It's been a while I know, but what with the PWA under new management and everything that's been going on recently backstage alot of my time has been spent elsewhere. But fear not I am now back with a new look. Rather than talk continually the Max Dickens report will now be broken into sections, allowing you to understand different issues.
With that let's get started.
Showdown
The first leg of Matt Hunt's European Tour kicked off from the M.E.N Arena in Manchester. Now despite the sell out crowd of around 20,000 people the final ratings peaked at aronud 5.2. This is good but not as good as the previous week when the ratings where around 5.5. A possible cause for this could be the late night allocated slot allocated to us by Sky television. But disucssions are currently planned for early next week to get this issued resolved. The Showdown card itself was entertaining to watch and the Matt Hunt, Ben Hart, LoZ situation looks set to lead into something memorable at the International Incident pay per view event. I am very pleased with the way 3en 3rians and James Lord have been asserting themselves recently under the monikor of the Nu Blud faction. I can only see bigger and better things in their futures. I was a little taken back by the odd promo that was aired mid way through the show. A modified voice speaking to a backing tune, I believe it was a Marliyn Manson track. It will be interesting to see who or what that turns out to be.
New Signings
Whilst the PWA began its European Tour the talent scouts have been out in force searching every continent for new talent. Its obvious the current PWA roster lacks depth and this is an issue PWA Owner Matt Hunt is keen to address and I have first hand knowledge that he has sent some of his best agents on a mission to return with new talent. I've heard a copule of names mentioned in recent days such as '2 Fine' Rick Devine, Omega and Vin. Of course all of this is purely speculation and until we get confirmation of any interested parties it would be best not to look to far into this.
Injuries
Of course any injuries to the current PWA roster might give the PWA creative team alot of thinking to do, I am happy to return that despite a few wrestlers having a few bumps and bruises there isn't anyone who is doubtful as the PWA moves onto its second leg of the European tour.
At this present time the PWA roster only consists of 10 maybe 12 wrestlers. Now given what happened when Jake Hanlon sold his stake of the PWA and the mass exodus of talent either to pastures new or the independent scene, PWA Matt Hunt was keen to reassure the wrestlers to stayed that their decisions for doing so would be rewarded. That promise has been fulfilled as we are seeing more and more fringe wrestlers been given more allocated television time in the hope they will seize their chance. As for Championships in the Main Event picture there is only really Ben Hart seen as the main contender to LoZ's world title, so expect to see a few guys being moved up. Most other divisions are strong but the lack of talent will limit each Champion to a number of challengers. Having spoken to Matt Hunt earlier in the week I can tell you that something big is planned in the upcoming weeks regarding the title situation but unfortunately I can't go into anymore details. All I can say is sit tight and be patient.
International Incident
The next PWA pay per view is scheduled for the 28th July. As of yet no matches have been officially signed but going off what we saw when Matt Hunt, Ben Hart and LoZ where in the ring, don't rule out the possibility of seeing something transpired between those three. There are a lot of young guys in the PWA at the moment, some of whom where present at Fatal Freedom but didn't really have the chance to shine. I can confirm that every single memeber of the PWA roster will be involved at International Incident in some capacity or another. I should have more details in the coming weeks.
