"Wipe the Nose"

Okay, here's how to create a good taunt for a Raven or Spike Dudley CAW. I call it "Wiping Nose", and basically it looks as if he squats down and wipes or scratches his nose.

I'll show you how I did it, but this isn't the finished version, and feel free to tweak it to hell if you want.

First off, you need to set up your bases. These are:

1.BASE NO 18
2.BASE NO 18

Yes, they're both Base 18.

Next, you need to modify your animation. Go to modify, and select "Upper". This is the only bit we'll use - I might, however, get sneaky some other day and make him shuffle his feet as he does this.

This is where it gets complicated - we have to edit the "key" scenes.

First of all, leave the first "DEFAULT" key scene where it is, but - since our base taunts don't change - delete all the others, except the last one which should be put in the very last position available.

Now, the two key scenes we're going to use are numbers 138 & 145. You can time this any way you want, but here's how I did it.

Move along to highlight the 14th frame. Select it, and select pose #138. This will make him bring his hand up to his nose, as though he's scratching it.

Now, to make him drop his hand a little, leave 2 blank spaces after this pose and select pose #145.

With me so far? Good. Now, for added effect, we'll make him do it all again. Leave another two blank spaces and select pose #138.

This time, though, he's going to move a little slower, since he's getting ready to stand up again, so leave 3 blank spaces this time and put in #145 again.

(I added #145 in that second time because it looks more natural. If you don't believe me, leave it out - it just won't look as good.)

Now press circle, and watch the Green Man indulge in some very poor social behaviour!!
