TWO VEHICLES ARE SHOWN ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF SOME SORT OF ARENA. THOUSANDS OF FANS ARE CHEERING AND SCREAMING AS EACH CAR, A RED ONE AND A BLUE ONE, REV THEIR ENGINES. ONE MAN SHOVES A HOG DOG INTO HIS MOUTH BEFORE YELLING SOMETHING THAT COULD NOT BE DECIPHERED. THE CARS THEN TAKE OFF, HEADED RIGHT AT EACH OTHER. Audio Voiceover: "Tonight...... three men will battle for superiority.......... IMAGES OF JOE COREY, EDGE AND JOHN CENA ARE SHOWN. BACK INSIDE THE ARENA, A BUZZER SOUNDS OFF PERIODICALLY AND A DOOR OPENS, ALLOWING ANOTHER VEHICLE TO ENTER THE FRAY IN WHAT SEEMS LIKE A DANGEROUS DEMOLITION DERBY. Voiceover: "Tonight, another man looks to further his claim of being at the top of his particular line of work...... NOW, CARS ARE RACING AT EACH OTHER AT A FURIOUS PACE, SLAMMING INTO ONE ANOTHER WITH NO RELENT. Voiceover: "And tonight...... thirty men are in pursuit of one common goal. THE CAR IS DENTED UP PRETTY BADLY AND THE HOOD IS BILLOWING SMOKE. THE YELLOW CAR THEN DRIVES TO A SPOTLIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE ARENA AND PARKS. THAT SPOTLIGHT CONTAINS THE WRESTLEMANIA 10 LOGO. THE ENTIRE CROWD IS ON IT's FEET, CHEERING AND APPLAUDING. Voiceover: "And now...... TWF Entertainment presents..................
"BOOM.......BOOM......BOOM"! THE SHOT OPENS INSIDE THE SPORTS ARENA IN SAN DIEGO AND THERE ARE FANS LINED UP IN THE STANDS, SCREAMING, YELLING AND DOING WHATEVER THEY CAN TO GET ON CAMERA. SEVERAL "619" SIGNS ARE SPOTTED AS IS ONE SAYING "ORTON TRULY IS THE BEST, BAR NONE". MICHAEL COLE AND THE HONKY TONK MAN ARE SHOWN SEATED AT THE PRIMETIME BROADCAST POSITION, TRYING HARD TO TALK OVER THE NOISE. Michael Cole: "There is a big fight feel here in San Diego and over fifteen thousand TWF fans have come out to join us"! Honky Tonk Man: "And let's not forget all the millions of people watching around the world, Cole"! Cole: "Tonight, the Universal title will be defended in a huge triple threat match and let's not downplay the thirty man Royal Rumble! Someone's gonna get a ticket punched to WrestleMania! Let's send it over to our broadcast colleagues from Rampage.... J.R. and the King"! JIM ROSS AND JERRY LAWLER ARE SHOWN SEATED NEXT TO COLE AND HONKY TONK MAN AND JUST THEN, "BLACK" BY SEVENDUST COMES ON AND SEBASTIAN CAIN COMES OUT TO A PRETTY STRONG RESPONSE. Jim Ross: "Well you mentioned the Universal title match, the World title will also be defended tonight but first, we've got a title match right now"! Jerry Lawler: "That's right, it's the King of Cable title and here comes the challenger"! J.R.: "Well ya gotta feel for this guy. When Sebastian Cain surfaced here in the TWF, he was a young, impressionable rookie and unfortunately for him, he hooked up with Sean O'Haire who used him and then aired some very private and personal family information". "COME ON" BY WATERPROOF BLONDE PLAYS AND BOOS FILL THE SPORTS ARENA FOR THE FIRST TIME AS SEAN O'HAIRE MAKES HIS WAY TO THE RING WEARING A LONG BLACK TRENCH COAT AND THE KING OF CABLE TITLE AROUND HIS WAIST. Lawler: "Well let's not forget that no one forced Cain to socialize with O'Haire.... that was all his choice". J.R.: "And let's not forget that while he may be a pretty lousy human being, Sean O'Haire is as talented as anyone on the TWF roster". TWF King of Cable Title Match Challenger: Sebastian Cain vs. Sean O'Haire As the bell sounded, Cain stood patiently across the ring, waiting for O'Haire to hand over the title belt. But after removing his trench coat, O'Haire threw it in the face of the challenger, allowing him to move in with some quick right hands to the head before delivering a heavy kneelift. O'Haire hit a double underhook suplex and was in total control. After landing a big elbow drop, O'Haire pulled Cain up by his hair, badmouthing him as he did. But Cain began to fight back, landing 2 quick punches before pushing O'Haire away. But as he began to get up, O'Haire ran in and kicked Cain right square in the chest. He then got him up and whipped him to the ropes but he missed with a clothesline and Cain came off the other side with a back elbow. After a quick legdrop, Cain went for the cover but O'Haire was up at 1. Cain got him up and shot him to the corner, slowly moving in before lifting him up and dropping him on the top ring rope for a slingshot suplex. Cain made another cover, and got a 2 count this time. After scooping the champion up and slamming him to the mat, Cain went to the top rope, waiting for O'Haire to get up. When he did, he flew off with a clothesline, but O'Haire instead caught him coming with a spin kick right in the mouth. Cain crumpled to the mat and O'Haire topped him, hooking the inside leg to get 1...........2..........., but Cain was up. This sent a charge into the crowd, who began to rally behind the challenger. O'Haire kept the pressure on and after an irish whip, he dropped to one knee and caught him with a backhand to the abdomen. O'Haire then tried to deliver a neckbreaker drop but Cain got in an elbow to the kidney area before spinning O'Haire around. Cain went for a clothesline but missed and O'Haire was able to get him up on his shoulders for the "Widowmaker". Somehow, Cain slipped free and landed on his feet. O'Haire tried to come back with a spinning roundhouse kick, but Cain was alert enough to avoid that as well before grabbing him in some sort of 3 quarter nelson and driving him into the mat with a suplex. The fans rose to their feet as Cain rolled atop O'Haire and hooked a leg as referee Scott Martin issued the 1...............2...............3! Match Time: 9:26 J.R.: "He did it! We have a new champion"! Lawler: "Can you believe that move?! I've never seen anything like that before"! MARTIN HANDED CAIN THE BELT AND HE RAISED IT UP IN HIS RIGHT HAND AS "BLACK" AGAIN PLAYED. J.R.: "He calls that the Mark of Cain and what a moment this has to be for Cain! Not only is he the new King of Cable, but he was able to gain a little revenge on O'Haire who drug his family name through the dirt"! CAIN LEFT THE RING, LOOKING BACK AT O'HAIRE WHO LOOKED UP FROM THE MAT, INTENSELY MAD. Lawler: "I have to say I'm shocked! Sebastian Cain was in there with one of the most successful champions in TWF history and he's come out victorious"! J.R.: "What a huge step in the maturation process for this young man! Now, let's switch gears a little bit here and send it over to the room where all thirty superstars in tonight's Royal Rumble will be selecting their numbers"! ROYAL RUMBLE DRAWING ROOM CAMERAS ARE INSIDE THE DRAWING ROOM WHERE SHANE McMAHON HAS THE ASSISTANCE OF BOTH KELLY AND TALIA, WHO ARE DRESSED IN VERY SKIMPY SHORT, BLACK DRESSES. Shane McMahon: "You girls ready? Here comes our first superstar"! KELLY BEGINS TO SPIN A LARGE GOLD TUMBLER, CONTAINING THIRTY NUMBERS INSIDE PLASTIC BUBBLES WHEN MR. KENNEDY WALKS IN. Shane McMahon: "Look at this..... it's last year's winner! Get in there, Kennedy, you got the first pick". KENNEDY STEPS UP AND STICKS HIS HAND INSIDE THE TUMBLER, PULLING OUT A NUMBER. HE OPENS IT AND TAKES A LOOK BEFORE WALKING OUT. Shane: "Good luck". THE SHOT GOES BACK TO RINGSIDE AND MICHAEL COLE AND THE HONKY TONK MAN ARE SHOWN AGAIN. Cole: "We will be