AS THE PPV COMES ON, A DARK, SNOWY SKY IS SHOWN. 2 MEN BUNDLED UP IN TONS OF CLOTHING ARE CLIMBING A SNOW COVERED MOUNTAIN. ONE MAN SAYS TO HIS FRIEND "WE'RE ALMOST THERE". HIS FRIEND REPLIES "GOD I HOPE SO, IT's COLD OUT HERE". THE WIND GUSTS AND THE SNOW FLURRIES AS THE MEN CONTINUE TO CLIMB. THE FIRST MAN SAYS "WE'RE GETTING CLOSE, THIS IS WHERE WE WERE TOLD TO GO. WE'LL GET HELP HERE". SOON, THEY COME TO A CEMENT BLOCK IN THE PATH AND TOGETHER, THEY BRUSH THE SNOW OFF OF IT, REVEALING THE NWO LOGO! THE TWO MEN LOOK AT EACH OTHER AS THE WAR IN THE WINTER LOGO APPEARS ON THE SCREEN FOLLOWED BY A PICTURE OF VAL VENIS.

THE NWO LOGO AND TWF LOGO APPEAR ON EITHER SIDE OF THE WAR IN THE WINTER LOGO AS THE ARENA AND SELLOUT CROWD ARE PICTURED AND SOON A LONG FIREWORKS DISPLAY KICKS THINGS OFF.
Jim Ross:"The weather outside is frightful hear in Calgary but it didn't keep the thousands of fans who have joined us to sell out the Saddle Dome! We thank all of you who have joined us on pay-per-view for what should be a hell of a night"! Jerry Lawler:"Well I don't know if it's gonna be a big night for the TWF or any of these fans but it's gonna be the beginning of a great 2002 for the NWO"! CARNEY's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT WITH STACY KIEBLER TO A GREAT POP. J.R.:"The lightheavyweight title match is gonna be our first matchup of the night and it will be a rematch from just a few weeks ago when this man reached the top of the mountain in the division". ESSA RIOS' MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT TO A MILD CHEER. Lawler:"This may be the most entertaining match tonight J.R., these two are superb athletes". J.R.:"Essa Rios is one of the greatest highflyers you'll ever see but I can't stress enough how impressed I am with Carney and his diverse, daredevil attack. This is a great way to start things tonight". TWF Lightheavyweight Title Match Challenger... Essa Rios vs. Carney Both men had their opponent well scouted and neither hit any of their high flying moves. Carney used a few arm drags into arm bars to keep Rios grounded. Carney was a little more versed in mat wrestling and he didn't seem to be affected by that type of match. Rios used some great counters to escape the armbars and did everything he could to turn up the tempo. After a stiff kick to the face, Rios bounced off the ropes but Carney used a drop toe hold and went right into a riding side headlock. Rios battled his way out with 2 elbows to the rib cage and then backed Carney into the ropes and whipped him in. As Carney came off the ropes, Rios sidestepped him, grabbed him by the back of the hair and tossed him outside the ring. Stacy tried to hep Carney up as Rios came flying over the ropes with a suicide dive. Carney moved out of the way but Rios hit Stacy! Stacy was out of it as the match continued in the ring. Suddenly, both Hardy Boyz came running out to check on Stacy. Carney noticed this and went out and shoved Jeff, telling him to leave Stacy alone when Matt came from behind and threw Carney into the ring steps. He then rolled him into the ring where Rios picked him up and hit him with the "Rios Driver" to get the 1.....2....3. After the match, audio clearly picked up Jeff telling Matt, "what the hell are you doing"? Match Time: 4:00 J.R.:"Well I can't really describe what's going on out here other then to say Carney was just screwed big time". Lawler:"Come here Stacy, I'll make sure you're okay"! J.R.:"Essa Rios has regained the Lightheavyweight title but it definitely wasn't short of controversial circumstances". A VIDEO PACKAGE IS SHOWN OF THE RECENT HISTORY BETWEEN CHRIS BENOIT AND EXTREME JAPAN AND INCORPORATED INTO THE FOOTAGE IS THE RECENT LOCKER ROOM ATTACK BY EXTREME JAPAN ON SCOTTY 2 HOTTY. EXTREME JAPAN's MUSIC THEN HITS AS YUJI MATASAMO AND THE GREAT MUTA COME OUT TO A TON OF HEAT FROM THE FANS. J.R.:"The footage you just saw is the reason why this match has been made and it should be full of non stop action". Lawler:"What's wrong with these people J.R., is Japan not a favorite of Canada"? "THE KINGS" BY RUN DMC HITS AS SCOTTY 2 HOTTY COMES OUT TO A BIG CHEER. J.R.:"I don't think Extreme Japan is liked anywhere around the world King and I can gaurantee the roof is gonna blow off when Scotty's partner comes out". CHRIS BENOIT's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT TO THE