Summary: Kat and Andrew get together after the show.
Kat's POV
I sit in the café, sipping on an Italian cherry soda while I wait for
Andrew. I get a romance novel out of my bag and I open it. Another twenty
minutes pass and in he comes. God, he's beautiful. He spots me right away
and I put my book away. Well, this is awkward. So I lean forward, slightly
closing my eyes, but not all the way and let him lead. Kiss me on the
mouth, on the cheek, I don't care... Just kiss me.
Andrew's POV
MOUTH! MOUTH! MOUTH!!!
So I go for it and when I pull back, she's smiling. Thank God I went for
the mouth. It was a short little kiss, sweet.
"Hey there," I say, sitting down in front of her.
"Hey yourself."
She's looking at my hair!!! She must have meant it when she said she liked
it long and loose.
"So, the show?"
"Fabulous! Too bad the WWF doesn't come here more often. It was great!"
"Really? I mean, it was just a house show."
"Still very cool. And you did very well. Looked plenty yummy."
"You too."
Kat's POV
He likes how I dressed for him! Oh God! Don't faint Kat. Be cool.
"Thanks. I wasn't sure about the blue for my hair."
"It works."
"Thank a bunch."
"So we have like an hour before the dinner reservations. What do you want
to do?"
"We could sit here and talk."
A bunch of kids come in and I know they were at the show. Call me selfish
but I don't want to share him just yet.
"Or," I offer, "we could go to the one place where we won't run into any
wrestling fans."
"Where?"
Andrew's POV
A café inside a bookstore. Kat dumps me at a table and winks at me,
telling me to order her a cup of tea. When I asked where she was going,
she grinned and walked down the stairs. So I'm sitting here, waiting for
her. She comes back with two books. One I recognize, it's one of those
crappy wrestling books and the other's a comic book. Cartoon strips,
really, Cathy chick.
"So what gives?"
"We can talk about your business," she says, putting the wrestling book
down, "and take a glimpse into the life of a single woman. Where do you
want to start?"
"Wrestling. Let's test your knowledge."
Damn, she knows her stuff. She doesn't know everything but she knows a lot
and what she doesn't know, she makes up. And with such flair. That Cathy
cartoon book is kind of funny too. Not my every day kind of stuff but
still funny.
"Is your life really like that?"
Kat's POV
I look down at the strip where Cathy is obsessing about running into her
ex-boyfriend and I take a moment to think.
"Not really. But this could be my life, in a strange fictive world where
I'm white and approaching my forties."
He laughs at me and reaches out and strokes my jaw.
"You don't look white at all and definitely nowhere near forty."
"Thank you," I whisper, taking his hand and laying a kiss in his palm.
I get lost in his blue eyes and I move my chair forward. I want to kiss
him again. I've been dying to do so since that first night. I've dreamt
about it and now, now I am going to go for it. And so is he.
Andrew's POV
Her mouth is the heaven I want to settle my lips upon. I move forward and
I'm about to attain heaven when we're interrupted.
"A bookstore? You're taking this lovely lady to a bookstore on this date?
Drew, guy, how much of a loser are you?"
I will kill them. I will cut them up into tiny little pieces and scatter
them all over the world. But I will kill them. And I will kill them now!
"What are you two idiots doing in here?"
"Well, we thought your lovely lady might enjoy meeting us."
"She would not!"
"Allow her to decide that for herself," Adam says, sitting next to Kat,
sitting way too close to her.
"The trio of Canadian Blondes," she smiles, pulling me down to sit next to
her. "I am honored. Sit down Adam. Jason."
"She knows our names," Jason says, sitting down, "dude, she must love us
more than you."
"You are not that cute, Reso," she says with a smile.
Kat's POV
They are too cute. They are really adorable. I reach over and gently pat
their cheeks.
"I like seeing your cute little mugs on TV too much to hurt you. Yet. But
don't Test your luck with me. You might not like it."
"She's tough," Adam grins. "Can we keep her, huh, can we keep her?"
"Keep me? What am I, some sort of toy you guys get to keep and play with?"
"Yeah!" both Adam and Jason say at the same time.
"I'd apologize for my dumb ass friends but I really don't want to," Andrew
says, running his hand over his face.
"It's okay," I tell him, reaching out to touch his hand. "They're
adorable-- the same way mosquitoes are adorable."
"Dude, I think she just insulted us."
"Why are you guys being Edge and Christian? Not that I don't like those
guys but I'd much rather talk with Jason and Adam."
Andrew's POV
Did I mention Kat is brilliant? The looks on their faces when she says
that is amazing. It's like she completely rocked their world with that
question.
"Don't you like Edge and Christian?" Adam asks, slipping out of character.
"I love them. They crack me up."
"But?"
"But, I love them on RAW but here, in this setting, they don't fit."
"And we do?" Jason asks.
"You do. Naturally me and Andrew would fit better if we were alone. But if
you're going to be here, I want to spend time with Adam and Jason."
"Give us a minute, will you?" I say, taking her slim wrist in my hand.
