KENTUCKY WRESTLING FEDERATION |
THE KWF JOURNAL Why KWF Closed? Written by: Hardcore Hecxz - 1-6-08 It would seem why such a good thing going would end so soon, that what I always thought. Personally I never wanted to end the KWF so early, but I wished it could of kept going or even so, at least join back together for one final reunion show that we could actually put on a final show fitting for a ending, but chances of that ever happening as time progresses is impossible. This is the reasoning behind the closing of Kentucky Wrestling Federation on August 25, 2002. Since mid-2001, KWF had went through several changes because to keep order and to keep all of my friends happy. There were few in the ranks that didn't like what was going on and was jealous in my mind that they wasn't getting big pushes or holding major titles like it's a big deal to them. Personally, it was childish, but when I look back....yeah we was childish. I had to break deals with some of the guys just to keep KWF together. Few examples was Chris Kaos leaving because he felt he was getting treated unfairly and didn't like what was going on. I liked Kaos, I though he is a great wrestler and a great friend, and at the time ran CWF in Vine Grove. So I worked with him with the idea to be joint-owners and redesign KWF into KCWF (Kentucky Championship Wrestling Federation) as we would be joint bookers and plan the shows up together. Which is why KWF became KCWF, getting back on track... KWF at the time around July 2002, was known as NOW (New Order of Wrestling) and Chris Kaos, Havoc, and Big Aaron, all 3 left us to form a new federation called MPWA (Mid-Eastern Wrestling Alliance). This would be the third time, the KWF suffered such a act. As the owner, I was just displeased with the events that transpired over the year. I felt like giving up, because it seemed that history just kept repeating itself. Not matter what I do, or say, it just keep happening over reasons that I felt where retarded. To break friendships over the reason of not being a World Champion, or getting what you want, just plain stupid. I was at my last straw. I felt like giving up, I got with some of the remaining KWF wrestlers and asked them their feelings on the matter and what they would like to do. Iceman, Tito, Vain, Flex and many others all agreed that I should keep going and that we don't need them. After hearing them feeling strongly about continuing, I felt we was in perfect union and that we can fight through this. So after a few weeks of planning and thinking things through. KWF decided to reapproach it's legacy and go back to it's roots, using the "Back to the Tradition" motto. NOW was no more, KWF had returned. KWF returned and went through a few shows perfectly so it seemed. Making new champions and plotting new stories to be told, everything seemed in place. August 25, 2002. Weeks away from our next FFA, "Parental Advisory 2002", my main focus was to set up a return match of sorts. 2 years ago, KWF witness a great match-up between friends, Brimstone VS Big Aaron in a First Blood Match. The match left marks in history and helped redefined KWF's matches. I was hoping to duplicate it and maybe improve on it since 2 years later, all of us have improved on our wrestling skills. However the problem was......Big Aaron was one of the defectors that left us. So I used this event to maybe help waiver Aaron's decision by highlighting Aaron's career and memorable moments, even went as far as saying that Big Aaron would return to KWF at Parental Advisory, even though in reality, that was a lie. The lie was merely a ploy, and to help bring more unity to KWF as well as maybe convincing Aaron to return. Granted, why would I do such a thing? Well because I admired Aaron's commitment to wrestling, plus he was such a good friend, that it was hard to see him go. So if I could convince Aaron, maybe the others would follow or change their minds. So through the show, highlights of Aaron's greatest moments were shown, from his first blood match, to his best match with Chris Kaos, to his World Title win in his somewhat retirement match due to health issues at the time. As well in the event, I created some top tier matches, had some of the best wrestled one another. Both Iceman VS Tito and SiC VS Tremor (Funk Master Flex) where excellent matches. Reasoning behind that was this tape was sent to MPWA to show we are still alive and still going. Overall, August 25th's event was great I thought, that was until the next show. Aaron didn't agree to return and kept with MPWA which was disappointing, but even worse I don't know was arose in the next few weeks. The KWF events held were postponed or held off for the simple reason of several no shows. Especially from those who told me, "Keep going Hecxz, we don't need them", they weren't showing. They had their excuses.....sleeping, sick, grounded, didn't feel like it or probally getting high. It was no secret, few would show, but I would be forced to send them home, because we couldn't do a event with just a couple of wrestlers. I felt disgusted by the ordeal, just abandoned me like that. Honestly, I felt if they lost interest, they should of just left and we would of ended KWF months ago. Instead, my time and hope was wasted. So after a few letdown, I gave up. I had enough and ended KWF. So August 25, 2002 would be KWF's final show. A good show at that, but the end no less. I will always hate how KWF ended, it upsets me, but life goes on and good things do come to a end I suppose. Even with KWF's demise, I would rise back up and return to the backyards, wrestling for MPWA, the ones who helped dismantle us, the irony. Even with that said, all I can say is that history in the backyards continue to repeat itself, and you don't know what I mean, look up the events that transpired MPWA into MWA, to MWA into CKWA, and CKWA into AOW, and reflect on what I wrote here and tell me, was it not the same scenario we suffered.
