Title: Flash In Time
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: chapter 1 (the one and only)
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*.  But I do own Jami, for she is me.  And if you read my story "Take That Step" you might recognize some of the characters...but this story has nothing to do with that story. Just same character names.  DEAL WITH IT! And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know yet *L*.
Summary: Jami and Jeff are falling apart....all Jami can think of is what use to be.
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee!

Jami stared into Jeff's vivid green eyes as she struggled to keep her emotions under control.  She blinked rapidly a few times, rolling her eyes upward in an attempt to keep tears from escaping.  Her mind traveled back in time.  To the first time she had met Jeff.

FLASHBACK
It had been after a small house show in Des Moines.  She had made a run to SUBWAY with her friends for some food, before going back to their hotel.  When Jami, Tasha, Jami's sister Traci, Misty and Jim had entered the sandwich shop they saw a group of people ahead of them.  The group consisted of Matt and Jeff Hardy, Amy Dumas, Adam Copeland and Jason Reso.

It was like love at first sight between Jami and Jeff.  The moment his green eyes met her wide, innocent, brown eyes, she knew they had a future together.  Misty took it upon herself for the two groups to meet.  She marched over to Jason Reso, sticking a hand out for him to shake.  "Hi, I'm Misty! We just saw you guys in the show and you were awesome!" Jason smiled at the compliment, "Hi misty. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the show."  Misty turned and began to introduce everyone.  "This is my husband Jim, he's a huge Lita fan.  This is Tasha, a huge Edge fan.  This is Traci, and she loves the Rock.  Last but not least, this is Jami, and she's a huge WWF fan, especially of the Hardyz."

The group of wrestlers smiled and nodded greetings before turning to order their food.  Jeff slyly slid over to stand next to Jami. "Sorry they aren't so talkative...they aren't trying to be rude or anything, they are just starving."  he whispered to her.  Jami turned to him with a huge smile on her face.  "That's okay. I totally understand. I would never want to get in between hungry wrestlers and food. I don't have a death wish.".  Jeff laughed. "Aren't you going to order with your group?" Jami asked him as members of her groups started ordering.  "I'll just order after you.  Where are you guys staying?" he asked, trying to appear nonchalant.  "Oh, at the Marriott. What about y'all?" Jami returned.  "Same place. You should all come up to one of our rooms to eat and hang out." Jeff suggested. "That would be  cool. I'm sure my friends would love that."

That had been the beginning.  That night Jeff and Jami had talked into the wee hours of the morning about everything.  When they went their seperate ways the next day they exchanged phone numbers, email addresses and snail mail addresses.

As Jeff's gaze probed her soul her mind swam.  She thought back to the night Jeff had asked her to be his girlfriend.

He had picked her up from her house at 7 p.m. sharp.  He was dressed in a pair of khaki's and a white t-shirt.  His hair was freshly bleached blonde and he had it pulled back up into his purple Hardyz hat.  He knew Jami loved when he wore that hat with his hair pulled up into it.  Jami had wore a long, purple skirt with a matching halter top.  Her shoulder length brown hair was pulled back in a clip with a few loose tendrils framing her face.

She slid into Jeff's camero, noticing that he was grinning widely at her.  "what?" she asked.  "Nothing...nothing at all." he told her, holding her hand while he drove.  Jami shrugged her shoulders, letting it drop as she enjoyed being with him.  She had no clue where they were going.  He was bent on keeping it a suprise.  Finally he pulled into a parking lot of a very expensive Italian resteraunt.  Jami gasped.  "Jeff, this place is so expensive.  You must have saved for weeks for this.  you know, you don't have to take me anywhere expensive. I'm happy just being with you."  Jami told him.

Jeff turned to look at her, "do you really mean that?" he asked.  Jami nodded, speechless due to the look in his eyes.  He licked his lips nervously before continuing.  "Good, cause there is a reason I brought you here.  I was wondering, if maybe, you'd consider, being my girlfriend. Oh God, that sounded so junior high." he groaned.  Jami giggled, "I like, totally, like, would love to be, like your, like girlfriend." Jeff laughed, "That sounds more like clueless then junior high."

Jami sighed as a few tears escaped and coursed down her cheeks.  "You did not just say what I think you just said." Jeff told her, a look of fear coming alive in his eyes.  Jami thought back to their first kiss.

