Chapter 13
Jami slowly packed her stuff at the hotel later that day.
The doctor had no reason to keep her, so she had pulled Stephanie's Diva
character attitude and demanded she be released. Now she was going to
fly back to North Carolina with her sister. Jeff, Tash, Edge, Matt,
Lita, Stephanie and Sara were downstairs loading some of her stuff and Traci's
stuff into the car.
Jami sighed. All she wanted to do was crawl under
the covers, but she couldn't. If Jeff even guessed how weak she was
emotionally he would refuse to leave her. She snapped her suitcase
closed, and sat on the bed waiting for one of them to come get it.
They'd all freak out on her if they saw her carrying it.
A soft knock came at the door and Jeff stuck his head in.
"Hey baby, ready?" he asked. Jami stood up and
nodded as he came fully into the room. "I wanted to say a
private goodbye before we got to the airport." he confided.
Jami gave him a small smile as he wrapped her in a hug.
It took all her strength not to cling to him for dear
life. "I'm going to miss you. I love you so much." she
whispered. Jeff pulled back, "I can still go with you." he
told her. "No...you need to go back to work and I need time to
adjust. This is what's best. I'll be back with you in a week,
driving you crazy." Jami told him. Jeff nodded and kissed her.
They they seperated.
Jeff grabbed her suitcase and Jami grabbed her purse,
before they made their way down to the lobby. Stephanie and Sara were
going to stay at the hotel while everyone else went to the airport. Jami
hugged Stephanie and then Sara. "thank you both for being here
for both me and Jeff. It means so much to have friends like you." Jami
told them, blinking back tears. Both girls hugged Jami again before she
turned and left the hotel.

"Here's our gate...the luggage has been checked.
We've pottied, so now...we just have to wait to board." Traci told
the group. Traci didn't look much like her sister. She had long
blonde hair that was naturally more than one shade of blonde. She had
big blue eyes. She was a few inches taller than her sister. She
stood about 5'6" to Jami's 5'2". Traci was even thinner than
Jami. She barely tipped the scales at 100 pounds. Her facial
features were similiar enough that you could see the family resemblence.
Traci and their brother Traci had taken after their dad in looks, while Jami
was a replica of their mother. But once Traci opened her mouth you could
tell she was Jami's sister. She appeared sweet at first, but had a quick
temper on her. Even quicker than Jami's, if that was possible. She
had the same sarcastic wit her older sister had. And the same crazy
sense of humor. Their personalities were a close match. Traci
often told people off more bluntly then Jami did.
Jeff watched now as Jami and Traci looked through a
magazine rack for some stuff to read on the plane. Traci was definately
one of Jami's best friends. Since he had to leave her alone, he was more
relaxed about it knowing Traci would be there. He had even talked Traci
into coming on circuit with them afterwards. Traci was a wonderful
artist and the WWF was always looking for artists to work with costume
designers and the stars with their apparel they sell. So, Linda had
hired her. Jami had been relieved. It would help her to have her
baby sister on the road with her.
Jami and Traci returned with a couple magazines each.
Jeff looked through Jami's picks and found the WWF magazine, the RAW magazine
and a Cosmo. He just shook his head at her in amusement. Then he
looked through Traci's. She had some artsy magazine, then an issue of
Vogue, and then a magazine about Chicago's Institute of Art. He grinned
at her before she smacked him with her magazines.
"Well, they just announced first call for our
flight, so I guess it's time for goodbyes." Jami told them, forcing
herself to sound cheerful. Lita engulfed her in a hug. "Promise
me you'll call? And are you sure I can't go with you...you stayed with
me, I can return the favor." Lita offered. "No,
that's okay. Thank you though. I'm going to miss you so much.
And keep Matt in line." Jami gently kidded. As soon as Lita
stepped back Jami was engulfed by Matt. "Hey baby girl.
Please take care of yourself. Your my little sister too, remember...so I
get to be the protective big brother...and if you need anything, call me.
I'll be there as soon as I can. I love you baby girl." he told
her and Jami really had to struggle to keep all but a few tears inside.
She wiped those away before responding. "matt, your the big
brother I never had and never wanted, but now I'm so glad I have one. I
love you to Mattie." Matt kissed her forehead before moving away so
Tasha could hug Jami. "I can't believe you are being this
strong. I just want you to know that I'm proud of you. We all are.
And I can't wait til you come back! I'm going to miss you." Tasha
told her. "Tash, you've been a great friend to me and I have a
feeling that you always will be. I'll miss you too...but you need to get
back to normal. And you need to make sure Edge doesn't do anything
stupid. I'll be back in a week." Jami said, hugging her again.
Then Edge came up to her to get a hug. "Hey J.baby, are you
sure you are going to be okay?" Edge asked. "yes, I'm
sure. I'll miss you though E. Promise to be good?" Jami asked.
"On my honor. I'll miss you J." then he kissed
her forehead and those goodbyes were over.
Jami noticed that her friends had all said things to her
sister and gave her hugs to. The short time she was here she had
befriended them. Jeff gave Traci a hug before hugging Jami again. "Call
me...a lot." he demanded. Jami nodded. Then she kissed
him. "I promise...no matter what...I'll always call."
With that Traci and Jami both walked to the gate.
Before they disappeared into the tunnel both girls dropped their bags and did
the 'guns' to their friends, before waving and blowing kisses. then they
picked up their bags and disappeared for a week.
