[[[[[XWF Rewind: Aftermath - Showdown - 13/10/2004]]]]]

***** As the fans begin to leave the arena, the camera crews start to pack up, Shawn Taylor is spotted walking with Jade backstage, taking his referee shirt off and throwing it aside.*****

Jade: "Where are we going, baby?"

Shawn Taylor: "Just looking for someone."

***** They stop at an unmarked locker room door. Taylor pushes it open. Stephen Blood is pulling a plain black tee shirt over his tattooed and scarred torso. He takes a quick pull from a nearby beer bottle.*****

Shawn Taylor: "I figured you'd want to find me so I saved myself the trouble of being hunted down."

Stephen Blood: "Why would I try to hunt you down, Shawn?"

Shawn Taylor: "Thought you might be pissed I didn't ring the bell when you tapped. Which, might I add, I was rather sorry to see."

***** With that, Stephen Blood begins to laugh. Shawn looks at him with curiosity on his face.*****

Shawn Taylor: "What's so funny?"

Stephen Blood: "You really want to know why I tapped? Okay. I knew the match would never end with Adkins there. I knew, no matter what, from the beginning to the end of the match that you were not an XWF superstar, but an XWF referee and you'd do your damnedest to remain impartial. Mark Adkins, however, was the exact opposite. I knew he'd never let that damn match end in my favour and I think everyone else was starting to realize that. So rather than waste everyone's time, I just decided to take another hit and end the match."

Shawn Taylor: "So. . ."

Stephen Blood: "So if. . . and this is a BIG if. . . if F~ckin'york actually beats you at Fall Out, he and I are going to meet again, this time with no Mark Adkins to f~ck it up."

***** As Stephen looks on confidently, Taylor begins to laugh.*****

Shawn Taylor: "Stephen, you're a real piece of work, mate. Don't worry about the championship after Fall Out, except to say that I'm a man of my word and when. . . WHEN I beat Chris Falkenyork you still get first shot at it."

Stephen Blood: "Deal."

***** With that, Blood extends his arm to hold out his fist in a sign of respect.*****

Stephen Blood: "You're cool with me, Shawn. You know that."

***** As Stephen says that, Shawn pauses for a moment to decide how to react, then proceeds to bump his fist against Stephen's.*****

Shawn Taylor: "Yeah I know that."

***** With that, Shawn and Jade begin to leave. As they reach the door, Stephen calls out to them.*****

Stephen Blood: “Hey Shawn,

***** Shawn stops momentarily and slowly turns his face to look at Blood.*****

Stephen Blood: “Good luck, amigo.

Shawn Taylor: “You too!

***** Taylor half smiles as he raises his beer bottle to Stephen.*****

Shawn Taylor: “Thanks for the beer, mate.

***** With that, Taylor and Jade leave as the scene fades out.*****

[[[[[END REWIND]]]]]

***** As the count down to the first XWF Pay Per View of the season begins to encounter it's final digits, the crowd begins to participate in laying down bets. The crowd begin to become eager, excited, hungry to finally view what will be one of the biggest nights in the careers of a few but the biggest night of all time for one man. Finally after the years of set backs, deceit, betrayal, anger, frustration and rebellion. After the years of hard fought battles, of never ending wars. After years of blood, sweat and tears. Finally October 24th will be the day of reckoning for one young man. For he will finally step up to his calling and fight it out for his dream. For this young man will battle one of the most famous, brutal and egotistical men that the world has ever seen. For this man is his day to step up to the challenge that lies waiting for him. The question remaining in everyone's minds is that of "Can he do it?" That question will be answered on October 24th 2004 to the possible delight of some and the possible anger of many. For the night of October 24th will be the XWF's number one son's chance to become the XWF's number one star. The Virus will finally step in to the ring to face the ever so great World heavyweight champion in a battle for the ages. On October 24th one man will leave with it all, the other will leave with nothing. This is a World so cold, this is a night of glory, this is Fall Out! The scene fades in to a state of blurriness. The camera pans around gradually as the blurriness of it begins to fade away slowly. The lights of near by buildings become more clearer as does the monumental look of the place. As the camera finally regains full focus, it becomes apparent that we are looking at the sky line of a fairly medium sized city. The camera pans around yet again as the black night sky covers the city in darkness. Youths and random citizens can be spotted walking amongst the busy streets below as night buses and cabs can be seen turning their individual ways at a road not so far away. The camera pans around back inside the fairly high building as a comfortable lounge comes in to view. The camera glances around the room as four figures can be seen sitting on the brown leather couches randomly placed next to each other. Separating the couches is a coffee table, with numerous cups upon it. Next to the three cups is a bottle of Volvic spring water. The camera gets closer to all four of the characters. Sat in one single seater is a man wearing a Green velvet suit with short gelled blond hair. Of course the man is 'Hardcore' John Atkins! Then on the double seater is a man wearing a baggy leather jacket with a pair of black denim trousers and a pair of black denim boots. He looks straight through his glasses as he slowly tilts his head from side to side. Of course it is none other than the "Twisted Genius" that is Dean Ayass. Then in one single seater is a man wearing a white and blue "Shawn Taylor" T-Shirt. He is also wearing a "Korn" baseball cap with long blue denim trousers and brown boots. Sat on his lap is the ever beautiful looking Jade wearing long black boots, a short black mini skirt and a kinky black top. She has her arms around Shawn as all three members of the "Taylor posse" look over at John Atkins, awaiting him to begin. John finally lifts up a few sheets of paper as he relaxes back in to the single seater and begins to speak.*****

