The wedding.
As Chloe sat on the edge of her bed she watched her husband to be packing a few things into a night bag. He was staying at Matt’s house because they were getting married in just under twenty-four hours. Jeff looked over to her and smiled before walking to the bed and pulling Chloe to her feet.
“I love you so much Clo.” He said softly as he leaned down and kissed her softly.
“I love you to Jeff.” She replied as she hugged him tightly. “I can’t believe we get married tomorrow. I mean it seems like a week ago when you asked me to marry you in Indianapolis, but it’s been three months. And now, by this time tomorrow I will be Mrs Jeff Hardy.”
“I love the sound of that. Mr and Mrs Hardy.”
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be getting married on my twentieth birthday. I’ll be twenty, married with a baby.”
“He’s not really a baby anymore is he?”
“No. He’s nearly a year old. But he’ll always be my baby.”
“I know. And you’ll always be my baby.” Jeff said smiling at Chloe, who rested her head onto his chest.
“Do you know in five days from now we will have known each other for two years?”
“Yep. The best two years of my life.”
“Mine too. And in the two months from now I start the new season with Williams as the number one driver.”
“I now that too. I’m so proud of you Clo. After all that we’ve been through you haven’t given up on your dream. You never gave up on you and me, you kept believing in me when no one else did, you always told be if I was being an ass and you’d tell me to leave you alone until I saw to reason. And I always did. When you would leave me alone I would realize straight away, and I would come running back to you. No matter how long it took you to forgive me! I found it so hard to deal with you and Matt having Jamie and seeing him with something that you two shared that I could never be part of. But you always listened to me when I needed to talk, when I needed someone to hold me and tell me that we would make it through this you were always there for me. I have so much to thank you for Clo. You have given me all the happiness in the world. I love you with all my heart and I always will.”
As he finished he looked down at Chloe who had tears running down her cheeks. He wiped them away with a soft hand.
“Jeff, I was always there for you and will always be there for you because I love you. You and me re meant to be and I know that we will always be together. And I know that Matt and me having Jamie hasn’t been easy on you but you have understood when I needed Matt, you understood when I needed him with me when Jamie was ill. You would always be there for me when Matt left and I know how hard that was on you. I could see it in your eyes. And you will be part of what me and Matt share, you and me will have our own children, we’ll watch them grow together, we’ll watch them play and fight, we’ll do it all together Jeff. I promise you that.” Chloe realised that Jeff was also now crying, she smiled up at him through blurry eyes. “I love you Jeff.”
The couple embraced each other tightly for a few minutes before they heard a car pull up and someone knock on the front door. “That’ll be my lift.” Jeff finally said as he let go of Chloe. He picked up his bag and slung it over his shoulder. He took Chloe’s hand and let her down they stairs and answered the door.
“Jeffy!” Matt said cheerfully as he walked into the house. He had Jamie in his arms. He set him down and hugged his brother and then Chloe. Jeff put his bag down and led Matt into the house. “We haven’t got long, all the guys are in the van.” Matt said as he followed Jeff.
“Ok.” Jeff said still holding Chloe’s hand. Jeff looked back at the door as his farther let himself in. He gave him a hug and the Chloe hugged him.
“Can we all sit down for a minute?” Gil asked ushering them all to the seating area of the huge living room. They all sat down and looked at him. “I have something for you two. I have been thinking about this for a long time and I think this is what she would want me to do.”
“Who would have wanted you to do what?” Jeff asked slightly confused.
“Your mother.” Gil said as he looked at the three people sitting around him. He sat at one end of the sofa. Matt sat at the other and Chloe and Jeff sat on two foot stools that sat in front of the sofa. Nobody said anything, they all waited for Gil to continue. “I know how much you two care about each other and tomorrow you show that to everybody when you enter a marriage together. The same way you mother and me did so many years ago. And I gave her something my farther gave me to give to her.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black box. “This was passed down to me from my farther so now Jeff I’m passing it down to you. It’s your grandmother’s and your mother’s wedding ring. I know you have picked out your wedding rings and I know is should have given this to you earlier but I wanted to do it now.”
Jeff took the box from his farther. He opened it and looked at the ring he remembered always being on his mother’s finger. “I hope you give this to the one you love Jeff. The one you have chosen to spend the rest of your life with.”
