TWF Wrestlemania 8........ The biggest event of the year just got bigger.
We here at the Cash Flow deliver the truth, for a nominal fee of course.
This here is your host Peter Cash, the man with the plan. Are you ready? You better be, because we take no prisoners on the road to Mania and if you’re nothing but extra baggage, you’re getting left behind.
Well I must say this year I am more excited about this spectacle than ever and I believe it’s understandable why. Top to bottom this card is absolutely amazing, with the greatest singles and tag team competitors in the world, that all belong to the TWF, showcase their skills. So with that being said, let’s get going with my picks.
Peter’s Predictions
Lets start things off with the match everybody has their eyes on, and in my opinion that is the TWF Heavyweight Title Matchup.
CHALLENGER: MONEY MIKE w/ Stephanie McMahon VS. TRAVIS WAKEMAN w/ Melina
*Special Referee: "High Octane" Damion West
This match should be one for the ages, and what makes it even bigger are the circumstances surrounding it. I mean, you’ve got High Octane as the guest ref, who has been sidelined recently but will no doubt play a major role in the finish of this match. I have no doubt in my mind at this point in time. Good or bad, West may quite possibly be the deciding factor in what happens here. But, let’s not get off topic here as the real story is the two competitors fighting for the most prestigious prize. For months, Travis Wakeman has shown absolutely no fear, with title defenses most would call crazy, prime example being back at the Rumble with injured ribs against a man who was primed and ready to take his belt, Mark Henry. Case in point, Wakeman is a technical wizard with all the holds to keep his belt. Now, on the other side of the coin we have Money Mike who is a master at mind games, and a pretty damn fine wrestler in his own right. TWF World Title reigns don’t exactly go to just anyone ya know. And let’s not factor out the Stephanie McMahon and Melina aspect. Catfight anyone? But all that aside, including personal thoughts on the two men I have to go ahead and say.........
Winner and Still TWF World Champion Travis Wakeman. I say the match goes anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes, and if not I’ll be shocked. But whatever cards Money Mike decides to deal out at Mania, I can’t help but see a Royal Flush in his future.
TWF UNIVERSAL TITLE MATCH
CHALLENGER: JOHN CENA VS. RANDY ORTON
The two examples of what many consider to be the future of the TWF are on hand in the Universal Title match up. The F-U versus the RKO, Doctor of Thuganomics versus the Legend Killer, is sure to not disappoint. Cena has so many aspects to his game with a brawling style that he mixes well with some technical and submission moves such as his devastating STFU submission hold. Randy Orton, a 2 time Universal Champion is no slouch himself, often credited with one of the best dropkicks in the game, he can knock your lights out with his RKO like that. As Jim Ross sometimes says, it’s quicker than a hiccup. But what will be the outcome of the match with such high stakes, who will be the future of the Primetime division and take hold of the belt?
Winner and New TWF Universal Champion- John Cena I hate to go against the RKO, but Cena has been on such a roll as of late he seems hard to stop, and Orton didn’t exactly seem in tip top shape in his pick your poison match this week on Primetime.
Oh boy am I ever ready for this next one.
THE FRANCHISE VS. HEARTBREAK KID
JORDAN ROCKWELL VS. SHAWN MICHAELS
With a headline like that, it’s not too hard to get into this match. But there is no doubt in my mind that this match won’t be just hype. Jordan Rockwell isn’t called the Franchise because of the perks, he has proven himself to be worthy of everything he has earned and I stress the word earned more than anything else. And then we have the Heartbreak Kid himself, The Icon, The Showstopper, the man that has made a living out of big match performances. He may kick Rockwell’s teeth down his throat before it’s all said and done, or he may get put down. But one thing we have learned from watching Shawn Michaels in action for so many years is that when he goes down, he does it in a blaze of glory. Now with all of that in mind, who will win this confrontation of monumental proportions?
Winner via pin fall- "The Franchise" Jordan Rockwell
Rockwell came up a bit short last year, and that defeat no doubt left him bitter, but I see him taking it to HBK here, in what I expect to be nothing short of a classic. I can see this match running its course anywhere from 12 to 25 minutes, and watch for an amazing finish, because neither of these fierce competitors want to take the loss on the grandest stage.
