Part 25:

SMACKDOWN

There was something unusual about the SMACKDOWN stage. On the right side, there was a small leather couch surrounded by tall stools. When Faction X passed by the living room like setup, they stopped and stared but they shrugged it off and walked to the ring. Just as they were getting into the ring and taking control of the microphones, the Family's theme began and out came Linda with Andrew, Sabrina, her head bandaged, flanked between them.
Behind them were Lita, the Hardyz, the Dudleyz, Too Cool and Rikishi Phatu. The Family sat down on the couch and their protectors sat down on the stools, all without saying a word.
"Linda," asked Vince, "what the hell are you doing out there?"
Linda looked at him, stone-faced, without saying a word.
"I asked you a question, Wife."
Again, Linda didn't answer but she fixed her baby blue eyes on him.
"Aren't any of you going to say a damn thing?"
"…" came the Family's reply.
"Fine then," said Vince, "since you don't seem to want to participate tonight, I'm going to make sure that you do. Tonight, your precious Andrew…"
Vince's mouth kept on moving but he wasn't heard. Shane handed him his microphone but the WWF chairman had no more success. HHH tried to talk but nothing came out through the speakers.
"Oh right," said Linda, bringing out a microphone, "as of tonight, the Faction's talking privileges have been taken away. We don't want to hear you blather on and on senselessly."
In the ring Vince screamed his head off but no one heard him.
"You see Vince, you hurt MY child, and I hurt you. So know this, as of now, every time you step out of line, I'll push you back into order."
Vince screamed some more, heedless to his son and daughter telling him to calm down.
"Speak to the hand Vince," said Linda with a smile, raising her hand in the air, showing her husband her palm, "speak to the hand."
With that, the Family and associates walked away, leaving a very angry, and mute, Faction in the ring.

"Lita," said Linda, "I know you're going up against Tori tonight, but if Steph interferes, take it easy on her."
"I'll do what's planned Mrs. M. I'm not going to hurt her anymore than I have to."
"Good. So is everybody set?" asked Linda, looking around the room. "Any questions?"
"I don't think so," said Andrew, quickly glancing around the room, "we're cool."
For the rest of the show, people made their way in and out of the dressing room during the commercials and Sabrina stayed out of their way. She wanted to cry her eyes out but she didn't. She wanted to be ignored, forgotten and almost succeeded until Matt, Jeff and Amy came to the dressing room and started getting her impressions on her match against Tori. As Sabrina lifelessly participated in the conversation, she felt Matt's eyes on her until she wanted to hit him.
"All right," finally said Linda, "it's time for the Battle Royale. Let's hustle."
"You heard the lady," said Andrew, ushering everybody out, "let's go!"
Sabrina got up slowly and watched everyone hurry out of the room. For the first time since the beginning of her televised WWF career, she was going to have to participate from the sidelines and it made her blood run cold. She hated it. She wanted to be out there, showing her stuff. But she couldn't be. The doctors had strictly forbidden it.
"You'll be back on RAW," said Matt, quietly coming up behind her.
"How do you do that?" she asked on an annoyed tone.
"Do what?"
"Sneak up on people like that?"
"It's a talent," he said with a shrug. "Anyhow, tonight's just SMACKDOWN, you'll be back on RAW for sure."
"What are you talking about?"
"Your frown about not being out there strutting your stuff."
"I'm not frowning," she said, flashing him a fake smile.
"Yeah right!"
"I should be out there," she growled, "kicking that old retard's face in for hurting me!"
Matt laughed and draped a casual arm over the young woman's shoulders, "Relax, I'm sure your mind's already cooked up some sort of revenge plan."
Sabrina bit into her lower lip and her eyes smiled up at Matt's.
"What?" he pressed her as they were coming to the backstage area.
"Here," she said handing him a folded piece of paper.
Matt unfolded the paper and when he saw Sabrina's drawing, he almost swallowed his tongue. He looked at her wide-eyed and she snatched the paper out of his hand.
"Sabrina," called Linda, "come on, it's time for our entrance."
"Sure."

