A LINE OF 8 MEN STANDS TO THE RIGHT. ONE MAN STEPS UP AND TRIES TO PULL THE SWORD OUT BUT IT WON'T BUDGE. THE NEXT MAN IN LINE ATTEMPTS TO DO THE SAME THING BUT GETS SIMILAR RESULTS. THOUSANDS OF FANS ARE SHOWN IN THE AUDIENCE AS THE CAMERA PANS THE CROWD. A SERIES OF FIREWORKS GOES OFF ALL OVER THE UNITED CENTER. Jim Ross:"On a night where "Stone Cold" Steve Austin defends the TWF title against the legendary Bret Hart, we are live and we are sold out here in the United Center"! Paul Heyman:"Not only that J.R., but Bret Hart and Tatanka have signed gauranteed contracts with the TWF so this won't be their only night in this organization"! J.R.:"But it will be the only night we will see "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, Mr. Perfect and the Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura in a TWF ring"! Bobby Heenan:"Well as much as I hate to say it, those men can change the course of the way things go for the future in the TWF"! "YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME" HITS AS EDGE COMES OUT. J.R.:"We're gonna kick things off with one of four quarterfinal matches in the King of the Ring tournament"! Heyman:"Well guys, I don't know what you think but this guy is my pick to become King of the Ring"! "THE KINGS" BY RUN DMC HITS AS JORDAN ROCKWELL COMES DOWN THE AISLE WITH LITA. Heenan:"I disagree Paul, his decision to have Christian stay in the back is gonna catch up to him sometime. Not only that, but havin' Lita out here has gotta get ya something"! King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match Jordan Rockwell vs. Edge What a way to start the night off. Two of the young guns in the TWF locked horns with a spot in the final four on the line. Edge came out strong early, connecting with a backbreaker and a flying clothesline. After ducking a clothesline, Edge locked Rockwell in the "Downward Spiral" and scored with it. Referee Chad Patton got down to count 1....2.... and just as he was about to put his hand down for a 3 count, Rockwell got a shoulder up! Edge was shocked but remained focused. He drug Rockwell to the corner and rammed his leg into the post. Rockwell was in extreme pain as Edge used several leg locks and a single leg crab to hamper the leg. Edge then came off the top rope with a flying knee drop which busted Rockwell open but again, could only get a 2 count. Edge then whipped him into the ropes and nailed him with the spear as Patton began to count, 1....2..., kick out by Rockwell. Edge then grabbed Patton by the collar in frustration but when he let go and turned around, Rockwell dropped him with a super kick. Rockwell then delivered a stuff piledriver and hit Edge with a knee drop, cutting him above the eye. After tripping Rockwell up, Edge went for a dropkick but got tossed to the side. Rockwell then whipped him to the corner and lifted him to the top turnbuckle. From there, Rockwell delivered "Extreme Measures" and covered Edge for the win. Match Time: 10:26 J.R.:"There goes your guy Paul! Rockwell's in the semi finals"! Heyman:"Extreme Measures off the top rope? I do not believe it"! Heenan:"Well Rockwell's pretty banged up. He better have Lita do some miracle wrok if he's gonna go any further"! THE HARDY BOYZ' MUSIC HITS AS MATT AND JEFF COME OUT TO A HUGE OVATION. J.R.:"Continuing in the tournament folks and what an oppurtunity tonight for this young man"! Heenan:"See, he's got his brother out here for support. Take some notes Edge"! "FALLING AWAY FROM ME" BY KORN HITS AS THE HARDCORE CHAMPION STRIFE COMES OUT. Heyman:"Jeff Hardy needs more than his brother's support to beat this guy"! King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match Jeff Hardy vs. Strife On paper, big mismatch. Strife entered the ring with a grin on his face that said, "this'll be a walk in the park". But he was surprised by Jeff's quickness and soon realized the skills the 23 year old possesses. After dodging a running boot, Jeff hit Strife with a spinning jump kick and quickly followed with a dropkick and his "Poetry in Motion" move. But after all that offense, Jeff was caught with a flying back elbow and Strife began to batter him with right hands. Jeff seemed lifeless as Strife went for a full nelson slam but Jeff squirmed out of it, kicked Strife in the abdomen and delivered the "Twist of Fate". Jeff hooked the leg with all the leverage he could get and got the pin! Match Time: 5:06 Heenan:"What an upset! Strife's been eliminated"! AFTER THE