keeping tabs on that drawing room as much as we can tonight. We all remember when Mr. Kennedy won the Royal Rumble last year, partner, I don't know if it matters what number he has". "SOMEBODY's GONNA GET IT" BY THREE SIX MAFIA STARTS UP AND MARK HENRY COMES OUT TO MOSTLY ALL BOOS. HTM: "Oh it matters.... if he drew number one, I'll bet anything I own that he doesn't win it again". Cole: "The 2009 Royal Rumble is already off to a huge start as we've seen Sebastian Cain become the new TWF King of Cable and right now, we're ready for a match inside a tournament that has been set up to determine a new number one contender for the Intercontinental title, currently held by Jordan Rockwell". HTM: "Yes, this is a first round match and we've already seen Blade defeat Finlay in this tournament and tonight, my money is on the World's Strongest Man". THE CROWD LOUDLY POPS WHEN "LIVE FOR THE MOMENT" BY MONSTER MAGNET COMES ON AND MATT HARDY STEPS OUT TO ONE OF THE BETTER CHEERS OF THE EVENING. Cole: "Well his opponent, Matt Hardy, is used to being counted out, so I don't think he'll mind that prediction at all"! HTM: "Hey, nothing against Matt Hardy, but he is up against nearly four hundred pounds of sheer mass and muscle"! Cole: "Mark Henry is a former Intercontinental champion and you know he'd love to get another match with Jordan Rockwell. But first, he's got Matt Hardy standing in his way". #1 Contender for Intercontinental Title Tournament- 1st Round Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy The bell sounded to get things under way and in no surprise, Matt Hardy clearly wanted to avoid Henry and use his speed to his advantage. Henry moved in but Hardy circled away, looking for a spot to attack. Henry was able to move in on him using his size but Matt ducked a clubbing forearm and tagged Henry with 2 quick right jabs. After a low kick, Matt ran the ropes and ducked a clothesline before coming off the other side and going for a crossbody. Henry was able to catch him but Matt swung around into a beautiful DDT. Hardy went for a quick cover but Henry pushed him off before a 2 count. Henry got to his feet and backed into the corner, trying to shake off the effects of Matt's quick start. But Matt flew in with a clothesline attempt, only to see Henry move out of the way and his legs went through the top and middle ring ropes in the corner and he became stuck in there. Henry then moved in and pounded Matt across the chest with both hands in a downward motion, knocking him into an awkward tree of woe. Henry then just used his sheer strength to push Matt's body in a very awkward position, using all of referee Charles Robinson's count. Henry then pulled Matt out of the corner and the back of his head slammed hard against the mat. Henry tried to follow up with a big elbow drop but Matt got out of the way, reviving the crowd. Matt then busted Henry with 3 more right hands before running the ropes and delivering a clothesline. A second clothesline got the big man teetering and Matt went to the top rope, flying off with a double axe handle. But Henry was able to catch Matt in mid air and he had him in an airtight bear hug! Matt fought with all he could but the tree trunk-like arms of Henry squeezed everything he had out. Hardy tried to stay in it, but Robinson feared for his safety after his arm dropped lifelessly on the first attempt and he called for the bell to stop the match. Match Time: 4:31 HENRY DROPPED HARDY TO THE MAT AS "SOMEBODY's GONNA GET IT" PLAYED AGAIN. Cole: "Well I think that's a smart move by the referee. Matt Hardy was clearly in trouble there". HTM: "I told ya, the strength of this man is just too much! It's overwhelming"! HENRY WALKED UP THE RAMP TO A LOT OF BOOS BUT HE HAD A VERY CONFIDENT AND SATISFIED LOOK ABOUT HIM. Cole: "Hardy gave it all he had, but he got stuck in that vise grip of Henry's and there is just no way out of that"! BACKSTAGE AREA....... CAMERAS IN THE BACK SHOW EDDIE SAINT JAMES AND MONICA MAKING THEIR WAY DOWN THE HALL, HAVING A CONVERSATION WHEN GINA CARANO COMES UP. Monica: "Can I help you"? Gina Carano: "Oh, we've never met, but I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Gina.... from PrimeTime". CARANO EXTENDS HER HAND BUT EDDIE SAINT JAMES STEPS IN THE WAY. Eddie Saint James: "Yeah, we know who you are. You're that girl who is trying to be as good in our sport as you were in MMA. Fact is.... Monica and I don't care. In case you didn't know, she has a big match against Beth Phoenix tonight and when she wins, she'll be one step closer to being what we've always known she was............. the best diva in the TWF". THE SAINT PUTS HIS ARM AROUND MONICA AND THEY BRUSH PAST CARANO AS THE SHOT CHANGES TO THE DRAWING ROOM. ROYAL RUMBLE DRAWING ROOM CM PUNK HAS JUST SELECTED HIS NUMBER AND HE EXITS THE DRAWING ROOM, ONLY TO RUN INTO PJ CASH. CM Punk: "Oh, you gonna go get your number"? PJ Cash: "Very funny..... how much of a joke is it that I'm not a part of the Royal Rumble? I learned how to make millions before I was twenty-one, yet this company can't be smart enough to include me in one of the biggest matches of the year"? CM Punk: "Heh...... look, if this is some kind of weird way of asking for my advice, I get my oppurtunities because I don't drink, I don't do drugs.... and I certainly don't care about how much money I make. I'm here for the competition..... that's it. Maybe you should just try a different approach". PUNK WALKS AWAY WITH A GRIN ON HIS FACE. PJ Cash: (to himself) "Oh, I'll do somethin' alright....... just wait........... "THOUGHTLESS" BY EVANESCENCE PLAYS AS THE SHOT GOES BACK TO RINGSIDE AND MONICA COMES OUT ALONG WITH EDDIE SAINT JAMES. SHE IS WEARING A T-SHIRT THAT SAYS "CULT OF XXXTC" ON IT. J.R.: "We are ready for more action in the ring as the participants for tonight's Royal Rumble continue to make their selections in the back. Folks, I don't know if we've ever seen a no holds barred match involving divas, but these two are ready to get it on"! Lawler: "And look at this.... Monica's not coming out here alone"! BETH PHOENIX's MUSIC PLAYS AND SHE IS WELCOMED BY MOSTLY BOOS AS SHE HEADS TO THE RING. J.R.: "I hope these ladies are ready to pay the price because anything goes in this one! A chokehold is as legal as a wristlock"! Lawler: "And I expect them to both go after anything that's not nailed down"! No Holds Barred Monica w/ Eddie Saint James vs. Beth Phoenix Right as Beth entered the ring, Monica attacked her and was all over her. Referee Jack Doan was assigned this one and he had his hands full. But the two ladies were pulling hair and throwing open handed slaps, they were slinging right hands and heavy haymakers. Beth was staggered after the pre-bell attack by Monica which gave her an early advantage. As Eddie Saint James shouted out instructions from the floor, Monica took the fight to the Glamazon, using the middle and bottom ring ropes to choke her. Beth got to her feet and Monica kicked her in the midsection before pushing her into the corner. She then used her right shoulder to drive into the abdomen of Phoenix. After a stiff knifedge chop, Monica began to remove one of the turnbuckle pads. Doan stepped in to try and stop her but she shoved him