Chapter 35
The house was quiet until Matt and Jeff came home. They had come in yelling at the top of their lungs to each other. They surprised the heck out of Colleen and Leah who were sitting on the couch.
"Do you two always have to be so loud and obnoxious?" Colleen asked going over to Matt and giving him a little playful push and then hugging him.
"Hell Yeah! That's what we do best." Jeff pointed out looking over at his brother.
Just then Leah came up to him and slapped him on the head. Gil had just come in to the room and couldn't help but smile. He knew what Colleen and Leah were up to and there was no way he was going to say anything to his sons. It was much more fun watching them giving the girls funny looks.
"So did you numbskulls find a house?" Leah asked smiling at Colleen and then over at Gil who was smiling back.
"As a matter of a fact we did. Matt said matter of factly. It has five bedrooms, a big back yard, a swimming pool, a conservatory, a big back garden and a garage for two cars."
"Sounds like a really nice house." Gill said. Colleen and Leah both nodded in agreement.
It was turning out to be a really nice day. Everyone had spent it together. Leah and Colleen were both beaming, showing how happy they were. Little did Leah know that her day was about to get a little better.
Everyone was off doing their own thing when Jeff finally yelled across the house for Leah to come where he was. She did. With a half smile on her face.
Jeff had to chuckle. She looked like she was feeling a lot better and he was happy about that. "I am going to make you smile just a little brighter." he said to himself. Jeff had a package in his hands and Leah was looking at it.
"What does he have for me now?" Leah said to herself as she moved closer to Jeff.
"Leah, hun, I have a present for you. I hope you like it." Jeff said as he kissed Leah on her hand.
Leah opened it as fast as she could. She couldn't wait to see what Jeff had gotten her. Her eyes began to tear as she took off the last of the wrapping paper.
It was a big plush bear.
Leah ran over to Jeff and gave him the biggest hug you could ever imagine. "I love this Jeff." Leah said as she gave Jeff a kiss.
"I thought that you might like it. I gave it to you because I wanted to apologize for you hurting so much." Jeff told her returning the kiss.
"Thank you so much. This has helped and you being near me has also helped. This is also going to be perfect for..." Leah stopped herself before she said anymore and thank god Jeff hadn't heard the last she said. It was going to be a surprise.
Colleen and Matt had been in the kitchen just talking and drinking iced tea and talking.
It was late and everyone was tired so they all decided to get to bed, after all they all had a big day of moving ahead of them.