MACTH, MATT CAME IN TO CONGRATULATE JEFF WHEN AN ANGRY STRIFE CAME BACK IN WITH A STEEL CHAIR AND SLAMMED IT INTO JEFF's BACK. MATT TRIED TO HELP HIS BROTHER BUT CAUGHT A BOOT TO THE FACE. STRIFE THEN DELIVERED HIS NEW FINISHER, A SPIRAL BOMB CALLED "WRONG DESTINATION" RIGHT ON THE STEEL CHAIR. MATT IMMEDIATELY GRABBED THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AND WAS IN OBVIOUS PAIN. J.R.:"What the hell was that for? That's not like Strife at all". Heyman:"And Matt Hardy is scheduled to compete in that fatal four way for the Intercontinental title later on tonight"! BACKSTAGE "STINE COLD" STEVE AUSTIN IS IN HIS DRESSING ROOM LACING HIS BOOTS WHEN VINCE McMAHON COMES IN. Vince:"Hey Steve, how ya feelin'"? Austin:"How do ya think I'm feelin'? I gotta defend the title against Bret Hart tonight. I don't deserve this Vince"! Vince:"I know ya don't Steve and I'll have a plan. I had a plan in Montreal, I'll have a plan tonight". Austin:"Come up with one quick, we ain't got much time". FOOTAGE OF X-FACTOR STEALING BEER FROM THE ACOLYTES DRESSING ROOM IS SHOWN AS X-FACTOR's THEME BY CRACKER HITS. J.R.:"Boy I didn't like the sound of what Vince just told Austin". Heyman:"We are about to witness a tag team title match that started because of, (he pauses) beer"? SUDDENLY THE LETTERS N.W.O. APPEAR ON THE TWF TRON, ACCOMPANIED BY SOME WEIRD MUSIC. J.R.:"What the hell is that"? THE ACOLYTES MUSIC HITS AND THEY COME OUT TO A THUNDEROUS RESPONSE. Heenan:"They better not have been drinkin' tonight or they'll lose those titles"! TWF Tag Team Title Match X-Pac and Justin Credible vs. The Acolytes This was a hectic, but very good match. The much bigger champions wore down X-Factor early, working mainly on X-Pac. But once X-Pac broke free and was able to make the tag to Credible, they worked well as a team. They caught Faarooq with a double hip toss and a wishbone, pulling Faarooq's legs apart. The match frequently had all 4 men in the ring and there was plenty of action outside as well. Referee Tim White had his hands full but he did a great job. Late in the match, X-Pac and Credible hut Bradshaw with the "X Marks the Spot" double superkick. Faarooq came in and took X-Pac outside the ring. Inside, Justin Credible went for the kill. He went up to the top rope and attempted a missile dropkick but Bradshaw got out of the way at the last second. Right as Credible got up, Bradshaw came bouncing off the ropes with the "Clothesline from Hell". He hooked Credible's leg and got the 1-2-3. Match Time: 18:54 J.R.:"Justin Credible got knocked into next week and the Acolytes have retained the titles"! Heenan:"This is a great team! I don't know if anyone can beat them"! J.R.:"Well folks, Mean Gene Okerlund is standing by backstage. Take it away Gene"! BACKSTAGE Gene Okerlund:"Okay guys, what an event so far huh? Well it turns out that Matt Hardy suffered a slight concussion at the hands of Strife tonight and will not be able to compete in the fatal four way tonight as he has been advised not to. I'm told that a suitable replacement will be found. Back to you J.R."! Heenan:"Suitable replacement"? "ENTER SANDMAN" BY METALLICA HITS AS KING KILLER COMES OUT. J.R.:"Who knows who that replacement will be but we've got our third quarterfinal match in the tournament as this man here has a chance to make a huge name for himself and the Confederation for that matter". Heyman:"You gotta wonder how Matt's injury will affect Jeff Hardy who's already advanced to the semi finals". THE LIGHTS GO OUT AND A RING OF FIRE IGNITES ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP. THE LEVIATHAN STEPS THROUGH IT ALONG WITH PAUL BEARER AS THE GATES OF HELL THEME PLAYS. Heenan:"Here we go! I've said it all along, this man is this year's King of the Ring"! J.R.:"Should be a very interesting match between two very dangerous individuals"! King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match The taller King Killer came right after the Demon of the Deep and took the fight to him. Killer hammered away on Leviathan with hard right hands but when he went for a belly to belly suplex, Leviathan blocked it and threw him to the mat. The Leviathan used a running ddt as he came off the ropes and blatant chokes to slow Leviathan down. Suddenly, Maddogg, Duke Williams and Bull Buchanan came down the aisle. Referee Mike Kiotta quickly saw them and told them to go back. Out came Nails and Papa Shango and the fight was on. During the fracas, Maddogg threw a 