BIGGEST OVATION ALL NIGHT. Lawler:"Boy you weren't kidding J.R.". J.R.:"A tremendous ovation for the man who grew up just a few miles away in Edmonton, Canada's own Chris Benoit"! J.R.:"But what kind of team are Scotty and Benoit gonna be"? J.R.:"To my knowledge this is the first time they've ever teamed together but a common enemy can create a strong union King". Yuji Matasamo and The Great Muta vs. Chris Benoit and Scotty 2 Hotty This was a very competitive tag team match that started outside the ring with all 4 men going at it. Benoit hit Muta with sveral knifedge chops as Matasamo and Scotty traded right hands. Benoit had Muta up against the steel turn post but Muta moved and Benoit knifegded the post! In obvious pain, Benoit spent a few minutes out on the floor nursing his hand. In the ring, Muta and Matasamo used classic tag team wrestling to overpower Scotty. Muta whipped Scotty into the ropes but Scotty ducked a wild swing and hit Muta with an inverted atomic drop. Benoit was ready for the tag but Scotty chose not to bring him in. Muta made the exchange to Matasamo who came in and used a footsweep on Scotty as he showboated for the fans. Benoit screamed at Scotty to "wake up" as Extreme Japan cut the ring in half and hammered away on Scotty. The crowd tried to rally behind Scotty and it seemed to work as he blocked a hip toss attempt by Matasamo and used a hip toss of his own. Benoit again screamed for the tag but Scotty again danced for the crowd. While the fans were into it, Benoit was not. Scotty then bounced off the ropes and Benoit slapped his shoulder, finally getting into the match. Benoit and Matasamo went at is but Benoit sooned gained the advantage with a german suplex. Benoit then hit his diving headbutt off the top rope and it seemed over but Muta made the last second save. As Benoit argued with referee Tim White, Matasamo tagged in Muta and Scotty brought himself back in by slapping Benoit's shoulder. Matasamo and Muta double teamed Scotty and Benoit went after Matasamo. The match again went outside the ring and Benoit and Matasamo spilled into the crowd. In the ring, Muta caught Scotty with a full nelson german suplex out of nowhere to pick up the pin. As Extreme Japan left, Scotty came from behind Benoit and drove him to the mat with a 2 handed facebuster. Scotty then left and the startled crowd actually booed him. Match Time: 12:27 J.R.:"What is Scotty thinkin' about"? Lawler:"Look at Benoit J.R., he's furious"! J.R.:"I can't say that I blame him. What's gotten into Scotty, he's not himself". BACKSTAGE LILIAN GARCIA IS IN A DRESSING ROOM WITH CAMMIE COPELNAD AND FAITH. FAITH IS DOING HER MAKEUP IN THE MIRROR AND LILIAN APPROACHES CAMMIE WHO IS SITTING ACROSS THE ROOM. Lilian Garcia:"Cammie, what a year it was for you. You will go into 2002 the Women's champion with no serious challengers in sight. What do you look forward to into the new year"? Cammie Copeland:"Well Lilian, I am looking forward to defending the title against any and all comers and to me, I don't care who it is. So if someone wants a shot, just let me know". THE CAMERA PANS ACROSS THE ROOM AND CATCHES FAITH WHO IS LOOKING AT CAMMIE AND LILIAN IN THE MIRROR. THE NWO THEME HITS AS NAILS COMES OUT WITH WALLY WILLSON. J.R.:"Back to the action folks as the UFC title match is coming at ya". Lawler:"This will be the first triumph of the night for the NWO J.R., the first of several"! KEN SHAMROCK's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT TO A HUGE CHEER. HE HAS THE UFC TITLE IS HIS LEFT HAND. J.R.:"Certainly we know the background of Shamrock and many feel that no one can be him in a match with these rules. However, Nails is perhaps the toughest man who ever set foot in the TWF and this one definitely will be tagged a slobberknocker". UFC Title Match Challenger.... Nails vs. Ken Shamrock Definitely the best UFC Title match in the TWF to date. The crowd was very into this one. It started with Nails attacking Shamrock with the ring bell hammer before the bell even rang as he walked up the ring steps. Referee Mike Chioda considered an immediate DQ but he was threatened with his job by Willson. The match began and Nails attacked the area of Shamrock's temple where he hit him with the bell hammer. But Shamrock showed an uncanny ability to get up after every shot. Nails scored several points with takedowns in the