John Atkins: "Ladies and Gentlemen I'm your host 'Hardcore' John Atkins here in Portsmouth, England! Yet again I am bringing you another exclusive interview with one of the biggest stars that works for the XWF here today! Here, exclusively to the 'Promotional' channel I have yet another interview with the number one son of the XWF and current Number one contender for the XWF's biggest prize today! He is known to the world as being the "Virus" due to his vicious "Swift Blade" finishing manoeuvre. He is accompanied here today by his ever beautiful girl friend Jade and his old time manager that is the "Twisted Genius" Dean Ayass. Of course, it is none other than Shawn Taylor!"

***** The camera pans around to look at the three of them looking on confidently.*****

John Atkins: " Now Shawn, as we have seen as of late, you have been on a some what ever twisting road on your hunt for the title. For example, ever since Extreme Mania Three when you were hurled off of the top of that Deadly cage structure, your life has literally been turned around. You entered a place called WWE Desire where you stole the hearts of many and captured gold which you still hold to this day. Then you re entered the BOW with your good friend and manager Dean Ayass. Since you returned to the XWF though, you have made it more than obvious that your quest is no longer to join a devastating stable or to create a faction, but to forget about those around you and become more focused on capturing your dream. You have been on a brief and some what interesting sequence of events with Stephen Blood and as of late you have become one of the companies biggest stars. As Fall Out becomes closer though, you have suddenly encountered a re-awakened dilemma. That is of the hatred you have for Mike C and that of the fact that now, your old time friend Chesney Clausen has returned and claimed war against the XWF. How do you feel about that?"

***** Shawn looks briefly at Jade, then at Dean. Shawn begins to shake his head slowly as he begins to speak.*****

Shawn Taylor: "John, mate."

***** Shawn pauses for a moment to gather his thoughts. Taylor glances at the floor for a split second before looking back at John and continuing.*****

Shawn Taylor: " To be one hundred percent honest with you John. To be one hundred percent honest to all of those watching and to all of those who surround me."

***** Shawn looks up at Jade and half smiles with a shimmer of happiness. Shawn then looks at Dean Ayass and nods. Taylor then looks back at John Atkins and continues yet again.*****

Shawn Taylor: " I feel like this: I feel great. As of this precise moment in time I am quite possibly in the best physical and mental condition that I have ever been in at once. I am physically one hundred percent and I am sure as hell mentally one hundred percent. I'm not lacking in anything. Never before has the nicknames of the "Virus" and the "XWF's Number One Son" ever been more true. As of this very moment in time, I AM living up to the hype."

***** Shawn stops and nods at John Atkins, awaiting the next question.*****

John Atkins: " Are you sure you're one hundred percent? I think you have a hearing problem. I asked about how you feel towards the possible threats from Mike C and Chesney Clausen. Both potential future match opponents of yours."