Jeff sat speechless. He looked at his farther and then to Chloe and Matt. He leaned forward and hugged is dad tightly. “Thank you so much dad.” When he pulled away he held the box out for Chloe to see the ring. She ran her finger lightly over the gold ring that had tiny diamonds in bedded into it.
“It’s beautiful.” She said looking at Gil. He smiled at her.
“I just hope my son decides to give you this tomorrow.”
“I will dad. Of course I will.”
“Thank you so much Gil.” Chloe said with tears in her eyes. He stood up and so did the rest of them. He hugged Chloe and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
“We had better be going.” Gil said as they made there way to the door.
“Oh yeh! I get married tomorrow. I forgot.” Jeff said. But he was silenced when Chloe’s elbow connected with his ribs. “Sorry baby. I would never forget.” He smiled and kissed her passionately on the doorstep. A lot of cheers and wolf whistles came from the mini van that was parked out in the driveway. Jeff hugged Chloe one more time before letting go. “I guess I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“You can count on it.” Chloe said as she picked Jamie up. She watched Jeff hand Matt the ring as he was the best man and looked after that kind of thing. Chloe hugged Matt and he kissed both her and Jamie good night.
The guys all left for Jeff’s stag night as a car pulled up outside the house. Five WWF divas stepped out equipped with bags and bags of clothes, make up, wine and spirits. They made their way up to Chloe each one hugging her as they went into the house.
Chloe closed the door behind them all and headed into the living room, where the glasses where already on the table. Amy was undoing several bottles of wine. Terri was laying out the entire make up bag on the dining table that had now been cleared. Trish was clearing some space in the middle of the room. Jackie was helping her move the sofas back and they moved the coffee table, that had the wine standing on it, carefully to one side. Lisa was pulling out silk towel robes and face packs from her bag as well as hair curling tongs, hairs straightners and brushes, bands and clips.
Chloe put Jamie down on one of the sofas and gave him his favourite stuffed teddy to play with. Once the preparations had finished Chloe sighed and looked at her watch, they were still waiting for Lee, Matt’s girlfriend. She was bringing all of the dresses over as she had made the wedding dress and eight bridesmaid dresses.
The van full of WWF superstars drove towards a small club in the centre of Cameron. When they got out Chloe’s dad and seven brothers met them.
They went into the club and Jeff pulled Matt to one side before he got through the door.
“You haven’t organised anything stupid have you?”
“No. You told me not to so I didn’t.”
You better not be lying. I don’t want to be left hand cuffed to a lamp post wit L plates stuck on my ass.”
“You won’t be. I promise.”
“I better not be and no stripper either.”
“No Jeff. No stripper. I hate that stuff you should know that.”
“Yeh I guess. OK. Come one.” Jeff said as he led Matt into the club.
As Lee arrived she told the girls to come help her with he dresses. She had been keeping them at her and Matt’s place so Jeff didn’t see them. As they carried them into the house Chloe let herself mile as she looked at the dress she carried.
They hung them on the backs of doors before sitting down in the now candle lit room.
“Are you nervous?” Trish asked from next to Chloe.
“Not yet, wait until tomorrow and I’ll be a wreck. Seriously, I can’t wait.”
“Good for you girly.” Jackie said as she sat on the sofa behind Chloe and massaged her shoulders gently. “Come on girls, lets start relaxing.” She said laughing as Chloe groaned as Jackie massaged a tight part of her neck. Amy gave Trish a massage and Lee massaged Lisa’s shoulders. Terri was massaging Chloe’s feet much to everyone’s amusement as she tried to keep from laughing. They all looked at the door as someone knocked. Chloe got up and wet to it. She opened the door to see Nora and Steph standing there with six pizza boxes in hand and various other bags of snacks.
“I thought you guys couldn’t make it.” Chloe said as she let them in.
“Well, we drove extra quick to make it here tonight instead of the morning. They walked into the living room and put the bags and boxes down as Jackie came form the kitchen with bowls and napkins in hand. She opened packets of chips and put them in the bowls and she opened up the pizza boxes as everyone began to dig in.
After eating nearly all the pizzas and chips the nine girls drank the last bit of wine from their glasses and set them down.
“I think we should all get some sleep.” Steph suggested from the sofa.
“Me too.” Trish added as she yawned.