first half of the match and built a big lead. Dealing with another unfamiliar style, Shamrock finally broke the psycho down with pinpoint sublission holds. Shamrock used a variety of about 7 holds in minutes and totally took Nails off his game. With 10 seconds remaining, Shamrock hit Nails with the belly to belly suplex and went for the ankle lock but Nails kicked him in the face with his free leg and the two sttod face to face as the bell rang, ending the match at the 15 minute time limit. The two scuffled some more before Shamrock finally went outside and grabbed his belt. Standing in the aisle, Shamrock raised his arms in the air as he was announced the winner, 10-6 on the ringside judge's scorecard. Match Time: 15:00 Lawler:"What is going on? The judge is an idiot, Nails won that easily"! J.R.:"So have it investigated King! Shamrock's been declared the winner by decision much to the dismay of Nails and Wally Willson". BACKSTAGE TRIPLE H ENTERS THE ARENA AND IS SOON FOLLOWED BY SCOTT HALL AND KEVIN NASH. THE LOUD CHEERS OF THE CROWD ARE HEARD. J.R.:"There they are folks, the NWO's worst nightmare has arrived"! Lawler:"They're not gonna be a factor tonight J.R., Vince always has a plan"! FOOTAGE IS SHOWN OF THE RECENT FUED BETWEEN ROB VAN DAM AND THE UNDERTAKER, INCLUDING THEIR MATCH AT SURVIVOR SERIES. ROB VAN DAM's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT DOING HIS TRADEMARK TAUNT AND THE FANS GIVE HIM A GOOD REACTION. J.R.:"Popular from his days in ECW, Rob Van Dam doesn't seem to have lost his favorability with the fans King". "ROLLIN'" BY LIMP BIZKIT HITS AS THE UNDERTAKER RIDES OUT ON A RED AND BLACK TITAN BIKE AND THE CROWD GOES NUTS. Lawler:"They love RVD's abilities J.R., when was the last time you saw a guy come in and revolutionize this business the way RVD has"? J.R.:"Well, I'd have to say that would be the man riding to the ring right now! At six foot ten, The Undertaker hasn't lost a step in his illustrious career. However, RVD has had his number and it's something The Undertaker has gotta change tonight"! Street Fight The Undertaker vs. Rob Van Dam RVD opened the bout with some quick rabbit punches and kicks to the midsection. But The Undertaker soon caught up with him, catching his leg and kicking him right in the face. Undertaker began to take over, clotheslining RVD as he came off the ropes and then ramming his head with elbows in the corner. RVD had no answer for Undertaker's overpowering attack as he was hit by the "old school" top rope walk. The Undertaker then went for the chokeslam but RVD kicked him in the groin and went out and got a trash can lid. He hit Undertaker 2 times in the head with it before throwing him the lid. The Undertaker caught the lid and was drilled with the "Van Daminator". Referee Chad Patton began his count 1.....2...., but Undertaker kicked out! RVD then brought in his favorite weapon, the steel chair. He cracked the Undertaker across the back and then hit him with a spinning heel kick and Undertaker fell back into the corner. The crowd came to their feet as RVD rounded the ring and tried to dropkick the chair in Taker's face. But Undertaker dodged the move and hit RVD with a thunderous chokeslam. Then, unusually, Undertaker went to the top rope. He was slow getting their and RVD hit him with a jumping spin kick that swept his legs out. RVD then cracked him between the eyes with a bamboo stick and brought him off the turnbuckle with a reverse frankensteiner. RVD made the cover and got the win. But after the match, RVD was in the middle of his thumbs to the shoulders celebration when a frustrated Undertaker clubbed him from behind. Undertaker then whaled away on RVD's exposed body with the bamboo stick. Then, with no regard for anything, Undertaker used the "Last Ride" on the floor outside the ring, one of the most devastating attacks in TWF history. Match Time: 8:55 Lawler:"Oh my god J.R., this is not good". J.R.:"The Undertaker has snapped, obviously frustrated by the loss but he's gone too far here". Lawler:"RVD needs medical help folks, he's hurt bad". EMT's CAME OUT AND LOADED THE MOTIONLESS RVD ONTO A STRETCHER AND WHEELED HIM OUT OF THE ARENA. J.R.:"We've seen our first casualty of the war tonight folks but I just don't understand the thought process of the American Badass there". BACKSTAGE KEN SHAMROCK IS WALKING BACKSTAGE WITH HIS UFC BELT