A funny segment, as Dillon gets lost in the wilderness after Mulligan fires a shot in the air. BARRY WINDHAM v RON BASS- legendary angle where Barry puts the Florida title up vs a saddle Dusty's Mom gave Bass (Barry has deemed Bass unworthy of the gift). Barry wins, but Bass and One Man Gang take Barry for a humiliating ride around the ring, wearing the saddle. Barry then returns as the "Dirty Yellow Dog"- does that sound familiar? TAPE #763 FLORIDA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING vol. 3 (FAIR Q) 4HRS 6MIN
Matches are from 1984-1985
1. DUSTY RHODES v KEVIN SULLIVAN- Sullivan does commentary for this taped match, and he talks about the "bad karma" that Sullivan has put on "Dusty's house" (?).
2. DUSTY RHODES is taken out on a stretcher, courtesy of Sullivan's "golden spike".
3. KEVIN SULLIVAN summons his disciple, Purple Haze (Mark Lewin), from the bottom of the ocean.
4. KEVIN SULLIVAN v MIKE ROTONDO- Mike takes a hard chair shot to the head.
5. DUSTY RHODES v PURPLE HAZE- Sullivan runs in with the spike, but Blackjack Mulligan runs into his path, taking the stab himself, and is taken out on a stretcher.
6. BARRY WINDHAM & MIKE ROTONDO v CHAVO & HECTOR GUERRERO- Dick Slater gives Barry a neckbreaker.
7. DUSTY RHODES v ONE MAN GANG- OMG accidentally splashed his manager Sir Oliver Humperdink, and takes a beating from his stablemates as a result. Great clip shown of Oliver throwing OMG's clothes and belongings into the hallway outside the dressing room. Rhodes later invites OMG to join his "family". I would rather be an orphan, but OMG accepts.
8. CLIPS OF KEVIN SULLIVAN'S WILD RING ENTRANCE- he's draped in snakes, has an large entourage with him, including Woman, who wears chains and an S & M outfit.
9. OMG & BJ MULLIGAN v RON BASS & BLACK BART
10. DORY FUNK JR v MIKE ROTONDO- Dory was a very underrated heel- he plays the "sneaky coward" role perfectly.
11. MIKE DAVIS v DENNY BROWN- in one of the most unique and bizarre wrestling angles ever, Davis is billed as "The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes"!! He looks, wrestles, and sounds exactly like Dusty! Sullivan then claims that this is the real Dusty Rhodes, and the man Florida fans have been watching for ten years is an imposter named Virgil Runnels!
12. RIC FLAIR v SCOTT McGHEE- Flair does his pre-match interview talking about every other wrestler in Florida other than his opponent, and guess what- a major upset, as McGhee pins Flair in the non-title match.
13. ONE MAN GANG v RON BASS- ends up in an out of the ring brawl, with Pez Whatley and Black Bart involved.
14. BILLY JACK HAYNES v THE SAINT- Dory Funk puts a leather whip to Haynes after the match.
15. BILLY JACK HAYNES v BLACK BART- Dory gives Bart a foreign object, but Haynes takes it away. He then puts the full-nelson on Bart, refusing to let him go until he squealson Funk.
16. RON BASS v SCOTT McGHEE- Scott wins in 4 seconds- I guess they really wanted to push this guy!
17. KEVIN SULLIVAN v BLACKJACK MULLIGAN- a WILD brawl- after another classic Sullivan ring entrance, all hell breaks loose as they brawl outside the ring. Sullivan throws a live snake at Mulligan, then Kevin's unholy crew try to hang Mulligan with an authentic noose!
18. DORY FUNK JR challenges Billy Jack to a match, knowing full well he's not in the building. Mike Graham comes to Haynes' defense, and challenges Funk. Funk refuses until the two exchange some hard slaps- a great, realistic angle.
19. DORY FUNK JR v MIKE GRAHAM- match goes to a time-limit draw, but they keep brawling until Jesse Barr sides with Funk, and attacks Graham. Barr then roughs up commentators Gordon Solie and Buddy Colt to cement his heel turn.
20. KEVIN SULLIVAN & SUPERSTAR GRAHAM v ONE MAN GANG & JOE LIGHTFOOT- Mulligan charges the ring when he discovers that Kevin has "beaten and injured" one of his disciples, a young lady named Cindy Lou, who happened to be a next door neighbor of the Windhams in Texas. Ugh.
21. A KEVIN SULLIVAN & SUPERSTAR GRAHAM SQUASH- really weird booking as Kendall Windham gives Cindy Lou a rag doll, and asks her if she "remembers"- she breaks down in his arms, so Sullivan punches her! Graham then breaks ranks and makes the save, but he's hung in the ropes by Sullivan and Humperdink- hey, something to offend everyone!
22. SCOTT McGHEE v JESSE BARR- Funk and Barr tar and feather McGhee, who they call a "Florida Chicken".
23. HARLEY RACE & MIKE GRAHAM v DORY FUNK JR & JESSE BARR- a man in a chicken suit taunts the heels.
24. SCOTT McGHEE v JESSE BARR- Barr wins the Florida title in a two out of three fall match.
25. SUPERSTAR GRAHAM v JESSE BARR- Barr destroys Graham, sending him packing to the Carolinas. They're trying to push Barr as the lead heel, but he has no charisma.
26. MICHAEL HAYES gives Gordon Solie a briefcase for Christmas, and The Saint and Krusher Krushev destroy it.
27. BRIAN BLAIR v KILLER KHAN- Barr is suppposed to face Blair, but his arm is in a sling. Guess what happens next.
28. MICHAEL HAYES v JOSE MEDINA- Niedhart, Krushev, and The Saint attack Hayes and try to cut his hair until the Youngbloods make the save. Buddy Roberts then arrives, telling Hayes he was late due to a hangover. I beleive it. Hayes, Roberts, and Dutch Mantell then attack the heels in the dressing room.