I pull Kat up to her feet and we go into the bookstore itself.
"You don't have to be nice to them, you know. I won't stop liking you if you
tell them both to go to hell."
"It's okay. Really. I think this might actually turn out to be fun. It's
been a long time since I've had the chance to traumatize guys."
"Traumatize them huh?"
"Yeah. I mean, I'd love to spend tonight with just you but this could be
fun too."
"If you're sure."
"I'm sure. And I'm sure about something else too."
"Like what?"
"I'd love to get a real kiss out of you. I think I've earned it, no?"
"I think I can manage that."
Surrounded by books on politics and history, I cup her face and lean down
to kiss her full lips.
Kat's POV
If I die now, I'll die smiling. My hands go to his shirt, his chest and
they rest there as I feel his heart beat under my fingertips. I open my
mouth and he's there, filling my mouth with the taste of him. My knees
start to give out under me and I lean back against the shelves, letting
him plunder my mouth.
A cough, not at all discreet, makes us aware of our situation, and our
location. Andrew pulls away from me and I straighten, my eyes finally
focusing on the bookstore employee who's grinning at us. I refuse to speak
and let Andrew drag me back to the table when Jason and Adam are laughing
at Cathy's antics.
"All right," Andrew says, "you can come with us. Thank Kat because I still
don't want you there."
"Thanks Kat."
"Thanks Kat."
"No problem. Let me just call the restaurant to find out if they can make
the table for four instead of two."
Andrew's POV
While she's on the phone, speaking in my new favorite language, French, I
turn to Adam and Jason.
"How did you find us?"
"We followed you. We gave you some private time."
"A whole twenty minutes," Jason pipes in.
"And after that, we got bored."
"I'm on a date!"
"We thought you'd need help."
"You two are... Ugh!"
"You kissed her, didn't you?" Jason asks, grinning.
"I'm just going to tell Kat it'll be the two of us for dinner."
"No!"
So here we are, in a nice restaurant, me, Kat and the boys. It's weird but
she takes to them very easily and they to her. I mean, with me, she's
sugar, all sweet and stuff, but with them, she's all spice. She's a guy's
girl, you know. Down to earth.
"Please. I probably hate wearing make up more than you do."
"But you're a girl!"
"That's the stupidest thing you've ever said. So what? Because I'm a girl,
I have to love covering my face up with gunk?"
"Yes," all three of us answer.
Kat's POV
"Why?"
"Because it makes you look better," Adam answers.
"I'm not wearing any make-up now except for lipstick. Are you telling me I
don't look good enough?"
Jason and Andrew groan as my eyes narrow on the other blonde. I watch his
appropriately named Adam's apple bob up and down his throat as he looks to
his friends for help.
"Uh..."
"Yes."
"Can I not answer that?"
"No."
"Shit. You look wonderful."
"So why should I mar my natural beauty with make up?"
"You shouldn't."
"But you just said..."
"I was wrong OK?" Adam says. "You don't need any make-up. You look perfect
as is."
"Do you mean that?"
"Yes."
"Than you're forgiven my sweet boy," I pat his cheek as the waitress comes
over to take our orders.
Jason and I order the same thing.
"That's weird," he chuckles as the waitress leaves with our menu.
"What, us ordering the same thing? Not really," I smile.
"How come?"
Andrew's POV
"Yeah," I ask her, "how come?"
"Well," she smiles, reaching for her bag.
I watch her pull out her wallet and she reaches for her driver's license.
She hands it to Jason across the table and I see his eyes go wide and his
fingers tighten on the piece of paper.
"This is fake, right?" he asks her.
"No, it's not."
"This is real?"
"It is," she giggles. "I couldn't believe it myself."
"This is amazing!"
"I know."
"What is it?" Adam and I ask.
"She's... God, this rocks!!! We were born on the same day."
"What?" Adam and I make a grab for her ID and he gets there first.
"Shit, it's true. You guys are like birth siblings!"
"I guess we are."
I finally snatch her ID from Adam and I look at it. November 30th, 1973.
Wait a fucking second!
Kat's POV
"You're older than me!"
Oh shit! I wasn't planning on letting him know that. Damn Jason for being
born the same day as me!
"Yeah, I am."
"I didn't know that."
"I'm sorry."
Jason and Adam fall silent in front of us as I look up at Andrew.
"It's okay."
"You don't mind? I mean, I knew but it never came up you know?"
"It's okay."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Kat, age is age, nothing more. So you're two years older than me.
Big deal."
"A year and a half," Jason and I both say at the same time.
"Good."
I reach out and rub his free hand which is lying on the table. He brings
my fingers to his mouth and kisses them. The man is too sweet.
"Ooooooooooooooh, look Jason, Andrew's soooooooooooooooooo romantic."
I turn to them and I smile. They stop laughing.
"So I heard it through the grapevine that you, Jason, were a sub, and that
you Adam, were his dom. Is that true?"
They stop laughing and Andrew starts laughing so hard the table shakes.
Little boys should know better than to tangle with the Big, Bad Kat!
