The stars of Rampage made their first trip to Minneapolis since January 2006 and they were welcomed by a huge crowd. Before a big night of action, Uprising kicked things off with 3 matches. Non-Title Jillian Hall vs. Women's Champion: Mickie James The night got started off with two of the better wrestling divas on the roster, but this one didn't go long. Jillian came out trying to bully Mickie, looking to earn a possible future title shot. But after whipping her to the corner, Mickie got two feet up in Jillian's face when she ran in and then crushed her with the 'Mick Kick' to win it. Tyrone Zorilla vs. Aldo Corleone w/ Rob Storm Zorilla was still looking for his first TWF win, but he ran into the wrong man on this night. Aldo was dominant against Zorilla, and after reversing an irish whip, he blasted him with the Mafia Kick. That led to the "Aldo Bomb" and that was all she wrote. The Hollywood Blondes vs. World's Greatest Tag Team The main event of Uprising featured two teams trying to position themselves for a tag team title shot and it also featured 4 of the top athletes in the TWF. But when the Blondes double teamed Shelton Benjamin a second time, things quickly broke down. Charlie Haas came in and took Johnny Nitro out of the ring with a clothesline before catching Joey Mercury with the Exploder suplex. Nitro tripped Haas up from the floor and yanked him under the bottom rope, outside the ring. But inside the ring, Benjamin caught Mercury with the T-Bone and covered him for the 1......2......3. THE WORLD's GREATEST TAG TEAM CELEBRATED ONE OF THEIR BIGGEST WINS IN A LONG TIME AS THE STAGE CREW GOT THINGS SET FOR RAMPAGE. LILIAN GARCIA ENTERED THE RING AND NOTIFIED THE FANS THAT RAMPAGE WOULD BE GOING LIVE ON THE USA NETWORK IN 60 SECONDS! RAMPAGE GOES LIVE
RAMPAGE STARTS WITH IT's OPENING MONTAGE WHILE "TO BE LOVED" PLAYS. THE ARENA THEN COMES INTO THE SHOT AND PYRO POUNDS OFF EVERYWHERE AS JIM ROSS AND JERRY LAWLER OPEN THE SHOW. *DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS, THIS EDITION OF RESULTS WILL BE CONDENSED*
"KING OF KINGS" BY MOTORHEAD HITS AND THE SHOW STARTS WITH MONEY MIKE AND STEPHANIE McMAHON COMING OUT TO SOME SERIOUS HEAT. MONEY MIKE TALKS ABOUT WHAT HE DID TO TAZ AT MELTDOWN, GOING ON TO SAY THAT HE MOST LIKELY ENDED HIS CAREER. STEPHANIE MAKES THE COMMENT THAT IF TAZ EVER SHOWS HIS FACE IN THE TWF AGAIN, SHE WILL PERSONALLY "BITCH SLAP" HIM BACK OUT. BUT SUDDENLY, THE LIGHTS GO OUT AND A RED SMOKY HAZE BILLOWS OUT OF THE ENTRANCE. THE BOOGEYMAN CRAWLS OUT AND THE FANS CHEER AS HE MAKES HIS WAY TO THE RING. SEEING HIS MOUTHFUL OF WORMS, STEPHANIE QUICKLY BAILS OUT OF THE RING. MIKE SEEMS AS THOUGH HE IS GOING TO STAND TALL IN THE RING, BUT AS SOON AS BOOGEYMAN SLITHERS IN, HE TOO GETS OUT. MONEY MIKE AND STEPHANIE RETREAT AS THE BOOGEYMAN PERFORMS HIS WEIRD BODY MOVEMENTS IN THE RING AS HIS MUSIC PLAYS. COMMERCIAL BREAK............ RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE....... Mark Henry vs. Chris Tirpak After Mark Henry came to the ring, Chris Tirpak made his way through the crowd, with his kendo stick. But once he got into the ring, he ran into the wall that is Mark Henry. After clubbing Tirpak with a nasty clothesline, Henry crushed him in the corner with a body splash. He then found Tirpak's kendo stick and broke it over his knee. Henry went for another splash in the corner, but Tirpak moved and after a running foot to the face, Tirpak hammered Henry with a barrage of right hands. He then tried to irish whip the King of the Jungle, but Henry reversed it and caught Tirpak with the "World's Strongest Slam" to bring a very abrupt end to the match. Match Time: 4:02 BACKSTAGE AREA........ CAMERAS IN THE BACK PICK UP A CONVERSATION BETWEEN CARLITO AND TRINITY. CARLITO SEEMS TO BE GETTING A LITTLE PUSHY, AND TRINITY IS DEFINITELY TURNED OFF. Trinity: "Back off, Carlito, I said....... Carlito: "Yeah, Carlito heard what you said, but it wasn't what you said last week! Ya know, this is what I hate about women"! CARLITO HAS AN APPLE AND TAKES A BITE OUT OF IT, BUT BEFORE HE CAN DO ANYMORE, LENNY ARMSTEAD COMES UP. Lenny Armstead: "Swallow it, Carlito. And instead of messing with her, you better go get ready for our match later tonight". CARLITO IS FURIOUS, BUT HE TURNS AND WALKS AWAY AS THE SHOT IS SENT BACK TO THE RING. Luyu Dawnstar vs. Ashley K. This was an excellent match between two divas looking to move closer to a shot at the Women's title. Ashley K. used a few dirty tactics to gain control of the match and after catching Luyu with a yakuza kick, she got a very near fall. After a big float over suplex, Ashley got another 2 count before going to the top rope. She came off with a crossbody but Luyu rolled through it and nearly stole the win. With both women on their feet, Ashley missed with a clothesline and Luyu erased her with a spinning heel kick. She then shot her to the corner and followed in with a nice monkey flip. Luyu was rolling and she grabbed Ashley for the "Eagle's Landing" but Ashley grabbed the top rope to block it. She then rolled Luyu up in a small package and grabbed the ring ropes, something referee Jack Doan never saw as he made the 3 count. Match Time: 8:12 After the match, Ashley caught Luyu with another jump kick to the face and looked to do more damage, but from the crowd came a woman who got into the ring and she kicked Ashley 3 times in the body before sending her to the ropes for a perfect hurracanrana! The woman, who was wearing a pink and white outfit and looked Asian in descent, helped Luyu to her feet as the crowd cheered. Luyu clearly didn't know what to think as the shot faded out. COMMERCIAL BREAK........... RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE...... THE ROCK COMES OUT TO THE RING IN STREET CLOTHES TO A MONSTER CHEER FROM THE CROWD. HE IS IRATE OVER THE WAY HE LOST TO CHRIS MASTERS AT MELTDOWN, AND WANTS ANOTHER SHOT AT MASTERS...... TONIGHT! BUT INSTEAD, RAMPAGE GM MUHAMMAD HASSAN COMES OUT AND SAYS THAT THE ROCK HAS EXHAUSTED HIS WORLD TITLE OPPURTUNITIES AND HE WILL NOT BE GETTING ANOTHER SHOT. HASSAN SUGGESTS THAT THE ROCK LOOK OVER THE CURRENT RAMPAGE ROSTER AND FIND A NEW OPPONENT, AND HE'LL BE HAPPY TO MAKE THE MATCH. BACKSTAGE.....
THE SCENE SHOWS UP BACKSTAGE AND M.X. OGDEN GETS A MAJORITY OF BOOS. HE'S REVIEWING FOOTAGE ON A COMPUTER, WITH HIS RAMPAGE TAG TEAM TITLE NEXT TO THE MONITOR. BRIAN MAJOR SUDDENLY WALKS UP AND THE CROWD CAN BE HEARD GIVING HIM A BIG CHEER.
M.X. Ogden: "Brian, I'm so glad you're okay"!
Brian Major: "Yeah, I'm sure you are. Listen, I know we have our six man tag match tonight, but I wanted to talk to you. Personally, I'm not holding that much of a grudge about what's happened between us, but Brett is. And even though you embarrassed us both, you're a good friend of mine and I don't want you to get seriously hurt, because Brett's looking to tear you apart".