They had spent the night in face packs whilst doing each other’s nail and curling their hair as well as messing about and basically acting like little kids. They all stood up and Headed to various rooms in the house. Chloe blew the candles out and took one last look at her dress before heading up the stairs to check on Jamie and then get some sleep. She opened the door and saw Trish laying on the put me up bed. She smiled at her as she flicked the light on. “Sorry. I just wanted to check on him.”
“It’s fine.” Trish said as she got up and joined Leah by Jamie’s cot. “He’s so beautiful.”
“I know, he has Matt’s eyes doesn’t he?”
“Defiantly, but thank god he doesn’t have his nose!” Trish said laughing.
Chloe just laughed and tucked the blanket around Jamie. “I guess I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Yeh. Are you going to be able to sleep?”
“Probably not. I have so many things going on in my head. I just keep thinking about Jeff and if everything is all planned for tomorrow and stuff like that.”
“Well everything is set. Just go and try to sleep ok. I’ll look after him tonight so you don’t have to worry.”
“Thanks. Night Trish.” She said as she hugged her before leaving the room.
Chloe tossed and turned all night in the king size bed. She could smell Jeff. His familiar smell that Chloe loved when he was close but the smell hanging in the air made her feel lonely and miss him even more. Her nerves where at a high as she looked over at the clock. It was 6:39. She had been asleep for about three hours and she decided to get up. She walked down the stairs to see the living room tidy and Trish and Lee sitting on the sofa playing with Jamie. She smiled at them and walked over and sat opposite them on the other sofa.
“Morning.” Trish said in between making baby noises at Jamie.
“Yeh.” Chloe replied as she sent out a depressed sigh.
“You didn’t sleep did you?” Lee asked as she looked at her friend.
“Not much, I tossed and turned and couldn’t get real sleep I just dozed and I feel like crap.”
“Well, you get married in about six hours so that should make you feel better.”
“No it doesn’t. I’m so nervous.”
Jeff woke the next morning with a smile on his face, today was the day, today was the day when he married the woman of his dreams. He had over slept and it was 9:25. Nobody had woken him so he got up and headed down stairs. The club was very loud the night before but Jeff wouldn’t drink much and no stripper had shown up, so Matt was safe.
He looked around at his mates and brother who where already in their black suits with a gold waistcoat and matching necktie. He wiped his eyes as he was handed a cup of coffee bye Chris Irvine. “Excited?” Chris asked as he went and grabbed a piece of toast from the counter.
“Yep.”
“Really?”
“I was as nervous as hell!” Chris said as he took a bite of his toast.
“Why would I be? I love her. She loves me. We’re meant to be together. Why would I be nervous about making a commitment to the woman I love more than anything?”
“God your whipped!!!” Chris joked slapping his mate on the shoulder. Jeff looked around at Matt, Devon, Erin, Jason, Adam, Shannon and Shane. Gil was sitting by the window looking out over the garden.
“I never thought I would see this day.” Gil commented from his place across the room.
“What day?” Jeff asked walking to his farther.
“You getting married. You were always the baby of the family. It seems like only yesterday whe I was changing your nappy.”
“DAD!” Jeff exclaimed in embarrassment. He looked around and everyone was watching and laughing along with Gil at Jeff.
“Seriously son.” Gil said as he stood up. “I’m so proud of you. You found the hardest thing in life to find, true love. Hang onto it Jeff, you only find it once.”
“Thanks dad.” Jeff said as he hugged him.
“GOD!!! I’m never going to be ready!!!” Chloe shouted panicking as Terri finished putting her up. It was curled into tight ringlets which where pinned so the dark curls hung form the back of her head, with one piece of hair hanging each side of her face. Terri applied the hairspray and let Trish begin the make up. Trish added the pale brown foundation before she applied pale shades of purple and white to Chloe’s eyelids. She expertly added blue mascara to her eyelashes. Pale purple eyeliner went on her under eyelid. Trish stood back and checked that they matched which they did. Chloe sat still I the chair as Trish applied a layer of Peach Cream lipstick then covered that with a layer of gloss.
When Chloe looked in the mirror she smiled and hugged Terri and Trish. She looked down at her nails which where painter in a pale purple, they matched the eye shadow and the clips in her hair.
She watched Lee and Trish get her dress and her veil. Chloe took a deep breath before walking up the starts after the two of them.