AND A TOWEL AROUND HIS NECK WHEN HE RUNS INTO HELLS ANGEL WHO's ABOUT 5 FEET AWAY. Hells Angel:"God decision win Shamrock". Shamrock:"Hey, a win's a win, it ain't my fault your boy didn't have what it took". Hells Angel:"He's got what it takes, you just got saved by the bell. You know what you are Shamrock? You're a punk ass bitch". SHAMROCK ANGRILY GOES AFTER HELLS ANGEL WHEN NAILS COMES OUT OF AN ADJACENT ROOM AND CLOBBERS HIM WITH A PAIR OF BRASS KNUCKLES. Nails:"And the winner by decision, Nails. It's hardcore or nothing, bitch". "THE KINGS" BY RUN DMC HITS AS CHUCK PALUMBO AND SEAN O'HAIRE MAKE THEIR WAY DOWN THE AISLE. J.R.:"The tag team titles are gonna be on the line momentarily folks but what a volatile situation we just saw backstage King". Lawler:"Well J.R., I said the NWO was gonna pave the way for the way we're gonna see things in 2002 and Ken Shamrock just found out first hand". "BOMBSHELL" BY POWERMAN 5000 HITS AS BAHAMUT AND STRIFE COME OUT TO A HUGE REACTION WITH THE TAG TEAM TITLES OVER THEIR SHOULDERS. J.R.:"These are the two best teams in the TWF in most people's opinion and Bahamut and Strife will be tested tonight". TWF Tag Team Title Match Challengers.... Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'haire vs. Strife and Bahamut This was an awesome match that exemplified how the tag team division will be in 2002. Palumbo and O'haire had the champs well scouted and they started by making several tags in and out, keeping Strife in the ring for much of the match. Palumbo ducked a big boot and used a chop block on Strife to start the onslaught. He then tagged in O'haire who came in and caught Strife with a spinning roundhouse and a superkick to the face. He went for the cover but Strife kicked out at 2. O'haire then used a blatant choke and Bahamut came into the ring, as did Palumbo. Referee Mike Sparks forced Bahamut to his corner and then did the same to Palumbo. But in the process, Strife caught O'haire with a big clothesline and tagged in Bahamut. But Sparks didn't see it and he forced Bahamut to the corner again, allowing a double team by the New Breed members. O'haire then caught Strife with a hot shot on the top rope and made the tag to Palumbo who hit Strife with what is widely considered the best right hand in the business over and over again. After a ddt, Palumbo measured the big man for his superkick but Strife ducked and with all he had left, chokeslammed Palumbo to the mat. Both men crawled to their corners and Strife made the tag. Bahamut came in with a head of steam and kept Palumbo in the match. He hit him with 3 straight clotheslines and then a delayed suplex. Bahamut then picked Palumbo up for a gorilla press slam but O'haire came in and superkicked him in the face. This brought Strife in but Palumbo fell on top of Bahamut. At the last second, Bahamut got a shoulder up. Strife and O'haire traded right hands as Palumbo backed Bahamut up against the ropes with his right hand. O'haire went for a cross body block but Strife caught him in mid air and used a fall away slam, throwing him right out of the ring. Palumbo took a step back and threw another right hand at Bahamut but Bahamut ducked and locked in a variation of the chicken wing headlock. With no escape route in sight, Palumbo tapped out as Bahamut and Strife retained the gold. Match Time: 23:25 J.R.:"Wow, simply unbelievable! King that's one of the best tag team matches I've seen in a long while". Lawler:"It sure lived up to it's billing". J.R.:"The question will certainly have to be asked now, is there a team out there that can beat these guys"? BACKSTAGE.... HARDY BOYZ' DRESSING ROOM.... Jeff Hardy:"Hey man, what you did out there wasn't cool". Matt Hardy:"What do you mean it wasn't cool? That punk went and shoved you for no reason". Jeff:"It wasn't for no reason, I shouldn't have gone and messed with Stacy out there". Matt:"Stacy was your girlfriend first Jeff". Jeff:"You're dilusional Matt". JEFF WALKS AWAY AND LEAVES THE ROOM. A VIDEO PACKAGE DATING BACK OVER 6 MONTHS IS SHOWN DEPICTING THE RIVALRY BETWEEN BROTHERS EDGE AND CHRISTIAN. CHRISTIAN's MUSIC AND GOLD FIREWORKS GO OFF TOGETHER AND HE COMES OUT TO A LOT OF BOOS. Lawler:"Okay J.R., Christian's Canadian, why are they booing him"? J.R.:"Yes he is Canadian, but he hasn't made the people back here in Canada very proud with his recent antics". "NEVER GONNA STOP" BY ROB ZOMBIE HITS AS EDGE STEPS OUT OF THE SMOKE IN THE ENTRANCEWAY TO AN OVATION THAT ROCKED THE ARENA. Lawler:"Come on Christian, this is your oppurtunity. This is your oppurtunity to embarass Edge in your homeland"! J.R.:Canada went throught the Bret-Owen Hart situation and this sibling rivalry definitey mirrors that". 