M.X. Ogden: "Tear me apart? Hah! Listen, I don't think you realize something... I am one half of the TWF Rampage Tag Team Champions. I am a former King of Cable. Matter of fact, I am the youngest King of Cable in history, and the youngest person to ever hold any title at all! Not only that, but I am the 2005 King of the Ring! And look at you and Brett... Former NYWC Tag Team Champions. Wow, you must be proud of yourselves. I mean, you held a title in a meaningless federation! What's next, are you gonna get Gary Coleman to support your running for governor of California against all of the other nobodies"?
Brian Major: "Listen to me, alright! You're starting to piss me off, and I'm only trying to help you. You know, help, kinda what the NYWC did for you. Like, oh I don't know, helping you to make it to the big times? Helping you be the superstar you are today"?
M.X. Ogden: "No! They didn't help me at all, I helped me. Alex Shelley has helped me. Tonight, I'll show you exactly what my new training has done for me that the NYWC never could".
Brian Major: "You're so pitiful, man! Why won't you just give credit where credit is due? NYWC helped, and I'm trying to help... Get it through your thick ass skull".
M.X. Ogden: "Sorry, what? I zoned out. Anyways, I'll be nice and not play any videos tonight... Promise".
Brian Major: "Whatever man, you obviously don't get the point. But good, don't play any if you don't want Brett to kick your ass".
M.X. Ogden: "You got it".
BRIAN MAJOR WALKS AWAY AND OGDEN FOLLOWS BEHIND HIM AND THEN SHUTS THE DOOR.
M.X. Ogden: "Chyeah, right"!
OGDEN HITS THE SPACE BAR AND A VIDEO TAKES UP THE ENTIRE TV SCREEN AND BEGINS TO PLAY. AMATEUR FOOTAGE IS ROLLING, AND WE SEE ALEX SHELLEY AND MICKIE JAMES HANGING OUT BACKSTAGE.
Mickie James: "Hey Alex, isn't it so cool that we're both champions here on Rampage? We really could help each other. I mean, I know you're good on that mat, so maybe you can help me out. You think you can teach me how to pull...
SUDDENLY THE FILM CUTS HER OFF AND SHIFTS TO ALEX SHELLEY WHO HAS A HUGE SMILE ON HIS FACE.
Mickie James: "I mean, if that's not too much to ask. I know you're a busy man who's always on the road, and you might not get a chance to...
THE FILM CUTS AGAIN.
Mickie James: That much. But if you've got the time, maybe we can go back to my place and...
THE FILM CUTS ONCE AGAIN AND SHELLEY NODS HIS HEAD WITH A HUGE SMILE.
Mickie James: And of course I can do something for you in return, whatever you want it to be. But, yeah, I'll see you tonight, then".
MICKIE WALKS WAY WITH HER TITLE AND ALEX RUBS HIS.
Alex Shelley: "God... I'm gonna be rubbing something else tonight"!
THE CROWD CAN BE HEARD LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY AS THE FOOTAGE CUTS OUT BEFORE A LOGO WITH A BIG EYEBALL IN IT POPS UP WITH THE PHRASE "I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE...... WE'RE ALWAYS WATCHING".
COMMERCIAL BREAK.......... RETURN FROM BREAK...... RINGSIDE..... Carlito vs. Lenny Armstead Following their earlier confrontation, these two went right at each other. The southpaw Carlito landed some heavy hands, but when he ran the ropes, Armstead responded with a nice dropkick. After a standing moonsault, Lenny had the cover and nearly won it. Armstead backed Carlito into the corner and got up on the middle turnbuckle, pounding him with right hands. The crowd counted along with him, and got up to 7 before Carlito recovered and fell backwards with Armstead for a snake eyes effect. Carlito then delivered a big neckbreaker before putting the boots to Armstead. Carlito then pulled Lenny up by the hair but Lenny blocked a left hand and responded with 3 whip kicks to the ribs before catching Carlito with a sitout jawbreaker. Carlito stumbled around the ring until Armstead grabbed him by the head and neck and then used the ring ropes to deliver a tornado DDT. Rather than going for the cover, Lenny went to the apron and climbed to the top rope, flying