out of the way and went back to the turnbuckle. Beth turned around and clocked Monica with a hard right forearm before delivering a vertical suplex. After a big elbow drop, Beth went to the floor and grabbed a steel chair but The Saint game from behind and grabbed it out of her hands. Beth shoved The Saint but Monica came out of nowhere, diving through the ring ropes right onto Beth! She then got her up and slammed her head first into the Rampage announce table, giving J.R. and The King a closer view. Monica then got up on the apron, ready to fly again. She jumped off but Beth moved out of the way and she landed on the table hard. Beth then booted Monica in the side of the head, knocking her to the floor. From there, Beth grabbed the chair she had earlier and slid it into the ring. Beth got back in but Saint James got on the apron, yelling at her. Beth grabbed the chair and turned around, bashing The Saint over the head and knocking him to the floor! But in the midst of that, Monica had gotten back in the ring and when Beth turned around, still holding the chair, Monica superkicked the chair right into her face! Monica then went to the top rope and flew off with an absolutely stunning 360 splash! She had the pin on Beth and hooked the leg to get the win! Match Time: 8:10 J.R.: "My gosh.... did you see that"?! Lawler: "I can't believe it! Monica has won it"! "THOUGHTLESS" PLAYED AGAIN AS THE SAINT AND MONICA WENT UP THE RAMP, THE SAINT HOLDING HIS HEAD WHERE HE WAS STRUCK BY THE CHAIR. BETH WAS STILL DOWN IN THE RING. J.R.: "It did take a little assist from Eddie Saint James, but Monica has proven to the Glamazon that she is hardcore"! Lawler: "Wow..... that was fun"! BACKSTAGE........ IN THE BACK, JASON OLIVER IS SHOWN STANDING BY WITH TODD GRISHAM. Todd Grisham: "Jason Oliver, later tonight, you will face the current Rampage General Manager Rowdy Roddy Piper. However, there has been rumors floating around of you using this match to get something you are looking for. Can you possibly tell the fans out there what that might be"? Jason Oliver: "What is this, the Jon Stewart show? Give me a break, no one has any right to know what I want or am looking for. But I will say this...... tonight...... Piper is gonna get hurt". OLIVER PUSHES THE MICROPHONE BACK TO GRISHAM AND WALKS AWAY. BACK AT RINGSIDE, A GRAPHIC DISPLAYING THE LIGHTHEAVYWEIGHT TITLE IS SHOWN AS KENNY DOANE's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT TO NOTHING BUT BOOS. Cole: "Well, partner, we've already seen one title change hands here tonight at the Royal Rumble". HTM: "And now another title is on the line"! Cole: "This match was added just before the Royal Rumble went live tonight but you know Kenny Doane is ready for the oppurtunity". THE FANS COME TO THEIR FEET IN APPLAUSE WHEN EVAN BOURNE's MUSIC HITS. HE COMES OUT WITH THE TWF LIGHTHEAVYWEIGHT TITLE STRAPPED TO HIS WAIST. HTM: "Well he is a former Lightheavyweight champion and I really want to see this Evan Bourne get tested. I still think he's too small to make much of an impact and he got lucky against Gregory Helms"! Cole: (sarcastically) "Well you heard it straight from the Honky Tonk Man..... Evan Bourne is a fluke". TWF Lightheavyweight Title Match Challenger: Kenny Doane vs. Evan Bourne Bourne took the belt off from around his waist and handed it to referee Mickey Henson, who gave Doane a quick glance at it. But before Bourne could react, Doane attacked him, throwing furious rights and lefts and mixing in a couple kicks. Bourne could barely defend himself as Doane pulled him in to a short-armed clothesline. He then ran the ropes and got way up for a legdrop but Bourne was able to roll out of the way. Bourne then got up and kicked the back of Doane's legs before springing into a spin kick to the chest. After a standing moonsault, Bourne made the cover but Doane pushed out at 2. Bourne tried to stay on the attack but as Doane backed into the corner, he kicked an oncoming Bourne square in the gut. After popping him with some hard right hands, he grabbed the smaller champion and shot him into the corner with authority. Bourne hit the turnbuckle and fell face first to the mat. After a big vertical suplex, Doane went to the top rope and flew off with his legdrop, getting very high in the air. But Bourne again avoided him, rolling out of the way. Bourne got up and delivered a basement dropkick before going to the top rope himself. Doane got to his feet but Bourne came off with a missile dropkick that caught him flush in the jaw. Bourne scrambled into a cover but Doane kicked out after a long 2 count. Bourne got the challenger to his feet and went for an irish whip, but Doane was able to reverse it. He went for a crossbody block but Bourne was thinking the same thing and they collided in mid air, Bourne getting the worst of it. Doane slowly got to his feet but pulled Henson over with him. As he did, Super Crazy curiously made an appearance, heading to the ring. Bourne got up using the ring ropes but Crazy got up on the apron, pulling Bourne backwards across the top rope. Doane then got in position and hit a rolling neckbreaker that he calls the "Doane-nation", right into the cover and Henson dropped to count the 3 and crown a new champion! Match Time: 7:08 Cole: "What the hell was that"?! HTM: "It looks to me like we have a new champion! I said it all along.... this guy is a fluke"! DOANE's MUSIC PLAYED AGAIN AND HENSON HANDED HIM THE LIGHTHEAVYWEIGHT TITLE AND HE LEFT THE RING BEFORE SLAPPING HANDS WITH SUPER CRAZY. THE CROWD, MOSTLY STUNNED, DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK. Cole: "Oh don't pretend you didn't see that! What the hell is Super Crazy doing out here"?! HTM: "Who knows, maybe he felt the same way I do about Evan Bourne and he wanted to prove it"! BOURNE SLOWLY GOT TO HIS FEET, LOOKING AT THE COMBO OF DOANE AND SUPER CRAZY HEADING UP THE RAMP WHILE HOLDING THE BACK OF HIS HEAD. Cole: "Yeah, great way to prove a point..... cheat and cost a man his title"! ROYAL RUMBLE DRAWING ROOM TALIA, KELLY AND SHANE McMAHON LOOK ON AS SYLVESTER TERKAY HAS JUST DRAWN HIS NUMBER. AT THAT MOMENT, MELINA ENTERS THE ROOM AND GIVES THE MANBEAR A VERY EVIL EYE BEFORE HE LEAVES THE ROOM. Shane McMahon: "Melina..... something I can help you with"? Melina: "Well, I'm here to pick a number for Travis". Kelly: "He's letting you draw for him"? Melina: "Yeah.... got a problem with that"? KELLY STEPS BACK A BIT, SURPRISED BY MELINA's SNAPPING AT HER. Shane McMahon: "Okay, go ahead..... but I'd make it a good one or.......... MELINA LOOKS AT SHANE BEFORE PUTTING HER HAND IN THE TUMBLER. Shane McMahon: "Easy..... it was just a joke". MELINA LEAVES THE ROOM, NEVER LOOKING AT THE NUMBER SHE PICKED. THE SHOT IS SENT BACK TO THE RING WHERE "FLY FROM THE INSIDE" BY SHINEDOWN COMES ON AND JASON OLIVER MAKES HIS WAY TO THE RING ALONG WITH CODY RHODES AND TED DIBIASE. Lawler: "What do ya think, did Melina have the luck of the draw, J.R."