She closed her door behind them. All of her bridesmaids where already in their dresses. They wore pale purple long flowing dresses that had darker purple beads hand sewn onto them. The dresses where sleeveless and they where fairly low cut. All of them had their hair the same. Terri had been doing it for the past three hours and Trish had done all the make up. Amy, Nora and Jackie had done nails and Steph, Lisa and Lee had helped everyone into their dress and made sure the all fitted ok and they then had purple glass shoes to wear with gold flower on the front.
Chloe snapped out of her daze as Lee put a hand on her shoulder. She smiled at her friend as she went into the connecting bathroom to change her under wear. When she reappeared she was only dressed in a white lacy strapless bra and a skimpy lace thong. She quickly stepped into her dress with the help of Lee and Trish. The pulled it up and did up the twenty-five little buttons that ran up the back of it. The white silk dress had a two-meter trail that flowed from the back of the dress. It also had over a thousand beads that had been sewn onto it. It was also sleeveless with a low neckline, which dipped slightly in between her breasts. The neckline had beads all along it. On her stomach whit lace was sewn on and it fell down to the ground and joined the trail, the edges of it where lined with white embodied flowers. She turned to face them and they had big smiles across their faces. They adjusted the front slightly and made sure it hung right. Trish put the tiara onto he hair making sure not to mess it up. Lee then took her veil and positioned it over her face. It hung all around her head, the glass beads holding it down and in position; the bottom also had embodied flowers around it. Lee flipped the front over so they could see Chloe’s face.
“You look so beautiful.” Trish said as she gave Chloe a small hug careful not to wrinkle the dress.
“Thanks.” Leah said as she turned to face the full-length mirror. “Would you guys mind. I want to be by myself for a minute. And can you make sure my brother Mark has picked up Jamie?”
“Sure. We’ll meet you down stairs.” Lee said as she and Trish left the room.
Chloe turned back to the mirror and studied her reflection. Her eyes went blurry. After a few minutes she heard the door open and in stepped her dad. She turned to face him. She quickly wiped her eyes as he studied her. “You look amazing.” He finally said as he hugged his one and only daughter. “I wish your mother could see you.”
“She can daddy, she can see me.”
“You’re sweetheart she can and she’s just as proud of you as I am.”
“JEFF!!! COME ON YOU’LL BE LATE!” Matt shouted up the stairs. He waited at the bottom until he heard Jeff’s footsteps. The other guys where already in the cars out side waiting for him.
“OK.” Jeff said a he reached the bottom. “I better go get married.” He said walking to the door. “Matt? Have you got the rings?”
“”Yes. Now lets go.” He said as he pushed his brother out of the door and onto the steps.
“Chloe. Before we go I want to give you this.” Her dad said as he took out a large flat box. He opened it and took out a necklace that had a silver chain and four diamonds in a diamond shape with a small piece of chain going down to where another larger diamond hung. “This was what I gave to you mother the night we got engaged. I want you to have it. You mother would have wanted you to have it.”
“It’s beautiful, thank you.” She said as he placed it around and fastened it. “Are they real?”
“Yes they are. I always bought your mother real diamonds because I thought anything less wasn’t’ good enough for her.”
“That’s so sweet.”
“I am sweet!” he said grinning with pride as he looked at his daughter. “We had better go.”
As they reached the bottom of the stairs everyone stopped and looked at Chloe. Everyone came up to her and hugged her one bye on and they all said how beautiful she looked.
“Ok, have you got something new?” Steph asked Chloe.
“Yes, the dress.”
“Some thing old?”
“This necklace.”
“Something borrowed?”
“No.”
“Yes you have.” Trish said as she walked over to Chloe, she handed her two diamond crystal earrings.
“Thanks.” Chloe said as she put the earrings on.
“Something blue?”
“I have a garter over there and that’s blue.”
Steph went and retrieved it form it’s box as well as Chloe’s shoes and her elbow length gloves. Steph slid the garter up Chloe’s leg, as Chloe couldn’t bend all that well. She positioned it on her leg and let Chloe get it comfortable. Steph the held the bottom of the dress up so Chloe could see to put her feet into her clear glass shoes. Steph then handed Chloe her white silk elbow length gloves. She put them on.
“Are we ready ladies?” Chloe’s dad Paul asked from the back of the group.