off with a missile dropkick. But Carlito had enough left to move out of the way and when Armstead got to his feet, Carlito came from behind with the Backcracker and he covered Armstead to get the win. Match Time: 6:09 After the match, Carlito grabbed another apple out of the corner, took a bite, and then spat it in the face of Armstead before leaving to some serious boos. BACKSTAGE....... BOOS ARE HEARD FROM INSIDE THE ARENA WHEN CHRIS PLATOON IS SHOWN WALKING THROUGH THE BACKSTAGE AREA. SUDDENLY, HE IS APPROACHED BY SNITSKY. Snitsky: "Hey, Platoon..... I just wanted to say, I admired what you did at MeltDown". Chris Platoon: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, let's not get carried away big man. I mean, there's all your back pimples, there's your yellow teeth, and then there's your ugly face. I'm not swingin' that way....... Snitsky: "I meant what you did with that wet t-shirt contest.... freak". Platoon: "Oh, you're callin' me a freak"? PLATOON LOOKS AWAY FOR A MOMENT BEFORE BLASTING SNISTKY WITH A RIGHT HAND. SNITSKY CAN'T BELIEVE HE DID THIS, BUT RESPONDS WITH A RIGHT HAND OF HIS OWN. THE TWO BEGIN TRADING PUNCHES AND THE FIGHT IS ON BEFORE AGENTS STEP IN AND SEPERATE THE TWO. Sylvester Terkay w/ Elijah Burke vs. Austin Pyromania w/ Taylor Made and Kelly With Elijah Burke defeating Taylor Made on the last Rampage, Pyromania was looking to get one back, but it wouldn't come easy against the Manbear. Pyro employed a hit and run attack to start the match, and it frustrated Terkay. But after grabbing Terkay's left arm and twisting it around, Pyromania was dropped with a heavy right. Terkay then followed up with a very aggressive attack, pounding Pyromania. After a big shoulder breaker, Terkay got Pyromania up for the Muscle Buster, but Kelly got up on the apron to provide a nice looking "distraction". But Burke wasn't about to have it, coming over and pulling Kelly off the apron by her right arm. Burke then berated the blonde bombshell before Taylor came from behind and nailed Burke, knocking him into the ringside barricade. In the ring, Terkay had let go of Pyromania who came from behind with a schoolboy to get the 1.......2..........., but that was it! Terkay kicked out at the last possible second and when Pyro came flying off the middle turnbuckle, he destroyed him with a clothesline. Terkay then pulled Pyromania up and used a move that hasn't been used in years- The Heart Punch. Pyromania collapsed on the mat and Terkay covered him for the 3 count. Match Time: 6:06 ECW LEFT WITH THE WIN AND THE CROWD BOOED AS A CONCERNED TAYLOR AND KELLY CHECKED ON PYROMANIA IN THE RING. BACKSTAGE...... CAMERAS IN THE BACK SHOW TED DIBIASE AND TATANKA KNOCK ON A DRESSING ROOM DOOR. CANDICE ANSWERS WEARING A VERY SKIMPY OUTFIT. Ted Dibiase: "Uh, you guys have something to show us"? Candice: "Yeah.... come on in". TATANKA AND DIBIASE BOTH ENTER THE ROOM AFTER CHECKING CANDICE OUT UP AND DOWN. INSIDE, M.X. OGDEN AND ALEX SHELLEY ARE SHOWN LOOKING AT SOME VIDEO FOOTAGE. M.X. Ogden: "This is after Tatanka's match at MeltDown.... look". THE FOOTAGE SHOWS CODY RHODES SITTING IN A DRESSING ROOM, SOBBING UNCONTROLLABLY. OGDEN AND SHELLEY LAUGH AND CRACK JOKES TOWARDS RHODES. Dibiase: "That's good stuff, I always knew that boy was a crybaby"! DIBIASE GOES INTO HIS VERY FAMILIAR LAUGH AS THE SHOT FADES OUT. COMMERCIAL BREAK.......... RETURN FROM BREAK..... RINGSIDE..... 