***** Shawn looks at Dean Ayass as to "What the hell is he on about?" Shawn shakes his head as he looks back at John Atkins and begins to speak.*****

Shawn Taylor: " I heard EXACTLY what you said, John. I heard every word you had to offer as I did to Chesney Clausen AND to Mike C. I've heard their little individual rants as I did yours. You see I merely attempted to avoid the question because to be truly honest with you, neither of them are top priority's of mine right now. Nor is Mark Adkins with his TV-MA. I have plenty to say about all three of those men but I do believe that this is neither the time or the place to actually express those words of war fare."

John Atkins: " Fair enough. So with that said, it seems to become more apparent that Mark Adkins means business here in the XWF. As does his opponent for Fall Out - Stephen Blood. Now many are asking questions as to whether you and Stephen are now friends. You two always seem to be paying respect to one another and sharing bears as such. Yet still to this day neither of you have actually claimed to like one another. What's going on there?"

***** Shawn sighs and drops his head. Jade begins to tilt her head down towards Shawn's. As she does so, she gently kisses him on the top of his baseball cap as both of them gently rear their heads back up.*****

Shawn Taylor: " Get this Atkins, if Blood and I have never claimed to like one another then doesn't that make something obviously clear? Would I class Blood as a friend that I would invite round to my warm majestic beach house on the shores of Bermuda for a lovely meal for two couples - Hell No! Would I class Blood as a friend if I was standing in the opposing corner to he was - Hell No! Would I class Blood as a friend if he and I were backed in to a corner by a gang - you're damn right I would. You see Blood is an interesting character. If I saw him in a bar then I'd walk over, get talking to him and end up pissed out of my skull. If I saw Blood getting the shit kicked out of him, would I help him out? Of course I would. If I saw Blood standing opposite me with a "Let's Go" look on his face, would he be my friend? There's an Arabic saying that when translated means "My enemies enemy is my friend!" If you class Mike C, Clausen, York or Adkins as Blood's or my enemies then you have your damn answer already. I don't have a problem with Blood at all. In actual fact he's one of my favourite wrestlers in the XWF. If I were to win the World title then I'd sure as hell give him the first shot. Right now isn't exactly the right time to speak about my respect for Blood though. As I'd say to Mark Adkins' claims of Blood being a tag team wrestler only - Lets move on."

***** Shawn gently places his head against Jade's chest as she gently hugs him. Shawn then slowly looks back up at Atkins as Mr. Hardcore continues.*****

John Atkins: " Ok, so as for what apparently "matters" as such. On to Fall Out. You finally have your big shot for the World Heavyweight Championship. You are in the position that Christian York was in this time going in to the last XWF Pay Per View. What are your thoughts now that you are closer to recognising your dream than ever before?"

***** Shawn half smiles as he begins to speak.*****

Shawn Taylor: " What are my thoughts? I'll make my thoughts loud and clear."

***** John Atkins begins to lean forward in his chair anticipating the response from the Virus.*****

Shawn Taylor: " For the past five weeks I have been named as the number one contender for York's World title. For the past Twenty years of my life; it has been my dream to become the World Heavyweight Champion. For the last three years the chances of that dream actually occurring have gradually increased. Those chances more possible. Possible for me to accomplish. After years of bullshit and illustrious title runs, it has finally come to this: a shot at the XWF World Heavyweight Title. A shot to become something I only ever dreamed to be. Now due to recent events, I'm closer to accomplishing that dream than ever before. For the past Twenty Six years of my life it has never been so close. Ever since November 28th 2001, the very day that I first competed in an XWF ring. I have had one goal, one aim, one focus. That is to become the XWF's World Heavyweight Champion. Now after years of blood, sweat and tears. After years of deceit, loyalty, anger, disappointment and satisfaction. I have finally reached the door to my destination. I am now in the main event of the Fall Out Pay Per View, competing for the richest prize that this business has today! After all the years of people looking up to me, people looking down to me. After years of people claiming that I would one day lead the this very company. That one day I would be the Icon, the main event. For those people would claim that I should be next in line for a World title shot, yet I was only ever granted that wish once before. Now after all of these years, I finally reach the spot to where my peers told me that I would reach. Now I finally get my shot to become the Franchise of this company. I am finally there. One man stands in my way, however. One man who holds two submission victories over me with in an XWF ring. A man that has NEVER been on the same side of myself, yet always in the opposing corner when the time comes to do battle. A man that once employed me for his rebellious promotion. A man that hired me for my talent yet refuses to respect me and still to this day claims that I will never amount to anything. The self proclaimed "Elite" of this federation. A man who claims to be ever so great yet fails to display that claim. He holds the World title, that is his only claim to such greatness. This man of course is the one and only Christian Falken York!"

