February - April 1990
DEMOLITION AXE vs HAKU
AL PEREZ vs TERRY TAYLOR- Perez makes his TV debut, going to a DCOR vs Taylor in a pretty good match.
RICK RUDE vs RONNIE GARVIN
THE GENIUS vs KOKO WARE- Ware has blond hair and hair paint.
POWERS OF PAIN vs BUSHWACKERS
MR. FUJI "sells" Warlord to Slick & Barbarian to Heenan
HULK HOGAN vs DINO BRAVO- Earthquake runs in for the DQ, but Ultimate Warrior makes the save. Hogan and Warrior almost get into a brawl.
RICK MARTEL vs TERRY TAYLOR from Madison Square Garden.
TITO SANTANA vs AL PEREZ- good match
BRET HART vs DINO BRAVO, from MSG. Match goes to a draw.
TED DIBIASE vs TERRY TAYLOR- I bet Taylor wishes it were 1985 again- he gets put out by Dibiase's "Million Dollar Dream", and has dollar bills stuffed in his mouth, just like any other jobber. Yes, I'm still bitter about this.
RANDY SAVAGE vs DUSTY RHODES- Both Savage and Sherri take every bump in the book for Dusty and Sapphire.
THE EARTHQUAKE vs RONNIE GARVIN- Garvin does a stretcher job.
ANDRE THE GIANT & HAKU vs THE ROCKERS- Andre is slaughtering the smaller Rockers, so Demolition runs in.
RICK RUDE issues a challenge to new WWF champ Ultimate Warrior
GREG VALENTINE & HONKYTONK MAN debut their "Rhythm & Blues" tag team gimmick. Valentine looks like Roy Orbison after dying his hair jet black.
RANDY SAVAGE & SHERRI sneak attack Dusty & Sapphire. After Dusty gets KOed, they try to make Sapphire kiss Randy's feet.
DEMOLITION vs NIKOLAI VOLKOFF & BORIS ZHUKOV- The Russians argue throughout the match.
BAD NEWS BROWN flips after being given a rubber snake. Funny how this was a common theme amongst all the WWF's black wrestlers.
AKEEM vs TITO SANTANA- Tito gets a countout win.
**HULK HOGAN vs MR. PERFECT- good match, Hogan gets a pin, then destroys The Genius after the match.
**THE EARTHQUAKE vs HILLBILLY JIM- another one of Quake's opponents go out on a stretcher.
**HART FOUNDATION vs THE ROCKERS- Demolition comes to the ring to observe, but it ends up with the three babyface teams pounding on each other.
**ULTIMATE WARRIOR vs HAKU- the new champ gets a clean pin
November - December 1990
BRET HART v HONKYTONK MAN- Bret gets a clean pin.
KERRY VON ERICH v DEMOLITION SMASH- Mr. Perfect and the two other Demos attack Kerry, but the Ultimate Warrior & Legion of Doom even the sides, setting off an 8-man brawl. Isn't it weird how there's always an 8-man brawl right before the Survivor Series.
ULTIMATE WARRIOR v TED DIBIASE, from the 11/23/90 NBC prime-time special. "Macho King" Randy Savage runs in and destroys Warrior with his scepter.
SGT. SLAUGHTER v NIKOLAI VOLKOFF, from the NBC special. Match never gets started, as Sarge destroys Nik before the bell. Hacksaw Duggan makes the save.
MR. PERFECT v BIG BOSSMAN, from the NBC special. Bossman gets counted out while chasing Heenan to the dressing room. Heenan is really funny here.
BUDDY ROSE does a hilarious mock commercial for the "Blow Away" diet.
RICK MARTEL v TITO SANTANA- really good match, Martel gets a submission victory.
THE ORIENT EXPRESS v THE BUSHWHACKERS- what was I thinking, keeping this junk?
HART FOUNDATION v GREG VALENTINE & HONKYTONK MAN, from MSG.
TITO SANTANA v THE WARLORD from London, Ontario. I guess Tito's now officially a jobber.
DEMOLITION v THE BUSHWHACKERS- The Bushwhackers are the worst team ever.
