Part 7:

"Kai," Linda McMahon said as she took her son's new girlfriend's hands in both of hers, "a pleasure to finally meet you."
"Thank you. It's a pleasure to meet all of you as well."
"I'm not ashamed to say I've gotten quite addicted to your radio show. Very entertaining."
"Thank you so much. I love doing it."
"It shows. And your fabulous Seven, they're hilarious!"
"I know."
"But what about the seventh one? We've never heard from him or her."
"He's a very private person and he's not comfortable with being on the radio."
"I definitely hear him there. Every time…"
"Sorry about the delay," Vince said as he came in with Stephanie, "there was a little situation in the ring."
"Everything OK?" Shane asked.
"Yep," Steph said with a smile.
"Cool. Kai, I'd like you to meet my father, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, and my annoying little sister…"
"Shane!"
"What? She is annoying."
"Hi," Stephanie said, taking both of Kai's hands in hers. "I've been meaning to ask you… why my brother?"
Kai smiled as Kat's words about Shane's appeal came back to her.
"To loosely quote a friend of mine, he's the kind of guy you can bring home to your mother."
"He is?"
"Stephanie!"
"What? He said I was annoying first!"
"How are you doing?" Shane asked Kai as they walked through the backstage area.
"Meeting your family was nice."
"Just nice?"
"It felt very comfortable, easy."
"Easier than you expected it to be, right?"
"Something like that."
"Good, I'm glad. Now, we go for the big one. You ready to meet the performers?"
"Well, I really want to meet them but I'll never be ready."
"All right then. Here goes nothing."

Kai sat by the ring, listening to everyone as they worked out the coming night's edition of RAW. She'd met the entire roster and they'd all been very nice to her, some admitting to listening to her radio show and others to being frequent visitors to her website. But one wrestler, a fascinating one, hadn't introduced himself to her just yet.
"I can be shy too," said a familiar voice behind her.
"Can you now?"
"Yeah. And I can admit I'm an idiot too."
"A big fat one."
"I am not fat. But I am an idiot."
"As long as you realize it and accept it."
"I do. But I'm glad you're not as much of an idiot as I am."
"You just lost me."
"You're making a go of things with Shane, it's a phenomenal development."
"Yeah well… thank Kat. Girl has a way of being a colossal bitch."
"Thank her for me."
"So she can gloat again? No thanks, girl's ego is big enough."
"Sounds like a good friend to have."
"But a lousy therapist."
"Huh?"
"Inside joke. So where's my hug Rav?"
"I was wondering when you'd assert that right…"
With a soft chuckle, Kai turned in Rav/Raven/Scott's arms. Their hug was long and brought tears to her eyes. She'd wanted to do this for so long and this chance to do it? It made her heart sing with joy. Scott gathered Kai in his arms and smiled. Not only did meeting her and knowing her feel good, but knowing she was finally happy felt ten times better.