***** Taylor pauses for a moment as he rolls his head gently around his neck. Shawn then looks straight back at John Atkins.*****

Shawn Taylor: " Chris Falken-York........"

***** Shawn pauses for a brief moment.*****

Shawn Taylor: " Chris Falken-York, the man who defeated Carlos Shotgun at Extreme Mania Three. The man who made individual XWF Superstars tap out to his vicious "Version 7.0" finishing hold. The man who went on a run of being undefeated, each week claiming another victory over another XWF star. The guy who demanded an apology from me, directed to him on the last XWF Tele Vision documented broadcast. What have I to be sorry for? He is undoubtedly one of the best Super Stars that this very Federation has to offer to the World or Wrestling today. The main event, the Showstopper, the icon of this very promotion. The man that currently holds the World title belt. Due to that very fact, that he is the World champion, he will be defending his ever so coveted World title. In his first title defence he will meet the number one son of the XWF, the very first British wrestler to step foot in the XWF. This match is merely based on a Champion v.s Contender basis. At Fall Out it will be the Elite v.s the Virus! One pin fall to finish it all. One single three count to end the battle. One pin fall - that's all it takes for this match to end. Maybe a pin fall, maybe a submission, maybe even a disqualification or a count out can end this match. That's all it takes and the most anticipated match of this season is over. Gone, done, finished, no more. At Fall Out it will be America v.s England. Philly v.s Oxford. Elite v.s Virus. Champion v.s Contender. 2K4 v.s Number one son of the XWF. The Version 7.0 v.s the Swift Blade. One of us will prevail as the Champion. One of us will prevail with the richest prize in this industry today. One of us will prevail with the belt to prove that they are the present greatest wrestler alive in this federation today. One of us will be the ultimate icon and one of us will leave with absolutely nothing."

***** Shawn pauses for a moment as he looks over at Dean Ayass.*****

Shawn Taylor: " It's crazy you know. Here in the Alliance house. Eleven years ago I first stepped foot through that very door where I was trained by veterans such as Aviv Maayan, Mark Sloan and Raj Ghosh. For years I trained my ass off un till I was finally ready, when I was I was greeted to the cruel wrestling world in style. I faced opponents. I competed in matches that were good enough for TV. I met a million people, shook a million hands. I finally graduated to the major leagues where Dean Ayass became a friend of mine. With him at ringside I was destined to pick up victories. I stole victories from such great names and not once, not once did I ever believe that I would be sat in the top floor of the Alliance House, discussing my thoughts on an XWF World Title shot at a most anticipated Pay Per View. Damn, how years change. Isn't that right Dean?"

Dean Ayass: " Right!"

***** Shawn half smiles as he looks towards John Atkins.*****

Shawn Taylor: " Now back on to business. Many people claim to be awesome yet they are not main event calibre. I could name name's but that would be a shit boring task. They claim to be the calibre of the XWF's top guns, yet they're not even remotely near five star quality. Of course, York IS main event quality as am I. At Fall Out the two of us enter the Toronto Sky dome. At Fall Out the two of us step in to that more than welcoming XWF ring, only one of us leaves with the World title belt. I have been given the chance, the opportunity to become the number one man of this company today and I will NOT let that opportunity pass. See, York can believe what ever the hell he wants but at the end of the day, whether he likes it or not, he will have to come face up and admit that "Shawn Taylor" gave him a run for his money. York can claim to be one thing or another. He can make accusations about how I will never be a some one and how he is ever so great but the real question remains: Can he back it up?"

***** Shawn stops for a moment as John Atkins looks on in curiosity.*****

John Atkins: " Shawn, I highly doubt that he CAN'T back it up. This is Christian York that we're talking about here. He defeated such great names such as Carlos Shotgun. He also went on an undefeated streak."

