"The Shining Star" Andrew Ashton

[:PROLOGUE:]

After all that worrying about submissions, and Andrew has only just realized that he doesn't need them. If Kyle Rayner is knocked out cold, he wont be able to tap, and the match will have to be called off. Not only is Andrew going to beat Kyle Rayner in front of his home crowd, but he is going to knock him the fuck out. He's going to teach him that you do not get on the bad side of a New Era Wrestling Legend. Only bad things can come from it. You don't get made a New Era Wrestling legend for nothing, and Kyle Rayner is going to find out why Andrew is a legend, and why he will never become one.

Kyle Rayner may be full of confidence going in to this match, because he has made Andrew tap out in the build up to Ground Zero, but confidence doesn't do anything. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Confidence does not win you matches. Pure wrestling ability wins you matches. Kyle Rayner is soon going to know what it's like to enter a match full of confidence, and then leave a shattered man. A feeling Andrew had felt many a time in his New Era Wrestling runs.

You know, there is plenty of things about Chicago, Illinois that connect Andrew to it. If you remember, when Andrew first joined Xtreme World Wrestling as Andy Jones, his hometown was actually down as Chicago, Illinois. Why out of all places did he pick Chicago? While he was searching for a big federation, he also worked the small shows there. He lived there for the best part of a year, and made a few friends, and thats why his hometown was Chicago. Not only is Kyle Rayner coming to a hometown crowd, Andrew is coming to a second home town crowd.

The Shining Star goes in to Ground Zero to show Kyle Rayner how things work in New Era Wrestling. You don't just come along and take away a legends spotlight. Many people don't see Andrew as a real legend, and he knows that. Many think he was just put as a legend because he was the first to join NEW, and because he would do anything he was told. They didn't think he deserved it. Those people don't know a fucking thing. Andrew Ashton may not look good when he is put up next to Aaron or Timothy, but those two aren't in New Era Wrestling. There is no shadow there. If they were here, maybe there would be a shadow, but they arent, so there isnt. And anyway, who can look good when compared to Timothy or Aaron? The Shining Star heads in to Ground Zero for the fight of his life, and he will come out on top.

Andrew: Damn, it's cold.

Andrews voice once again brings the scene in. He is seen walking down a fairly busy street, with a black bag swung over his shoulder. He wears a pair of black Adidas pants, a blue McKenzy pull over, and a blue, silver, and white New York Yankee's hat. The sun is down, and smoke from car exhausts fills the air. Andrew continues to walk, with his head down.

After thinking about it even more, he began to realize that near enough every step Kyle Rayner has made in New Era Wrestling, Andrew has done exactly the same in his former runs, yet Kyle Rayner fails to notice this. If Kyle Rayner is only just doing it now, and Andrew Ashton was doing it a year ago, doesn't that prove who the better man is? If Kyle Rayner was as good as he is, he would have been the person doing it before Andrew. I mean, the guy is twenty eight years old. Theres not much left in his tank. He's making his way into the business as an old man.

"Kyle Rayner can act all tough, but at the end of the day, it shouldn't take too much to tire him out. As soon as he's getting tired, thats when I make my move. Even if it means getting my ass kicked for most of the match, and my only move being the winning one, I won't care. A win is a win. It makes a win even better if you follow the gameplan you made at the beginning, and win the match that way. Kyle Rayners days in a New Era Wrestling ring will be made even shorter after tonight." Andrew thought to himself. He continued to think.

Kyle Rayner is going to be one of those guys who stays in the ring untill he can hardly move, refusing to let anyone else be in the spotlight. Refusing to let anyone else be in the main event. With all the new, young tallent New Era Wrestling has been getting over the past weeks, it wont be too long before Kyle Rayner is drove out of NEW. He needs to realize that he has left it too far in his career to become a professional wrestler. He's reached his peak as an old man, and even at his peak, he wins a match every now and again. He isn't expected to win every week, unlike most of the New Era Wrestling roster. When Kyle Rayner wins, it is a one off. Or someone interferes, and he reaps the benefits.

Before Andrew knew it, he was at the arena. There were already a few people waiting outside for the doors to be open. Probably hoping to catch a glimpse of a few of their favourites. Andrew just kept his head down, and continued to walk past them. Suddenly, he felt a tug on the back of his pants, and turned around, to see a little kid, holding out a pad and a pen towards him.

Kid: Can I have your autograph?

Without thinking, Andrew quickly replied.

Andrew: Sure! I mean..

Andrew stood, staring at the child for a moment. Why did he say yes? The fans have been nothing but trouble for him sinse he returned. They waisted no time in turning their back on him. In the drop of a hat, they went from loving him, to wanting him dead. They gave him grief everytime he walked past them. Everytime he walked into an arena. Everytime he walked through the curtains. For example, tonight. They will be on his ass like Carson on somoene elses roleplays a fly on crap.

But for some reason, looking at the kid, he just wanted to sign it. He reached out for the pad and pen, but then quickly threw his arms back to his side. He wasn't going to sign shit for any of them. As far as he was concerned, they were dead.

Andrew: Go awa--

He couldn't do it. He reached down for the pad and paper, and began to scribble down his name. He looked about to make sure no one else could see him doing this. When he had finished, he passed the pad and paper back to the kid. He then reached up for his hat, and took it off. He then placed it on the kids head, winked, and began to walk in to the arena, as the scene began to fade out...

Traces of the old Andrew Ashton were still inside him, and he could not get rid of them. He had to forget about the fans, and just look out for himself, but he found it hard doing so. After all the forgiving they did for him when he lost matches, why can't he forgive them for one little thing? He was confused about what to do, but he had to stop thinking about it.

He had to focus on Kyle Rayner, and Kyle Rayner only. Nothing else. One thing was for sure: Andrew was going to leave Chicago as the victor. There was no question about it. Kyle Rayner was going to tap out. He was going to squeel in pain. And Andrew was going to laugh at the end of it all. At Ground Zero, Andrew moves up the New Era Wrestling rankings even more, and establishes himself as the best in the company. The Shining Star continues to be what he is most, and that is successful.