? J.R.: "Well with the condition Wakeman has been in as of late, she needed to. But right now, we've got more singles action so why is one of the competitors coming to the ring with two other guys"? Lawler: "Well it seems like wherever Jason Oliver goes, Rhodes and Dibiase are sure to follow". J.R.: "I still can't get over what they did to the legendary Jimmy Snuka on Rampage and judging by what we saw, Deuce is no longer a part of this group". THE FANS RISE TO THEIR FEET AT THE PLAYING OF BAGPIPES AND ROWDY RODDY PIPER STEPS OUT FROM THE BACK, DRESSED IN HIS "HOT ROD" T-SHIRT AND TRADEMARK KILT. Lawler: "Not likely..... but here he comes, J.R., it's the Hot Rod himself"! J.R.: "Speaking of legendary.... they don't get any more legendary than this guy"! Lawler: "I had the chance to talk to Piper earlier tonight and I asked him what Rampage would do for a GM if he gets hurt tonight, and, typical Piper, he just shrugged it off". J.R.: "There's no doubt Piper will be ready for this fight, but it is against a much younger, much more athletic superstar in Jason Oliver, the most recent TWF King of the Ring". Jason Oliver vs. 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper Right as the bell sounded, Oliver walked up to the current General Manager of Rampage and slapped him across the face with an open hand. Piper blew a gasket, firing back with a right hand that knocked Oliver to the mat. The one time Golden Glove boxer, Piper smashed Oliver with a combination of punches to the head and body before clotheslining him over the top rope. The crowd was going hysterical as Piper had them all fired up. He then left the ring to go after Oliver but caught a knee to the gut when he did. Oliver then grabbed Piper by the back of the head and flung him into the steel ring steps, his back crashing into them. As Oliver rolled into the ring, Rhodes and Dibiase snuck over towards Piper, but referee Chad Patton saw them and ejected them from ringside! Rhodes and Dibiase protested the decision with Oliver, but this allowed Piper to come back into the ring. After spinning him around, Piper rocked him with 2 more right hands. But after sticking a finger in Oliver's eye, Piper ran off the ropes and Oliver caught him with a nasty spinebuster. After pulling him up, Oliver put him right back down with a side russian legsweep followed by a big backbreaker across his knee. Oliver began to control the match, driving a knee into the small of Piper's back to soften it up some more. The crowd began to chant "Piper" but it seemed futile as Oliver grabbed both of his legs and stepped through, looking for the Sharpshooter. Piper did what he could to fight it, but Oliver was easily able to turn him over in the vaunted hold. Piper held on as long as he could, but it was no use and he soon had to tap out. Match Time: 5:11 J.R.: "That's it..... now break the hold"! FINALLY, OLIVER RELEASED THE HOLD ON PIPER AS "FLY FROM THE INSIDE" BEGAN TO PLAY. Lawler: "Well I sure hope Oliver is happy with himself, he beat Rowdy tonight". J.R.: "Yeah good for....... now come on.... the match is over"! WITH PIPER STILL ON THE MAT, OLIVER BEGAN TO PUT THE BOOTS TO HIM AND CONTINUED THE BEATING EVEN WITH CHAD PATTON's EFFORTS TO STOP HIM. BUT THE CROWD WENT WILD WHEN SHAWN MICHAELS RAN DOWN THE RAMP IN A PAIR OF BLUE JEANS AND A COWBOY HAT, SLIDING INTO THE RING. Lawler: "Look at this"! AS MICHAELS GOT INTO THE RING, OLIVER SLID OUT. J.R.: "Shawn Michaels has come to the aid of Piper here in San Diego and it's a good thing he did"! Lawler: "Shawn Michaels hasn't been seen in the TWF for awhile so why did he choose tonight to come back"?! SHAWN MICHAELS STOOD IN THE RING, SHAKING HIS HEAD AS HE LOOKED BACK AT OLIVER, WHO HAD A VERY COY GRIN ON HIS FACE. J.R.: "I don't know exactly what's goin' on here, but somethin' sure as hell is"! BACKSTAGE.......... TODD GRISHAM IS WITH MONEY MIKE. Todd Grisham: "Money Mike, you have just drawn your number for the Royal Rumble.... any chance we can find out what the number might be"? Money Mike: "Ya know, Todd..... if you weren't such an unlucky, unfortunate guy, you wouldn't be standing back here, holding a microphone and asking stupid questions..... you'd have a real job". Grisham: "Uh..... okay..... well any chance you might give your number to one of those unfortunate souls...... someone like The Boogeyman"? Money Mike: "Heh, I already did something nice for The Boogeyman and don't get any ideas, I won't take you down to Miami with me. This is my number and I'll be in that Rumble tonight..... to win". MONEY MIKE WALKS AWAY AS THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE DRAWING ROOM. ROYAL RUMBLE DRAWING ROOM IN THE DRAWING ROOM, REY MYSTERIO OF SLAUGHTERHOUSE WAITS FOR TALIA AND KELLY TO STOP SPINNING THE TUMBLER. WHEN IT STOPS, HE REACHES IN AND PULLS OUT A NUMBER. AFTER OPENING THE BUBBLE AND TAKING A LOOK, MYSTERIO PUMPS HIS FIST IN EXCITEMENT. BACK AT RINGSIDE, TECHNICIANS ARE SETTING UP THE APPARATUS THAT CREATES FLAMES FOR THE INFERNO MATCH. Cole: "It's heating up in the back as the superstars select their numbers for the Royal Rumble, but it's about to be scorching out here"! "BULLS ON PARADE" BY RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE COMES ON AND THE DOCKLAND DESTROYER HEADS TO THE RING ALONG WITH THE YARD BOSS. HTM: "It's gotta be two hundred degrees where I'm sitting"! Cole: "Well this has got to be as dangerous as any match we've ever seen in the TWF. I mean, the only way to win is to set fire to your opponent". HTM: "Well the minute I think that it's just crazy to even say that, I remember the two men we have competing in this match"! "LEFT BEHIND" BY SLIPKNOT COMES ON AND NAILS COMES OUT FROM THE BACK, GREETED BY MOSTLY ALL CHEERS. Cole: "The hockey masked freak himself, Nails has made a career on matches like this and although these two nearly destroyed each other at War in the Winter, I think this one is bound to get out of control"! HTM: "I just can't believe that one of these men will literally be put on fire"! Inferno Match Dockland Destroyer w/ The Yard Boss vs. Nails As the bell sounded to start the match, the flames were turned on and the heat was cranked up. Mike Enos, the referee for the match, just had the responsibility of standing outside the ring. The two men went right after it and Dockland Destroyer had a different plan of attack than the last match, attacking the body of Nails rather than the protected head. After a big knee to the gut, DD grabbed Nails in a double underhook and flung him dangerously across the ring. Nails got to knee and punched DD as he moved in, following up with a clubbing shot to the back. Even the Yard Boss had to stand several feet away from the ring due to the heat. Nails was able to rock the Destroyer with several closed fist punches before dropping him with a headbutt. Nails then grabbed the top rope with both hands and tried to use his feet to push DD towards the open flame. But the Destroyer was able to avoid that and after taking out Nails with a back footsweep, he got on him and used both hands to choke him. The Destroyer then pulled the hardcore icon to his feet before throwing him face first into the top turnbuckle. After a backdrop suplex, Dockland Destroyer grabbed the torn shirt of Nails and nearly ripped it right off his body as he drug him towards the flame, trying to catch something on fire as the Yard Boss encouraged him, yelling "Light his ass up". Nails fought off the attempt and after a kick to the lower abdomen, he scooped DD up onto his shoulder and ran across the ring, delivering snake eyes. But Nails didn't drop him on the top turnbuckle, he dropped him on the steel post behind it! The Destroyer tried to stay on his feet, but his mouth had been busted open and Nails then hit the ropes before kicking him right in the face. The Yard Boss tried to figure out a way to get in the ring, but Nails stood at the foot of the ring, almost daring him to come in. But this momentary distraction allowed the Dockland Destroyer to come from behind with a low blow! After whipping Nails to the corner, DD charged in with a clothesline but missed badly. Nails then reached into his back pocket, pulling out the brass knucks which he turned out the lights of the Destroyer with! Nails then picked him up and tossed him through the top and middle ring ropes. One of Dockland Destroyer's pant legs caught on fire and Enos immediately asked for the bell to stop it. Match Time: 8:22 HTM: "Ah! He's on fire"! 