Notes: Well, I got an email from someone demanding some Shane action and he just had to make an appearance.

"So," Shane asked Kat as he took off his baseball cap in the privacy of their bedroom, "how does it look?"
Looking up from the bed where she was checking out the new clothes she'd bought for Nadine, Kat's smile spread wider and wider until her jaw hurt, "Oh wow… I'm going to have to run out and do the same thing… it looks… wow…"
"Really? I wasn't too sure of it. I kept looking in the mirror and checking myself out… it looks like me but not like me, you know?"
"Oh but trust me, it is a good look for you… a very good look."
Kat put down the small overalls and walked over to Shane, running her fingers to his back to all brown mane of hair. That very morning, he'd woken up and decided that Shane McMahon with grey hair wasn't the real Shane McMahon. He'd grabbed the phone book and had started going through a list of colorists, using the McMahon name until he found one willing to cancel their morning appointments to rejuvenate him.
"You look even better than when we first met," Kat said, cupping his face in her hands, "young, cocky… hot… maybe I should do the same."
"I like the white in your hair… makes a great contrast."
"Makes me look older than you."
"I'm sure I could call my colorist and she could work something out for you."
"I don't know Shane."
"Come on… give in Kat… you'll love it."

"I love it," Kat giggled as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. She still had white hair mixed with her jet black locks but the white was in thick strands that made her mane look closer to silver than anything else.
"I adore it. baby, I have to say this… you have never looked so good."
"You really think so?"
"I know so… you look… so… you look like one of those sexy aliens from the original Star Trek."
"Be careful Shane, your nerdiness is showing."
"Maybe. but Captain Kirk wishes he could have gotten it on with you. I mean, your body is tight! Like before you ever got pregnant and for a forty-two year old who never went under the knife… you look like you should be in Sports Illustrated or Playboy."
"And you don't think you're the least bit biased?"
"Only by truth and the facts."
Kat turned around in her husband's arms and kissed him as hard as she could until they both fell to the ground, groping each other like apair of teenagers. Just then, their soon-to-be teenagers walked into their room, without knocking, as always.
"Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww, parental fornication rituals," Alex said, wrinkling her nose in disgust, "cease and desist! Cease and desist!"
"Hey!" Shane asked, not feeling up to rolling off his wife, "aren't the the two of you supposed to knock before barging in here?"
"When it was ok for the two of you to get it on in the middle of the day, knocking was required but Mom's over forty now Dad. I mean, you guys shouldn't be doing anything like that during the day."
"I will have you know that your mother is as hot now as she ever was and- am I arguing with you about when to make love to my wife?"
"Ewww, shut up, shut up, shut up! Uncle Paul and Aunt Stephanie are younger than you and not half as gross."
"I will have the two of you know that your uncle Paul is older than your father. And get out!"
"But we have something to tell you."
"You can tell us later. We're busy right now."
"Busy," Alex scoffed with a shrug so like her mother's it was almost frightening, "I just want the both of you know that I don't want another kid running around here creating more chaos than Nad."
"Out!" Shane growled.
"Unless you guys want to even things out with another boy," Josh added, "or maybe a set of twin boys so I can teach them how to-"
"Both of you, get out otherwise I'm going to whoop both of your asses until they bleed," Kat said, staring down her rebellious would-be teenagers.
"Geez, take a chill pill Mom," Josh said, "we just want some quality time with our parents. Not our fault you're too hor-"
"Finish that sentence and you get your TV privileges suspended buster."
"But…"
Alex stepped forward and slapped her hand over her brother's mouth, shaking her head, "He's simple," she explained, "pretty, but simple."
Shane looked down at his wife as his eldest daughter dragged her brother out of their room, "We've been far too easy on them," he said, "we need them to be more disciplined. run this house more like a boot camp. I'll be the top dog and you can be my aide de camp, shape their little asses up!"
"Shane, Josh was right. I am horny… you think I want to think about the spawns of Satan we raised to atone for our sins or about… other things?"
Shane might have his simple moments but there was no mistaking the meaning behind his wife's words. He leaned down and nuzzled her neck in that magical spot that still got her all tingly, even over fifteen years after he'd initially discovered it. She bucked up, her hips bumping into his and staying up as she ground her body into his, her intentions clear.

"OK, no… stop that right now!" Stephanie said, making a face as she came into her brother's office and finding him pressing his wife against the wall, her leg casually wrapped around his hip as she kissed him.
"Why should we?" Kat asked, blinking at her sister-in-law since Shane's kiss had left her vision a little blurry.
"Because you guys are too old to be making out like this!"
"Have you been talking to Alex?"
"Why? Does she agree with me?"
"A little too much."
"Well, the kid's smart!"
"Anything we can do for you?" Shane asked his sister, still not moving away from his wife.
"Assume a decent position."
Chuckling, Shane winked at Kat as he hooked her other leg over his other hip, "Anything else?"
"Gross. Mom and Dad want you in a meeting… succession and whatnot and… what the fuck did the two of you do to your hair?" Stephanie asked, pointing at Kat and Shane's heads.
"You like?"
"I… the two of you are nuts."
"Proudly so," Kat quipped, moving away from Shane to straighten up her suit and her hair.
As she looked at her reflection in the mirror, she smiled. When she'd first met Shane, almost twenty years ago, there was no way she could have predicted falling in love with him, much less being the mother of his three children and standing by his side as he stepped up to his new role as the Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment. She not only looked the part in a very nice and professional pant suit but she felt the part. Her role as director of programming and special events mixed well with her new role as commentator for RAW, the company's long-standing Monday night staple. And her newly colored hair pulled in a very professional chignon at the back of her head suited her to a T.
"Are you done primping?" Shane asked, stepping into the small bathroom behind her.
"Just thinking."
"About?"
"How far we've come… how much I love you… our new roles in life…"
"You ready to take on this new challenge?"
"You bet. You?"
"Couldn't have done it without you."