When the Family came out, their protectors surrounding them, Matt Hardy didn't look very focused on the task at hand. As a matter of fact, he looked like he was about to burst out laughing at any second.
"What's wrong with you man?" asked his little brother. "You look like your head's about to explode."
"It's… I don't know… now's not the right time I guess."
"Matt fuck," whispered Jeff as they slid into the ring, "you're acting like me!"
"So that's why you're always grinning like an idiot."
The main event for RAW, which Linda had planned, was a Battle Royale between the Faction and the Family.
For the Family, Andrew, the Hardyz, the Dudleyz and Rikishi were fighting, whereas HHH, Edge and Christian, Road Dogg and X-Pac and Shane were representing the Faction. Lita's role was to protect Linda and Sabrina was to do color commentary with Cole and Lawler.
"Sabrina," said Michael Cole, "what an honor to have you joining us at ringside."
"It's a pleasure to be here Michael."
"Well, it's not like you have much choice," said Lawler, "after Vince taught you a lesson about sending his precious little Stephanie through tables."
"Lawler, you want me to comment this match or to do to you what I did to Steph on Monday?"
"I think he'd rather have you comment the match," said Michael Cole, looking at his partner's ashen face.
The match gave Sabrina the opportunity to show off her extensive knowledge of technical wrestling as she called the match. But she felt the tremendous pain of not being able to help her brother and his friends when Faction X took over the match. But she kept her mind on the task at hand.
"Sabrina," asked Michael Cole, "what goes on through your mind as HHH is tearing apart your brother out there?"
"First of all, Andrew's not getting torn apart. He'll get back on top of things, I know he will. Second of all, I'd have to be stupid not to realize what a beautiful physical specimen Hunter is. He's a marvelous athlete and there's no question in my mind why he's still the WWF Heavyweight champion."
"Wait a minute," said King, "are you admitting that the Game is the best there is?"
"No. He's good. But there's better out there."
"Like who?"
"That's for me to know, and you to wonder about," said Sabrina, patting King's cheek.
By then, the match had started going the Faction's way and Hunter slid out of the ring to get a chair. Sabrina started to stand in his way but he backhanded her so hard that she fell to her knees. His chair in hand, Hunter climbed back into the ring where he set up Jeff Hardy for the Pedigree.
Just then, to Kid Rock's American Bad Ass, the cavalry arrived.

Part 26:

The cavalry consisted of three motorcycles.
One on the top ramp.
Two were flanking the ramp.
Undertaker's bike was his usual black one. To his left, a red motorcycle, black flames licking at the sides. Kane sat on top of it in a long black leather jacket, much like his brother's. To his right, a black motorcycle, wildly decorated in blue, red and green. Rock sat atop it, in a leather jacket that reached just past his thighs. Their vehicles roaring in the arena, the three men rode to the ring slowly, their eyes on the WWF champion as he climbed back into the ring where Jeff was slowly coming to his senses. HHH still had the chair in his hand and set it up quickly, apparently hoping to get the pin before the ring was flooded by contenders for his belt.
But there was no time. Jeff dug deep into his reserves and managed to put up some kind of defense, delaying HHH's pedigree and giving Rock plenty of time to get into the ring and tap the champion's shoulder. Hunter turned to the People's champion angrily, mouthing off to him. Rock just smiled at him and offered his hand to be shaken. Helmsley slapped the proffered hand away and looked around for Jeff who'd tagged in Andrew who was now on the top turnbuckle, waiting for the champion to turn to him.
Andrew's elbow landed perfectly and the referee tapped the three-count. Hunter slowly came to and turned to Rock, yelling.
"I didn't interfere in the match," said Rock with a grin, "I just hadn't seen you in a while and I wanted to say hello."
"You…"
The rest of Hunter's words were lost as his microphone lost sound. That made him even more irate and he wildly threw himself at Rock who gladly set him up for the Rock Bottom. While that was going on, Kane, Undertaker and the rest of the Family's team were making mincemeat of Faction X. Vince, however, was isolated by Andrew and the Hardyz. All three of them pulled him into the ring and strung him up in the ropes.
"Mr. McMahon," said Andrew, "on Monday night, you hurt my sister. You hurt her so badly that she had to have stitches."
"You hurt my child Vince," said Linda, climbing into the ring. "And I will never let that happen again. Remember this and remember it well, you lay one little finger on Andrew or Sabrina ever again, I swear, you won't have to worry about any member of your roster. You'll have to worry about the person who knows you better than you know yourself. You'll have to worry about me."
"Vinnie Mac," whispered Sabrina, crouching in front of me, "there are many things I could think of to do to you. I could cut off a very important, and I'm sure enjoyable, part of your anatomy and feed it to rabid dogs. I could pull your brain out through your nose with a very thin hook." Sabrina got up and walked away from him, a wistful look on her face. She gently tapped her index finger against her jaw and looked at Shane and Stephanie who were at the top of the ramp with the rest of Faction X, crying for mercy for their father. "But I have a better idea," said the young woman. "Tonight, you're going to suffer through the beating your daughter got Monday night. Boys, get out the tables!"
On cue, the Hardyz, the Dudleyz and Rikishi threw three tables into the ring. As the tables were being set up, Sabrina turned to Vince who was now begging for his life.
"Don't cry Vince. It only hurts for a moment. Ask your daughter. Gentlemen?"
Buh-buh and D'von dragged Vince to the first table and held him down while none other than the Big Red Machine climbed on top of the third rope while Matt and Jeff stood on both sides of him, giving him final tips. In a move that would adorn any classic WWF, Kane, one of the tallest men in the WWF did a magnificent Swanton bomb onto the WWF chairman.
For a few seconds, almost ten or fifteen seconds, there was not one sound to be heard. Everyone, roster and audience was in shock. Then Kane got up and the applause shook the arena.
Again, the Dudleyz pulled Vince up on a table, and this time, Undertaker climbed up top. Jeff opened his mouth to offer advice but with a look, Rainbow's mouth snapped closed. Nothing so fancy as a Swanton bomb for him. The power of his upper body slamming into Vince was enough to turn the table into a pile of splinters.
The crowd didn't wait. They got up and they cheered so loudly that some of the wrestlers got out of character to smile at a few of the more enthusiastic fans.
Rock had to be different. He chucked off his leather jacket before climbing up on the top rope. But instead of having the Dudleyz lay Vince out on the table, he signaled for them to bring Vince over to him. Standing on the top rope, Rock positioned Vince for the Rock Bottom and down they went, like two birds soaring down to the table.
This time, the fans started cheering before Rock's feet left the top rope. Behind Sabrina, Linda was as still as a statue.
"Is he okay?" she asked her assistant.
"He's fine," answered the young woman coldly as she watched Vince give the referee the okay signal.
"Thank God."
"Let's go," said Andrew, steering both women toward the backstage area.
The rest of the Family trailed behind them, smiles on their faces as they passed by the shocked Faction.
"Now will you tell me what was so funny?" Jeff asked his brother.
"What?"
"What you were laughing about before we went out there."
"Oh that. Hey Sabrina, hold up for a sec."
"Sure. What's up?"
"Show him the drawing."
"What drawing?" she asked innocently.
"Just show it to him."
"Show him what?" asked Amy, coming to stand with them. "What's going on? I want to be in on it, please, please, please?"
"Fine," sighed Sabrina, pulling her drawing out of her pocket, showing it to Jeff and Amy.
Both of their faces went bright red as they saw the caricature of Vince lying in the ring, the remnants of a table all around him, his eyes bugging out of his head, veins popping out of his neck and head while Kane, Undertaker and Rock piled on top of him. The drawing had been done quickly but it was accurate, the pen sure of its lines. It made for a very funny image.
"Who drew this?" asked Amy, trying to hold back her laughter.
"She did," said Matt, pointing to Sabrina.
"Fuckin' hilarious," chuckled Jeff, lightly punching the other blonde's shoulder.
"Thanks."
Just then, some of the crew came by and Sabrina's drawing flew down to the ground and in the shuffle of feet, made its way to where Undertaker, Kane and Rock stood, talking about their high-flying maneuvers.
"Excuse me," said Sabrina, running to them, "could you get that for me please?"
"This," asked Rock, bending over to pick up the paper.
"Yes."
"What's this?" asked Kane/Glenn as he took the paper, "there's a drawing on it."
"It's nothing."
"Let me have a look at it."
Sabrina tried snatching the paper out of his hands but he just made sure he held it out of her way while he looked at the drawing more carefully.
"This is good," he grinned, "did you draw this?"
"No! Now give it back. Please."
"Wait. Rock, Mark, check this out."
"No, Glenn, please. Let me just have it."
"Wait, little girl," he said gently. "This is about them too."
Mark and Rock looked at the drawing Glenn still held in his hands and chuckled.
"I thought you said you didn't draw this?" asked Mark.
"I didn't."
"Why did you sign it then?"
"It's for a fan."
"A fan had the time to draw this?" asked Rock, giving her the eyebrow.
"Fine then, I drew it."
"It's good."
"Thanks."
"You do paintings?" asked Rock.
"Sometimes, why?"
"We'll talk. I think I might have a project for you."
As Rock, Mark and Glenn started going to their dressing rooms, Sabrina started walking back to where the Hardyz and Amy waited for her. Just then, Faction X came backstage, Vince walking between Shane and Paul.
"Hey Sabrina," called out the Game, "I hope I didn't hit you too hard."
"It's cool. I'm fine."
"Sabrina," said Vince, reaching out to touch her shoulder.
"What?" she asked, flinching as he tried to touch her.
"Do you think you and I might find a moment to talk about what happened on Monday?"
"No!"
Sabrina stormed off angrily, leaving Matt, Jeff and Amy to run after her to catch up to her.
"You're going to have to talk to him someday," said Matt.
"The later, the better," she whispered.