2 TECHNICIANS RUSHED OVER WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHERS TO QUICKLY DOUSE THE DOCKLAND DESTROYER. THE YARD BOSS WAS VERY UPSET BY THE DEFEAT OF HIS MAN. Cole: "Wow..... I've seen stunt men go through less! What a brawl"! "LEFT BEHIND" BEGAN TO PLAY AND NAILS RAISED BOTH ARMS UP IN VICTORY. HTM: "Oh what's this.............. SUDDENLY, SAMAIEL APPEARED IN THE RING BEHIND NAILS WITH OF ALL THINGS- A FIRE POKER! NAILS TURNED AROUND TO SEE HIM AND SAMAIEL DROVE THE FIRE POKER RIGHT INTO HIS FACE, KNOCKING HIM TO THE MAT! Cole: "What the hell is Samaiel doing"?! HTM: "Well, he just put Nails' fire out"! SAMAIEL LEFT THE RING TO NOTHING BUT BOOS, CARRYING THE WEAPON. Cole: "Samaiel is scheduled to compete in the Royal Rumble match later tonight, but he just inserted himself into this situation and I can only ask, why? Why would he want to attack a guy like Nails, a borderline psychopath, with his own weapon"?! ROYAL RUMBLE DRAWING ROOM...... IN THE DRAWING ROOM, TITO ORTIZ ENTERS TO PICK HIS NUMBER BUT JUST AS HE's ABOUT TO GRAB ONE, THE LIGHTS IN THE ROOM FLICKER ON AND OFF, STARTLING BOTH KELLY AND TALIA. Shane McMahon: "What the........ did you get one"? Tito Ortiz: "Yeah, I got one. Technical difficulties"? Shane McMahon: "Yeah..... lights probably just need to be changed". THE SHOT GOES TO ANOTHER PART OF THE BACKSTAGE AREA, WHERE LENA YADA IS WITH JOE COREY. Lena Yada: "Okay, Joe, you've gotten what you asked for. Yet another match for the Universal title. But this time, if you don't win, you won't be allowed to be a part of WrestleMania.... what would.......... Joe Corey: "It's not gonna matter. Because tonight, I will get what I've had coming to me for a long time. So save your question, Lena, cause it's not gonna matter". COREY WALKS AWAY AS THE SHOT GOES BACK TO THE RAMPAGE BROADCAST POSITION. Lawler: "Wow.... I'm still trying to catch my breath after what we just saw, J.R., a man was on fire out here"! J.R.: "That Inferno match was certainly something to see but coming up right know, King, it's time for the TWF World title match and I can't wait". THE CROWD GOES ABSOLUTELY NUTS WHEN "ONE OF A KIND" BY BREAKING POINT STARTS UP AND PYRO POPS OFF ON THE STAGE BEFORE ROB VAN DAM COMES OUT AND MAKES HIS WAY DOWN THE RAMP. Lawler: "And here comes the challenger and what a huge oppurtunity for RVD tonight"! J.R.: "When you think about it, RVD has been one of the most successful superstars in the history of the TWF but tonight, this is about the claim of the champion. The claim that he is the best in the business and this is his chance to further that claim". "VOICES" BY REV THEORY STARTS UP AND A FLOOD OF BOOS FOLLOW BEFORE RANDY ORTON SLOWLY MAKES HIS WAY DOWN THE RAMP WITH THE WORLD TITLE STRAPPED TO HIS WAIST. Lawler: "Randy Orton feels he is basically untouchable, J.R. and I happen to agree with him"! J.R.: "Well I know you do and maybe even some of our viewers do but I see a very capable challenger in Rob Van Dam in that ring and he has a chance to refute it all". TWF World Title Match Challenger: Rob Van Dam vs. Randy Orton After removing the belt from around his waist, Orton tried to catch RVD off guard by hitting him with it, but RVD got out of the way and caught the champion with an up kick that sent the belt flying across the ring. Referee Jimmy Korderas went to grab the belt as RVD followed up with 3 more kicks to the chest of Orton before shooting him to the ropes. RVD went down in the splits as Orton hopped over him and ran off the other side but he was able to stop his own momentum and drive a right hand into the face of RVD as he was looking for a monkey flip. Orton began to shake off the quick start by Van Dam before rifling a set of right hands into the head of the challenger. Orton would then deliver a vertical suplex and as RVD got to a seated position, Orton kicked him hard across the upper back and shoulders. Orton grabbed him and worked him into a standing front facelock, clubbing him across the back repeatedly. But RVD was able to shake free and after fighting Orton off with a couple knifedge chops, RVD caught Orton with a perfect spin kick right in the mouth. Following a corkscrew legdrop, RVD went for a cover but Orton was up before the count of 2. RVD got to his feet and ran the ropes, looking for the Rolling Thunder. But Orton was able to block it by getting his knees up. He then threw RVD over the top rope to the floor, which bought him some time to recover. But RVD quickly got back up on the apron and when Orton made his way over, he drove a shoulder into his abdomen by going between the top and middle ring rope. RVD then tried for a second shoulder, but Orton was waiting with a knee to the head. From there, Orton grabbed RVD in a front facelock and with him draped over the middle ring rope, he drove him into the ring with a vicious DDT. Orton rolled atop RVD and Korderas got down to count the 1............2.........., but RVD got his right shoulder off the mat. Orton couldn't believe it, but he got up and grabbed RVD, trying to pull him across his body with a backbreaker. But RVD elbowed Orton in the back of the head and then used his legs to roll up Orton into a unique pin but Orton was up at 2. Both men got to their feet at the same time and RVD whipped Orton to the corner, running in with him. After diving into him with a shoulder to the midsection, RVD did a backflip, landing on his feet before hitting another shoulder to the gut. He then ran in, looking for a monkey flip, but Orton held the ring ropes to block it. RVD flew back and was able to land on his feet. He went for a clothesline but Orton ducked and then out of nowhere, he hit the "RKO"! Orton covered RVD and hooked a leg as Korderas made the 3 count. Match Time: 7:52 J.R.: "Oh, just like that"! Lawler: "Lights out for RVD"! KORDERAS GRABBED THE WORLD TITLE BELT AND HANDED IT TO ORTON WHO STOOD ON ONE OF THE TURNBUCKLES, RAISING IT UP IN HIS RIGHT HAND AS "VOICES" PLAYED AGAIN. THE CROWD RESPONDED WITH TOTAL BOOS. J.R.: "Randy Orton has come up big with a win over Rob Van Dam and now, that claim is starting to look stronger". Lawler: "Stronger?! I don't see how it can be denied at this point"! J.R.: "There is