Part 11:
At the dinner table that night, Kat isn't touching her food. She's just sitting there, glaring at her older brother who's tearing through his second helping. Their parents willingly ignore the tension, asking a very affable Rocky questions about college and his experiences there. Finally, the oldest sibling takes pity on his little sister.
"I like him. He might not exactly be the kind of guy I had in mind for you but he's better than I expected. He's not Al Snow but he'll do."
"Do you mean that? It's not one of your stupid jokes or something?"
"No, I really mean that. He's smart and... did you know he writes poetry?"
"He does?" Mr. Jones asks, raising a surprised eyebrow.
"Yes," Kat says with a proud smile, "it's good stuff. Very dark and melancholy but it's good. He won a few writing prizes at his old school."
"Yeah, he told me about that. He's very proud of it."
"But you mean it, you really like him?"
"Yeah, I really like him."
"Cool."
"That reminds me... Shane called while you were still out with the girls and told me about some hockey tickets he had for tonight and... I invited Raven. Is that ok with you?"
"Ok with that? You want me to cancel my date tonight so that you can go out on a date with my boyfriend?
"It's not a date. It's just us guys going out... it'll be me, Shane, Hunter, Steve and Raven and maybe his friend Kanyon."
"You're here one day and you're already screwing up my life," Kat sighs, getting up from the table and stalking to her bedroom door.
Chyna looks at the girls assembled in her basement and lets out a merry little giggle that has all three of them glaring at her.
"Sorry," she apologizes, unable to hide her grin.
"What's so funny?"
"Look at the three of you... one Saturday night without your boyfriends and it's like you've been sent to prison."
"We do not!" Cheryl protests.
"Look at you... we're four hot chicks left to our own devices on a Saturday night... why are we staying at home and pouting? I say we go out for a good time."
"Go out where?" Kat asks eagerly. "I've been confined at home for the last two years I don't know what's going on anymore."
"Well, I hear your ex is having a party tonight," Chyna suggests, "I'm sure Al won't have a problem with us showing up."
"A high school party?" Cheryl asks, "Sounds interesting but I might be a bit too old for it."
"Oh please... now the question is... what to wear?" Debra says, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"My dad says Kat called from Chyna's place to say she was going to a party with the girls," Rocky says as he hangs up Shane's cell phone as they all walk out of the arena after the game.
"Which is probably why Cheryl's cell phone is off."
"Al Snow's having a party tonight. We could go and see if the girls are there," Steve suggests.
"Sounds like a plan."
"Any chance my sister might show up there?"
"Your sister missing a party? What are you, nuts?"
"Aw well, it can't always be perfect. By the way, Hunter man, I gotta know... why the hell are you going out with my sister?"
"Your sister is not all that bad man."
"She's a fucking shrew!"
"She can be..."
"Irritating?" Kanyon provides.
"What do you know?"
"Because for some twisted reason, Steph's always been in my class... since the first grade... that voice of hers... shit man, it makes my ears bleed."
"I don't get it... she was always nice to me," Rocky says as he gets into Shane's SUV.
"Probably has a crush on you or something," Raven comments, "girls are totally different with guys they think are hot."
"Which is why Hunter and Rocky like my witch of a sister."
"Hey, I didn't say I liked her. I just don't hate her. Hell, if I had my pick of any high school chick, it'd be Chyna."
"Really?" Hunter asks, surprised.
"Oh yeah... look at me man, I'm a big guy and I like chicks who can get with that, you know? If the girl's too small and delicate, then it's no go."
"You know who's small and not at all delicate though?" Kanyon asks, "the new girl... Jazz something."
At that, all the guys, except for Shane and Rocky shudder in total disgust.
"I mean," Raven says, "she might be nice and all but damn... girl ain't easy on the eyes."
"Tell me about it," Hunter agrees. "But she is one hell of an athlete. She already signed up for the volleyball and the soccer teams."
"Yeah well I'm looking to date a girl because I like the way she looks, not for her letterman's jacket," Steve says, "I already got one of my own."
"And you scored big with Debra," Shane tells Steve, "I mean, that girl is hot!"
"Deb's pretty cool."
"Guy," Rocky says, "that girl is more than cool... I mean, if the two of you hadn't been exclusive since you were ten, I might have asked her out."
"We weren't exclusive," Steve laughs, "she was a bit of a tomboy then."
"I think we're here," Shane announces as they drive past the Snow household.
There are cars parked up and down the street and loud music is pouring out of one house.
"I think so."
Part 12:
Inside, Kat is laughing at something one of the few sophomores at the party, Lita, is saying when she feels a wet kiss on the nape of her neck. In front of her, the redhead makes a face. The skater spins around and sees Chris Jericho smiling down at her.
"Hey beautiful," he says, the beer fumes from his mouth making her eyes tear up, "missed me?"
"Oh get away from me!"
"Oh come on... I'm a good looking guy... way better than... Seagull!"
"Seagull?" Lita giggles.
"You laughing at me Red?"
"Oh yeah... I'm laughing at you. And just to make sure you know... in a beauty contest, Raven would fly away with the prize."