2 out of 3 Falls Edge vs. Christian This battle for supremacy stole the show. A fantastic match. The first fall was over quick as both men expended little energy, keeping the match on the match and very slow paced until Edge ducked a clothesline and caught Christian with the "Downward Spiral" out of nowhere for the pin and a 1-0 lead. Fall Time: 4:55 Christian was given a 30 second break and the bell sounded again. Edge wasted no time reviving his attack. He had Christian in a ton of trouble as he used the Edge-O-Matic to get a 2 and a half count. That led to a clothesline off the middle turnbuckle and a nice backslide for another near fall. Christian couldn't get back into it and was caught with a powerslam as he came off the ropes. Edge waited patiently in the corner for Christian to get up and when he did, he charged in with the spear but Christian moved and Edge rammed the steel turnpost. Christian followed that with the "Un-Prettier" for the pin and a drastic change of events. Fall Time: 8:21 After the 30 second rest, Christian went for an immediate cover and got a 2 count before Edge got a shoulder up, but barely. The third fall was an epic war between the two brothers and former tag team champs. Christian was in total control after looking like he had no way to combat Edge's attack. But after ducking a clothesline, Edge used a russian leg sweep and then a slingshot into the turnbuckle. Edge rolled Christian up and got 1.....2...., but Christian kicked out. Edge then used a small package and again, Christian escaped. Edge then kicked Christian down low and went for the sunset flip but Christian caught himself and sat down on Edge to get a 2 and a half count. The fans came to their feet, cheering the performance they were witnessing. Edge reversed an irish whip but put his head down too early and Christian cleverly turned it into a reverse ddt onto his knee. Christian then went to the top rope and came flying off with an elbow drop but Edge rolled out of the way at the last possible moment. When Christian stumbled to his feet, he was planted with the "Edgeecution" and Edge got the 1.....2....3. Fall Time: 12:08 J.R.:"Edge has done it! Edge has done it! What a huge win and what a great match"! Lawler:"I still think Christian's the better man, he just made a costly mistake"! J.R.:"Well Edge made him pay big time and in my mind and I know most of the fans mind, Edge is the winner in this long time rivalry with his brother". "IT JUST FEEL RIGHT" HITS AS LITA COMES TO THE RING TO A BIG CHEER. WITH HER SHE CARRIES A MICROPHONE. Lawler:"What's this J.R.? I don't have this on my schedule, not that I'm complaining about seeing the lovely Lita". J.R.:"I don't have it either King but she seems to be in a serious mindset". Lita:"I'm out here tonight for one reason and I'm talking to whoever attacked Jordan at Survivor Series. First off, and this is not a threat, but a promise. You will be caught, whoever you are, you will be caught. I'm not gonna say anything that'll jeopardize the investigation, but we have some good leads. You're out there, hell, you're probably watching me right now, but you will be found. My new years resolution is to find you and bring you to justice, Jordan's justice. So to all the fans that are hear tonight and watching around the world, Jordan's doing great, he's just a few weeks away from coming back and when he does, there's gonna be hell for someone to pay". LITA THROWS THE MIC DOWN WND LEAVES TO A LOUD CHEER. J.R.:"What an emotional statement by Lita but to whoever the coward is who used a car to attack one of our wrestlers, I hope you're proud of yourself for doing what you did. We'll see how much pride you're left with when you're drug into a TWF ring and beaten like the dirty dog that you are"! FOOTAGE IS SHOWN FROM SURVIVOR SERIES WHEN RHYNO DEFEATED DREW BLOOD AND TAZZ IN A 2 FALL TRIPLE THREAT TO BECOME THE TWF's FIRST EVER DOUBLE CHAMPION. THEN FOOTAGE IS SHOWN FROM PRIMETIME ON DECEMBER 15, 2001 WHEN DREW BLOOD CLAIMED THE EUROPEAN TITLE FROM