Welcome to the sixth edition of the Cain Connection. We are just days away from the first Pay Per View event of the new year, War in the Winter. No other name is more appropriate for this event, as some of these superstars on this card are looking to go to war against each other. In this edition, I'm going to run down the current card for the ninth War in the Winter Pay Per View and give some opinions along the way. So lets not hold you up any more...

Lets start things off with the cage match between Sylvester Terkay and Chris Masters. Both former champions went at it at the final PrimeTime of 2009 and the match was thrown out. Since then, both men have earned a victory over the other in the weeks leading up to the Pay Per View. With these two in a cage, this one truly will be war. Both men are tough as they come, but in the end I see Chris Masters leaving Canada with another win over the Manbear.

The BoogieSaints will be in action when they take on JJ Ramplin and a mystery partner. Some might point out the obvious choice for the partner, but you can never be sure until it happens. BoogieSaints have been much more successful than I had expected they would. I'm going to say that the reign ends here and the belts go to JJ and whoever his partner is going to be.

Nails is set to return to take on Blade in a normal match. Nails didn't want hardcore rules in this one, which makes one ask why. Blade had an all time confidence high when he thought he had taken Nails out, but he's going to deserve everything he gets on PPV. He doesn't have a chance, I'm afraid.

Axl Irvin won the WrestleMania jackpot match just last year. Since then, he's had to fight off everyone who's been after his briefcase. With the expiration date for the Championship match set to expire in the next few months, Axl must take on Edge in an attempt to recover his stolen briefcase. If I were Axl, I would stop lugging the thing around and cash in on it already. Had he done that by now, these things wouldn't happen. I don't have a good feeling for Axl going into this one. Both John Cena and Shane Thompson lost their matches at MeltDown, that seems to be the only thing the two have in common. They went at it in tag competition on the last PrimeTime and both fought through the crowd and left their partners to fend for themselves. A Shane Thompson win would be nice to see, but I see Cena leaving with the win.

One of the main events for the event comes from Rampage, with Canada's own Jason Oliver teaming with Ted Dibiase to face TWF champion, Randy Orton and former GeNext member Cody Rhodes. Jason Oliver was finally able to become the champion at MeltDown, but couldn't hold onto it through his first defense thanks to Cody Rhodes. Oliver's team must win for Oliver to get a rematch at the title. That along with the Pay Per View in Oliver's home country convinces me that Jason Oliver and Ted Dibiase will get the win here.

Kevin Thorn has risen through the ranks of PrimeTime as of late, after his impressive win over John Cena at MeltDown. Rockwell has had the upper hand over his fanged foe in the past few weeks. I'll say Thorn has a chance to become the new Universal champion, but it's not likely in my book.

Looks like a pretty good show, wouldn't mind seeing more matches from the Rampage side of things though. The weather outside may be cold, but once the TWF gets to the Air Canada Centre, the action is going to heat up like never before! See ya there.