no doubt that Randy Orton is on a roll..... enjoying the best success of his career"! ROYAL RUMBLE DRAWING ROOM IN THE DRAWING ROOM, THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION JORDAN ROCKWELL ENTERS AND STICKS HIS HAND INSIDE THE TUMBLER, PULLING OUT HIS NUMBER. Shane McMahon: "Good luck out there, Rockwell". ROCKWELL OPENS THE PLASTIC BUBBLE AND TAKES A LOOK AT HIS NUMBER BEFORE LEAVING THE ROOM. THE LIGHTS ARE OUT AS THE SHOT RETURNS TO THE ARENA AND "MISERIA CANTARE" STARTS UP. THE FANS BOO AS JOE COREY MAKES HIS WAY TO THE RING. Cole: "Well there is no more ECW entrance, in fact, there's no more ECW"! HTM: "Yeah, well there's no more Paul Heyman either but Joe Corey still has the chance to be Universal champion right here at the Royal Rumble". Cole: "Well if he doesn't win this match, you know what else there will be no more of? There will be no more plans to include Joe Corey in the tenth annual WrestleMania because if he doesn't win this match and become Universal champion, he will not be a part of WrestleMania"! "THE TIME IS NOW" COMES ON AND JOHN CENA COMES OUT TO AN INCREDIBLE MIX OF BOOS AND CHEERS. HTM: "Well I think that's ridiculous but it should give Corey all the incentive in the world to win this match"! Cole: "Well here comes John Cena, a man who is no stranger to being in big matches like this one"! HTM: "Well here's what I want to know. Why is it that John Cena, who has ha more chances at the Universal title than people have had chances with Madonna, doesn't have to miss WrestleMania if he doesn't win this match? Explain that one to me". Cole: "Probably because Cena didn't go on a campaign and refuse to compete in matches unless it was for the Universal title. Probably because Cena wasn't attacking people from behind until he got another shot at the title! Fact is, Corey is lucky he's even a part of this match"! "YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME" LEADS INTO "METALINGUS" BY ALTER BRIDGE AND EDGE COMES OUT FROM THE BACK TO MOSTLY ALL BOOS. EDGE IS HEADED STRAIGHT FOR THE RING WITH A HEAD OF STEAM AND HE TAKES THE BELT OFF FROM AROUND HIS WAIST JUST BEFORE SLIDING IN. HTM: "Well much like Randy Orton earlier, Edge is out here to prove a point as well. I mean, how many times does he have to beat John Cena"? Cole: "Well if I recall right, he's beaten Corey before too". HTM: "Well don't try to get me to pick sides here, Michael. I just want to see the best man win"! Cole: "Triple threat match here where the champion does not have to be involved in the decision to lose the title". Triple Threat/TWF Universal Title Match "The Show" Joe Corey vs. John Cena vs. (c) Edge Referee Mike Chioda stood amongst three of PrimeTime's top superstars, waiting for one of them to make a move. Cena tried to get the crowd involved and Edge turned around, telling them to shut up. As he did, Corey moved in and drilled Edge with a right hand. Cena then followed with a right hand to Edge, knocking him to the mat. Corey looked at Cena and they both began to put the boots to the champion before pulling him up into a double suplex. Corey and Cena then went at it in a fierce exchange of right hands before Corey landed a knee to the gut. He then shot Cena to the corner when Edge got up and from behind, pulled Corey to the mat back first. Edge then charged into the corner after Cena but Cena moved out of the way and Edge posted his right shoulder. Cena then slammed into Corey with a clothesline before pulling him up and delivering his swinging sideslam. Cena went for a pinfall, but Corey was up at 2. Cena waited for Corey to get up and when he did, he shot him to the corner right into Edge. Both men were stacked up in the corner as Cena flew on with a body splash but Corey moved out of the way and Edge was the only recipient. Corey then rolled Cena up from behind to get the 1........2......., but Cena was up. Corey went for a clothesline when Cena got to his feet but Cena ducked before hitting the Throwback, getting a pop from the crowd. But when he turned around, Edge delivered the Spear! Edge slowly went into a cover on Cena, but could only get a 2 count! Edge went back into the corner and measured Cena for another Spear. Cena got to his feet and Edge ran at him, only to be met with a drop toehold which Cena turned into the STF-U. Cena had in locked in good, but Corey dropped down on him with an elbow to the back of the head. But Edge got up and kicked Corey in the stomach before hitting a big DDT. Edge was still feeling the effects of the punishment he'd taken earlier in the match, but he went to the apron and began to ascend the turnbuckle. Once on the rope, Edge flew off but was snatched right out of mid air by Cena! In an incredible show of strength, Cena threw Edge to his shoulders. Corey got up but Cena swung around, using Edge's feet to catch Corey and knock him to the mat. Cena went for the "F-U" but Edge amazingly landed on his feet. He hit the ropes and came at Cena but Cena sidestepped him and grabbed him by the back of the head, throwing him over the top rope. Cena turned around but Corey was waiting with a big Arn Anderson style spinebuster. He went for the cover and got a very, very near fall, but Cena got his right shoulder up off the mat. Corey grabbed Cena's legs and was trying to turn him over into the Cage, but Cena was too strong and easily blocked it, throwing Corey to the mat with his legs. Cena then got up and called for the 5 Knuckle Shuffle. Some of the crowd cheered and some of them booed as Cena ran the ropes, dusted off his shoulders and went for the falling fistdrop, only to see Corey roll out of the way. Cena seemed to jam up his fingers on the mat and was in some pain as Corey waited behind him. Cena then turned right into the "Showstopper". Corey had the match won, but he was stopped dead in his tracks by the familiar gong of a bell. The crowd loudly popped as Corey looked like he'd seen a ghost. Before he could react at all, Edge snuck back into the ring under the bottom rope and schoolboyed Corey for the 3 count! Match Time: 8:07 Cole: "He got him! Edge has retained the title"! AS "METALINGUS" PLAYED AGAIN, EDGE RETRIEVED THE UNIVERSAL TITLE FROM THE TIMEKEEPER AND WALKED OFF TO SOME SERIOUS HEAT. Cole: "It looked like The Show had won the match and the title and then...... well I don't know what the heck happened"! HTM: "Some strange things are certainly going on here, Michael and I can't help but think about the ramifications of this on Joe Corey"! Cole: "Well we all know what this means..... Joe Corey is out of WrestleMania 10 as of right now". COREY SAT ON HIS KNEES IN THE RING, IN COMPLETE DISBELIEF AS CENA ROLLED TO THE FLOOR AND WALKED BACK UP THE RAMP, VERY DISAPPOINTED. HTM: "Well just like Randy Orton earlier, Edge has shown his true metal with a successful title defense". Lawler: "Well I guess you and I are gonna call this thing, Michael, but you're right, there's nothing like the Royal Rumble. Thirty men, all fighting to get that golden ticket to WrestleMania....... I'm getting WrestleMania fever already"! HOWARD FINKEL IS SHOWN IN THE RING, READY TO EXPLAIN THE RULES. Howard Finkel: "Ladies and gentlemen..... it is now time for the 2009 Royal