Chyna on Off The Record

I just got done watching Chyna’s interview on Off The Record, a TSN interview show, and I was greatly impressed. She came off as the professional she is and it was really great. Here’s a quick overview of what she had to say.

Chyna on Rena Mero/Sable:
She didn’t have much interaction with Rena but in her opinion, she was a woman who thought herself too big for the business and learned her lesson the hard way.

Chyna on Trish Stratus:
In her opinion, Trish didn’t pay her dues the way she did as a wrestler but she does admire Trish’s willingness to learn and to take some hard bumps.

Chyna on Stephanie McMahon:
Stephanie might not have paid her dues as a wrestler but she did pay them since she’s been in the business for a long time. Chyna fully acknowledged the fact that Stephanie knows a lot about the business.

Chyna on being a woman in this business:
She is afraid she will be forced out of the business in the next couple of years, like most of the women do so she works twice as hard. But she does admit that she fought her way in and that she can’t be considered like any sports entertainment woman. As of now, she doesn’t see the WWF bringing in any women who’ll prove to be in her league.

Chyna as a feminist:
She doesn’t see herself as a feminist. She does what she has to do, regardless of the movement, she does it because she has to, because she wants to be at the top of her game.

Chyna on making it in the business:
She talks about how hard the guys were on her, about the bones she broke, the bumps she took, and about the fact that she wouldn’t take no for an answer, even from Vince. She says that she worked very hard and that if she hadn’t become a professional wrestler, she would have done something else with her life.

Chyna on fitness:
She mentions how long she’s been working on her body and how proud she is of what she’s accomplished. Basically a plug for her tape.

Chyna on working through injuries and dangerous stunts:
Chyna admits to being very vocal about not working under certain conditions. She mentionned seeing her friends working through injuries and not liking it but she admits that the choice is theirs.

Chyna on HBK:
She would love to see him perform again but thinks that his health has to be the primary concern.

Chyna on HHH:
She didn’t address her personal relationship with Hunter except to say that he’s a great friend.

Chyna on the possible WCW-WWF merger:
She finds it slightly insulting to the talent because with the WWF-WCW merger, the urge to defeat the competition will disappear. Neither she or the host, Michael Landsberg, mentionned WCW.