“Almost.” Amy said as she picked up Chloe’s bouquet of white and dyes pale purple rose and handed it to her.
“Thanks. Now we are.” As Chloe spoke those words the nerves came back to her.
Out side there was a horse and carriage waiting for Chloe and Paul. Paul took Chloe’s hand and helped her up as the footman opened the door. It was white with no roof so the sun reflected on the beads and mad the shine in the light. The out side of the carriage was decorated in the same colour roses that where in Chloe’s bouquet.
The bridesmaids all got into the waiting Rolls Royce’s and led the carriage to the church.
The men waited out side of the church as Jeff and his farther waited in side. Matt stood on the curb as he watched the first of the Rolls Royce’s turn the corner. It stopped out side the church and Amy, Nora and Lisa stepped out. Amy found Devon who she was paired to walk down the aisle with, Nora found Erin and Lisa found Adam. The second car pulled up and Terri, Jackie and Steph stepped out who went to find their partners, Jay, Shane and Chloe’s brother Ben. They waited for two more minutes before the third Rolls pulled up. Lee and Trish stepped out. Lee kissed Matt as she was paired with him she stayed at his side. Trish found Shannon and stood with him as they all waited for the carriage to arrive.
When it finally did it took three minutes for it to make it down the road to the church. When it stopped the footman got down and opened the door. Paul got down and he and the footman both helped Chloe from the carriage. After she had greeted all of them they lined up waiting to enter the church. Matt and Lee where fist followed by Shannon and Trish, Devon and Amy, Erin and Nora, Jay and Terri, Shane and Jackie, Ben and Steph, Adam and Lisa and finally Paul and Chloe.
The photographers where in various places taking photo’s of the whole scene.
“Are you ready to do this?” Chloe’s dad asked her as Chloe placed her arms on his.
“Yes.” She answered, as all he nerves seemed to fly away. She smiled as she heard some music begin. Slowly the procession made there way into the church.
Jeff stood at the alter as the music began to play, he, with everyone else in the church stood up and turned to face where the bridesmaid had began to enter.
As the last bridesmaid and partner made it to the alter they split up and stood their respective sides. Matt had taken his place by Matt. Jeff held his breath as he wait for what seemed like an eternity until the wedding march began to play.
His heart skipped a beat as he saw Chloe come through the door. Even from a distance she could see how beautiful she looked. He watched her walking down the isle smiling under her veil.
As Chloe walked down the aisle she locked her eyes with Jeff. All eyes where on her as she made it to Jeff. She handed her bouquet to Trish, she kissed her dad on the cheek before she took Jeff’s arms as they walked the last few steps to the alter.
Jeff took Chloe’s hand and held it in his as the minister began.
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today day to witness the joining or Jeff and Chloe in the joining of marriage. If anyone had a reason why these two people should not be joined in holy matrimony, may you speak now or forever hold your piece.” He looked around in the silence before continuing. “Jeff, please repeat after me. I Jeffery Nero Hardy.”
“I Jeffery Nero Hardy.”
“Take thee Chloe Justine Stevens to be my lawfully wedded wife.”
“Take thee Chloe Justine Stevens to be my lawfully wedded wife.”
“Though sickness and health, richer and poorer.”
“Though sickness and health, richer and poorer.”
“For better for worse.”

“As long as we both shall live.”

“You have witnessed the exchanging of vows, now may you witness the exchanging of the rings. Jeff take this ring and place it on Chloe’s finger and repeat after me. I give you this ring”
Jeff and Chloe turned to face each other. Jeff took the ring of the pillow the vicar held. “I give you this ring.”
“As a token of my love and commitment.”
“As a token of my love and commitment.”
“To you from now to eternity.”
“To you from now to eternity.”
“Chloe please take this ring an place it on Jeff’s finger and repeat after me. I give you this ring.”

“To you from now to eternity.”
“To you from now to eternity.”
“You have made all the commitment that are bided by law. In front the persons here present I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
Jeff took his hands and lifted the veil from over Chloe’s face. He doubled it back and placed it behind her head. He leaned forward and met her lips with his, slowly and passionately as the church was filled with applause and the odd wolf whistle.
Jeff put Chloe’s arm in his as the music began to play and they walked out of the church Mr and Mrs Jeff Hardy.
