¤ No matter what is said, the past does matter. If you forget your past, you are doomed to repeat it. The past has come to present for two unlucky men. ¤
The Porsche pulls under Ichabod's beach house all the way up to the golden sand. Wafer steps out wearing a pair of shades, a white shirt, and a chain. He walks up the ramps to the front door, but no one answers his knock. He walks around back and sees Ichabod applying a fresh coat of rustproof wax to his Monster. Ichabod has his shirt off and the ocassional passersby slow down to catch a glimpse of the two superstars. Wafer waves at a couple of blondes who deliberately stop and wade into the water right in front of the house. Ichabod notices them waving and looks up to see Wafer on his back deck. He throws the finishing touches on and then tosses the rag to the fans, who scrap over it. He looks up at Wafer and both men grin. Its good to be the best.
The two men walk inside and Ichabod pours Wafer an ice tea as he pulls out a beer for himself. They sit in the den on the leather sofas and switch on WOWtv. Nothing important is being said, so they flip it off and talk instead.
So I guess you saw the news reports yesterday. He's here.
Thugster, yeah, that kinda throws a wrench into the gears.
What do you mean. I left the thug on good terms.
Yeah, the last time i saw him we were fighting for a spot at the Mill Match. That was when Selena interfered and half the damn locker room came out to fight. You were there, remember?
Yeah, i cleared the ring as I remember, and you know why?
I have no idea . . .
I am--
awesome™. I know. Anyway I hope we are on good terms, because of that bitch Selena he didn't even get a shot at the Mill.
I've never had a Mill Match.
I think the Foxes and I are on good terms. I'll talk to Lambert and see what i can do.
Wafer gets up for a refill. Ichabod follows him to the kitchen to get another beer. As Ichabod pulls out the beer, Wafer speaks up.
Hey man, whats up with you and Ti, Apollyon, and Vex? I thought we agreed no stables.
Lets just say I have a special interest in the situation.
Is that why you asked Inga out a few weeks ago, heh heh.
Ichabod just smiles. The men walk outside. Wafer starts toward the Porsche, but Ichabod stops him.
Let's take my wheels
Won't the salty air mess up my paint job?
Ichabod presses a button on his remote. The area under the porsche descends and a door slides over it. The Foxes are not the only ones with toys. The men head to the truck.
Sand spins into the air high above the giant vehicle as Ichabod pulls out onto Beach Road. They pass the many students who were lucky enough to get out of their monotonous classes for their vacations. Living on the beach has the perk of not having to wait until summer time to enjoy the waves.Wafer wondered if Alison Abyss Fathom had ever come down here. As they cruise, the men reflect on their upcoming title match.
This is the moment we've been waiting for man. All those months past come up to this moment. Payne I have told you and told you that I am done with you, you aren't even worth my time. I came here looking for a challenge, a near god from the past with the ORS. What I found was the man that once left his friends and allies behind to join forces with the most hated man in wrestling today, Chris Conner. You are very predictable now. We all know you are untrustworthy. Hell I even know what you are going to say to all this-- "The past doesn't matter here..."
He says the past doesn't matter because he wants to forget it. Payne our past scares the sh't out of you. It sits in the back of your mind and silently waits just out of your vision, constantly serving as a subliminal reminder that I am better than you were, better than you ever will be, but most of all, that I am awesome™. And Tuesday, I will prove that to you one more time, when me and this redneck take that gold from off your shoulder.
Now Smokey, I'm sorry about your grandparents, I loved them alot. But this day was coming, the day when the two of us would step into the ring once again. Now it isn't one on one, but its a preview of the awesome show that we will give them one day, and on that day, I will take that world title from you, so you are going to hang onto it and keep it warm for me. Until then, I'll be satisfied to take those tag team titles off you as a little sample of what I will take from you in the not to distant future.
Smoke, the two of us have never met in the professional ring, but I have been itching for the chance to go around and around with you. I've admired you, empathized with you, modeled after you, and become better than you, in that order. I've waited patiently, always keeping an eye out for where you go, what you do, what you accomplish, so that no matter what, no matter how, I would be one step ahead of you. Now the day has come for me to show you what that revelation redneck from back then has become. Mostly, its a threat to your success. Prepare for the end Smokey, the days of that backyard UWA are long gone, so get your ass back here where it counts, or I'm going to steal that gold from under your nose with one vicious Bitch Thump.
The boys pull the truck into a Sonics and order two Orange Flurries. The waitress climbs up to the window and hands Ichabod the drinks, and after countin out his change, realizes who the men in the massive truck are. Her eyes widen and she runs back inside to the other female employees. Ichabod glances at Wafer quickly, and throws the truck into gear, spinning the eight foot tires as a flock of pubescent fans come running out of the Sonics.
