Chapter 6

"You can't!" Desiree pleaded with Jeff before he walked into the room to go
find Leah.

"Des, you really aren't making any sense. What can't I do and why not?" Jeff
asked standing up the woman that was on her knees, pleading with him. "I
know you are drunk, but this is worse than I have ever seen you. Is Chloe
this bad?" He asked concerned for the two women.

"Jeff! I am not that drunk! I am serious! Don't go in there and use show and
tell on Leah. She can't know how you feel."

Jeff looked at her and sighed. "Going to tell me why?"

Desiree sighed in defeat, knowing she couldn't tell the young man why he
couldn't show his feelings towards Leah. If he found out that Chloe liked
him, both of his and Chloe's lives would be completely demolished. Never
mind what poor Leah would feel. Desiree also knew that if Leah got angry and
took it out on Chloe, Chloe wasn't going to take it well and they would
fight. They four musketeers as people called them, would be no longer.
"Because I love you." Desiree blurted out once Jeff went to walk into the
room.

He turned around and looked at her confused. "No you don't! You are in love
with Drew so don't confuse me! I want to go into that room and tell the
woman I love how I feel. What is the real reason Des? You can't get out of
this one."

Desiree searched his eyes and knew they only way to get out of it was to
kiss him but she would not do that. "I do Jeff. I love you." She said trying
to sound sincere.

Jeff put his hand to Desiree's forehead and sighed. "I swear there was a
temperature. Wait, I know what is going on. Leah has done a runner, hasn't
she?"

Desiree laughed. "Like she would!"

Jeff smiled then went to go into the room.

"Jeff! Please, let me say this." She said and Jeff stopped and turned around
again. "You know how people live up to their last names and all? You know
how you can tell what people's last name is by the way they act. And do you
remember that phase of flirting where someone is really mean to you because
they like you? You know someone like that." Desiree said walking off,
knowing that Jeff was going to forget all she said and make love to Leah.

Jeff looked at her confused. Actually, never before had he been so confused.
He shook his head and went into the room. He couldn't see Leah anywhere so
he went looking and heard the shower running. His perfect opportunity but
Desiree's words were holding him back. He shook his head again and walked
into the bathroom, containing the shower. He sneaked up behind her and she
grinned as he wrapped his arms around her body, kissing her neck softly.

Leah giggled. "Is that a top I feel?"

"Yep." Jeff said kissing her temple then her shoulder blade.

"It needs to be removed I'm sure." She said turning around and Jeff's heart
began to beat faster and faster as he looked at her up down.

"Wow." He said breathless.

Leah smiled and placed her lips on his. She knew that Jeff should be kissing
her back, he had always kissed her back, but he was a little hesitant. "You
okay baby? I noticed you weren't exactly kissing me back there."

Jeff just swallowed hard and smiled. He kissed her again but his lips just
didn't seem to move like they had done. "Sorry." Jeff said leaving the room
before he could look at Leah again.

Leah looked at the closed door and rubbed a hand over her face, pushing
aside the threatening tears. She slowly turned off the taps and slowly
grabbed a towel, not sure if she should actually be leaving the room or not
after Jeff just abandoned her in such a venerable place and time. She
wrapped a towel around her body and one around her hair and walked out of
the room slowly, looking around for Jeff but only found his soft lips on
hers again.

"I thought you left me." She said shocked to feel his lips against hers.

Jeff shook his head. "I forgot to make the room as beautiful as you." He
said kissing her. "But then I realised that it doesn't matter because
whenever you walk into the room, it is beautiful."

Leah blushed at his sweet words then took his hand as he offered it.

"Lee, tonight I was planning to do something people call show and tell. But
I think I will show if that is alright." He said seeing her eyebrows lift in
the middle. "Don't be confused." He said giving her a kiss. He kissed her
neck and she smiled, knowing what he wanted.

"Can you say it first?" She asked Jeff. "It would be better if you did."

Jeff smiled; knowing he was planning to tell her anyway but as he opened his
mouth, expecting the words to flow out, they didn't and the thoughts of what
Desiree said took over his mind.

"Let me guess.." Leah said sadly. "You're sorry?"

Jeff nodded and leaned back against the couch. "Its just Deisree said some
stuff.." He said but Leah cut him off.

"Des should be saying good things Jeff. Has she turned her back on me?"

"No." Jeff said truthfully. "She just was standing up for someone."

"I bet it is Chloe. You wouldn't be having trouble saying that you love me
or even showing me if CHLOE wasn't here! She hates me! Well she is going to
know about me when I get mad."

"Wait Leah, you don't know that it was about Chloe."

"I bet the bitch said she likes you."

"The only things she says to me is that I have problems with my sexuality or
I am gender challenged or even without a reproductive organ."

"Jeff, haven't you noticed? She is flirting with you!"

'Shit' was all that Jeff could think of saying or even say. "Shit." He said
worried. "Seriously I didn't know. And I don't think she is."

"Jeff, who would know? One of the four musketeers or someone that flirts
with her back?"

"Wait a second Leah! I haven't been flirting back! I seriously thought she
hated me! That's why I picked on her back!"

"And I seriously thought you liked me, even maybe love me."

"I do." He said holding her hands within his and giving her a kiss. "Leah, I
do love you." He said and Leah smiled, giving him a kiss back.

"I love you too." She said giving Jeff a hug and he didn't know what on
earth was going on. Chloe was sure confusing!

---

Christian sighed, not able to stand hearing Steph talk through her tears
anymore but he couldn't do much to comfort her. Whenever he attempted to
quieten her tears, she pushed him away and made her cry even more. The worst
part is that he couldn't understand the brunette.

"Do you get me?" She asked.

Christian was stunned. It was the first time he understood her since he
walked into the room. "Actually Steph, no I don't. I haven't had the
slightest clue what you have been saying since you walked into that room and
hugged me."

"None of it?"

"No. Want to point out the major parts."

"I don't think I can say them again." She said, her eyes wide, knowing she
had declared her love for him, to him, but he didn't hear or listen. She
began to cry as she ran out of the room before running to Chloe's.