ECW WORLD TITLE MATCH
CHALLENGER: NEMESIS VS. "THE SHOW" JOE COREY w/ Paul Heyman
You know I really want to say Nemesis will take this one, but it’s just not going to happen. As much as I hate to admit it, but The Show is just too damn good to lose his belt on the grandest stage of them all, and I see him drilling Nemesis with a big loss here.
SPECIAL ATTRACTION
AXL IRVIN w/ Traci Brooks VS. "STONE COLD" STEVE AUSTIN
Axl Irvin will win this match. Now yes there is a method to my madness. He has the Traci factor in his corner, and being a formal Universal Champion doesn't hurt too much either. Now don’t get me wrong, Stone Cold Steve Austin is probably the toughest S.O.B the TWF has ever seen. But Irvin has just been playing mind games recently, with the truck and all, and he seemed to be in a zone after all the fun and games were done on Primetime. I see him taking the next big step and defeating the Texas Rattlesnake.
WRESTLEMANIA JACKPOT
CM PUNK VS. ROB VAN DAM VS. BOBBY LASHLEY VS. EDGE VS. FINLAY VS. CHRIS MASTERS
So much talent in one match, and I can’t help but contemplate who will come up the victor. So now I will use the process of elimination. Masters will not win in my opinion. Finlay loves to fight, but this won’t be his night. Edge is the rated R superstar, but I don’t care. RVD is the king of extreme to many, but he won’t take the jackpot. Now CM Punk and Bobby Lashley are left. I love Punk, but Bobby Lashley’s raw power is just too much to overcome for any of these men. Lashley gets the win.
OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST VS. NCAA CHAMPION
KURT ANGLE VS. MATT "MADIK" CRUZ
Oh boy does Cruz have his work cut out for him here. He is no doubt the underdog against the technical wiz that is Kurt Angle. Cruz no doubt has an excellent career ahead of him, but I think he may just get put down at the hands of the Olympic Hero. It should be a very good match, with counter and chain wrestling alike, and I see Angle taking the win here with the ankle lock.
TWF KING OF CABLE TITLE MATCH
CHALLENGER: J.J. "THE RAM" RAMPLIN VS. JASON OLIVER
These two young competitors already have a bit of a history, with winning the match of the year for 2006 and all, JJ Ramplin and Jason Oliver no doubt want to one up themselves again. But their focus shouldn’t be on all of that, and they need to focus on being fluent in their maneuvers and putting their opponent away. Ramplin may have a slight size advantage, but Oliver is no quitter. But one thing is for sure, the K.O.C Champ must beware of the Rams Horns..... ouch! Now I have a lot of respect for both these guys and I expect nothing less than a quality match. But when the dust settles I am going to say Jason Oliver retains in a hard fought bout.
I’m going to speed up these picks for the sake of the column so........
TRIPLE THREAT/TWF TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
THE BLOOD BROTHERS VS. CHAOS WOLF AND VLAD THE IMPALER w/ James Mitchell VS. (c) STRIFE AND BAHAMUT
The Blood Brothers may be on a bit of a skid as of late, but they are going to get back on track here and regain the tag team titles that they so rightfully own.
MR. KENNEDY VS. DUDE LOVE
Pretty cool to see the Dude back in action, but Kennedy is not about to let his rise to the main event level be shut down here. He picks up the win; there may even be some kind of disqualification finish. But there will most likely be a Kennedy...... Kennedy victory here.
RAMPAGE TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
CHALLENGERS: EYE SPY w/ Candice Michelle VS. WORLD's GREATEST TAG TEAM
I like this new team of eye spy, and they are made up of a hell of a lot of talent, so I pick them to take the straps here.
HALL OF FAME CHALLENGE
CHRIS PLATOON VS. ROWDY RODDY PIPER
Platoon has done nothing but run his mouth over the past few months, but he has backed it up in the ring, picking up victories over the likes of Ric Flair. But Piper, although of age, is still no slouch. I’ll take Piper in an emotional victory in his return match!
FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE
JOHNNY HAZARD w/ The Harem VS. EDDIE SAINT JAMES w/ Monica
I like this match on paper, two young studs going at it with no rules to keep them apart. I can’t deny the athletic prowess of either of these guys, and they may take it to the limit before all is said and done. But I’m going to go and pick Hazard after a brutal war.