Shawn Taylor: " Right. He also LOST to Carlos Shotgun. As for that undefeated streak of his. Well, upon researching the record books it has become more than obvious."

John Atkins: " Obvious to what?"

***** Atkins looks on in curiosity as Shawn looks over at Dean Ayass. Mr. Ayass nods back at Taylor with reassurance as the Virus begins to continue.*****

Shawn Taylor: " Obvious to why I ask the very question "Can he back it up?" I ask that question for why? For what reason? Well check the record books and you'll realise exactly as to why I wonder that. For those of you who think I'm out of my mind then you're either right or awaiting a reason. Ok here: York did go on a run of defeating numerous XWF stars. He may very well have won something like nineteen matches straight. He may have defeated XWF Stars that of past and present to become the undefeated super star that he is. That's all very well. Now ask the question "How many of those, that York defeated, actually had talent?" It's fair enough to say that he defeated nineteen XWF super stars, majority of which - technically speaking - were not much more than glorified jobbers. I know for a fact that many of those stars faded out almost instantly. None of them ever actually amounted to anything. Back in those times I was a nobody too. I was stuck in the same damn position every damn week. Fighting the same people, getting the same reaction. Everything stayed the same. I was a nobody, going no where, never improving. Well look at me now. Ask yourself this: Where is Shawn Taylor now? What position is he in? Has he improved? Well I can and most likely will answer those questions right now. I am in the main event on every damn XWF show. I am in the position that Christian York was in this time last year. Have I improved? Well was I the number on contender for the World title this time last Fall? I am now the number one man to exchange places with Christian Falken York. To become the pivot of the XWF universe. All I have to do is to defeat the man himself at XWF Fall Out. All I have to do is successfully defeat York to prove everything that I am worth. Whether any one likes it or not, I have that opportunity. All I have to do is defeat a man that made a name for himself for defeating a series of nobodies. To obtain that caption of being undefeated, York beat a series of jobbers. Now to an extent that is remotely impressive. Had York become victorious over winning nineteen matches against nineteen of the greatest names on this planet then, and only then, would York be one hundred percent real. Maybe his undefeated streak appeared to be more of a scam than a display of greatness. To this day I wish not to argue that point. Simply because I know York beat me, twice to be honest and I would only put the names of others down. I'm just saying what Dean Ayass put on a plate and claimed that I should use. I know that York isn't an easy task, I'm not saying he isn't. I'm just merely stating the fact that he defeated a series of nobodies to become a somebody. If that is the reason to why he claims to be so great then that really is a disappointment."

Dean Ayass: " Right! A disappointment because York's claim to fame would only be a matter of defeating a selection of un talented wrestlers who fell like they didn't have a heart beat!"

John Atkins: " So what you're saying is that York was only undefeated because he beat people that even the worst of the worst could capture victories over?"

Dean Ayass: " Right!"

Shawn Taylor: " Wrong!"

***** Taylor and Ayass look at each other in disagreement for a brief second. Shawn then looks back at Atkins.*****

Shawn Taylor: " What I'm implying is that York defeated those people because they weren't as gifted as he was as of that time. Had he been facing opponents on the same level or on a higher level than him, THEN would it have been an impressive fact. As I have been told though, facts ARE useless and can be used to prove anything."

Dean Ayass: " Well let me just say this: If York is great because he beat a series of nobodies then give him a damn medal already. The truth is that York became so in love with himself for winning matches against jobbers that he let go of reality and missed what really matters."

***** Taylor lets out a large sigh as jade comforts him. Atkins looks at Ayass in curiosity.*****

John Atkins: " What really matters?"

Shawn Taylor: " What really matters is that of which is most hard to admit to."