Part 27:

Linda and Sabrina walked into his house late on Thursday afternoon and the young woman looked around, her eyes wide.
"Someone actually lives here?" she asked breathlessly.
"Yes. Let's just say he's a bit full of himself," said Linda with a smile.
Just then, a stunningly handsome man came down the stairs, booming out a greeting.
"Linda, my love, it's been too long since you've come here to see me."
"Of course it has. It seems like you've only grown to love yourself more since the last time I was here."
"That goes without saying. Have you seen me?"
By then, Sabrina recognized their host and her jaw dropped. The man looked better live than he ever did on TV and the remnants of her teenage crush came soaring back at her.
"Close your mouth, Sabrina," Linda hissed at her.
"Er… What?"
"That's okay," said the man, winking at Sabrina, "it does my old ego good to know that women that young still find me attractive."
"You do realize that your ego is as big as ever?" asked Linda as the man put his arms around her shoulders and Sabrina's.
"Yep. Now, to what do I owe the honor of your visit?"
"Well, darling," said Linda, "I have a business proposition for you."

Almost two hours later, an very important agreement tucked into her suitcase, Linda walked out of the huge mansion, a still dazed Sabrina trailing after her.
"I can't believe we just did that."
"I do," said Linda. "You see, Vince's biggest mistake where I'm concerned is thinking that I would always and forever play above board."
"Poor man, if he only knew."
"If he knew, I'd just have to play dirtier."
"You would, wouldn't you?"
"Absolutely. Vince is the front man for the WWF, there's no getting around that. But I have a great deal of authority. I just forgot how to flex it."
"Well, flex it, boss lady, flex it."

The next day, Linda walked into the writers' meeting with Sabrina behind her.
"Hello gentlemen," she said with a smile.
"Linda," said Vince, getting up to greet his wife, "to what do I, I mean, we, owe this honor?"
"Well, I've decided to take a more active part in the story lines. Also, I wanted to formally introduce Sabrina to our writing team. She's got marvelous ideas and I think the WWF could take advantage of her unique take on things."
"Linda, I'm not sure this is such a great idea," whispered Vince, "maybe we can talk about this outside…"
"Actually Dad," said Shane, "I disagree. I've had the opportunity to work with Sabrina on the Family story lines and I was quite impressed. She's good and she's going to bring a lot of good things to the table."
"But can she work on anything besides the Family story lines?"
"I'm sure she can," replied Sabrina. "Actually, I have a few ideas for the Hardyz and Edge and Christian."
"Have a seat," said Linda, showing Sabrina to a few free seats, "and let's hear those ideas."
For the next hour, with Linda and Shane coaching her and encouraging her, Sabrina exposed her ideas for quite a few story lines. The response was good although there were times they all stopped and looked at her kind of funny.
"All right," said Vince, "we have a lot of things we can work with. But what are we doing with the Family story line?"
"Sabrina and I have some ideas on that," said Linda, slapping her folder shut.
"Care to share them with us?"
"No. Sabrina, let's go. We have things to take care of."
"Linda!" said Vince, "we share information here."
"Yes Vince, we do. But I get to choose the information I share with you."