TAZ VS. KEVIN THORN w/ Ariel
Another match with potential and Taz is a major player even though he has been out of the picture recently. Thorn is hungry though, and I’ll give him the upset here. I hope my predictions didn’t rub anybody the wrong way, and if they did, well just get over it, or do me one better, prove me wrong.
Alright ladies and gentleman as promised, my sit down interview with the reigning King Of Cable Champion Jason Oliver.
PC: "Jason, glad you could make time to be here".
JO: "Great to be here Pete, now that the stupid happy greetings are out of the way, what’s up"?
PC: Ha, always with the classic sense of humor. But we always hear that once you get past the arrogance, Jason Oliver is a damn fine guy. So in regards to that, how are things on the Rampage side going for ya"?
JO: Well I'd love to say they're going great, but if you’ve been watching the show, you'd know I got a piece of crap, a larger piece of crap and the biggest blow hard, mother. Well I shouldn’t say that on T.V. should I? Someone may get mad, well let’s just say the only person that would touch him is his mother, and these people I’m talking about are ECW".
PC: "Well we have plenty of time to get to the topic of ECW. But first, you being the K.O.C champ, there’s no doubt you've got Mania on the mind. Talk to us about your opponent at the grandest stage of them all, JJ Ramplin, and of course about the infamous occurrence that took place a week or so ago on Rampage".
JO: "Well me and Fat Boy go way back, Mike may have brought him in but I made him who he is, and God am I going to be paying for that in the after life. Thing is, I've beaten JJ twice, made him tap once, pinned him the other time, he’s got no chance at Mania because the King of Sting is going to whip his ass so bad that Corey wouldn’t even touch it. Now for the flag, people have been asking me all week, what are you going to do about the flag? What about the flag? He burned the Canadian flag, well yeah he did but that was to get into my head, maybe it worked, maybe it didn’t, but I can tell you one thing, the Canadian Mustang is going to stomp the ECW's Ram".
PC: "Well I know the eyes and ears of the world will be on that match up. But that leads me to this, what other match on the card besides yours are you most interested in seeing"?
JO: "Well I’ve said it before and I'll say it again, Mike against Wakeman is going to sell the show, Ramplin and Oliver is going to steal it. God I hope Mike taps out. Orton versus Cena should be interesting, HBK versus Rockwell is going to be great so all of those I guess, and well it won’t be much of a match but seeing Stone Cold whip Axl Irvin's ass is going to be cool".
PC: "Oh yeah, hey speaking of WrestleMania moments, I was wondering if you have an all time favorite Mania moment or match".
JO: "Tough, I'd say Wakeman versus Lesnar, great match and seeing Lesnar hit the shooting star press was bloody amazing".
PC: "Okay, on to a part I've been looking forward to..... word associations, so champ, are you ready"?
JO: "Hell yeah I’m ready".
PC: 'Sounds like a yes to me, okay let’s get started".
PC: Travis Wakeman
JO: Broncos Suck
PC: Money Mike
JO: Bad leader
PC: JJ Ramplin
JO: Fat Boy
PC: Joe Corey
JO: Pretentious son of a bitch
PC: ECW
JO: Rob Van Dam
PC: Canada
JO: Greatest country in the world
Jordan Rockwell
JO: Idol
PC: Max Ogden
JO: Shoe shine boy
PC: Wrestlemania
JO: Biggest stage of them all
PC: Reigns Of Destiny
JO: Old name for the Claymore
PC: Asylum
JO: Piece of sh*t
PC: SMW
JO: Better than Asylum
PC: Shane Bentley
JO: Needs to get a life
PC: "Okay as always, never a shortage of opinion from the man that many feel is a lightning rod of controversy, Jason Oliver. Jason I'm afraid we're just about out of time, but I want to make a habit of giving guests the last word. So, do you have anything to say about Ramplin, Corey, ECW, Rampage, or the TWF in general"?
JO: "Well to Corey I say, that title your holding is a vanity prize, Ramplin you’ll never get this title I’m holding and ECW in general stop sucking each other off for a second and listen, if you're going to play with fire, you're going to get burned and I’m a (expletive) inferno! Now to the TWF and anyone wanting a shot at my title, you better know that this is my world and you just live in it"!
PC: "And that’s a rap, until next time!