RHYNO. THE LIGHTS GO OUT AND DREW BLOOD's MUSIC HITS. HE SLOWLY MAKES HIW WAY TO THE RING, THE EUROPEAN BELT WRAPPED AROUND HIS WAIST. J.R.:"This is going to be a title for title match, Intercontinental versus European and Drew Blood's gotta hold the advantage King, having already beat Rhyno once". RHYNO's MUSIC HITS AND HE COMES OUT GRASPING THE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE. Lawler:"Well J.R., I love the abilities of Drew Blood, but I don't know if anyone can beat the manbeast twice". Title for Title Rhyno vs. Drew Blood This was a hard hitting brawl. Drew Blood tried to make Rhyno use some mat wrestling technique but Rhyno kept it a slugfest. Rhyno hit Drew Blood with a big powerslam 2 minutes into the match that drew a 2 count. But moments later, Drew Blood ducked a clothesline and hit Rhyno with a side russian leg sweep. Drew Blood chose Rhyno's left arm as the focal point for his attack and he worked on it all match. After several knees into the arm, Rhyno got up and threw a wild swing but Drew Blood countered with the "Bloodbath". But as he did in the match on December 15th, Rhyno kicked out! The match continued, shifting back and forth. Drew Blood hammered away on Rhyno's forehard with straight right hands. With Rhyno backed into the corner, Drew Blood used a series of knifedge chops, leaving several red marks on the IC champion's chest. Drew Blood then whipped Rhyno to the opposite corner and went for a big splash but Rhyno moved and Drew Blood went head first into the turnpost, opening a cut above his right eye. Rhyno went to the other corner as Drew Blood staggered around the ring, his vision blurred by his own blood. Rhyno then blasted him with the Gore and the emphatic 1....2....3. Match Time: 8:01 J.R.:"One mistake has cost Drew Blood in a match he really looked good in". Lawler:"One mistake is all it takes J.R. and Rhyno has become a double champion for a second time"! BACKSTAGE... TRAVIS WAKEMAN's DRESSING ROOM... Trish Stratus:"It's gonna be a great night, I can't wait to hear The Rock say I quit". Travis Wakeman:"He's not just gonna say it Trish, I'm gonna make him scream it. But ya know what? I'm sick of embarrassing The Rock on pay-per-view. After I win this match tonight, I'm going straight to the NWO's office on PrimeTime". Trish:"What are you gonna ask for"? Wakeman:"You'll see Trish, you'll see". A PROMO FOR THE EUROPEAN EVENT IN FEBRUARY IS SHOWN AS THE PARTICIPANTS FOR THE NEW YEAR's BATTLE ROYALE MAKE THEIR WAY TO THE RING. J.R.:"We hope you all join us for this groundbreaking event in February folks. It will be shown live in all European countries but it will air the following day in the U.S. on pay-per-view and the names we've got rolling in for this one is gonna make for a heck of a night, in fact King, one of my sources tells me you wanna compete that night". Lawler:"I'll tell ya what J.R., for the right amount of money against the right opponent, I'll compete anywhere. In fact, I wish I would've put my name in for this battle royale, I'd love to name my new year's resolution". J.R.:"And what would that be"? Lawler:"Nude women at TWF events"! J.R.:"Oh why'd I ask? Anyway folks, the man who does win this battle royale will get to publicly announce his new years resolution on PrimeTime next week but it's gotta be in the best interests of the company". New Years Battle Royale This was a very wide open field and anyone in the match could've won it. ZeroEx was conveniently named Kane's replacement by Wally Willson. Hardcore Holly made the first elimination, tossing Spike Dudley out. But Holly was immediately met with a superkick by ZeroEx and eliminated. ZeroEx then sidestepped a charging Matt Hardy and threw him out by the back of the head. As ZeroEx taunted Matt, High Octane came from behind and muscled him out of the ring. Tazz was on a tear, hitting anything that got in his way and when Masa Chono did, Tazz clotheslined him over the ropes to the floor. Justin Sane and Eddie Guerrero teamed up to put out the big man Albert, although the official elimination was credited to Sane. High Octane then came out of nowhere and threw Guerrero out of the match, drawing a loud cheer from much of the crowd. Tazz and High Octane went right after each other after a few minutes of brawling with other participants and Tazz just punished the smaller man. But after a