Lillian stepped into the ladies’ dressing room and quickly spotted Chyna sitting on a bench with Amy and Jackie, playing a half-hearted game of poker. Taking a deep breath, she put her bag to the side and walked over.
“Hi guys.”
“Hey you,” Chyna smiled brightly at her, “missed you the last couple of days. How come you didn’t join us for the house shows?”
“I was drop-dead tired,” Lillian said quickly, avoiding Chyna’s eyes.
“You all right?” the raven-haired beauty asked, concern clear in her eyes and her voice.
“I’m fine. I have to go. Got to figure out what they want me to do.”
Lillian hurried out of the dressing room, leaving the other divas to stare at her. Chyna immediately got up.
“Excuse me.”
“Sure thing,” Jackie said with a nod. “What crawled up Lillian’s ass? That’s no way to treat your girlfriend.”
“You’re telling me.”
Amy looked up and saw Molly sitting in a corner, pretending to read a magazine. But when the blonde felt her redheaded friend’s eyes upon her and quickly looked down, biting down on her full lower lip.
“Give me a second,” Amy told Jackie, going over to Molly.
The youngest Holly tried beating a strategic retreat to the bathroom but Amy’s longer strides stopped her before she could lock herself in.
“What did you do?” Amy asked, pushing Molly into the bathroom and locking the door behind her.
“Me? Nothing.”
“That’s a bald-faced lie Molly Holly and you should know better.”
“Better than what?”
“Better than lying to me. It’s just going to make me more eager to get to the truth.”
“There is no truth for you to get to,” Molly said haughtily.
“Please. I was a better liar when I was six. Come on, cough it up.”
“There’s nothing for me to cough up.”
“Make it easier on both you and me Molly and tell me what’s going on right now. Cause if you think I won’t beat it out of you? Well, that’d just be funny…”

Chyna waited for Lillian to be done talking with JR before going over to her.
“What’s wrong Lil?” she asked softly.
“Nothing’s wrong.”
“Nothing? We haven’t seen each other in five days and you were barely able to muster a hello to me. And now, you look like the sight of me brings you to the verge of tears.”
“I’m just trying to get caught up, all right?”
Chyna let Lillian walk away and quickly fell into step behind her.
“I called your apartment three times and left messages.”
“…”
“Listen,” Chyna said, touching her lover’s arm. “If you want us to break up, let me know. I can take it. But the cold shoulder? That I hate with a passion. So just tell me what’s going on, all right?”
Lillian sighed and pulled Chyna into a recessed doorway. And then she told her about her trip.

“Where the hell is Molly Holly?” Chyna shouted as she came into the women’s dressing room.
In the bathroom, both Amy and Molly jumped at the sound of Chyna’s voice. She sounded so incredibly mad. Amy looked at Molly.
“What else did you do?”
“What are you talking about?”
“In case you didn’t just hear that, Chyna’s on the warpath and since she’s asking about your whereabouts, I’d say you did something to get into her bad graces.”
“I didn’t… there’s nothing that I did to make her mad at me.”
“You sure about that?”
“Sure!”
“Open up in there,” Chyna shouted, tapping her hand on the cold metal door.
“Chyna,” Amy asked through the door, “what’s wrong?”
“What’s wrong is that I need to speak with Molly.”
“Can it wait? We’re kind of busy in here.”
“Get unbusy!”
“Chyna, if you’d tell me…”
“Amy, I know you and your little buds are extreme and shit but you’re going to be extremely hurt if you get between me and the little blonde.”
As a further deterrent, Chyna started ramming her shoulder into the door. Both Amy and Molly jumped back, shocked. Finally, the super heavyweights’ cousin opened the door and came face to face with the Ninth Wonder of the World. Chyna looked down at the tiny blonde and started to clench her fists not to smash one into a wall.
“Do you think this is funny? Don’t you know how much I’ve been hurt? Do you think my heart’s like one of those stress balls that you can just squeeze and squeeze and no matter what you do to it, it’ll get back to its original shape? Well, it isn’t! You break a heart often enough and it doesn’t know how to pull itself back together again and it just stays broken. Do you want to do that to me? Is that what you’re trying to do to me? Because if it is, whoo hoo, so far, so fucking good!”
“Chyna…”
“I fucking love you Molly. I’m fucking in love with you. But that doesn’t give you the right to walk all over me. After that night we spent together, when you found out Tori was planning on cheating on you, you walked away from everything that I’d told you, back into her arms. That morning when I found you sitting at that table with her, you chattered my heart into a million pieces. But I put it back together, thanks to Lillian. And she helped me remember what having a little joy was all about and we got along great and I was finally all that point when you weren’t on my mind 24/7. But you had to go and ruin that. First you invite her to spend a few days shopping with you. Then you lure her into dressing room after dressing room, seducing her by stripping down to your nice little matching undies in front of her and then, then…”
“Chyna please…” Molly implored her.
“No please, no nothing. I’m not your plaything anymore! My heart might belong to you but my head is still in perfect working order. I know what you did but I never thought you’d be that cold-hearted, never thought you’d lure my lover away and have the balls to ask her to leave me for you.”
The other women in the dressing room gasped as that and turned to Molly, their eyes on her hard and unforgiving. But Molly was shaking her head, tears running down her face.
“Chyna,” Amy said from behind Molly, “you don’t understand…”
“What is there for me to understand? Ask Lillian. She was there. Molly asked her to leave me.”
“It’s true,” Lillian said sadly. “She did.”
“Well, you misunderstood,” Amy went on. “You both did.”
“Misunderstood what? Did she or didn’t she ask Lillian to leave me.”
“I did but…”
“God, how unhappy to you want me to be? Do you get off on my lack of happiness? Is that it? God…”
“I didn’t do it for you to be unhappy.”
“Gee, you ask my girlfriend to dump me but it’s to make me happy? What a novel concept!”
“I did it to make you happy…”
“How? How is my being alone going to make me happy?”
“I don’t want to talk about this out here. Not in public.”
“Okay, you know what? I’m tired of these games. Why the fuck did you ask Lillian to leave me?”
“Because the two of you aren’t in love.”
“Well duh!”
“And I’m falling in love with you.”
“What?” Lillian asked for the dumbfounded Chyna.
“I’m in love with Chyna! Have been since that night I went back to Tori but by the time I realized it and broke up with Tori, it was too late. The two of you were already together and I didn’t want to ruin that.”
“But you asked me to leave Chyna for you.”
“Yes. I asked you to leave Chyna… for me, to me… it was semantics. I want her. For myself.”
Chyna looked at Molly and shook her head. She opened her mouth before turning on her heels and walking out of the women’s dressing room.