6 Man Tag Team Match Eye Spy and Tatanka w/ Candice and Ted Dibiase vs. The Major Brothers and Cody Rhodes Cody Rhodes was very eager to get into the ring with Tatanka, but Tatanka let M.X. Ogden and Alex Shelley do most of the work. After a double suplex on Rhodes, Eye Spy got up and knocked each Major Brother off the apron with cheap shots. Ogden stood at the foot of the ring, taunting the Majors but Shelley turned around into a dropkick from Rhodes. Rhodes then rolled Ogden up from behind and nearly got the 3 count. Brett Major tagged in and he was all over Ogden, knocking him into the corner with 4 right hands followed by a hard kick to the gut. He then ran the ropes but Candice grabbed his foot. As Brett argued with her, Tatanka tagged into the match and hit Brett from behind. After 3 hard knifedge chops, he shot him to the opposing corner and charged in, but he posted his left shoulder when Brett moved. Brett then slapped the hand of Cody Rhodes who came into the ring with a sunset flip but Tatanka escaped the 3 count just in time. Cody popped up and Eye Spy ran into the ring. Rhodes caught Ogden with a hip toss but he fell victim to a nice STO takedown by Shelley. The Majors came into the ring to help their partner but the Rampage tag team champs held them off as Tatanka delivered the "Trail's End" to Rhodes and covered him for the 3 count, defeating Rhodes for a third time. Match Time: 5:40 BACKSTAGE...... MUHAMMAD HASSAN's OFFICE....... MUHAMMAD HASSAN IS SHOWN IN HIS OFFICE, TALKING WITH JILLIAN HALL, WHEN THE ROCK COMES IN. Muhammad Hassan: "Ah, look, it's the people's champ. So, Rock, have you made your decision"? The Rock: "Oh, you're damn right I have. Ya see, The Rock examined the Rampage roster very closely, and he knows exactly who he wants to face next....... you! You said you'd make the match...... make it". THE ROCK LEAVES THE OFFICE AND HASSAN JUST LOOKS AT JILLIAN, ALMOST IN SHOCK. Fatal 4 Way/#1 Contender for King of Cable Title Jason Oliver vs. Matt "Madik" Cruz vs. Nemesis vs. Mr. Kennedy J.J. Ramplin came out with the King of Cable title which he won back at MeltDown, to get a closer look at who will be challenging him next. The first man to earn a decision would win it, and Cruz and Nemesis quickly turned their focus to Jason Oliver. Oliver tried to fight both men off and Kennedy seemed to be the smart man in the match, letting the three go at it. After a big german suplex from Cruz, Nemesis delivered his chokeslam on Oliver, shaking the ring. Like a snake, Kennedy slid in and tried to cover him, but Cruz pulled him off. Kennedy and Cruz then got into a shoving match and Nemesis got up, trying to seperate them. Kennedy cracked Nemesis with a right hand but Nemesis came back with a boot to the face. Taking advantage of the no dq rules, Oliver went outside the ring and grabbed a steel chair, bringing it into the ring. He smashed Nemesis in the back of the head with it, but before he could do any more damage, Cruz came and clotheslined Oliver over the top rope and to the floor. He followed that up with a suicide dive through the ropes, and both men were on the floor. In the ring, Nemesis was still down and Kennedy went to the top rope, coming off with the Ken-Ton Bomb and hooking the leg to get the 3 count and another shot at Ramplin and the K.O.C. title! Match Time: 5:23 AS KENNEDY's MUSIC PLAYED, HE STARED DOWN AT RAMPLIN, WHO JUST HELD THE TITLE UP WITH HIS RIGHT HAND AS THE SHOT FADED TO BLACK. COMMERCIAL BREAK............ RETURN FROM BREAK....... RINGSIDE....... Non-Title Match Rob Van Dam vs. World Champion: Chris Masters It was time for our main event and this one didn't last long. In fact, the introductions took longer. RVD came into the match looking very prepared and he caught Masters off guard with a bevy of kicks to the head and body. After a spin kick right on the chin, RVD landed the Rolling Thunder and got a long 2 count. Masters tried to fight back, but RVD was simply too quick and after an irish whip to the corner, Van Dam used a perfect monkey flip. Like a cat, RVD then leaped to the top rope and tried to come off with his flying martial arts kick, but Masters loaded up and took him right out of the air with the Polish Hammer, smashing the face of RVD and busting him open. He may've been out cold as the World champion covered him and got the 3 count. Match Time: 3:10 CHRIS MASTERS' MUSIC PLAYED AND HE HELD THE TITLE UP FOR THE CROWD, WHO WAS SHOWERING HIM IN BOOS, AS THE SHOT FADED OUT. OFF AIR.........