"I wonder who it is," said a wistful Matt Hardy.
"Must be big, specially if the execs are keeping their lips tight," said Brian.
Sabrina walked by then, a smile on her lips. She felt so proud of her and Linda's latest coup that she wanted to burst in happiness.
"You're looking better," said a voice from a doorway.
"Trish, excuse me if I don't slow down to talk to you."
"Listen, Sabrina, I'm really sorry about what happened. I know that what I told Vince made him go off on you. When I saw him attack you, I flipped out. You can ask Sean or Matt…"
"I don't care. It was private and you had no right telling him about us."
"I'm sorry. It's just… Sabrina," whispered Trish, drawing her into a darkened corner. "I still love you."
"You do?"
"Yes! Sab, I was so wrong to let you go. I was dumb and blind."
"And you want me back in your life?"
"Yes. I'd do anything to…"
"Hush, don't say another word," whispered Sabrina, pushing Trish into a corner, "I want you in my life too."

Part 28:

"You do?"
"Of course I do. After all, you're a beautiful and talented woman. How could I not want you? You will be a part of my life."
"Oh Sab," whispered Trish, throwing herself at her former girlfriend.
"Of my professional life. You will be a part of my professional life for as long as you work for the WWF. As for being with me personally, forget it. I'd rather die than let that happen again."
Sabrina pushed Trish away from her and walked away, leaving her former lover to seethe in frustration. Her triumphant walk was halted however by Matt Hardy. He'd been eavesdropping.
"You son of a bitch," she started to hiss, "how dare you…"
Matt didn't say anything, he just grabbed her arm and dragged her into the dressing room he shared with his brother. Jeff and Amy were there, playing cards.
"Both of you, get out," said Matt.
"What gives?" asked his brother.
"Get out!"
"Sab, are you okay?" asked Amy.
"I'm fine. Dipshit and I just need to talk."
Jeff and Amy hurried out of the dressing room and left Sabrina and Matt to vent their frustrations.
"Dipshit?" he asked.
"You earned it!"
"So, you and Trish, huh?"
"Yeah, me and Trish."
"How long ago?" he asked, looking her up and down.
"A while back. Why?"
"Curious, I guess."
"Turns you on, doesn't it?" asked Sabrina, taunting him.
"Yes."
Sabrina's eyes went wide at Matt's blunt admission.
"Shocked you, didn't I?"
"Yeah."
"Well, let me explain. It turns me on to think of you and Trish together but not for the reasons you think."
"Really?"
"Really. I would given anything to have done to you what she did to you."
"Excuse me?" croaked Sabrina, backing away from him.
"Did she ever nuzzle your neck? Run her tongue along the column of your throat? Feel your pulse with her lips?"
"Matt…"
"I bet she enjoyed burying her face between your breasts… I bet they both feel as soft and nice as they look."
"…"
"Did she ever make out with you until you couldn't catch your breath anymore… and didn't want to?"
"…"
"I want to do that to you… and I want to do a lot more. Are you game?"
"Matt.. I don't think…"
"Not thinking is good sometimes… I repeat… are you game?"
Sabrina licked her lips and looked up at Matt. His brown eyes seemed to scald her skin and muddle her brain.
"I wish…" he began.
"Wish what?" she asked.
"I could be your tongue… licking those lips."
Sabrina blinked and her stomach felt like a big knot being tied and untied over and over again. Matt's arms were blocking her on her left and right and there was no way out. Well, there was a way out, a fight-your-way-out-type of thing, but she didn't want to fight with Matt. Not that way.
"Stop," she whispered to him. "Please…"
"Why?"
"Matt…"
"You're not attracted to me? I'm good looking, I'm smart, I'm funny and I like you."
"You're not my type."
"Liar, liar," he teased her, bringing his mouth so close to hers that their breaths mixed. "I know you like me. Your nipples are hard and it's really warm in here."
"Matt!"
"What? Don't tell me you like women better than me… I'll ask for proof."
Sabrina lowered her head and looked at Matt's Adam's Apple. She watched it move up and down for a few seconds.
"It's sexy," she whispered.
"What is?"
"Your Adam's Apple. It's sexy… like you."
"So you want me?"
"I want you."
"Have me."
Sabrina launched herself at Matt so hard that they both tumbled back onto the couch, their limbs sprawled together, their lips tightly fastened together. It wasn't a funny, relaxed, I-love-you-you-love-me kiss. It was a take-me-now-or-I'll-explode kind of thing, the kind of kiss Matt had been taunting her about, one of those kisses that didn't let you catch your breath.

