(Note: The GNL is running on a new system. We have made a bunch of changes, especially in terms of card writing, and, at this point, our new system isn't 100% efficient. Please bare with us if the results are late at any time. We'll try to improve the system in the near future)
Winning:
As mentioned in the rules, I consider 4 things when deciding matches: Roleplays, angles/storylines, interference, and strategy. Here, I'm gonna explain how these things work, and a few tips to increase your chances of winning.
Roleplays: Each RP (roleplay) must be at least 15 lines, and your must RP at least once every 2 weeks. If your RP is less than 15 lines it won't be counted, and if you go 2 weeks with out an RP that is at least 15 lines you will be fired immediately. Warnings will be posted on the Newsboard.
Winning isn't determined by how long your RP is. It's determined by how good it is. In other words: You win matches based on Quality, not Quantity. However, there are some cases where quantity will win out over quality. For example, several good RPs can win out over one that is slightly better.Match Strategy: This is a new feature in the GNL. Basically you use the match strategy forms to tell what strategy your wrestler is gonna use in his next match, such as a list of moves he/she will use in the match, whether or not he/she will cheat and how, and/or a particular spot you would like to do in the match. For example, if Freak somehow injured his knee and you have a match coming up with him on NeXtasy, before the strat deadline you would send in a list of moves that do damage to his knee, like the figure four or something like that. Or if Freak wants to give someone the Last Act off the entrance stage through a flaming table, he would send that in on the strategy form. In very close matches, strategies will be the deciding factor. You are only allowed to send in 1 strategy per match!!!!!!
Interference: Interferences will work the same way they always have in the NFWA. Just because you send in an interference doesn't mean that it will work out the way that you planned it. It all depends on how the person you're attacking roleplays. $300 fine is still on interferences to keep people from going overboard with them, and just to make sure that people don't send in pointless interferences, you must have a reason to attack someone on the card (And don't have someone interfere in your match cuz you got out RPed).
Angles/Storylines:
The "submit an angle" is basically how you want your wrestler(s) to be used during the shows. Send anything that doesn't have anything directly to do with a match (such as a backstage attack or a kidnapping angle) on this form. Not too much else to say about this. Make sure that you inform The CEO of EVERY angle that you are planning.Winning Tips:
RP Tips:
While role-plays are used to determine the winners/losers in matches, that is not its main purpose. The primary goal of RPing is to get your wrestler(s) character (or gimmick) over in the fed. In other words, you should spend more time promoting your wrestler than badmouthing someone elses. Therefore, your RPs should be much more than just telling somebody how much they suck, or how much you're gonna kick someone's ass. I'm not saying don't talk about your opponents, because if you don't you'll lose, but try to bring your character to life. Tell a story. You know what I mean? (If not, screw you, lol) Creating a scene helps to do this. Describe what's going on around your wrestler. If you're in the arena, visualize what you see on RAW every week. The signs in the crowd, the fans chanting and include all of that stuff in there. Include your wrestlers entrance attire, maybe throw in an Arena name or 2. You know. Catchphrases are also a good way to get your character across. If you're creative and can come up with some of your own, that's great. If you're not creative, and you take someone else's, as long as it helps to build your character, that's good. Nicknames are always good too (as long as they don't contain the words "Champion of Champions"! That name is taken!)Don't try to force length: Every RP doesn't have to be 150+ lines. Don't worry about making your RPs long, cuz when you try to make your RP long, they usually end up turning out bad and boring, I know from experience. Basically, just include what you wanna include, and if you don't have anything else to say then you should end the RP.
Limit your RPs: The new 4 RP rule should keep this kinda thing down, but I'm just wanna go on record and say this. There's no reason on earth that I can think of for someone to do 4 100-line RPs back to back within a span of 3 hours. I want you guys to RP and I want you to RP frequently, but on Monday and Thursday nights when I'm trying to judge all of the RPs, I don't wanna see your name on the board 15 times for 1 match. That's a lot of reading, and 9 times out of 10 you're just finding a different way to say what you said in the previous RP. That's one of the main causes in late results. Just remember: QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY WINS! Don't worry about how many roleplays your opponent posts. Just make sure that when you do RP, that your RP is good enough to beat his. The same thing I said about forced length applies here. If you don't have anything new to say, don't RP.