"I'm a hunk damn it! I could get anyone here!" Chris shouts, stumbling towards Kat who dances out of the way.
"You know what," says a voice from the other end of the living room. "He's right... and he's welcome to me."
Chris spins around and before he can recognize the blonde bearing down on him, he gets so thoroughly and masterfully kissed that by the time the kiss is over, everyone is clapping and whistling. Finally his eyes focus and he recognizes a grinning Jeff Hardy, his mouth glistening from the kiss. Chris faints.
"Remind me to thank the Hardy boy," Raven tells his girlfriend, wrapping his arms around her.
"Hey baby," Kat says, turning around in his arms. "Back so soon?"
"Yeah. Having fun?"
"Watching Jehri-curl get kissed by another guy is always highly entertaining."
"He's never going to get over that, you know?"
"Just goes to prove how right he is about how attractive he is... I mean, to get another guy to kiss him in public... must be damn hot."
"Excuse me," Raven asks, "but why are we talking about Jehri-curl when I could be kissing you?"
Kat giggles and closes her eyes as Raven pushes her up against a wall and kisses her.
From her prime spot in Hunter's lap, Stephanie is keeping a discerning eye on the major players of the senior class. As usual, Debra has dragged Steve out on the dance floor and they're drawing their usual crowd of followers there. Test and Stacey are crammed together on a couch and Jazz and her boyfriend, a mechanic who likes to go by Taker, are also watching the action from where they're leaning against the wall. The drunks and various losers are crowded around Hall, Hogan and Nash, probably engaged in a drinking contest of sorts. The rest of the football team is crowded around Rocky. She shivers as she watches his mouth stretch out into a smile, then a grin and finally full-blown laughter. The man is so hot he's virtually distracting. And he's a college man, no less. He's much more attractive than Hunter.
Steph turns around and looks at her boyfriend while he's describing the hockey game to his friend Shawn Michaels. Not that Steph doesn't like Hunter's looks, well except for his monstrous nose, but Rocky's in a league of his own. She turns her attention back to Rocky and when Bull Buchanan moves out of the way, she realizes he has his arm casually thrown around Chyna's shoulders. She stiffens in Hunter's arms and lets out a curse.
"You ok?" her boyfriend asks.
"I'm fine... it's just... I didn't know Rocky had a thing for Chy."
Hunter follows his girlfriend's pointing finger and shrugs, "She's cool. And if Rocky likes her, that's his business, you know?"
"He likes her?"
"He might."
"But she's so... mannish."
"She's not mannish... she just works out and it looks good on her."
"It does?"
"Yeah."
"Are you saying I should go out and work out like her?"
"No. Working out like that is a Chyna thing, not a you thing."
Her mouth curling in a very unpleasant grimace, Steph reprises her perusal of the room just in time to see Raven and Kat holding hands as they head up the stairs. Grimace morphs into smile as Steph smells trouble. She bides her time, waiting five long minutes before sliding off Hunter's lap and following the couple up the stairs. She pauses significantly on the fourth step, staring at Jazz and Stacey, both girls finally taking the hint and rushing to join her.
The trio checks all the rooms on the left side of the second floor and they're about to throw open the door to the first room on the right when they hear Kat's distinctive voice coming from the second room on the right. They run over to the door and Stacey very carefully opens it, peeking inside. Her satisfied grin says it all and Jazz and Steph jockey for room at the door. They all three remain silent as Raven deftly flicks open the back of Kat's bra as she straddles his hips, the last barrier to her being topless. Stephanie closes the door and smiles to her friends, "Now get ready to see a master at work."
Steph all but hops her way down the stairs and goes over to Rocky.
"Hey Rocky," she purrs while Chyna glares at her, her body immediately stiffening.
"You're Shane's little sister, right?"
Offended that he doesn't know her by name, Stephanie's smile almost turns into a grimace but she regains her cool, "Right. You're Kat's handsome older brother, right?"
"Sure I am... but you know that since you came up to me and called me by my name."
Chyna laughs at that and smiles at Steph triumphantly.
"Sorry," Stephanie goes on, "I was just coming over to give you a message from Raven."
"What message?"
"Apparently Kat had a little too much to drink and she's feeling a little sick."
"Where is she?"
"Second room on the right," Stacey provides, pointing to the stairs.
While Rocky runs up the stairs, Chy stares down Stephanie and company. "If you fuck Kat over, I'll fuck up all three of your pretty faces." Chyna then eyes Jazz and makes a face. "Well, two of your pretty faces."
"You need to do something about that anger of yours," Jazz says, stepping forward.
"And let me guess, you're just the woman to help me with that?"
"See, I believe in equal rights," Jazz's boyfriend says, stepping forward, "and I wanna believe I have just as much right as my girlfriend does to kick your ass."
"Ain't no reason for any of you to kick each other's ass," Steve says, pushing a beer into Taker's hand and sending Chyna a quelling look. "This is a party, not a bar brawl."
Debra and Cheryl lead Chyna back into the kitchen and Steve stands in Taker's way, daring him to step forward.
