There is an old saying that says if you play with fire long enough, then you will get burned. One way to play with fire is to obviously use the matches I have shown above. (For legal purposes, I do not wish to challenge the owner for the rights to this picture. These matches and the picture belong to Frontier Match Industry. Their company web site is listed at the end of this commentary.) It seems odd to me that these matches play an important part in possibly getting burned. More importantly, did the UBWF get burned in its last PPV? Let's find out as we explore this concept in our latest edition of The Opening Gambit.

First off, if I couldn't be any more correct in my prediction, the Geek defeated my old nemesis Dr. Death. What a great match! In fact, the only match I was interested in. Out of all the matches that were in the book for BasementMania 2k1 that was the only match that could start a fire. The rest were just little drops of rain in the bucket that no one could care less about.
Apparently no one is taking my advice. And, I see that it is a shame that no one cares either. I know … what advice are you talking about? I think I made a point that the idea of these two factions would cause a rut, and so it has. The concept of having one faction over another is way over done now guys. You persist on running this angle, yet you fail to see how classic it is to have a match that the whole basis of it is centered on a quest for the title. I know … what the hell do you mean now? isn't that what the Youth Liberation is pushing now as their angle?
I'll answer the second part of my question first to supplement the meaning of this commentary. HELL NO! The Youth Liberation thinks that the World owes them something. And they are far from it. Yet, someone at the "UBWF OFFICES" is "BITCHING" for so much new stuff to go on, that they are willing to throw out titles to anyone and everyone! You don't believe me? Then how is it the "New Guys" have most if not all of the new titles that have been introduced in the past year? Who has been doing whom? You give these guys titles and they want more? What is the deal? Yeah sure they fight for titles, but it is amongst themselves, and the same goes vice versa with the Old School. (The only exception being the Tag Titles. The UBWF has never been able to get a team of two that can think and work well together.)
My point I will stress again is this…
CHANGE THE COURSE OF OUR PATH! The more you want to stay on it, the more you are striking up a match asking the UBWF to go UP IN A BLAZE! But this blaze will not be a blaze of glory, instead it will be a blaze of SHIT that it's members created. And I am glad I won't be around to see that occur. After all, I stir up enough fire already from the book of matches I have.
