Chapter 10
Jami, Tasha and Lita turned tortured eyes to Stephanie. Stephanie's brow was wrinkled with concern for the three young women in front of her. She wasn't the heartless Billion Dollar Princess that the TV program made her out to be. These girls were three of her closest friends and she wanted to protect them. The same with Shane.
Their father was a totally different story though. The only time he was kind and compassionate was if he had something to gain from it. Just like now He knew that there were major personal issues in Jami, Jeff, Edge, Tasha, Matt and Lita's lives. Issues that were slowly destroying them from the inside out. And Vince McMahon, her father, was going to use it to his advantage. Hang it all out for the public to view and make money from it. And Stephanie and Shane were practically helpless at stopping him.
"How can he do this to us?" Jami asked in a quiet voice. "He see's it as a way to get the viewers more drawn into the story. To see you three as faces. My father is a very shrewd business man. He doesn't realize what he is doing to you as people. Only what the characters you portray are doing." Stephanie explained apologetically.
"Maybe we can talk Vince outta this." Tasha suggested. Stephanie shook her head no but it was Lita who spoke up. "That won't do anything. Once Vince has a storyline-nothing short of cutting his balls off will change his mind."
Jami and Tasha sighed hopelessly. "How exactly does Vince expect us to react?" Jami asked. "He wants you three to be all sobby and sad. He wants you guys to be really emotional. He wants the guys to sit there...and laugh about it. Really react like evil guys." Stephanie stopped when she saw the evil glint in Jami's eyes.
"What have you got planned?" Stephanie asked. "Well, I was just thinking...wouldn't it stick it to Vince if all six of us watch the video like he plans...but we simply don't react. We just shrug it off and go do something else." Jami grinned evily.
"I don't know if that's a great idea...I mean...you don't want to cross my dad." Stephanie heeded. "But that's the great thing about it. Vince doesn't know we know-so he can't blame us for not doing what he wanted since he didn't tell us how to act, or how he wanted us to react." Jami laughed as Tasha and Lita nodded with evil grins on their faces.

Jami, Lita and Tasha sat on a couch in their locker room watching a monitor. There was a cameraman following their every move. They had decided to go ahead and go through with Jami's plan. They had Shane tell the guys the plan, and they had agree'd.
Tasha had talked to Shane earlier. They guys had been shocked and outraged, just like the girls had, about the video and Vince's plan.
The women heard the camera whir and they focused on the TV screen when the video began. The girls didn't show much emotion as they watched the video. It was extremely hard for them to keep their emotions under control.
The first time they had seen the video they had been numbed by shock and anger at Vince. But now the pain of seeing their lives with the guys unfold before their eyes and then crumble all at the same time was almost to much.
As soon as the video ended, Jami stood up suddenly and said, "I say we go and grab a bite to eat before we have to make any appearance's." Both Tasha and Lita nodded and stood up. "Yeah, that sounds good." Lita said carelessly.
Once the camera was shut off and the camera guy had left the room, the women returned. They saw the show coming back on the air.
"King, during the break our camera's caught Amethyzt's, Lita's and J.Lynn's reactions to the video, which we've heard, they had no idea about. Another camera caught Jeff, Matt and Edge's reactions too. Let's take a look." J.R. announced.
First it showed Jeff, Matt and Edge watching the TV. Then they started talking about an upcoming baseball game. Then it went to where Jami, Tasha and Lita were deciding to go and get something to eat.
"Wow J.R. Seems like an Edgier Team Extreme has truly broken up. They seem to not care at all about what was on that video." King commented.
"Well King...sometimes things aren't quite as they seem." J.R. commented before moving onto another subject.