Tazz-Plex, Justin Sane came from behind and attacked Tazz. Tazz fought Sane off but when he turned around, High Octane hit him with a dropkick that took him out of the ring. After a long series of trading right hands, Justin Sane dodged the "Sidewinder" and threw Mike "The Texan" Smith out of the ring. High Octane then went after Justin Sane and the two had a riveting series amidst all the bodies in the ring. High Octane backed Sane against the ropes and went for a flying body attack. But Sane moved and High Octane flew right out of the ring. The mystery entrant in the battle royale was the returning Big Show. He terrorized the match, eliminating Justin Sane by throwing him 5 feet over the top rope to the floor. A list of eliminations is below. Sam Wilde had taken a beating for most of the match, although he did a great job of avoiding unfavorable situations and late in the match, he used a spinning heel kick to put out the NWO's last hope, William Regal. Big Show then came after Wilde but X-Pac and Nemesis helped him out and they triple teamed the giant. After a spinning heel kick by X-Pac, Nemesis rocked the big man back with a clothesline and Wilde charged in with a huge dropkick to put Big Show out! An angry Big Show refused to leave and he pulled Nemesis out of the ring. The two brawled to the back and out of sight. That left X-Pac against Sam Wilde which was very good. After a great exchange, X-Pac backdropped Wilde. He thought he backdropped him out of the ring but Wilde's great agility allowed him to land on the ring apron. He then pulled X-Pac in to him by his hair and suplexed him out of the ring to the floor to win it. J.R.:"Sam Wilde has won it! Who would have ever thought that"?! Lawler:"He would've been the last guy I picked J.R.! I can't believe it, Regal or ZeroEx should be standing there"! J.R.:"Well it's a huge win for Wilde and now on PrimeTime, we will hear his new years resolution! I can't wait"! BACKSTAGE Michael Cole:"Rock, you heard Travis Wakeman telling Trish Stratus just moments ago that he's sick of embarrassing you on pay-per-view. What is your response to that"? Rock:"Michael Cole, The Rock is sick and tired of hearing Travis Wakeman's mouth. No one in the entire TWF runs their mouth the way he does. Wakeman, tonight, the talking is over and the only words that are gonna come out of your mouth are, I quit. Ya see, there's no quit in the brahma bull. The Rock doesn't know the meaning of the word. But the word embarrass. Wakeman, you know the meaning of that word. You are a big embarrassment to your friends, your family, the fans of the TWF, but most importantly, you're an embarrassment to yourself". J.R.:"Harsh words from The Rock but right now, let's take a look at how this one came about". A VIDEO PACKAGE IS SHOWN FROM THE ROCK AND WAKEMAN TEAMING UP, THE ROCK INTERRUPTING A WAKEMAN PROMO AND GETTING THE CROWD ON HIS SIDE, THEIR MATCH AT DOOMSDAY AND THEIR ENCOUNTER AT SURVIVOR SERIES. TRAVIS WAKEMAN's THEME AND PYRO HIT AS HE IS LED TO THE RING BY TRISH STRATUS. THE CROWD BOOS WAKEMAN LIKE NEVER BEFORE. J.R.:"At one time, this man was one of the most beloved superstars in the TWF but now, the fans can't stand him". Lawler:"Well I think he likes it that way J.R.. He's made it clear that the fans mean nothing to him". "IF YA SMELL.....WHAT THE ROCK....IS COOKIN'" HITS AND THE ROCK COMES OUT TO A DEAFENING OVATION. J.R.:"It's quite the opposite response for this man! There's only one Rock and listen to the Saddle Dome"! Lawler:"We'll see how happy they are when their beloved Rock says I quit"! Lawler:"I can't imagine those words coming out of the brahman bulls mouth however, like him or not, it'll be tough to get Wakeman to say them as well". I Quit Match The Rock vs. Travis Wakeman Wakeman tried to attack The Rock before the bell rang but The Rock was ready for it as he blocked a punch by Wakeman and hit him with 3 of his own. Wakeman turned the tide with a low blow though. He locked in several submission holds including the "Round Table" and The Rock realized he couldn't beat Wakeman on the mat. After pummelling The Rock for most of the match, Wakeman bounced off the ropes but The Rock caught him with a spinebuster. He then locked in the sharpshooter as referee Jim Corderis put the mic to Wakeman. His face etched in pain, Wakeman refused to give up. Trish then got up on the apron