TED DIBIASE AND VIRGIL give Dustin Rhodes a beating on the set of The Brother Love show.
JIMMY SNUKA v DINO BRAVO- eecchh.
KERRY VON ERICH v MR. PERFECT- Ted Dibiase bribes ring announcer Howard Finkel and takes his place, then interferes in the match, costing Kerry the Intercontinental title.
HULK HOGAN v THE EARTHQUAKE, clips from Boston, 12/8/90. Hogan is counted out.
THE WARLORD v TUGBOAT- I **had to** keep this match! So bad, it's funny.
TONY ATLAS v BARBARIAN- Atlas does his "Saba Simba" gimmick, one of the worst ever.
JIMMY SNUKA v HAKU- what the hell was wrong with me, keeping these awful matches?
NEW WWF CHAMP SGT SLAUGHTER does an interview, wearing a Saddam Hussien turban.
NASTY BOYS v SCOTT WILLIAMS & BOBBY JONES- The Nasties makes their WWF debut.
MSG- JIMMY SNUKA v THE WARLORD- this is getting to be a bit much...
MSG- THE ROCKERS v HERCULES & PAUL ROMA- pretty good match.
MSG- GREG VALENTINE v TONY ATLAS- Jimmy Hart accidentally breaks a guitar over Valentine's head, prompting Greg's meaningful (ahem) babyface turn.
MSG- HULK HOGAN & TUGBOAT v EARTHQUAKE & DINO BRAVO- Hulk gets the pin, then Hart blinds him with powder, and Quake works him over with a chair, and Hulk is stretchered out!
February - March 91
A TAG TEAM BATTLE ROYAL- The Nasty Boys eliminate The Road Warriors to win.
PAUL BEARER is introduced as The Undertaker's manager on The Brother Love Show.
THE MARINER attacks Rick Martel after a squash. The Mariner was supposed to later be revealed as Brutus Beefcake, but the WWF dropped the angle.
FULL-NELSON CHALLENGE: BRITISH BULLDOG v THE WARLORD- Slick distracts Davey, allowing Warlord to sneak attack him first, then clamp the full-nelson on.
BIG BOSSMAN v THE BARBARIAN
SHAWN MICHAELS v DEMOLITION CRUSH- Marty Janetty interferes for a Michaels win.
VIRGIL v HAKU- not bad, thanks to the ringside antics of Roddy Piper and Ted Dibiase.
SGT. SLAUGHTER destroys a jobber. When the stretcher is called for, Sarge beats up the EMT!!
GREG VALENTINE v DINO BRAVO- The Earthquake runs in and pulverizes Valentine. The Mariner makes the save. Mariner uses a headbutt, his victims act like they've been shot.
TED DIBIASE v TUGBOAT
ULTIMATE WARRIOR destroys the set of "The Brother Love Show", then destroys Brother Love himself. This was the last we saw of BL, ending his run as a Pit-like segment host.
THE MARINER once again attacks Earthquake, laying him out with headbutts.
GREG VALENTINE v THE BARBARIAN
MR. PERFECT v JIMMY SNUKA- funny to see Snuka jobbing, considering that he was a legend in the WWF. Come to think of it, they did the same thing to Chief Jay Strongbow, who is very comparable to Snuka. Strongbow was the popular non- champ of the 70's, and Snuka wore those shoes in the 80's. In the 80's, Jay was a glorified jobber, and in the 90's, so was Snuka.
A FUNNY CONFRONTATION between Big Bossman and Bobby Heenan on the new PTW set. Bossman's mother shows up and beats Heenan's head with her purse!
RANDY SAVAGE does a carrer retrospective on PTW, showing angles and clips from 1985 - 1991. Remember those rididculous "bodybuilding leisure suits" McMahon used to wear on that show?
BRITISH BULLDOG v HAKU
DEMOLITION v TITO SANTANA & KOKO WARE
THE EARTHQUAKE attacks Valentine again, and The Mariner again makes the save.
MR. PERFECT v SHAWN MICHAELS- good match, 3 1/2 ***.
