Notes: The first of The Real Life Vignettes. The Shane Muse is begging for more exposure. Greedy little runt… and the kids are too…

All four siblings stood in front of the massive oak desk, looking suitably contrite. One of them tried raising his heads but the cold look he received for this daring was discouragement enough.
“I don’t understand,” Katia said slowly. “Are you children slow? Or is it that you don’t understand how easy it is for you to hurt others?”
“…”
“I’m expecting an answer?”
“We didn’t do it on purpose…”
“You didn’t?” Shane asked. “One of you didn’t think about waiting for the other one to get down on their knees so the other could finish the move?”
“Well…”
“I’m sure it happened in the heat of the moment and that no harm…”
“No harm? We could get sued over this… I swear!”
Kat got up from behind the desk and walked around to look at the four culprits who were fixedly staring down at their shoes. She was tempted to start knocking heads together. Matt and Jeff Hardy, she knew them to be reckless and she loved that about them. But when it came to her kids, Alex and Josh, recklessness was a bad thing. And for the Hardys to teach her precious babies how to perfect Poetry in Motion and for her babies to execute the move on a classmate? It was an awful thing.
“And the two of you still haven't told us why you’d choose to attack one of your classmates that way."
“…”
“School is letting the two of you off easy. You’re only getting suspended. But I am not suspending you. I’ll be calling your teachers tomorrow. No recess, for either of you for the next two weeks and coming with us for the next Pay Per View? Not going to happen.”
“But Mommy…” Alex said, her six-year old lower lip trembling.
“I am not budging Alexandra. No TV for the next two weeks, no video games.”
“He called Alexandra a bad name,” Josh said quickly.
“You weren’t supposed to tell!” Alex said, punching her brother’s shoulder.
“Alex! What bad name?” Shane asked, joining his wife.
“Don’t tell Josh or...”
“Tell me right now Josh,” Shane thundered.
Looking torn, the little boy finally lowered his head and whispered the word. All four adults stiffened and Katia grabbed her cell phone.

Shane was past mad and was delving into proud when he looked at the little runt Alex and Josh had taught a lesson to. The kid was about ten and he looked like a bully and his kids hadn’t been intimidated. And his father looked like a bully too, sounding like one even as he talked in French to Katia, trying to intimidate her with his size.
“This guy’s an asshole,” Jeff whispered to Shane.
“Since when do you understand French?”
“I can tell.”
“Alex, what are they saying?”
“Well, Mommy’s telling him that his son called me a bad word and that she is going to call the principal and get him suspended too.”
“Oooooh.”
“You people think you’re the best at everything,” the man began in heavily accented English. “You maudites têtes carrées!”
“What did he just say?” Shane asked, jumping to his feet.
“He called us square heads!” Katia said. “All right, that’s it! Maudites têtes carrées… listen, you Pepper pig!”
Shane stood back and listened as Katia started ranting and raving in French. It was an impressive sight and the kid’s mother came from the kitchen to watch and from the look on her face, she knew when her husband was beaten.
“Madame McMahon?” she said with a gentle smile, “I’m sure that between us, we can come to a solution.”
“Fine, because your husband is a vraie tête de cochon.”
Both women went into the kitchen and Shane, Jeff and Matt turned to Alexandra and Joshua.
“What did she call the man?”
“A pig’s head,” Josh giggled.
“My wife rocks!”

On the way back to the house in the car, everyone waited for Katia to tell them what had been decided.
“Well, the kid’s going to tell the principal he insulted Alex first and his mother’s going to insist he be suspended as well.”
“You’re the best mommy!” Alex said from the back. “I always…”
“You’re still grounded, all four of you,” Katia said.
“Us too?” Matt asked.
“Oh yes… the storyline that has you and Trish hooking back up Jeff? It can wait… I think she might be better as part of Team Canuck…”
“I agree… and doesn’t Rocky need a new bitch to vent on? How about Matt?”
“Sounds like a plan.”
“You guys can’t be serious.”
“Not about the storylines but we are about you guys helping the ring crew set up the rings for house shows for the next two weeks. And we’ll be needing help shopping for the roster’s Christmas presents. You’ll be spending the next two weeks helping us with that.”
“But…”
“I can stretch this out longer,” Shane said.
“Fine.”
All four of them, Matt, Jeff, Alex and Josh pouted in the backseat while Shane and Katia shared a smirk in the front seat. But both of their minds went along the same lines as they realized that if their six-year old twins could already work a move as complicated as Poetry in Motion. They’d rule the ring by the age of twenty and that was a good feeling.