Rumble! THE CROWD LOUDLY POPS In just a few moments, superstars will come out according the number they drew earlier tonight. Every ninety seconds, another superstar will come out. The only way to be eliminated is to be thrown over the top rope and have both feet touch the floor. The last man in the ring will be declared the winner and will earn a spot in one of the main events at WrestleMania! THE CROWD AGAIN CHEERS IN UNISON. Now, let us all find out the man who drew number one"! Lawler: "Here we go..... who's it gonna be"?! A LOUD SIREN COMES OVER THE LOUDSPEAKERS AS "HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME" IS HEARD. BOOS FOLLOW AS SCOTT STEINER COMES OUT IN A PAIR OF RED TIGHTS. HE IS ALSO WEARING THE CHAINMALE OVER HIS HEAD. Cole: "Well there's your answer, King, Scott Steiner, Big Poppa Pump, is the man who drew unlucky number one tonight". Lawler: "I figured he'd at least come out here with Cherry..... what a ripoff"! THE UNITED NATION's MUSIC COMES ON NEXT AND WILLIAM REGAL STEPS OUT TO JUST AS MUCH BOOS. Cole: "Well number two is gonna be William Regal, the leader of the U.N.! Harry Smith and Paul Burchill are both competing here in the Rumble as well. Can you imagine if the three of them got in there together"? Lawler: "Well they could obviously do some damage, but the Royal Rumble is starting with two PrimeTime superstars"! Cole: "Don't forget that Rey Mysterio from SlaughterHouse, will be competing here in his hometown tonight"! 2009 Royal Rumble Match Steiner and Regal met in the center of the ring like Ali and Frazier, trading blows. Steiner began to get the best of the leader of the U.N. but Regal got in a thumb to the eye and grabbed Steiner in a headlock, raking his eyes against the ropes. Regal then began to muscle Steiner over the top rope but Steiner caught him with an elbow to the jaw to stop him. A loud countdown from 10 began and the sound of a buzzer was heard before Money Mike came out as #3. Money Mike hit the ring and dropped both Steiner and then Regal with right hands. Steiner got back up and hit Mike with a double axe handle to the head before knocking him into the ropes with a clothesline. Regal then got up and ran at Money Mike but Mike was able to backdrop him out of the ring. Steiner and Money Mike's battle raged on as Chris Masters came out next. After combining to take Money Mike out with a double spinebuster, Masters and Steiner went into some sort of "pose off". But the crowd didn't prefer either man, booing them both loudly. Steiner and Masters tied up in a collar and elbow as Cody Rhodes joined the fray. Rhodes went right after Money Mike and after 2 hard forearms, he threw a dropkick that nearly knocked him out of the ring. Rhodes then began to tangle with Steiner as Masters came over and grabbed Mike, trying to hip toss him over the top rope. But Mike blocked it by grabbing the top rope before hip tossing the Masterpiece out instead. Money Mike then joined Steiner in beating down Rhodes before cheapshotting Big Poppa Pump, knocking him to the mat with a right hand. #6 came out and it was big Mike Knox. Knox came into the ring and clotheslined Money Mike before catching Steiner with a bicycle kick right as he stood up. Knox then swung a clothesline at Rhodes but Rhodes ducked and kicked Knox in the left kneecap. But Money Mike got up and delivered a clothesline Rhodes never saw coming, one that put him out of the match. Damion West and Dylan Jansens were the next two men in, in that order and the two longtime TWF veterans began to work together, providing some very exciting offense. After watching the Jansens/High Octane tandem nearly put both Steiner and Knox out of the match, Money Mike tried his hand, kicking Jansens in the groin from behind. Knox tried to come from behind on West but he turned and drilled him with the "Head on Collision", knocking him over the top rope. He then threw a right hand at Money Mike but it was and he hit him with one of his own but when he went for an irish whip, High Octane reversed it and Jansens recovered in time to catch Money Mike with a double dropkick that knocked him out of the ring! High Octane tried to pull a fast one by running at Jansens but DJ pulled down the top rope and West went sailing to the floor just as Finlay came into the ring. In the midst of all the brawling, Paul Burchill had come into the match before Finlay. Burchill as really in a zone, taking on everyone in the match. He even got Steiner up for a piledriver. The men in the ring were stuck in a free for all as Tito Ortiz got his number called. Ortiz and Finlay went right at it and Ortiz was getting the best of it until he knocked Finlay into the corner. Steiner came over and tried to follow up on the Irishman but Finlay grabbed the shillelagh and clubbed him over the head. That led to an easy elimination of Steiner. CM Punk and Jack Swagger both came out to their music but in the ring, Burchill was still rolling, getting an elimination on Jansens. Finlay and Ortiz continued their fight as Punk tried to fend off an alliance of Swagger and Burchill. Punk caught Swagger with a nasty discus punch but Burchill got Punk on his shoulders and nearly got him out. Punk held the top ring rope to block the elimination before elbowing his way free, only to catch a boot to the face from Swagger. Swagger went over to the Finlay-Ortiz fight and tried to interject himself, only to have the man from Ireland and the former UFC champion take their rage out on him. Punk threw a kick at Burchill that found the mark before going back at Swagger. But Swagger began to take over. He grabbed Punk and just launched him over the top rope before clotheslining Finlay and Ortiz over the top rope! Burchill and Swagger were the only men in the ring and Burchill began to think out his next move as Swagger stalked him. The buzzer sounded again and the Manbear, Sylvester Terkay made his way out. Swagger cracked a smile as he saw Terkay heading to the ring and it looked like he would try to convince him to help with Burchill. But instead, Swagger cheapshotted Terkay, hitting him with a right hand. But Burchill came from behind and dumped Swagger over the top rope. Swagger hit the mat in frustration as the referees looking on from outside the ring escorted him away. Burchill and Terkay had the ring to themselves and the brawl was on. Kevin Thorn came in at #15 and didn't shy away from either man, hitting both Terkay and Burchill with hard right hands. The ring would soon fill up as Mr. Kennedy, last year's winner came out followed by Vladimir Kozlov and Chris Tirpak. The slow, plodding style of the match continued as these men brawled all over and went for an elimination here and there. Tirpak and Kennedy seemed to have each others backs as they fought off Thorn, Kozlov, Burchill and Terkay. But as Tirpak battled Thorn and Kennedy matched up with Burchill, a showdown was looming between Terkay and Kozlov. The Manbear went nose to nose with the Moscow Mauler in the center of the ring and after some pushing and shoving, Kozlov hit the ropes and delivered a shoulder tackle on Terkay that knocked him back a few steps. Terkay told him to try it again and Kozlov did but this time, Terkay clobbered