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire to King Killer. It also had the Confederate flag attached to it. King Killer swung it right in Leviathan's face behind Kiotta's back. He then dropped Leviathan with his devastating "Rise of the South" move. Kiotta turned around and made the count 1....2....3! Match Time: 5:14 Heyman:"The Confederation has pulled one over on the Gates of Hell"! Heenan:"That's the biggest upset of the tournament"! J.R.:"Well I don't like the Leviathan and I definitely don't like the Gates of Hell but that was wrong"! BACKSTAGE TERRI GOLD ENTERS TIANA TAYLOR's DRESSING ROOM. Terri Gold:"Hey Tiana, I just wanted to congratulate you on becoming the first ever Queen of the Ring. I hope the TWF has the tournament again next year". Tiana Taylor:"Thanks Terri, I appreciate that". JESSICA LOPEZ IS SHOWN WATCHING ON A MONITOR WITH A DISGUSTED LOOK ON HER FACE. "AMERICAN BADASS" BY KID ROCK HITS AS NUKE COMES OUT. J.R.:"This will be our last quarterfinal match and here comes the four hundred and fifty pound former Hardcore champion". TRAVIS WAKEMAN's MUSIC BY WESTSIDE CONNECTION HITS WITH A FIREWORKS DISPLAY AS HE AND TRISH HEAD TO THE RING. Heyman:"What a feather it would be in Nuke's cap not just to advance to the semi finals but to defeat a former TWF champion"! Heenan:"Wakeman's givi' up two hundred pounds so he'll have to rely on quickness and agility here". King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match Nuke vs. Travis Wakeman Wakeman was at an extreme disadvantage as he came out throwing right hands, which seemed to have no effect on Nuke. Nuke caught him with a knee in the midsection and then kicked him in the side of the head. He battered Wakeman with a big splash and a legdrop and then hit him with his sambo/german suplex combo but Wakeman kickedout at 2. Wakeman stayed with his right hand as the fans got behind him. After a big clothesline, Wakeman went for a flying clothesline off the top rope but Nuke ducked and Wakeman took out referee Earl Hebner. With Hebner down, Nuke caught Wakeman with a boot to the face. Suddenly, a rope lowered from the arena rafters, a hammer attached to the end of it. Nuke grabbed the hammer and smashed Wakeman right in the face! A man wearing a ski mask and dressed all in black lifted the rope up and ran to an exit. Meanwhile, Nuke helped Hebner up as Trish watched in horror. Wakeman was bleeding profusely as Nuke pinned him by putting one foot over his chest. Match Time: 7:41 J.R.:"What the hell just happened? Some guy has cost Wakeman the match from over one hundred feet away"! SEVERAL EMT's COME OUT TO TEND TO WAKEMAN. Heenan:"And Wakeman is hurt, he's goin' to the hospital"! Heyman:"Nuke has done it! He's gotten the biggest win of his career and he's in the semi finals"! BACKSTAGE.... VINCE's OFFICE... THERE's A KNOCK AT THE DOOR. Vince:"Come in". LINDA McMAHON ENTERS. Oh hi Linda, how nice of you to drop by". Linda:"Save it Vince. Now I heard that you're gonna come up with a plan to save Stone Cold's title tonight. Well I won't let history repeat itself, so to insure there's no screw job tonight like there was in Montreal, I'm barring you from ringside". LINDA WALKS OUT AS VINCE LOOKS VERY ANGRY. TAJIRI's MUSIC HITS Heyman:"Linda McMahon has no right to be doing this, she's ruining everything"! SPIKE DUDLEY's MUSIC HUTS, HE COMES OUT TO A GOOD REACTION. J.R.:"She's ruining what Paul? These fans being screwed out of a clear winner? The only reason Tajiri has a chance to become lightheavyweight champion here is because he's done a few chores for Vince lately"! JERRY LYNN's MUSIC HITS AS HE COMES OUT WEARING THE LIGHTHEAVYWEIGHT TITLE. Heenan:"Well you can't deny Tajiri's abilities J.R.". Heyman:"These three have earned this oppurtunity. There three of the best in the world and the fact that they're ECW alumni doesn't hurt either"! Triple Threat/TWF Lightheavyweight Title Match Tajiri vs. Spike Dudley vs. Lightheavyweight champion Jerry Lynn With a 30 minute time limit, this one almost went the distance. The match was filled with non stop action as well as several pin attempts and break ups. Each man put his heart into winning it and each man came close several times. Lynn hit Spike with his "Whole Show" move but Tajiri broke stopped the count only to have Spike catch him with the "Dudley Dog" out of nowhere but Lynn broke that sure pinfall up. Then Tajiri slapped the Octopus on Lynn who was ready to tap out but Spike