Cole:"All the buzz continues in the back however concerning the major news announced today, the TWF has purchased WCW"! Kelly:"That's right Michael and the TWF has also purchased the contracts of a few of their superstars". Cole:"You can head over to the TWF'S website to get all the latest on this". Kelly:"Just announced earlier today Michael was a four way elimination for the Women's title". Cole:"It will be on the card at Wrestlemania. Molly Holly will defend her title against Lita, Tori and Jessica Lopez". Dean Malenko's music hits Kelly:"As Dean Malenko makes his way to the ring, folks, we will have the semi-finals and the final match of our ongoing lightheavyweight tournament". Cole:"The winner advances to Wrestlemania to face Weapon R". Dean Malenko vs. Yuji Matasamo Malenko's ring savvy paid off here. He took away the speed and agility of the man from Japan. Malenko worked on the leg extensively to soften him up. But Matasamo kicked out of a double underhook powerbomb, a move Malenko's been winning with. Matasamo had new life, but Malenko turned a sunset flip attempt into the Texas Cloverleaf and Matasamo tapped out. Match Time: 4:09 Kelly:"Malenko's in the finals"! Cole:"He'll await the winner of the Juventud Guerrera-Scotty Prince match". Steve Corino's music hits Kelly:"We all saw Scotty 2 Hotty return from his absence on Primetime. This is the man who put him out and now it's time for payback". Scotty was pumped for this one and the crowd was behind him 100%. But Corino seemed ready and wrestled a good, smart match. Scotty fought off several high impact moves and tried a neckbreaker. But Corino slipped out of it and Corino used a picture perfect german suplex to get the win. Match Time: 4:59 Cole:"Scotty lost his focus". Kelly:"Well Corino wins here but it could have easily gone the other way". "Playboy" Scotty Prince's music hits Cole:"This will be our second semi-final match in the lightheavyweight tournament". Juventud Guerrera vs. "Playboy" Scotty Prince Juvi advanced to this round without even wrestling one match. So no one knew what to expect. But he overwhelmed Prince with an erray of moves including a corkscrew attack in which he jumped over the ropes out of the ring, bringing the fans to their feet. Prince had no answer and was beaten quickly after a victory roll by Juvi. Match Time: 3:53 Kelly:"What a win! Guerrera will meet Malenko in the finals"! Cole:"He made that look pretty easy". Tazz's music hits Cole:"We're back folks and if this is any indicator of how Wrestlemania's gonna be, it'll be one you don't wanna miss"! Kelly:"Well the problems Tazz has had with The Reluctance of Society are well documented and that situations about to explode". Tazz was fired up in this one, suplexing the big man all over the place. The much taller Test didn't bother Tazz. After a display of suplexes, Tazz slapped on the "Tazz-Mission" but Test low blowed him with a mule kick to gain control. After wearing Tazz down, Test went for his big boot but Tazz ducked and used an awesome overhead belly to belly suplex to win it. Match Time: 6:56 Kelly:"Tazz has defeated Test"! Cole:"Will Mike Norton meet the same fate when he defends the European title tommorow night against Jerry Lynn"? Kelly:"Well folks, in just a minute we are going to have an eight team over the top battle royale. But as an added treat, we have it for you tonight"! Anti-Patriot's music hits Kelly:"The first man to climb the pole and grab the lighter wins. They can then light the opponents flag on fire"! Cole:"And listen to this, Billy Gunn said that he couldn't handle it if he lost and let everybody in America down so both men have agreed to a loser leaves the TWF forever stipulation"! Flag Match The Anti-Patriot vs. "The One" Billy Gunn With a lot on the line, these two men gave it their all. The Anti-Patriot's pure wrestling style got the better of Gunn early but the momentum swayed after Billy hit him with the "Fame-Asser". Both men made several attempts to climb the pole but the other man stopped them. Anti-Patriot then rammed Gunn head first into the pole, cutting him open. With Gunn in trouble, the capacity crowd got behind him and the determination in his face was visible. Gunn was not to be denied and after Anti-Patriot missed with a running clothesline, Billy dropped him with the "One and Only". Billy used everything he had left to ascend the pole and snatch the lighter, winning the match! Gunn then let the Canadian flag burn! Cole:"I've never seen anything like this in my life"! Kelly:"Well the Anti-Patriot's short tenure in the TWF is over". Prior to commercial....Backstage... Jake Roberts and Paul Bearer head to the ring. Cole:"Intercontinental title on the line next"! COMMERCIAL... -A COMMERCIAL FOR WEIDER RESULTS IS SHOWN. Return from break... Ahmed Walker's music hits; he comes out with Torrie Wilson Kelly:"What an oppurtunity for this young man on the eve of Wrestlemania". Cole:"He'll face the crafty and dangerous Jake" The Snake" Roberts". Challenger... Ahmed Walker vs. Jake "The Snake" Roberts This was a slow paced match as the two men weren't very familiar with each other. The crowd was clearly behind Walker after each move he pulled off. But the longer the match went, the more of an advantage for Jake who took charge with a knee lift and a sleeper hold. But Walker fought back and climbed the ropes for a high risk move. But Jake cut him off and went up with him. Then Jake locked Walker in and came flying off with a ddt! This was easily enough to win it. Match Time: 4:26 Kelly:"What an unbelievable move"! Cole:"Great effort by Walker, I thought he was gonna pull it off"! Kelly:"Well folks, Wrestlemania comes your way in less than twenty four hours with a jam packed card. Michael, what do you know about this guy Drew Blood who will face Ken Shamrock"? Cole:"Nobody knows too much about him. He has a dark side and Shamrock's gonna have his hands full, as will Kane with The Leviathan". Kelly:"I think if anyone can destroy Kane, it's The Leviathan. What do you make of the Chris Jericho-Steve Austin situation"? Cole:"It will be two of the top superstars in the TWF today. Who will the fans side with"? Kelly:"And will it be the end of the unforgettable career of Shawn Michaels"? Cole:"I know I speak for everyone watching when I say, I sure hope not. HBK has put everything he's ever accomplished on the line against the Right to Censor. I'd hate to see it end that way". Kelly:"And what about that awesome main event"? Cole:"Well it's a man on a mission in Travis Wakeman against a man nobody ever believed in with Val Venis. You throw a 60 minute iron man stipulation along with the Trish Stratus situation and you've got an awesome matchup". Kelly:"Who's the better wrestler of the two Michael"? Cole:"That'll definitely be found out tommorow night. It could go either way". Dean Malenko's music hits Kelly:"Well it started with sixteen men. This is the final match. Who will face Weapon R at Wrestlemania"? Dean Malenko vs. Juventud Guerrera This was a great way to conclude the tournament. It was a seesaw battle in which Malenko dictated early. However, he did a serious amount of showboating, giving Juvi time to recover. As Juvi came back, his knifedge chops rang through the arena. With the spot at WM2 on the line, Malenko countered a body slam attempt but was spun around, right into the "Juvi Driver" as referee Tim White counted the 1-2-3! Match Time: 7:51 As Juvi celebrated, Weapon R snuck out of the audience and grabbed a steel chair. He entered the ring and nailed Juvi full blast in the head! Kelly:"What did he do that for? Weapon R's never backed down from a challenge". Cole:"How will that affect their match?