In the conference room, Vince stood by the window overlooking Stamford, his hands clasped behind him. This morning, it had hit him. this would be the last time he would walk into this building as the chairman. In a few minutes, he was going to hand over the reigns to his son. Now, he didn't doubt that Shane would rise to the challenge but a big part of Vince didn't want to admit that he couldn't do this anymore.
"I think you forgot this in your office," Linda said, joining him, his cane in her hand. "Vince, pretending you don't need this doesn't mean you need it any less."
"I know. But I feel fine. I can walk without it."
"That's why you're sweating like a stuck pig?" With a motherly tsk, Linda reached up and patted her husband's sweaty face with a tissue.
The debilitating stroke Vince had suffered last year had reduced his motor skills and he needed a cane to get around. In his mind, he knew he needed the cane, the relief it brought him was undeniable. But it also meant swallowing his pride and Vincent Kennedy McMahon was nowhere near ready to do that. "Come and sit down," Linda said, pulling him into a chair.
"Thank you."
Linda gently led her husband to the seat he would soon be relinquishing to his son. Even after the stroke, Vince walked tall and proud, he just couldn't walk for very long without wincing in pain. Linda was sitting down next to her husband when Shane, Stephanie, Kat and Paul strode into the conference room. Vince looked at his children, staring pointedly at Shane and Kat's heads.
"Who do the two of you think you are? Jeff Hardy? What did you do to your hair?"
"You don't like it?" Kat asked saucily, bending down to peck her father-in-law's cheek.
"Mmmmm, this is supposed to be a solemn occasion."
"My tattoo isn't showing, is it?"
Kat winked at Linda as she sat down next to her, patting her mother-in-law's hand.
"I like it Vince, shows Shane and Kat can appeal to a wider demographic range."
"It shows nothing of the sort. just that they can buy hair dye."
"God old man, hand the reins over to me already so I don't have to deal with your temper anymore."
"You little…"
"Hi Daddy," Stephanie said, pecking her father's cheek. "Pay no attention to Shane. He's still an ass."
"I try not to. Paul."
"Vince. Linda."
Shane and Kat exchanged a look over the coldness between Paul and the eldest McMahons. Since his marriage to Steph, Paul'd been trying to outdo Vince in terms of extramarital affairs and both Vince and Linda had been content to follow their daughter's lead and pretend to ignore his lack of faithfulness but when four of his conquests had shown up on their doorstep, forming a united front and demanding an allowance for the children he'd had with them, pretending Paul was faithful became impossible. The incident had ended nastily with Vince and Linda threatening to cut out Stephanie if she didn't leave Paul.
The billion-dollar princess had stood by her man, but Paul's relationship with his in-laws had greatly suffered from it.
"Shall I get the lawyers in here?" Shane asked, getting halfway out of his chair.
"Not yet. I have a few things to say first. When I originally took this company over from my father Shane, you were just a little boy but I knew that one day, you would take over for me. And today, you will take over for me, and I know that you are ready for it. For the last year I've watched you step up to the plate and everything the business throws your way, you handle with aplomb and style. You did really good son."
"Thanks Vin- I mean Dad."
"Stephanie, I am not like your father and let's be honest, I didn't prepare a speech. You'll do great at this job and if you don't, I'll come out of retirement to take it back."
"Hey, if you leave me, who'll be my nurse?"
"I think Nicole Bass is still looking for employment," Linda said with a thoughtful look.
Everyone shuddered at that thought.
"Shane, let's bring the lawyers in and do this thing."

Shane stood on the threshold of his father's, no his office, and sighed. He'd signed the papers, had taken over the role of chairman but right now, knowing that by tomorrow morning, his desk would be the one in the office, that he would meet with decorators to redo the room, that he would follow the dreams of his father and of his grandfather from this office.
"Are you afraid to go in?" Kat asked Shane as she came up behind him.
"A little."
"You have been in here before."
"Not as Shane McMahon, chairman of the board of the directors of the WWE. before I was the son, I was next in line. today, I am it."
"Yeah."
"God Kat, I never wanted Dad to get old enough for me to have to take his job."
"You're getting older too," Kat said with a smile.
"Says who? I still am Simba the Giant Killer. Simba is not old."
"But when Simba's dad died, Simba did become the King."
"Dad isn't dead."
"No… but it's your time to be king."
"Maybe… but this king doesn't feel quite up to taking over his dad's office just yet. Tomorrow will be soon enough, yes?
"Yes."
"Let's celebrate tonight, just you and me."
"What did you have in mind?"
"Dinner and then we go out and dance our asses off."
"We have to be here at seven tomorrow morning for the photo shoot."
"Kat babe, we did it before."
"But we were younger then and."
"Are you saying we're too old to dance the night away?"
Kat smiled and shook her head, "I will never be that old."
"Then let's go. and make sure we get plenty of pictures to traumatize the kids."
"Deal!"