seperated the two at the last minute. The fans loved every second of the match and chants of ECE, ECW, ECW could be heard. Late in the match, it seemed Lynn realized he had the champions advantage and he was trying to do everything he could to slow things down and take a time limit draw. But after Spike got nailed with a kick from Tajiri, Lynn tried to win it with a moonsault off the top rope onto Spike. But Spike rolled away at the last second as Lynn landed face first on the mat. The oppurtunisitc Tajiri then hit Spike with a devastating kick to the side of the head as he was on his knees. Tajiri then covered Spike for the 1-2-3 to become new champion. Match Time: 28:21 J.R.:"Spike has gotta be out! What a kick"! Heenan:"What a match! What haven't we seen tonight"? Heyman:"Well boys, Tajiri has found out what you get when you're in with Vince"! Michael Cole:"That's right J.R., I arrived moments ago as Travis Wakeman arrived with Trish and I hope to have a report for you soon". A RED HAZE COMES OVER THE ARENA AS DREW BLOOD COMES OUT. J.R.:"We'll certainly keep all our fans posted on Wakeman's condition as Drew Blood is set to defend the European title and he doesn't even know who his opponent is gonna be"! Heyman:"That's his own fault J.R., he's the one who wanted this open contract and now he's got an opponent". J.R.:"We've been told that it's a man who's been out with an injury and the rumor I heard today is that whoever it is is a former European champion"! SUDDENLY, AN ORANGE HAZE BEGINS TO FLASH THRUGHOUT THE ARENA AS THE SOUND OF A FAINT HEARTBEAT IS HEARD AND TAZZ STEPS OUT TO A TREMENDOUS POP. Heyman:"It's Tazz! It's Tazz! I don't believe it"! Heenan:"Does Drew Blood know what he's gotten himself into"? Open Contract/TWF European Title Match Challenger.. Tazz vs. Drew Blood Tazz, who wasn't supposed to return until September due to a pinched nerve in his neck, showed no effects of the injury. He came right into the ring and took the fight to Drew Blood with an erray of suplexes. Tazz had the entire crowd behind him as he locked in the "Tazz-Mission" but the champion struggled to the ropes. Drew Blood then raked Tazz's eyes to get the advantage and tried to slow the tempo down with a reverse chin lock. But Tazz raised up and went straight down with a jawbreaker and followed that with a belly to belly suplex. Drew Blood got up and threw a wild swing which Tazz ducked and quickly slapped on the "Tazz-Mission" again in the center of the ring. Drew Blood had no choice but to tap out. Match Time: 4:24 J.R.:"Tazz has returned in impressive fashion and won European gold"! Heenan:"I thought he was making a mistake coming back so soon but I've changed my mind"! Steve doesn't wanna be bothered right now and quite frankly I don't blame him. So can you take this and slide it under his dressing room door? It's another idea I've come up with". FOOTAGE IS SHOWN FROM SNME ON MAY 5, 2001 WHEN REGAL ATTACKED SNUKA AS SNUKA WAS SCHEDULED TO BE A GUEST ON THE SHOW. "SUPEFLY" JIMMY SNUKA's OLD MUSIC HITS AS THE CROWD COMES TO THEIR FEET. J.R.:"The footage you just saw gives this man extra incentive to win this match". Heyman:"Snuka's a legend, no doubt. But he's about to get a lesson in wrestling courtesy of William Regal"! William Regal vs. "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka Regal controlled the early part of this one with his superb mat style. He took Snuka down and worked extensively on his right arm. Ring rust was evident with Snuka but after catching Regal with a chop as he came off the ropes, Snuka got into a groove. He used a big kneedrop on Regal, followed by a beautiful dropkick. The atmosphere was electric the whole match. After a struggle on the mat, Regal grabbed Snuka around the waist. But Snuka countered with a go behind, locked Regal in a full nelson and used a german suplex into a gorgeous bridge pin. Regal fought but could not kick out as Snuka got the pin. Match Time: 5:14 SNUKA CELEBRATED IN THE RING AS THE CROWD WAS LOVIN' IT UNTIL REGAL CAME FROM BEHIND AND HIT SNUKA WITH A FOREARM IN THE BACK. HE THEN CAME OFF THE ROPES BUT SNUKA CAUGHT HIM WITH A SUPERKICK AND WENT UP TOP. SNUKA LOOKED AROUND THE CROWD AND PUT UP THE SIGN FOR ONE LAST SUPERFLY SPLASH. SNUKA THEN LEAPED AND LANDED ON REGAL WITH THE SPLASH AS THE CROWD CAME UNGLUED. J.R.:"Legends of wrestling one, Vince's alliance sero"! Heyman:"This is ridiculous"! Heenan:"It's been a bad night for the alliance. It's gotta get better