Dean Ayass: " Right and what really matters is that at Extreme Mania Three, York defeated Carlos Shotgun to claim his spot as the top dog of this company. What bothers myself - the Twisted Genius, that is this. When York beat Shotgun, Shotgun was at the tail end of his career and he was making it more than obvious that retirement was near to hand. What was first discussed as the most anticipated match on the show became the most obvious match with an obvious winner. Shotgun made it obvious that all he had to do was drop the title to York and he was gone from the XWF. Technically speaking, wrestlers retire when they have nothing left in their tank, just as they begin to face away. That leads to the assumption that York defeated a man that was gradually fading away. Had York pinned Shotgun in his prime THEN would it be a most impressive victory. We're not saying that York is a nobody, because it's more than obvious that he isn't. Quite the opposite. Christian York holds market value alright. The name of "Christian York" can bring crowds in quite easily. That very name DOES have market value. Market value of that in a tag team with a man by the name of Joey Matthews in various independent promotions. Christian Falken York is not much more than a cheap carbon copy of what is already real! The success story of Christian Falken York will always be a fairy tale to convince Francis Lazartic that he wasn't a damn failure all of his life. In that fact, Chris Falken York is just like Chesney Clausen - not much more than a glorified clone! It's hard to admit to the truth, it's damn hard for York to admit to the fact that he is a cheap copy of a profitable worker and that Shawn Taylor IS the new product! Shawn Taylor will prove to the World that he IS the Franchise of the XWF, and that the Million Dollar Franchise of Christian Falken York is nothing but a damn scam!"

***** Shawn looks at Dean in disgust.*****

Dean Ayass: " Let me just say one last thing, which is this. At Fall Out, York will Fall Out of his top spot throne. Shawn Taylor will reclaim it as his own. York's World title will Fall Out of his grasp and Shawn will accomplish his dream. Then, when all is said and done, it will be - The Era of The Virus!"

***** Dean Ayass sits back in his chair looking satisfied with himself as Shawn looks on in sarcasm.*****

Shawn Taylor: " I'm amazed mate, I really am. Thanks for just putting a hefty "come kill me quick" sign on my back."

Dean Ayass: " I'm only speaking what's on my mind......"

***** Shawn interrupts.*****

Shawn Taylor: " Actually, I don't care. Opinions are opinions no matter what they have to prove. Your opinion is that I'm the next champ and that York will be no more. York's opinion is that my career will never amount to anything. Blood's opinion is that I will Swift Blade my way to victory. Clausen's opinion is that I'm his "personal bitch!" Adkins' opinion is that drinking bear with the mayor is fun. Cool, whatever, I don't really care any more. For too long I have listened to those opinions of the people around me, not the opinions of my own. What is my honest opinion on York? I'll make it loud and clear. York is obviously one of the most talented men in this business today. He has done a lot but his claims to greatness just seem to be line fillers as if he has nothing better to talk about. He's pointed insults directly at me, insults which are more like opinions. Do I care about those? No, I don't give a shit. What I give a shit about is my chance to become the XWF's King. Of course, I would love to hold a victory of Chris Falkenyork in one sense or another, who wouldn't? What I need as of this moment is to be focussed on the up coming battle and not about how I could win. Many people get a World title shot and immediately believe that they're at the destination that so many men crave for. I am not at that destination as of this moment, I have to go through York. I'm not losing track of that the man who I have to face to capture the title is the very man that has been the face of many federations in the World today. He is on the list of many feds. Carlos Shotgun, Rage and myself like wise. Other feds put our names on their lists as to who they wish to employ when the XWF goes in to it's off season. Very unlikely do any of those names join the rosters. It just goes to show that the XWF IS the place where the big boys play. The biggest of them all of course is the man that holds the title and as of this moment - it is Christian Falken York."

***** Shawn stops for a brief moment.*****

Shawn Taylor: " However....... However he is the Champion, yet he has NOT defended that title. He has not yet proved that he is worth it. Capturing it is one step, successfully defending it is another. His first defence is six months after he first captured it. Six months with a total of no defences. His first defence is against myself and it appears that since what happened on the last Showdown, I have the upper hand. That is that I gave him a Swift Blade. WooOooo, that really puts me ahead. To be honest with you both of us are at equals. He's the champion, I'm the challenger. We're competing on neutral ground and one of us will walk out the Champion. I honestly don't care as to what Chris Falken York's opinions are. What matters is that we will finally do battle and one of us will claim the top spot of this company. One of us will live up to the description of the Fall Out Banner - "A New Season, A New Champion!" Personally I can not wait to step in the ring with him and personally I will be doing this three word motion as should he be. That is of course to: Bring The Violence!"

***** With that Taylor nods at John Atkins as he turns back to the camera.*****

John Atkins: " Ladies and Gentlemen, as for now, this has been XWF TV. Good Night!"
