A JAPANESE GONG SOUNDS OVER THE LOUDSPEAKERS AND MASATO TANAKA's MUSIC HITS.
Jonathan Coachman:"That is going to be a huge match in the main event at Tidal Wave but the question on everybody's minds is what role will Triple H play in the outcome as the guest referee"?
CARNEY's MUSIC HITS.
Cole:"Well it's the eve of Tidal Wave as we are in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but in just a few hours from now, a ring will be set up in the middle of Daytona Beach for Tidal Wave"!
Coachman:"This will be an interesting match to kick things off as the youngster Carney will try to take out the multiple time lightheavyweight champion Tanaka".
Cole:"Also tonight, Chyna defends her Women's title against Jessica Lopez and Bret Hart will have a warm up match against a suitable opponent selected by Commissioner Piper"!
Carney vs. Masato Tanaka Carney got off to a rocky start as he walked into a savot kick. Tanaka's martial arts prowess carried him through the match. But Carney turned things around when he hit Tanaka with a hurracanrana. Carney's speed began to frustrate Tanaka and it took him off his game. After a legdrop off the middle turnbuckle, Carney used a backslide to get a 2 count. But Tanaka took him out with a footsweep and then lifted him up to the top turnbuckle and began to climb up. But Carney got a shot into his midsection and locked in a front facelock. Carney then hit Tanaka with a tornado ddt, hooked the leg and got the pin. Match Time: 6:26 Cole:"That's gotta be considered an upset"! Coachman:"And Carney can now use this win as a stepping stone to reach greater heights"! STEVE CORINO's MUSIC HITS AS HE COMES OUT. Cole:"Here is the man who calls himself "Old School". CHRIS MICHAELS MUSIC HITS. Coachman:"And here is the man known as "Sudden Impact". This should be a fun one to watch"! Steve Corino vs. Masato Tanaka What a match this turned out to be! Corino controlled the tempo early by using basic holds to wear down Michaels. But Michaels retaliated with several kicks to the body which put Corino on the defense. Back and forth the seesaw battle went as Michaels caught Corino with a hurracanrana but Corino got up and dropkicked him in the knees. Corino then worked on both knees, applying many submission holds. But Michaels showed a lot of heart as he hung in there. Once he got back to a vertical base, Michaels nailed Corino with an enziguri. He then used a crushing ddt off the top turnbuckle but Corino somehow kicked out at 2. As the men slowly got to their feet, Corino went for a clothesline but Michaels ducked and hit him with the "Sudden Impact" out of nowhere to get the pin. Match Time: 10:14 Coachman:"That's the type of quality win this kid needed"! Cole:"You're right about that Coach. Michaels has been on a losing skid of late and maybe this win is what he needed to get his win-loss record going the other direction". PRIOR TO COMMERCIAL.... PIPER's OFFICE Bahamut:"I'm asking for one more shot, to prove something to myself and my fans". Piper:"I'll tell ya what, I'm not gonna include you in the Intercontinental title match at Tidal Wave. But what I will do is sign a new match for Tidal Wave, you versus Matt Hardy. The winner gets a shot at the Intercontinental title on RAW after the pay-per-view. How's that sound"? Bahamut:"I can live with that". "THE KINGS" BY RUN DMC HITS AS SEAN O'HAIRE AND CHUCK PALUMBO COME OUT TO A GOOD RESPONSE. Coachman:"Bahamut versus Matt Hardy has been added to Tidal Wave! That should be a dandy"! X-FACTOR's MUSIC BY CRACKER HITS AS X-PAC AND JUSTIN CREDIBLE COME OUT TO LOUD BOOS. Cole:"This should be a good tag team match here as well between two teams on the verge of breaking out"! Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'haire vs. X-Pac and Justin Credible Palumbo and O'haire are definitely ready to face the elite after this match but the big story came afterwards. All 4 men were in the ring for a good portion of the match. Palumbo and O'haire exploded on X-Factor with some innovative moves never before seen. Palumbo worked on Credible as O'haire overwhelmed X-pac. After ducking a clothesline, Palumbo hit Credible with a superkick that took him out of the ring. O'haire then put X-Pac down with a torcher rack into a helicopter drop. He then went up top and came flying off with a lariat that nearly beheaded X-Pac. O'haire then made the cover and got the pin. Match Time: 10:39 Coachman:"Wow! Palumbo and O'haire look great"! SUDDENLY, CREDIBLE COMES INTO THE RING AND BEGINS TO ARGUE WITH X-PAC. HE SHOVES X-PAC TO THE MAT AND BEGINS TO WALK AWAY. BUT X-PAC LOWBLOWS HIM FROM BEHIND AND DELIVERS THE "X-FACTOR"! X-PAC THEN SPITS ON CREDIBLE AND LEAVES. Cole:"What is goin' on there? Somethon' we don't know about"? SHORT INTERMISSION. THE TWF TRON SHOWS TWF.COM AD FEATURING THE NEW Q&A LINK. "ENTER SANDMAN" BY METALLICA HITS AS DUKE WILLIAMS COMES OUT. Cole:"This guy's fellow Confederates Maddogg and King Killer will challenge the Acolytes for the tag team titles at Tidal Wave but tonight, he has a chance to take out the leader of the Reluctance of Society". "I AM" BY EMINEM HITS AS MIKE NORTON STRUTS HIS WAY OUT WITH SPICE. Coachman:"Just days ago on RAW, we saw Test confront Norton, concerned about their group. But Norton seemed confident the group is