The video feed begins with a replay of what happened on House of Hardcore. It shows the man rushing in from the crowd, with his devil's mask on, and sliding into the ring. It shows him pulling first one man, then the other off Wicked D. You see the first man getting a maneauver that looks a lot like a Stunner, but with a few modifications. Then the man slides back out and dives into the crowd as Wicked D finishes off the second guy for the win, gaining the world title.
An unseen hand reaches through the darkness and flips off the television. The clink of a Zippo opening rings out through the darkness, and a burst of flame lights up a small circle of what is going on. All that can be seen is the Zippo, the tip of a Newport, the top of a jumpsuit that has a silver clasp at the collar, and a chin. The flame goes out with a snap of the metallic lid on the Zippo, and then the sound is replaced by the faint crackling as the unseen man inhales. The cherry of the menthol cigarette makes a dimmer but larger circle of light, and a face is seen. It is the devil mask.
Who am I? What am I doing here? Why did I help Wicked D? Which question burns on your minds more?
The dim light of the cherry weakens and you can hear the man exhale. The cherry moves across the line of vision, and you can tell the man is moving around the room. There is another sound, a sound of rubber flexing. He is taking off his mask. The cherry stops floating as the man flicks the lights on. All that can be seen is the back of a head. It is bald, and the figure wears a black jumpsuit. The cigarette is held delicately between the fore and middle finger of his right hand. He brings it up to his unseen mouth and inhales again. He lets the smoke drift slowly out of his mouth and it encircles his head like an aura of whiteness. In this cloud, the man turns. The grinning face that greets the camera is that of Ichabod.
The feed on the camera stops. .