Upstairs, when Rocky throws open the door, Kat spins around, covering her chest with her arms as Raven sits up, wrapping a protective arm around her waist.
"I'll be waiting for you downstairs," Rocky tells his sister flatly, "we're going home."
"Rocky..."
All too soon, the door slams shut and Kat slides off Raven's lap, looking for her clothes.
"Where are you going?"
"I have to go... you understand, don't you?"
Raven nods and Kat quickly makes her way to the first floor. She bumps into her brother in the staircase and looks up at him.
"Rocky, I just want you to know that..."
"What? What do you think that you can say to make me feel better about what I saw in there, huh?"
"Nothing."
"At least you're honest."
"I always have been... with you. And that's why I wanted you to stay out of it. This is my life Rocky! Not yours... what you saw in there was about me. If it traumatized you, I am sorry but you shouldn't have burst in on us. It was a private moment."
"I thought you were sick."
"Sick? Who the hell told you I was sick?"
"Shane's little sister."
"The bitch dies," Kat growls, moving past her brother and down the stairs.
"KAT!"
Part 13:
Stephanie is sitting in a chair, pretending to listen to Sarah's plans for the prom when the social events coordinator gets shoved to the side by a very angry looking Kat. The skater pulls the trouble-making McMahon to her feet and lands a punch to her jaw, throwing her back in her seat. Jazz tackles her immediately and the fight starts in earnest with the shorter, stronger girl soon gaining the upper hand. Luckily for Kat, her brother's right on her tail and he pulls Jazz off and helps his sister to her feet, standing in front of her as Jazz's boyfriend steps forward. Not wanting to be left out of the action, Stacey sneaks up to an unsuspecting Kat and viciously pulls on her hair. She doesn't get the chance to do anything else as Lita comes out of nowhere and pushes her down.
Taker's about to land a punch on Rocky's face when Al steps forward and shoves the two guys apart, "Enough!"
"I'm sorry about this Al," Kat says.
"What the hell is going on?"
"Stephie-bitch here thought it'd be fun to mess with me. I had to teach her otherwise."
"Are you all right?" Al asks his ex.
"I'm fine... just in the mood to break a little girl..."
"Kat," Hunter says, stepping forward, "what are you accusing Steph of exactly?"
"I don't know how or why but Steph told Rocky I was sick and that Raven needed his help."
"That's a damn lie," Steph says, "don't believe her Hunter. She's a damn liar."
"Am I a liar too? Because I sure as hell remember you telling me that my sister was sick."
"I was there," Chyna says, stepping out of the kitchen, "I heard Steph tell Rocky that Kat was sick and that Raven needed his help."
"God, you all must really hate me to lie this about me!"
"Hatred? I don't hate you Steph, I despise you."
"See... both her and Kat hate me... that's why they're lying."
Hunter looks from Chyna to Kat to Rocky and finally to Raven who's coming down the stairs while tucking his tee-shirt into his pants. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what he's been doing, especially if you also look at Kat's swollen lips. Shaking his head, he turns to his girlfriend.
"Why Steph? I mean, first there's the thing with the homework, then the big fight. Why the hell do you care what Kat does, who she's with or any of that stuff?"
"I don't..."
"You do... and you know what, it's shown me that side of you everyone talks about. It's shown me how cruel and mean you can be."
"Hunter, I'm not cruel..."
"God, yes you are... always plotting to stay on top... on top of what? The school's hate pile? You're already there... no one likes you... I doubt even Stacey or Jazz even like you... they just hang out with you because you're too big a bitch to piss off."
"Hunter..."
"I've been thinking about dumping you for a few weeks now and I wanted to do it carefully, nicely. But this is perfect, exactly what you deserve... a thorough public humiliation."
"Don't..." Stephanie whimpers, her eyes turning silvery blue with tears.
"No... I've been telling you to stop being mean and cruel to people and you're getting worse and worse."
"Please honey... let's do this outside, in private."
"You don't deserve privacy. You go out of your way to fuck people's lives in public. Turnabout is so fairplay. You will remember today for the rest of your life because today, you were publicly dumped!"
Shocked, Stephanie stares at her ex, blinking rapidly, "You're dumping me? You think you're man enough to dump me?" Stephanie asks, her eyes now dry of her crocodile tears. "No way little man, I'm dumping you!"
"Too late, I've already dumped you."
"I can't be dumped! I'm Stephanie fucking McMahon!"
"And Stephanie McMahon just got dumped by Hunter Hearst Helmsley."
Growling in frustration, Stephanie leaps forward, hands curled into claws, her intent clearly to tear at Hunter's cheek, when her brother catches her around the waist and carries her out of the room under his arm. Every one of the party goers follows him eagerly and watches, giggling and laughing as Shane dumps his sister in the small decorative pond in the Snows' front yard.
"I figured a time out wouldn't work with her," Shane explains, shutting the front door after him.
"Thanks man," Hunter tells his ex's brother, "great way of getting her out of my hair."
"No problem. Who's the kid playing DJ?"
"Christian something or other..."
"Christian," Shane shouts, "play that funky music, white boy!"