ready to make an impact". Duke Williams vs. Mike Norton Norton knew he couldn't brawl with Williams so he resorted to trying to get him to the mat. Norton was successful early as he pounded away on Williams and thwarted any offense he could muster. But Norton missed a clothesline and Williams ran through him with one of his own. The match turned around here as Williams began to put the boots to Norton and then caught him with a variation of the samoan drop as he came off the ropes. Norton tried to stay out of Williams' range but he took a hard right hand and then a sidewalk slam. But Norton dodged a big boot and nailed Williams with a spinning right hand. Norton then went for an uncharacteristic high risk move but miscalculated it. As soon as he got to his feet, Williams put him away with the "Mac Attack". Match Time: 9:17 Cole:"The Reluctance of Society continues to sink". Coachman:"And on the other hand, the Confederation is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with"! FOOTAGE IS SHOWN OF JESSICA LOPEZ DEFEATING TIANA TAYLOR TO BECOME #1 CONTENDER. JESSICA LOPEZ' MUSIC HITS AND SHE COMES OUT TO A MIXED REACTION. Cole:"Here comes the woman who held on to the Women's title for over nine months. But does she have any chance here Coach"? CHYNA's MUSIC HITS AND SHE COMES OUT TO A BIG POP. Coachman:"Well Lopez will have to try and outquick Chyna. She doesn't wanna brawl with her. If she does, it'll be over quick". TWF Women's title match Challenger... Jessica Lopez vs. Chyna One hell of a match! This one featured 14 2 counts in all as Lopez came within a hair of the upset of the year. Lopez outworked Chyna and she was a lot quicker. Lopez used a schoolboy, bridge and a figure 4 into a flip over as pin attempts and got long 2 counts on all of them. Chyna was stunned as she fought back with forearm shits before putting her down with the "Chyna Bomb". But Lopez had enough left to get a foot on the bottom rope! Chyna was in disbelief as she whipped Lopez to the corner and went for a handspring back elbow. But Lopez moved, schollboyed Chyna and got as near a fall as you can. But Chyna had enough. She got up and clotheslined Lopez and then came off the top rope with a double axe handle. When Lopez came to her feet, Chyna used a go behind followed by a sleeper hold drop to finally put her away. Match Time: 11:31 Cole:"Chyna's retained the title but she didn't expect to get challenged like that"! Coachman:"What an effort by Jessica Lopez! I didn't think any woman on the roster could take Chyna to the brink of defeat"! PRIOR TO COMMERCIAL..... BACKSTAGE TATANKA IS SHOWN LACING HIS BOOTS. Cole:"Can Tatanka get redemption on Val Venis? That match is next". COMMERCIAL.....A COMMERCIAL FOR STACKER2.COM WITH TERRI IS SHOWN. RETURN FROM BREAK... RHYNO BREAKS INTO BRET HART's DRESSING ROOM. Rhyno:"Hey Hitman, you got me tonight and when I'm done with you, you won't even make it to Tidal Wave"! Bret Hart:"Looks like Piper's gonna challenge me. Well Rhyno, prepare to be excellently executed". VAL VENIS' MUSIC HITS Cole:"Bret Hart has to face Rhyno tonight? That's not a warm up match, that's a war"! TATANKA's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT TO A GOOD REACTION. Tatanka vs. Val Venis This was somewhat of a sloppy match as the two just traded punches. But Venis got in a knee lift as Tatanka charged him and that led to a fisherman's suplex which drew a 2 count. The crowd tried to get Tatanka goin' as the Native American chopped away on Val. But after getting a thumb to the eyes, referee Chad Patton went to check on Tatanka when Val removed one of the turnbuckle pads, exposing a steel bolt. After a quick exchange of right hands, Tatanka whipped Val to the tampered corner and went for a body splash. But Val moved and Tatanka hit face first on the bolt and fell backwards. This allowed Val to go up and come crashing down with the "Money Shot" and get the win. Match Time: 4:08 Cole:"Val Venis now holds two wins over Tatanka"! Coachman:"He has his number so far"! RHYNO's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT. Cole:"Here we go fans! What a chip this would be on Rhyno's shoulder"! BRET HART's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT TO A THUNDEROUS OVATION. Coachman:"This man could be the next TWF champion if he can make Stone Cold bleed! But right now, it'll be the Hitman's technical style against Rhyno's powerhouse attack". Cole:"He's gotta watch the Gore. If Rhyno hits that, it'll be over"! Rhyno vs. Bret "Hitman" Hart These two got right after it as Bret went to work with an inverted atomic drop and a russian leg sweep. But Rhyno reversed an irish whip to the corner and gave Bret some serious shoulder thrusts. Rhyno began to pummel the Hitman and soon went for the "Gore". But Bret moved and Rhyno went into the steel post. From the back came "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. He entered the ring and Stunned referee Mike Kiotta and then nailed Bret with the TWF title. When he got up, Rhyno blasted him with the "Gore" and Austin picked up the pieces, Stunning the Hitman. Austin's music hit and he got up on the turnbuckle and raised the TWF title as the crowd got very hostile. Cole:"What is gonna go down at Tidal Wave? You don't wanna miss it fans, order now"!