soon". BACKSTAGE CAMERAS CATCH UP TO TAJIRI WHO SLIDES THE PIECE OF PAPER VINCE GAVE HIM UNDER A DOOR AND QUICKLY LEAVES. THE CAMERA GOES UP AND THE DOOR READS LINDA McMAHON! Heyman:"What the hell is Tajiri doing"?! "THE KINGS" BY RUN DMC HITS AS JORDAN ROCKWELL COMES OUT WITH LITA. HE HAS A SMALL BANDAGE ON HIS FOREHEAD. Heenan:"Tajiri's an idiot"! J.R.:"It's time to see who's goin' to the King of the Ring finals and this should be a dandy"! THE HARDY BOYZ' MUSIC HITS AS JEFF COMES OUT TO A HUGE POP. Heyman:"Jeff's comin' out alone after his brother Matt suffered a concussion at the hands of Strife"! Heenan:"We still don't know who's gonna replace Matt Hardy in that fatal four way later tonight"! J.R.:"This should be a great match fans. Look for Rockwell to try and end it quickly after his tough match with Edge in the quarterfinals". King of the Ring Semi Finals Jordan Rockwell vs. Jeff Hardy This was a showcase of two of the top young talents in the TWF today. Inspired by his brother's injury, Jeff came out on fire. He hit Rockwell with a nice dropkick and his "Willow in the Whisp" off the top rope. He then caught Rockwell with a twisting sunset flip that drew a 2 count. He whipped Rockwell to the corner and went for "Poetry in Motion" but Rockwell moved. The match belonged to the leader of the New Breed from there. He dropped Jeff with a stuff piledriver and then went to submission wrestling. He worked on all parts of Jeff's body but mainly his arm. He took Jeff's right arm and wrapped it around the steel post. He beat on Jeff's arm for most of the match until Jeff caught him with a spin kick that rocked him back. But Jeff tried to follow up with and Rockwell countered by grabbing his right arm and spinning it backwards very rpaidly into a standing armbar. Jeff tried hard to fight through it but tapped out in anguish. Match Time: 4:41 Heenan:"Rockwell has advanced to the finals"! J.R.:"Both the men in this matchup got here on somewhat unfair circumstances but nonetheless, one of them could become King of the Ring". "AMERICAN BADASS" BY KID ROCK HITS AS NUKE COMES OUT. Heyman:"You've gotta wonder if Nuke knew anything about that man in black". J.R.:"By the look on his face when that hammer dropped, I'd have to say he didn't". King of the Ring Semi Finals King Killer vs. Nuke Two of the biggest and baddest men in the TWF slugged it out in a tough fight. Nuke controlled the match early as he hit Killer with a clothesline and a big sambo suplex. He then used a blatant choke and was threatened with a DQ by referee Teddy Long. Suddenly, King Killer got back into it. He went after Nuke's legs in an attempt to take away his vertical base. He tried to suplex Nuke but Nuke blocked it and countered with a suplex of his own. Nuke then dropped a big leg on him to get a 2 and half count. Nuke got 5 more near falls but he couldn't put the demented Confederation member away. The two men then began to trade punches until King Killer finally knocked Nuke down. But when he came bouncing off the ropes, Nuke stuck his size 22 in his face. He then squashed him with a 747 splash and got the pin. Match Time: 13:07 J.R.:"And just like that, Nuke is in the finals"! Heyman:"He's gonna be tough to beat". BACKSTAGE.... Gene Okerlund:"Mrs. McMahon, I understand you have something to say". Linda:(She's holding the piece of paper Vince gave Tajiri)"Well it seems I've come upon a documented plan of my husband's to keep the title around Steve Austin's waist tonight. Well hear this Vince, if you or anyone else from the alliance interferes in tonight's main event, Austin will be stripped of the title immediately! And not only that, I've appointed four special enforcers to help keep them away from the ring. Why, they're sitting in the front row". CAMERAS AGAIN SHOW THE 4 LEGENDS IN THE FRONT ROW. Okerlund:"There ya have it, back to you guys". Heyman:"What?! This is all Tajiri's fault"! Heenan:"I just thought of something. When Tajiri went to Vince's office, he didn't have his translator with him. Maybe he misunderstood Vince". Heyman:"Ya knw, that might be right". Heenan:"That's why they call me the Brain"! J.R.:"In any event, Arn Anderson, Ivan Putski, Ricky Steamboat and Terry Funk have been appointed special enforcers for the TWF title match"! FOOTAGE OF JAKE ROBERT's RETIREMENT SPEECH A FEW WEEKS AGO IS SHOWN AS KANE's MUSIC HITS WITH A BANG. Heenan:"It was Jake Roberts' quitting of the TWF that opened the door for these four men. Roberts