Naturally, waiting right outside the door, Jeff and Amy heard the couch crash down to the ground.
"Should we go in?" he asked.
"How dense are you? They could be fucking their brains out."
"All the more reason."
"You perv!" hissed Amy before pressing her ear to the door, nudging Jeff out of the way.
Matt's mouth seemed fused with Sabrina's and she didn't want him to let go, ever. She felt completely wrapped up in him, his smell, the feel of his body pressing against hers. He pressed her body hard against the tile floor but she was past caring. No man, or woman, had ever made her feel so good, so sexual.
Then, for no good reason she could fathom, he pulled away from her. His mouth, and the area surrounding it, was wet from their kiss and he was breathing as hard as she was. But what caught her attention was his eyes. For a man who was known for his calm and relaxed demeanor, his eyes could not have looked more thunderous.
"What are you doing to me?" she asked.
"Same thing you're doing to me."
"So why aren't you finishing?"
"You want me to?"
"Yes please," she answered with a shy smile.
"I will, but not here, not like this. You and I… when we're going to do this thing… it'll be good, special… champagne and strawberries and roses."
"You're a romantic," she whispered, surprised.
"And you're not?"
"I'm a tear-your-clothes-off-and-take-me-now type of a girl."
"There's a time and place for that."
"Yeah, like now," she hissed, bucking her hips into his.
Matt let out a sharp breath and buried his head into the crook of her neck, biting into her collar bone.
"Don't do that."
"Why not? It's fun."
"For you. Painful for me."
"Sorry. But I could ease your pain."
"With Amy and Jeff listening to us? I don't think so."
"That could be a turn on."
"When we've been together for a few months," he said, calmly pushing strands of hair out of her face.
"A few months?" Sabrina sobered up quickly. "You're thinking this is going to be long term?"
"Don't you?"
"No! Matt… we're burning off sexual excesses. I'm horny, you're horny… we're solving a problem, each other's problem."
"You need more. I want more."
"You don't know what I need."
Sabrina pushed Matt off her and started righting the couch.
"Fine," he asked, getting up, "how am I not what you need?"
"You're just not," she said, moving toward the door.
"No, no, no, don't just throw the idea of us away like an old sock. Think about it. You and me, together… we'd be amazing."
Sabrina took her hand off the door handle and turned to Matt, her eyes misting over with tears.
"I loved Trish but I…"
"You what?" he pressed her.
"It never felt as good as this," she said, glancing at the couch over his shoulder, "you and me… it's scary how well we… work together."
"This was just the beginning. I've been thinking about it, Sabrina," he said, pushing her against the door. "I have a lot of things in mind for you and two months are just barely enough time for me to even get started."
Just then, Matt's hand reached between her legs through her jeans and started massaging that area. Sabrina sighed and sagged against the door as he worked her like a finely tuned instrument. Her eyes blurred and she thought she felt his mouth on her throat. She came to a incredibly powerful release quickly, screaming into his mouth.
"Oh God, oh God, oh God," she cried into his neck.
Matt held her in his arms and she regained her senses. Sabrina kept on holding on to him as if her life depended on it.
"All right," she finally conceded.
"All right what?"
"Two months… that's all you get."
"But what if…"
"If it lasts longer, all good for you. But two months is my limit. I get to stay or walk away."
"You'll stay," he replied confidently.
"But for now, I have to walk away."
Sabrina straightened her shoulders and opened the door to the dressing room. Jeff and Amy stumbled in together, landing at her and Matt's feet.
"Children," Sabrina sighed, walking over them. "Children…"
