I want you to train me. I need it. I have to win. Its now or never. Nothing or everything. And I am not going to be known as the one who let it all go and gave it all up.
[Syd just smiles as Chris Cortez extends a hand and helps him up to his feet]
Syd: That's what I like to hear! We have much more work to do. 25 more mile of this, which ends at the Denny's on the highway. After some breakfast, we run back to the gym for some more training in the afternoon. Believe me kid, your going to be sleeping hard and long tonight, your'll be fresh and ready for what tomorrow will bring.
[Chris Cortez smiles as he look down the road, in which he will be jogging down soon enough]
Chris Cortez: I look forward to tackling whatever obstacle gets in my way. Whatever it takes to reach my goal.
[Syd gets back on his bicycle as he looks down the same road]
Syd: Than why wait? Let's go.
[Syd pedals his way down the road, with Chris Cortez jogging right next to him. As they disappear over the horizon, the camera shuts off and fades to black.]