and took her boot off. But The Rock noticed her and relinquished the hold. He grabbed Trish by the hair and pulled her into the ring. As Corderis tried to help Trish up, Wakeman took a small metal bar out of his boot, one he's used before, and blasted The Rock with it. Wakeman put the boot away and locked in an abdominal stretch while pulling The Rock's head and neck back at an awkward angle, a move he calls "Mideveil Times". Corderis got no response from the unconcious Rock and rang th bell, awarding the match to Wakeman. Match Time: 11:24 J.R.:"Oh for god sakes ref, look at the man, he's out cold"! Lawler:"What a win! Wakeman has made The Rock give up"! J.R.:"He gave up unconciously but he never said the words I quit! This is a royal screwjob is all it is"! BACKSTAGE Michael Cole:"Sam Wilde, congratulations on a great win. This should be a tremendous boost for your young career. Now, can I get maybe a small hint on what your new years resolution for the TWF is gonna be". Sam Wilde:"Michael Cole, first off, let me say how proud I am to be the winner of this contest, it brings me great joy. But what will bring me even greater joy is announcing my resolution on PrimeTime and although I'm not going to give it away, it seems pretty obvious to me that this company is full of evil and wrongdoing. My goal is to cleanse the TWF of that and my resolution will attack those sinners directly". Cole:"Thanks for your time Sam and we'll all be watching on PrimeTime". J.R.:"Alright fans, we are just moments away from the TWF title match. Let's take a look at the history between the two combatants". A VIDEO PACKAGE BEGINS WITH SCOTT HALL AND KEVIN NASH APPEARING ON WCW NITRO IN 1996, FORMING THE ORIGINAL NWO. THE FOOTAGE FAST FORWARDS TO VAL VENIS' VICTORY OVER TRIPLE H ON PRIMETIME ON SEPT. 20TH 2001 FOR THE TWF TITLE AND HIS SUBSEQUENT WIN OVER HELMSLEY AT DOOMSDAY. VAL VENIS' NWO THEME HITS AND HE CAME OUT WITH THE TWF TITLE RAISED IN THE AIR AS THE CROWD LOUDLY BOOED. Lawler:"Here we go J.R., this man is ready to prove the ultimate point, beating Triple H for the third time"! J.R.:"A hat trick over the game would be most impressive but Triple H has a backup plan King". "THE GAME" BY MOTORHEAD BEGINS TO PLAY AND IS SOON OVERTAKEN BY A HOWLING WOLF AND THE OLD WOLFPACK THEME AS TRIPLE H COMES OUT FOLLOWED BY HALL AND NASH AS THE CROWD GOES WILD. Lawler:"This isn't fair J.R., these two are gonna cost Val the match"! J.R.:"No King, they aren't like the NWO, we'll see a clear winner here". TWF Title Match Challenger.... Triple H vs. Val Venis The match began with a traditional collar and elbow tie up and Triple H got the first advantage with a knee to the abdominal area. He whipped Venis in but Val ducked a clothesline and hit Triple H with a side russian leg sweep. Venis used a lethargic approach to slow the match down. After a scoop slam, Venis drop two elbows on the solar plexes of the game and went for the cover, getting a 2 count. Triple H made attempts to get out of a side headlock but Venis would pull his hair to keep it locked in. Earl Hebner finally caught on to this and forced Venis to break the hold. Venis began to argue with Hebner when Triple H clocked him with a straight right hand. That led to a big clothesline and a nice powerslam and Triple H went for the cover, coming within a fraction of winning it. Triple H whipped him into the ropes but Val reversed it. As Triple H came off the ropes, Val put his head down too early and Triple H used his facebuster to the knee. Suddenly, Hells Angel and Nails came out of the crowd and attacked Hall and Nash outside the ring. As this brawl went on, Wally Willson came running out wearing a referee uniform. He hit Hebner with a right hand and began to officiate the match. But this made X-Pac come out as Hall and Nash began to take control of Hells Angel and Nails. X-Pac came into the ring and blasted Willson with a spinning heel kick. He then picked Hebner up as Triple H hit the Pedigree. Hebner slowly made the count 1..........2...........3! Green fireworks erupted and the old DX music hit as Triple H was given the TWF title belt and Hall, Nash and X-Pac celebrated as the crowd went wild. Match Time: 14:26 Lawler:"X-Pac is gonna pay for that! He assualted a referee"! J.R.:"He's not a referee! This is great! The NWO's been outsmarted here and Triple H has won the title"!