always was a quitter"! J.R.:"He wasn't a quitter, he just made a bad decision somewhere along the line. But he handled it like a man and hell, he had the Intercontinental title for over four months"! CHRIS BENOIT's MUSIC HITS AS FOOTAGE IS SHOWN FROM EARLIER WHEN MATT HARDY WAS HIT WITH THE "WRONG DESTINATION" BY STRIFE ON A STEEL CHAIR, CAUSING A SLIGHT CONCUSSION. Heenan:"We still don't know who Matt Hardy's replacement is"! VAL VENIS' MUSIC HITS. Heyman:"The other men had to qualify for this match in a battle royale but this man earned the spot and I feel he will win it". AS HOWARD FINKEL ANNOUNCES THE REPLACEMENT, "WHATEVER" BY GODSMACK HITS AS BAHAMUT COMES OUT TO A GREAT RESPONSE. J.R.:"Bahamut's the replacement! What an oppurtunity for this guy"! Heyman:"But is he at one hundred percent after that no holds barred match on Free 4 All"? Fatal 4 Way Elimination/Vacant TWF Intercontinental Title Match 4 very determined superstars waged war here for the IC title. Early in the match, Kane paired off against Benoit while Bahamut got the best of Val Venis. There were several near falls and it took almost 11 minutes for an elimination to occur. Kane and Bahamut seemed to be a cohesive unti as they hit Benoit with a double powerbomb and Kane pinned him. Venis then scored with a running knee lift on Bahamut but he turned around right into a double lift chokehold by Kane and quickly tapped out. To add insult to injury, Venis was then chokeslammed by Kane. Bahamut came from behind and nailed Kane in the back. But Kane turned and wrapped his hand around Bahamut's throat and delivered a chokeslam. Kane hooked Bahamut's leg and got the pin and then was awarded the title. Match Time: 15:26 J.R.:"The big red machine is the new Intercontinental champion"! Heenan:"He put all three of them out"! Heyman:"Think about this, how ironic is it that Strife taking out Matt Hardy gave Bahamut this oppurtunity"? BACK AT THE HOSPITAL CAMERAS HAVE ENTERED WAKEMAN's ROOM. HE IS LYING ON A BED WEARING A PROTECTIVE MASK. TRISH IS IN A CHAIR NEXT TO THE BED. Wakeman:"Who was it Trish, who did this"? Trish:"I don't know, I didn't see him that well. Just get some rest, we'll find him later. I won't leave for a second". KURT ANGLE's MUSIC HITS J.R.:"We're back folks and we're ready for another of Linda's big matches". Heenan:"We're just as puzzled as Wakeman is as to who that man was". TATANKA's OLD MUSIC HITS AS HE COMES OUT TO THE BEST OVATION SO FAR. Heyman:"It's gonna be the Olympic hero against the Native American and don't forget, this guy has signed a long term TWF contract with Linda McMahon". Kurt Angle vs. Tatanka Tatanka was on the warpath right away and he reminded everybody how good he is. He hit Angle with chops to the head and a cross body block early. Every attempt Angle made to get back in it was thwarted by Tatanka who was riding as emotional tidal wave. He caught Kurt with a samoan drop and took him to the corner where his chops echoed through the arena. Angle tried to use a belly to belly suplex but Tatanka blocked it with a knee to the midsection. Angle's last ditch effort was a thumb to the eyes which stunned Tatanka. Angle then tried a clothesline but Tatanka ducked and used a backdrop suplex into a bridge pin for the 1-2-3. Match Time: 4:21 Heyman:"Ahh! This can't be happening"! Heenan:"Tatanka just came in here and trampled the 1996 gold medal winner"! J.R.:"For those of you keepin' score at home, the alliance ain't doin' too good:"! BACKSTAGE TAJIRI IS WALKING BACKSTAGE WITH A HUGE SMILE ON HIS FACE WHEN HE IS CONFRONTED BY STEVE AUSTIN. Austin:"What the hell you doin' man? You ruined everything"! Tajiri:(says something in Japanese) Austin:"Huh"? Tajiri:(again says something in Japanese) A FRUSTRATED AUSTIN HITS TAJIRI AND THROWS HIM INTO THE WALL. HE THEN STOMPS HIM SEVERAL TIMES AND WALKS AWAY. J.R.:"What a tough champion"! FOOTAGE IS SHOWN OF WHAT's LED TO THE BROTHER VERSUS BROTHER MATCH. CHRIS MICHAELS' MUSIC THEN HITS. Heyman:"Here we go. This man's been held down his entire life because of his brother. This is his night to shine"! Heenan:"I'd love to see him upstage his brother". "SEXY BOY" HITS AS SHAWN MICHAELS COMES OUT TO AN AWESOME OVATION. J.R.:"Well I've been watchin' this guy perform for many years and I'll tell ya what, they don't come any better"! Chris Michaels vs. Shawn Michaels This was a pretty basic match as both men did their homework and new each other's style well. Chris Michaels did