World Champion

Like twin silver leviathons or dragons, the two half mile bridges span the river. The winds whistle loudly through the girders and crossbeams of the Cooper River Bridge in Charleston, SC. Both roads sway inperceptibly to the average driver, but to "Ichabod" who stands on the top of the largest of the four massive towers, more than five hundred feet above the Cooper River, the swaying is obvious. He stands stoically, moving with the bridge in perfect balance. "Ichabod" looks toward Castle Pinckney and walks across the topmost beams of the tower.
Its so funny how Kris Starr gets on this kick about me making a fool of myself. Every sentence he utters during his promos adds to the public view of his lack of knowledge and grasp of reality. He faults me for backing out of his so called challenge at Ring Wars, when first it was he who couldn't meet my challenge. I merely wanted to give him a taste of the big leagues, I didn't really want that worthless piece of crap. I am a World Title Contender, what do I need with his little slice of the pie? Only the chance to say I've held it, thats all it would benefit me. But after backing out of my challenge he expects me to meet him on his terms at the most important event all month? I don't have time for that. I was going to have to face him on Ruffhouse either way, I figured why not raise the stakes since this may be his only chance to do something big. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for him, and he is throwing it away. He only wants a simple no rewards match. To say he beat Ichabod. Big deal, others have beaten Ichabod. But few have beaten him for gold.
Darren is making me take time out of my busy schedule to face a nobody like you, one time only. I won't let this crap happen again at Ring Wars, or ever, again. There is nothing I could do about Ruffhouse, but I'll know never to try and make another little guy bigger again, you ungrateful punk. You are right, I don't want to face you again. Its a waste of time, its boring. You only want things to happen if you are the one who denotes the time and place, which is usually fine, except that you won't take great opportunities when they come to you.

"Ichabod" and sits down on the top of the girder and looks out toward the sea. Hundreds of fishing boats line the harbor. He stretches, feeling an appreciating pop of his joints.
I know what the problem is, Kris. You are afraid you can't beat me. I'm not saying you can or you can't. But you know that if you put your title on the line at Ruffhouse there is a chance you will lose it, the one thing you have keeping you afloat in this world. You want to wait until Ring Wars because then you will already know me, my moves, my style. And if you beat me on Monday, you will know you can beat me. You want security in a title match before you commit to it, and thats really really weak. If you can't face a new challenge to the fullest, then you will never be anything. You need to learn to grab the bull by the horns and fight, because if not, you will always be the one who gets trampled in the end.
I see you trying to put on this calm enduring facade like you are the perfect Joe Wrestler, but its obvious to me that you are completely out of control of your destiny here in WOW. You really have nothing at all. You take what is given to you and nothing more. Part of earning titles is going and seeking them out, not sitting back and expecting them to come eventually. You can get nowhere without trying, Kris. I feel sorry for you, because you are a great wrestler and you are wasting your talent. God should have put your gift in more able hands, because you are making a mockery of the professional. There is a phrase I used to see on bumpers that went "Lead, Follow, or Get out of the Way." Its true, Kris. You can lead the competition, or you can be the one who follows it avidly seeking out your turn. Otherwise you can get the hell out of my way or be removed. The choice is yours as always, but if you aren't going to do anything worth mentioning around here, maybe you should just leave, turn your back on WOW and let them forget the you, because you are a disgrace to the term "Professional Wrestler."

A bridge technician at the base of one of the towers spots "Ichabod" with his binoculars. He gets on his megaphone and yells up to him to ask him to get down. "Ichabod" doesn't budge, and the technician gets on his walkie talkie to radio the authorities...