Don't write 4 RPs and post them right before the DL: That's just trifling!
For those of you with more than one wrestler: One thing I hate about people who own more than 1 wrestler is that they can do RPs more both guys and they will sound exactly alike. That's not good. 2 wrestlers should have 2 different identities. Best thing I can say here is that your characters should be developed so that you could do 2 separate RPs and people have trouble telling that you control them both. Tag Teams are a little different, cuz both wrestlers have the same goal, but still they should have some NOTICABLE differences other than name.
Keep your RPs consistent with cards and storylines: What I'm saying here is that if you get your leg ripped off in one card, don't turn right around and post an RP where you're doing the Riverdance. If you're injured on a card, sell the injury, and find someway to use it to promote yourself in your next match, or further a feud. If someone writes in an angle and you're not gonna follow it, then there's really no point of having angles. I can't think of a better way to say this right now, so I'll move on.
Angles: I don't have a problem writing a storyline for anyone, or including you in backstage segments to get you more involved with the fed, but remember, it's up to you how you're character is controlled. The less work I have to do to get your wrestler over, the better your wrestler will do in the fed. Send in angles on the form, post little rumors on the Newsboard if it'll help, but don't forget to USE YOUR RPS to get people interested in your angles! I don't care what I write on the card, if you're not talking about your angle, no one else will care.
Use Paragraphs: I'm gonna be straight with you: I don't have the best attention span in the World. Just so you know, I'm more likely to read an RP broken up into segments than I am to read an RP written in a straight block. That's all for now.
There are gonna be run a little bit differently than it has in the past. The following is the list of NFWA staff jobs and job descriptions:
CEO: That's me. I decide the matches, maintain the site, assist in card writing, and choose who is or isn't accepted into the GNL. If any of staff members are unable to do his/her job, I will do it (if I have the time).
Prez: The Prez assists in card writing, has the power to sign matches, makes the tour dates for GNL shows, and has the power to create or retire a title.
Commish: Basically a card writer with the power to sign matches. Also in charge of handling the GNL rankings.
Prez of the Discipline Committee: If you're the head of the Discipline Committee, it's your job to hand out fines, either the $300 for interference or if one of the wrestlers breaks a rule. You're also allowed to suspend someone (only if the CEO agrees).
Card Writers:
What do you think you're supposed to do?! You write the damn matches, fools! Geez! Anyway, here's how the card writing system is gonna work:There are a maximum of 6 matches on TV shows, and 8 for PPVs. There are 3 assigned card writers. For the TV shows (Karnage and NeXtasy) each writer will write 2 matches. When there are 8 matches on the PPVs, the commish will write the 2 additional matches. The Booker will be responsible for writing the non-wrestling segments on the GNL shows (backstage stuff and crap like that).
For each card, I will send you a report letting you know who's writing what match, who wins and any angles that take place throughout the show. This way, we'll hopefully be able to get the cards posted faster than we were in the past.
****BTW: If for any reason you're unable to write matches, please let me know ASAP, preferably before the RP Deadline. In the storylines, the Universal Title is controlled by the World Counsel of Wrestling. It is an interfed title, meaning it can be defended in the NFWA or the GNL (perhaps in other non-NFWA Productions, Inc. controlled feds in the near future). The requirements for a Universal Title shot are the same as for the NFWA World Title. You must be in the top 5 of the NFWA Rankings or be an NFWA Champion. There may be other Universal Titles added in the future (Tag Team, Extreme, Light Heavyweight) depending on the success of the original.
THAT'S ALL FOR NOW!!!!!! YOU MAY ROLEPLAY!!!!!!!!!
