Chapter 48

"NO!!" Leah screamed as she sat bolt upright in the hotel bed. Her body was covered in a layer of cold sweat. Jeff woke up immediately and looked up at Leah.

"What's wrong?" He asked sitting up by her side.

"They won't stop!!"

"Who won't stop what?"

"The voices. The pictures."

"What voices and pictures? Your not making any sense."

"Him and that night!!" She said getting up from the bed. Her shaky body moved to the wall and she slumped against it and fell to the ground. Tears poured from her eyes. Jeff quickly got of from the bed and ran to her side. He tried to pull her into his arms but she threw her arms up and fought against him. She slapped him across the cheek without realising what she was doing. He yelp in pain and grabbed his cheek and Leah tried to get up and run from him. He didn't let her, he grabbed her arm and pulled her back down to the floor. He tried to hold her again but she still wouldn't let him. Eventually Jeff had had enough and her grabbed both of Leah's wrist and yanked on the causing Leah to cry out at his sudden action. When she realised he wasn't going to let go and that she couldn't struggle and more she let her body fall limp against him. He released her wrists and quickly rapped his arms around the red head. She cried like a lost child into the crook of his neck as he rocked her gently. His hands moved over her back trying to calm her. It wasn't working and he knew it.

"Hello?" Matt said as he picked up the phone that sat next to his and colleen's bed.

"Matt, it's me." Jeff said in a hurried voice. "Look, I need you to get here now and bring colleen."

"It's Leah. Please just come to the motel on the way out of town."

"What's wrong?!" Colleen asked as she grabbed the phone from Matt.

"Leah broke down crying and she told me that every night she has been waking up in cold sweats because she has been having nightmares about what that guy did to her. And she's scared that she is going to lose the baby and that she won't be a good wife and all sorts of rubbish like that. I want to get her home but she won't stop crying and I'm not going to risk driving because I had a few drinks earlier. She's scared."

"we'll be there as soon as we can, ok?"

"Yeh thanks. Bye." Jeff said hanging up the phone. He turned back to Leah who lay on her side on the bed, he had one arm around her and her head rested on the pillow, her knees where brought up to her chest and she had her eyes closed as she cried. "Angel..." Jeff said rolling her over so she would look at him. "Colleen and Matt are coming. Where going home ok?"

He didn't get a response from her. She just rolled her head to one side and continued to cry.