RANDY SAVAGE & ULTIMATE WARRIOR sign the contract for their upcoming retirement match.
BLINDFOLD MATCH: RICK MARTEL v KOKO WARE- Martel jumps the blindfolded Koko before the blindfold is put on Rick. They finally get the blindfold on Martel, and the match dies.
HULK HOGAN v GENERAL ADNAN- Adnan is better known as Shiek Adnan El-Kaissie, and looks like he's 60 years old. Sgt. Slaughter runs in to pound on Hogan, and "buries" him in the Iraqi flag. No war exploitation here, folks.
BRET HART v BRIAN KNOBBS of the Nasty Boys. 3 ***.
THE UNDERTAKER v TUGBOAT. Nice to see the talentless Tugboat get squashed.
THE MARINER once again attacks The Earthquake. I didn't even remember the Mariner angle until I reviewed this tape. Brutus uses his steel-plated face to KO Earthquake.
JAKE ROBERTS v KATO (Paul Diamond)- Jake returns after his "blindness" angle.
(MSG 3/14/91) MARTY JANNETTY v PAT TANAKA- not as good as I had hoped, still 3 ***.
(MSG 3/14/91)- BRITISH BULLDOG v THE WARLORD- what a wonderful feud this was.
(MSG 3/14/91)- THE UNDERTAKER v TUGBOAT- Nice to see the talentless Tugboat get... sorry about that.
(MSG 3/14/91)- HART FOUNDATION v THE EARTHQUAKE & DINO BRAVO.
(MSG 3/14/91)- TED DIBIASE v KERRY VON ERICH- Virgil acts as Kerry's second.
(MSG 3/14/91)- SHAWN MICHAELS v KATO (Paul Diamond). Excellent match, 3 3/4 ***.
March - May 1991
SGT. SLAUGHTER v HACKSAW DUGGAN from MSG, 3/14/91- Sarge defends the WWF title, Duggan has Hulk Hogan in his corner.
INTERVIEW WITH THE REUNITED RANDY SAVAGE AND ELIZABETH.
COL. MUSTAFA v BILLY BURT- Mustafa is the Iron Shiek, returning to the WWF as part of Sgt. Slaughter's entourage. Ironic, as Slaughter and Shiek had a legendary feud
FOOTAGE OF SGT SLAUGHTER burning Hulk Hogan's face with a fireball!
RICKY STEAMBOAT v BROOKLYN BRAWLER- Steamboat returns to the WWF.
ANDRE THE GIANT shakes up Bobby Heenan, ending his 4-year relationship with him.
TED DIBIASE INTRODUCES Sherri Martel as his new valet.
DEMOILTION CRUSH v BUSHWHACKER BUTCH
BIG BOSSMAN v RICK MARTEL- The Mountie harasses Bossman from ringside.
ULTIMATE WARRIOR is interviewed in "The Funeral Parlor"- as Warrior roughs up Paul Bearer, Undertaker pops out of a casket, beats up the Warrior, and locks him in an air-tight casket! The WWF officials do a good panic act, using a crowbar and drilling holes in the casket. They get it open, and actually administer mouth to mouth and CPR on the Warrior
ROAD WARRIORS v BARBARIAN & HAKU
THE ROCKERS v HERCULES & PAUL ROMA.
BRUTUS BEFECAKE interviewed on Prime Time, discussing his accident and it's aftermath.
JAKE ROBERTS v THE EARTHQUAKE- Quake ties Jake up in the ropes, then squashes Jake's snake "Damien" (not really, of course). Hardcore angle number two...
ULTIMATE WARRIOR v RICK MARTEL- sad to see the talented Martel without a push.
(SNME)- ULTIMATE WARRIOR v SGT. SLAUGHTER- Paul Bearer wheels The Undertaker to ringside in a casket. Undertaker runs in, and Hulk Hogan makes the save.
(SNME)- NASTY BOYS v THE BUSHWHACKERS
(SNME)- A BATTLE ROYAL, won by Mr. Perfect- pretty good by Battle Royal standards.