surprise his brother with his quick feet as he did damage all match with several kicks. But with the crowd behind him, HBK slowly started to take the match over and show his brother the resilience he is known for. After a drop toe hold, HBK hit Chris with a back elbow and then put him down with a body sam. But Chris used a quick small package to score a 2 count. The brothers both struggled to hit any big moves until the turning point of the match. Chris whipped Shawn to the corner and charged in but HBK moved and he went into the turnpost shoulder first. Shawn then went up top and came off with a perfect flying body splash. He then went to the far coner and stomped as the fans rose. Chris slowly got to his feet and was dropped with the "Sweet Chin Music" and subsequently pinned. Match Time: 6:41 Heyman:"Chris still won't be able to step out of his brother's shadow". J.R.:"Well it was a valiant effort but it's a huge shadow Paul, almost an eclipse". BACKSTAGE.... TRIPLE H AND STEPHANIE COME OUT OF VINCE's OFFICE. "AMERICAN BADASS" BY KID ROCK HITS AS NUKE HEADS TO THE RING. J.R.:"What's goin' on back there"? Heenan:"What do ya mean what's goin' om? They're probably discussing strategy. In case you didn't know, they have a big tag match tonight, not to mention they're family". Heyman:"Get used to it Bobby, J.R. always assumes the worst"! "THE KINGS" BY RUN DMC HITS AS JORDAN ROCKWELL AND LITA HEAD TO THE RING. J.R.:"These two men are gonna compete in their third match tonight for the right to be called King"! Heyman:"And what a stepping stone this will be for one of these men! It can open so many other oppurtunities to get this win"! King of the Ring Final Jordan Rockwell vs. Nuke Rockwell started things off with a bang, hitting Nuke with a spear. He showed no fear of the much larger man. He backed Nuke into the corner and hit him with several right punches and a sidekick. But Nuke retaliated with a hard headbutt. Rockwell wiped his brow and checked his hand and realized he was bleeding. Several stomps to the head opened the cut more as blood began to flow freely, weakiening Rockwell. Rockwell decided not to wear the bandage over the cut he received in his quarterfinal match; telling officials it caused vision problems in his semi final match. It was the same cut and Nuke made it worse once exposed. Nuke hammered away on Rockwell's back but Rockwell took shots at Nuke when he saw openings. After blocking a right hand, Rockwell answered with one of his own. He then came off the ropes but Nuke grabbed him and dropped him with a sidewalk slam. He then called for the "Atom Bomb" and slammed Rockwell to the mat with it for the 1-2-3. Match Time:5:11 Heyman:"Nuke has just won King of the Ring"! J.R.:"Very impressive performance by both men as they were the last two of a very good field". Heenan:"Think of what this will do for Nuke's career"! BACKSTAGE.... THE ACOLYTES ARE IN THEIR DRESSING ROOM DRINKING BEERS, PUFFIN' ON CIGARS AND PLAYING CARDS WHEN THE DOOR GETS KICKED OPEN. RHYNO AND STEVE CORINO COME IN. Faarooq:"What the hell is this"? Corino:"Looks like you boys held onto your titles tonight. Well Rhyno and I think we're next in line for a shot"! Faarooq:"Oh ya do huh"? Bradshaw:"Tell ya what boys, let us think that over during this card game. We'll let you know". Corino:"I don't think you understood. We want an answer now"! FAAROOQ AND BRADSHAW LOOK AT EACT OTHER. Faarooq:"Okay here it is". FAAROOQ PUNCHES RHYNO AND SLAMS HIM INTO THE WALL AS BRADSHAW KICKS CORINO IN THE STOMACH AND POWERBOMBS HIM THROUGH THE CARD TABLE. "NO CHANCE" HITS AS VINCE McMAHON STEPS OUT TO A SHOWER OF BOOS. Heyman:"Was that a yes from the Acolytes"? Heenan:"Who knows, I think Corino and Rhyno are barkin' up the wrong tree there". "THE GAME" BY MOTORHEAD HITS AS TRIPLE H COMES OUT WITH STEPHANIE. J.R.:"We're ready for a huge tag match here as the owner of this company and his son in law are gonna take on two of the best ever"! JESSE VENTURA's OLD MUSIC HITS AND HE GETS A GREAT RESPONSE. Heenan:"Here comes the Body! (sarcastiaclly) Boy I bet he's makin' every politician real proud tonight"! VENTURA IS WEARING A BASKETBALL JERSEY AND PANTS WHICH ARE MINNESOTA VIKING COLORS. MR. PERFECT's OLD SONG HITS AS THE CROWD GIVES HIM A TERRIFIC OVATION. Heyman:"I used to like this guy but the alliance needs to win this match. Don't forget about the wild card at ringside, the billion dolar princess"! Triple H and Vince McMahon vs. Mr. Perfect and