Kozlov with an overhand right. Terkay took his eye off the ball though and Kennedy came from behind and dumped him over the top rope. Kozlov tried to shake off the effects of the right hand but he caught a clothesline to the back of the head from Burchill which eliminated him. Axl Irvin came into the melee followed by Harry Smith, who had number 20. The TWF Tag Team champions were in the ring together and made up a very formidable roadblock for anyone trying to win the match. Axl Irvin and Chris Tirpak didn't back down from the U.N. and the crowd was loving the knock down-drag out fight between the four men. Meanwhile, Kennedy was doing all he could to fight off Kevin Thorn, who was choking him in the corner. Kennedy finally got a kick in to gain some seperation but when he tried to lift Thorn up over his head, Thorn elbowed him twice on the top of the head and clotheslined him out of the ring! Unbelievably, it was Thorn who eliminated Kennedy in 2007 and Kennedy eliminated Thorn last year. Next out was Richard Ramsley, followed by Chaos Wolf. Ramsley went after Thorn and Wolf joined in on the fight against Smith and Burchill. After overtaking them, Wolf and Tirpak made eye contact. The fans were expecting an explosion but the two began to work together and they were going wild, hitting everything that moved. Both men had a chance to turn on the other but for whatever reason, they didn't take it. At that moment, the seductive vampiress, Ariel, made her way down the ramp. Kevin Thorn saw her and absolutely took over at this point. Burchill got in his way and Thorn eliminated him after nearly 20 minutes in the match. Like a man possessed, Thorn eliminated Axl Irvin, Ramsley, Tirpak and then Harry Smith, in that order, all in a span of one minute and eleven seconds. Thorn then grabbed Wolf and threw him over the top, but Wolf landed on the apron and came back in, jumping on the back of Thorn with a sleeperhold. The buzzer sounded for #23 to join the fray and it was Dolph Ziggler. Wolf released the sleeperhold on Thorn so he could drop Ziggler with a right hand. Thorn came from behind with an axe handle to Thorn and J.J. Ramplin was the next entrant in the match. Ramplin was definitely ready to make an impact as he powerslammed Wolf and then ran through Ziggler with the Ram's Horns. Ramplin measured Wolf for his big spear as well, but Wolf was able to avoid it by punting Ramplin as he ran in. Wolf then turned and clotheslined Thorn out of the ring. Thorn landed right down by Ariel and the man who eliminated more superstars than anyone else on this night had been eliminated himself. Samaiel came into the match followed by Blade, two rookies looking to make the most of their first Royal Rumble appearance. But Wolf met Blade with a thrust to the throat as he made his way towards Samaiel. The two men were all over each other and they almost eliminated each other during the exchange. At one point, both men were trading shots on the apron and Wolf nearly had Samaiel out but Ramplin came over and drilled Wolf with a flying shoulder block, knocking him to the floor. He then took a swing at Samaiel but Samaiel ducked and kicked him in the midsection before getting himself back into the ring. Ziggler then came over and tried to put Ramplin out but Ramplin landed on the apron after being thrown over the top rope. Ramplin then got underneath Ziggler and lifted up, somehow backdropping him over the top! Ted Dibiase was next in the match and he went right into a tie up with Blade as Ramplin and Samaiel struggled to make it to the end. Then came #28. The fans went wild as Jordan Rockwell got into the match and was on fire. He knocked Dibiase down with a stiff right hand before dropping Ramplin with one as well. Blade came over and he and Rockwell were all over each other, both nearly eliminating the other. Rey Mysterio was next in the match to arguably the biggest pop of the night. He started by using the ropes for his seated senton on Ramplin. Mysterio then caught Dibiase with a flying headscissor and he was rolling. After running the ropes, Mysterio allowed Rockwell to fling him over his head, right onto Blade. At this point, Samaiel had isolated himself in a corner, avoiding the action and letting the others take each other out. Suddenly, Mysterio had Ramplin set up for the 6-1-9 but when he went for the spin through the ropes, The Ram actually caught him and stood up, throwing him out of the ring. Ramplin and Rockwell then met again, brawling it out. Ramplin tried to get Rockwell up on his shoulder but what a mistake that turned out to be. Rockwell slipped off and picked Ramplin up for an atomic drop but instead of performing the move, he just dropped Ramplin out of the ring. Samaeil, Rockwell and Dibiase is all that was left. And #30. 10......9.......8......7......6......5.....4......3.......2......1......., the buzzer sounded and Travis Wakeman came out with the last number of the night. He seemed to be really gutting it out, as something was clearly not right. Wakeman got into the ring and Dibiase jumped right on him. Rockwell and Samaiel traded shots until Rockwell got in a back elbow that knocked him into the corner. Rockwell then grabbed Dibiase from behind and pulled him off Wakeman, delivering the Rock Smasher. Wakeman got up and locked eyes with Rockwell. Rockwell actually extended his hand, an olive branch of sorts, to Wakeman. But before Wakeman could do anything, Samaiel slammed into Rockwell from behind, knocking him right into Wakeman. Wakeman went over the top and fortunately landed on the apron. Rockwell however, was then tossed out of the ring by Samaiel. Samaiel used his feet to try and push Wakeman out but Wakeman rolled back in and got to his feet, blocking as many punches from Samaiel as he could. Samaiel measured him for a right hand but Wakeman blocked it and came back with a rough headbutt before grabbing Samaiel by the back of the head, throwing him over the top rope. Dibiase ran over and put Wakeman down with a swinging neckbreaker. It was down to just the two of them. As Wakeman slowly got to his feet, Dibiase measured him for the Million Dollar Dream and when he got up, he slapped it on. Dibiase had it in good, but Wakeman refused to be done. In a moment that will be remembered for a long time to come, Wakeman was actually able to pull Dibiase up over his head while the hold was still on and while he was all but out of gas, he managed to negotiate him over the top rope and to the floor! Cole: "Can you believe this?! For the third time in his illustrious career, Travis Wakeman has won the Royal Rumble"! Lawler: "He's won it, but here come the EMTs"! WAKEMAN HAD SOMETHING TERRIBLY WRONG BUT HE REFUSED ANY TREATMENT, PUSHING THE PARAMEDICS AWAY SEVERAL TIMES. Cole: "What the heck is going on here"? Lawler: "All I know is it's a good thing that Wakeman drew number thirty..... he couldn't have won it from any other position"! "ENTER SANDMAN" BLARED OVER THE LOUDSPEAKERS AND THE FANS CHEERED AS WAKEMAN CAUTIOUSLY WENT UP THE RAMP. Cole: "Well I'm not sure what to make of this. We can sum it up by saying that Travis Wakeman has just inserted himself in the main event of WrestleMania 10..... if he's physically able".
