Chuck Palumbo
Stats:
Height: 6' 6"
Weight: 265 pounds
From: San Diego, Calif.
Finishing move: Superkick
Career Highlights: Federation Tag Team Champion (2); WCW Tag Team Champion
(3)
Chuck teams up with Billy. And he really seems to like his tag team partner. A lot. And it's obvious why: Billy is ten-time Federation Tag Team Champion. The tag team first announced that they were together on Sunday Night Heat, November 11, 2001 and they've been kicking ass ever since.
When Chuck stepped in the ring for a mixed tag team match, Trish Stratus trapped him in the corner and pummeled him. Chuck looked disgusted by the whole thing, especially when Trish's crotch area found its way into Chuck's face. It kind of makes you wonder if he's -- well, you know -- already in a relationship.
One thing that is unquestionable is Chuck's potential, and his athletic ability. He was offered a training contract by World Championship Wrestling -- then owned by Time Warner -- in April 1999, just six months after he first stepped foot into a wrestling ring. Normally, competitors are told to compete on independent circuits for at least three to five years before a major sports-entertainment company will even consider them.
On May 31, 2000, Palumbo teamed with another young star, Shawn Stasiak, to capture the WCW Tag Team Championship -- an accomplishment that's virtually unheard of for a competitor with less than two years experience. By the time the World Wrestling Federation acquired WCW in March 2001, Palumbo was a three-time WCW Tag Team Champion -- having won the title twice with Stasiak, and once with Sean O'Haire.
Now Palumbo has captured the Federation Tag Team Championship twice with his partner, Billy. You know Billy -- he's the one with the matching headband.
Additional information:
Chuck was in the navy as a flight deck captain, meaning he loaded bombs
onto Jets and in general kept things in order on board aircraft carriers.
He also rides a Harley.
Billy Gunn
Stats:
Height: 6' 4"
Weight: 268 pounds
From: Austin, Texas
Finishing move: Fame-Ass-Er
Career Highlights: Intercontinental Champion, 1999 King of the Ring,
Hardcore Champion (2), Tag Team Champion (10)
Billy is the most decorated tag team competitor of all time, having won the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship on ten occasions, with three different partners (Bart Gunn as part of the Smoking Gunns, the Road Dogg Jesse James with the New Age Outlaws (NAO), and now with Chuck).
But now it seems Billy is interested in other kinds of decoration -- such as the headband he proudly adorns to signify that he's one half of the Billy & Chuck tag team combination.
Billy won the Tag Team Championship three times as part of the Smokin' Gunns, and then five times as part of the New Age Outlaws. The Outlaws will go down in history as arguably the greatest duo in tag-team history, and certainly one of the most popular and successful. However, Billy and Chuck have carved their own mark as a memorable tag team, having won the titles twice already. They also had a memorable feud with Rikishi, who won the tag belts with Rico for a short period of time, and lost them soon after due to Rico aiding Billy and Chuck.
But although his days as an Outlaw are behind him, Billy seems happier than ever these days. For some reason, there's a spring in his step -- and a glimmer in his eye -- when he strolls out to the ring with his latest partner, Chuck. Like Billy, Chuck is another phenomenal athlete who is undeniably handsome.
Likewise, Billy's credentials speak for themselves. He's arguably the
best pound-for-pound athlete in the Federation.
Rico
Stats:
Height: 6'
Weight: 228 pounds
Hometown: Las Vegas
Career highlights: WWE Tag Team
Special talents: Trained in martial arts, style
Champion (with Rikishi)
When Billy and Chuck realized they needed some help with their image, they turned to Rico as the man to give the tag team powers a sense of style. The move certainly paid off as Rico has helped the flamboyant tandem maintain their position at the top of the tag team division.
Although he works mostly behind the scenes with Billy and Chuck, don't
be surprised to find Rico step into the ring. He brings a fast-paced offense
that features swift, deadly kicks delivered with flash and of course, style.
