The Animals made a big impact in the first few months, with Konnan and Kidman winning the Tag Team belts from Harlem Heat, and their various attacks on Ric Flair. The fans took strongly to the Animals quickly, and they had entertaining fueds with the First Family and The Revolution.

Soon, however, it seemed it was all over. Eddy Guerrero and Kidman had an argument over Torrie, and went head-to-head on NITRO, November 15th. Guerrero came to the ring with Konnan and defeated Kidman with the Frog Splash. Rey Mysterio was sidelined with a knee injury, courtesy of The Revolution.

Within 6 weeks, though, everything seemed to be back together. The Kidman-Guerrero squabble was forgotten, and they all focused on eliminating The Revolution for good. Hacksaw Jim Duggan also joined in to lend his help.

Kidman defeated Dean Malenko at Souled Out 2000 in January, and pinned Perry Saturn on the same night. Unfortunately, he went down to The Wall, the newest Revolution member, in the final match of The Triple Threat Theater.

Many WCW fans were saddened to hear that Eddy Guerrero had left the company, along with Chris Benoit, Malenko and Saturn to the WWF.

Konnan picked up a shoulder injury and Rey was still sidelined, so Kidman went singles until April, when Rey and 'K-Dogg' returned to once again reform the group. They were all heel as part of 'The New Blood', Disco Inferno joined, and Kidman was in a top-line fued with Hulk Hogan. During a Tag Team match against Hogan and Kevin Nash of The Millionares Club, Mike Awesome and Juventud Guerrera both came out to support them. It was announced during the week that Juvi was the new member of the gang.

Kidman went down to consecutive losses against Hulk and then Hollywood Hogan at the Great American Bash and Bash at the Beach. In the second bout, Torrie turned on Billy. The rest of the FA's went against The Misfits In Action in tag action. During one match on NITRO, Nitro Girl Tygress ran in to stop Major Gunns attacking Rey. It was revealed that she was his girlfriend, and she took Torrie's place.

Kidman was soon thrown out for no apparent reason. The Animals soon turned face, and Rey and Juvi captured the Tag belts. But they soon lost them when Disco made a bet with The Cat. Konnan kicked him out of the group. Juventud soon left WCW when he caused a disturbance in a hotel during WCW's Australian Tour. During the tour, Kidman was re-called.