Jesse "The Body" Ventura This turned out to be better than expected as these 4 men pounded the hell out of each other. Vince was afraid to lock up with Ventura so Triple H and Perfect started things off and Perfect proved he can still go. He was with Triple H move for move and the 2 had a great series. Soon, all 4 men were in the ring as Ventura took Vince down to the crowd's delight. Perfect and Triple H took it outside the ring where Helmsley suplexed him and hit him with the ring bell. Later in the match, Ventura, who had spent significant time in the ring with Perfect recuperating, began to take it to Triple H. He put him in a Navy Seal restraining hold and Helmsley very nearly gave it up. But Vince helped him find the ropes. Ventura then pulled Vince into the ring and went and tagged in Perfect. Perfect hit Triple H with a snap mare into a flip over neckbreaker followed by a standing dropkick. He then sent Helmsley into the ropes but made the cardinal mistake of putting his head down too early as Helmsley capitalized with a facebuster on his knee. A groggy Perfect then got kicked in the midsection and dropped with the Pedigree. Ventura was beating the hell out of Vince outside the ring and didn't see what was going on inside the ring as Triple H pinned Perfect. Match Time: 26:58 Heyman:"The alliance has beaten the Minnesota boys and they can even things up with a win in the main event"! Heenan:"They needed that one"! PERFECT AND VENTURA WALK DOWN THE AISLE AS THE CROWD GIVES THEM A STANDING OVATION. J.R.:"Fans here are very appreciative of the performance those two men just gave. Great job guys"! BACKSTAGE.... NUKE's DRESSING ROOM.... Gene Okerlund:"Nuke, mind if I have a word with you"? Nuke:"That's King Nuke now". Okerlund:"Okay, King Nuke, first off, congratulations on becoming the 2001 King of the Ring! However, many questions surround your quarterfinal win over Travis Wakeman where a masked man lowered a weapon to you which you used to beat him". Nuke:"I don't know nor do I care who it was. Wakeman must've pissed someone off. But I am the 2001 King of the Ring and this company can no longer hold me down. I've put my name in the TWF history books and I want the respect I desever now! Now get outta here"! OKERLUND QUICKLY LEAVES Heenan:"I don't blame Nuke a bit for his anger towards the TWF! He's been held down and passed over for other guys since he got here"! FOOTAGE OF THE 1997 SURVIVOR SERIES IN MONTREAL IS SHOWN. "STONE COLD" STEVE AUSTIN's MUSIC HITS. THE 4 ENFORCERS IN THE FRONT ROW AGAIN ARE SHOWN. J.R.:"It's time for the biggest prize in our industry and Linda McMahon has made sure that we're gonna see who the better man is"! Heyman:"Come on Steve, you can't imagine what's riding on this match"! BRET HART's OLD MUSIC HITS AS EVERYONE COMES TO THEIR FEET. EASILY THE LOUDEST OVATION OF THE NIGHT. Heenan:"I can't believe this guy's really here"! J.R.:"Some thought he was done with this business but Bret Hart's out to prove something tonight"! TWF Title Match Challenger... Bret "Hitman" Hart vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin The match started with a lot of basic wrestling holds, which favored Hart. The Hitman used his "Excellence of Execution" style to break Austin down. He hit him with a side backbreaker and then put him in the figure 4 followed by an armbar. But when he went for a russian leg sweep, Austin elbowed him in the side of the head. Austin then hit Hart with the Thesz Press followed by his unorthodox elbow drop. Because Earl Hebner was no where to be found before the match, Teddy Long was the referee. Hart was taking a beating from Austin when he suddenly rolled Austin up with a small package but Long used a super slow count. Austin then charged Hart but Bret up ended him and stepped through with the Sharpshooter. Austin was tappin' out clear as day but Long acted like there was something in his eye. Hitman got up and grabbed Long, yelling at him when Austin came from behind with a steel chair and cracked the Hitman with it. Long did nothing as Austin delivered the Stunner and got the 1-2-3! Match Time: 12:40 J.R.:"What in the hell has just happened? Austin is leaving with the title"! Heyman:"Yes! Teddy Long, you're a national hero"! Heenan:"I don't understand! What is going on"? Teddy Long:Do I get Stephanie now"? Triple H:"Hell no you don't get Stephanie"! TRIPLE H PUNCHES LONG AND RAMS HIS HEAD INTO THE DOOR. Heenan:"Oh, I get it"! Heyman:"This is brilliant"!