"Come on Jami! We have to get to the back before Matt and Jeff get back there!" Tasha cried, pulling Jami thru the crowd.  "I'm coming.  Don't worry, the match isn't half over.  There's plenty of time!" Jami told her, pushing her way thru the crowd behind Tasha.  Finally they reached the back.  Standing around a television watching the match were Scott Levy (Raven), Scott Garland (Scotty Too Hotty), Joanie Laurer (Chyna), and Chris Irvine (Jericho).  The match was Edge and Christian vs. The Hardyz in a ladder match for the WWF tag team belts.

Chris motioned for Jami and tasha to come join them.  he draped an arm around Jami's shoulders.  "Your man is taking a helluva beating." he told her.  Jami jokingly pushed tasha's shoulder.  "What was that for?" Tasha asked her.  "Your man is beating up on my man." Jami joked.  "well, your man is beating back!" Tasha countered with a laugh.  Jami watched the rest of the match thru her fingers as she covered her face with her hands.  Finally she heard the audience in the arena cheer and she looked up at the TV to see a triumphant Jeff holding a belt above his head.

Adam and Jason stumbled to the back and Tasha gave Adam a hug.  Finally Jeff and Matt limped to the backstage area.  Jami rushed to Jeff but stopped short of throwing her arms around him.  "What?" he asked, noticing her confused expression.  "I don't want to hurt you." she admitted.  He grinned, "After what I Just went thru, your hurting me is the kind of hurting I want." he told her.  She blushed and threw her arms around him.  Finally he drew back and gave her a look she couldn't quite place.  Then he leaned down and kissed her.  Moments later when they drew apart, Jami could hear the others hooting and hollering.  Jami blushed and Jeff just grinned.

"Jami, this has to be some mistake.  Please, tell me this is just a bad dream." Jeff begged. Jami shook her head, more tears escaping. "It's not a dream." she whispered.  Her mind flashed back to the first time Jeff had told her he loved her.

"Jeff, where are we going?" Jami giggled into the wind from the back of Jeff's motorbike.  "You'll see" he yelled back to her.  He pulled into a parking lot a few minutes later and as he parked the bike, Jmai glanced around her.  She could tell they were at a beach.  It looked closed to her though.  As they walked hand in hand towards a chain link gate, Jami grew more and more curious.  When they reached the locked enterance Jeff pulled out a set of keys.  He grinned at her questioning look, "It's good to know people" was all he said.  They walked down to the waterfront.  Jami and Jeff both slipped their shoes off and left them on the sand.

Jami gasped as the cool water rushed over her bare feet.  They strolled under the moonlight for awhile before Jeff stopped.  He walked back up into the sand and Jami followed him.  He dropped to the sand and pulled Jami down beside him.  Jami rested her head against his chest, listening to his heartbeat and feeling him breathe. "I love you Jami." he whispered.  Jami jerked into a sitting position. "what?" Jeff looked at her. "I love you." Jami scooted so she was sitting on his lap. She took his face in her hands and kissed the tip of his nose, "I love you too, Jeff."

"Jami...all we've been thru, you can't just give up. Please!" Jeff cried out. "Please don't make this any harder than it already is!" Jami cried back.  Her mind focused on the memory of their first fight.

"Jeff, you aren't being fair!" Jami told him.  "Jami, it's Wrestlemania!  This is my biggest match yet! I'm going against Chris Irvine (Jericho) for the WWF championship! You have to be there to cheer me on!" Jeff argued.  "Jeff, I cannot just up and leave everything on a days notice!  I have school! Midterms are this week.  I have work!" Jami argued back.  "If it's the money from your job your worried about, you know i make enough to support you." Jeff told her.  "AAARRRGGGGGHHHH!" Jami let out a strangled cry before hanging up the phone.  Jeff had called back moments later and they had worked it all out.

Jami sighed and took a drink of her bottled water.  "Jeff, do you think I'm doing this for fun?" Jami asked him.  "I just can't believe the words that came out of your mouth!" Jeff told her honestly.  "Believe them Jeff! I don't want to say them anymore than you want to hear them, but it's true." Jami sighed.  "Don't say it again." Jeff pleaded.  Jami took a deep breath.  "Jeff, I'm dying."
